  • Issue with AjaxControlToolkit for SharePoint 2013 Blog site template.

    Hi,
    Please find below the details of issue -
    History - We are working with SharePoint 2013 and we are using AjaxControlToolkit in our project. Basically this is a migration project from MOSS to SharePoint 2013. So we have migrated code MOSS to SharePoint 2013. Previously in MOSS project, AjaxControlToolkit
    was used so after migrating we have also used AjaxControlToolkit with updated version which can work in SharePoint 2013. This is working fine now.
    Scenario - There is one web application in SharePoint 2013 farm. Under this web application there are two site collections. One site collection is created with Team site template and second site collection is created with Blog site template.
    There are three feature in our wsp that we have created. One feature is at web application scope (which will do web.config modifications and it will add below entry in web.config file through SPWebConfigModification in section 'configuration/system.web/compilation/assemblies'
     <add assembly="AjaxcontrolToolkit, Version=4.5.7.725, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e" />
    ). And there are two site collection features.
    Now when we deploy our solution (wsp) to web application in SharePoint 2013 farm and activate the Web.Config modification feature which is at web application level, it has added above mentioned entry in web.config file.
    Our application in first site collection is working fine which we are expecting but in the second site collection which is created using out of box Blog site template, 'comment box' and Post button are invisible as shown in below screen shot -
    If we remove below entry from web.config file -
    <add assembly="AjaxcontrolToolkit, Version=4.5.7.725, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e" />
    and refresh the Blog site page then the Comment box and Post button is appearing again as shown in below screen shot -
    We also tried with updated versions of AjaxControlToolkit (Version=4.5.7.1005 & 4.5.7.1213) but no success.
    I will highly appreciate if you could help me in this.
    Thanks for your time.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajendra Gaikwad.

    Hi,
    As you said, the issue only comes with the Blog site template.
    I suggest you take a look at this blog about how to make Ajax Control Toolkit work with SharePoint 2013:

  • Customization Fusion Application EOs

    Hi Team,
    I have a requirement where i need to keep a track of all the CRUD operations performed in Fusion Application for a particular table.
    I have a knowledge of Oracle ADF and I believe i can make use of history mappings present in EO to track last_update/modified by or create business event on seeded oracle fusion EO but not sure how that can be use in Fusion Application.
    Which Jdev Version would be compatible to Fusion Appltn.
    Any guidance will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,Ajay

    Hi Vik,
    Yes i am.
    I know we can use DB triggers but then I wanted to create a business event where i can publish this(who updated/modified data) information on webservice,using which i can get XML data to generate my reports on it.
    I wasn't aware of Which Jdev Version would be compatible to Fusion Appltn.? but then i got access to https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/jdeveloper_and_fusion_applications_explained which helped me to start.
    I am stuck at ,now i am not able to add a business event for which i have created a separate post pls. help over(Unable to customize LedgerSetEO of Fusion Apps) and we can close this thread.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Hardware requirement for Fusion Applications HCM installation

    Hi Team,
    I want to install fusion applications for HCM.
    Can any one suggest the minimum hardware requirement for installation.
    Please help me with any documents.
    Thanks,
    Chandra

    Dear Chandra,
    Please note that Fusion Applications installation involves following components.
    1. Oracle Identity and Access Management components (Middleware infrastructure)
    2. Oracle Database for IDM
    3. Oracle Database for Fusion Apps
    4. Fusion Applications Domains (includes Admin and managed servers for Fusion Applications)
    I have posted a guide on installing Fusion applications on 2 node setup and if you have sufficient hardware to host 2 VMs then it can be done on single server as well.
    http://www.oratraining.com/blog/2013/03/oracle-fusion-applications-installation-step-by-step-guide-11-1-6/
    This will explain the 2 node architecture which I have prepared.
    http://www.oratraining.com/blog/2013/03/fusion-applications-architecture-for-2-node-setup/
    The minimum memory requirement changes if you select more products since in Fusion apps each products have their own domain and if you select more products then there will be more application managed servers (even if you don't select a product family, it will still create some managed weblogic servers based on dependency with selected products)
    The minimum memory requirement to host IDM and consolidated DB in 1 node is 10-12 GB
    The minimum memory requirement to host Fusion Applications domains on 2nd node is 64 GB (for 1 product family, for all products selected then 128 GB)
    Please note that these are "minimum" requirements based on my experience, not as per the documents since what we are talking about is installing for "learning", not for production, where you will host various components in separate nodes.
    Thanks

  • How to start of with Oracle HCM fusion applications to gain good grasp on the technology

    I have been working in Siebel for a long time and I am currently moving to Oracle Fusion HCM application.I would like to know the best way to start up with it and I would also like to know the possible way to go about it so that having 7years of experience I can justify my knowledge in this technology and skill.Could anyone please guide me as to how to go about it.What are the things i should start from and how should i go about it,what forums to follow,what online tutorials to look at.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi.
    There are loads of resources out there, but with so many it can be hard to know where to begin. Obviously we cover just Customization-Integration related areas not the whole stack. I don't have anything specific to your Siebel background, however hopefully these "top pick" recommendations will help you. My personal advice is to pick one topic or technical component at a time, because trying to learn everything at once quickly becomes overwhelming.
    1) Chapter 2 of my book, now a few years old, gives a Technical Overview of the stack. Get it for free here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/managing-fusion-apps-418611.pdf
    2) Oracle Learning Library is a good resource for demos and well-crafted content on many topics. Use the search to find Fusion Apps content: https://apexapps.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=44785:2:0::NO:::
    3) Whilst it might seem predictable, our online help is the intended content for getting started. This was overhauled recently and the new layout really helps. Both the product docs and the help portal content is very well written by our experts. Getting Started with Oracle Fusion Applications Lifecycle Management Release 9
    4) The MyOracleSupport site has quite a few bits of content on technology component usage inside Fusion Apps. Look for the "Information Centers" for applications technology or BI for example where you'll find lost of top content listed by category.
    I am also working on some "resource roadmaps" - a tool to give people to all key resources for a topic in a quick and visual way. Keep an eye on our blog for more here.
    Kind regards

  • JDev web resources besides OTN & JDev team blogs?

    Gang,
    Besides OTN, the OTN forums and the Oracle JDeveloper development team blogs, has anybody found any other JDeveloper resources on the 'Net?
    I know Paul Dorsey, part author of the "Oracle JDeveloper 10g Handbook" has a website and a few presentations somewhere that was okay..... but are there any other rich sites I'm not visiting?... Or is Oracle it?
    It would be nice to know what others have found.
    Cheerio,
    CM.

    Shay, I'd like to stick my foot in (my mouth?) too with my opinion.
    (Apologies but I didn’t have a lot of time to draft this message so please ignore any typos and poor grammar)
    Let me start by saying I'm an Oracle programmer with 10 years experience, having coded using Designer, (-J)Headstart, Forms, Reports, database modelling, PLSQL everywhere you can possible stick it.... etc etc etc. I infrequently teach week courses on Forms, SQL, PLSQL etc. My point being is I'm no monkey in appreciating technology. I’m not brilliant but you can call me Mr Average Programmer – if it makes sense I’ll work out how to use it.
    I'm also on the Australian Oracle User Group committee, have been for several years, have meet and talked to several other senior consultants who have used JDeveloper who have extensive Oracle experience.
    And the general consensus is that the JDeveloper documentation is of poor quality.
    Now I’d like to substantiate my claims by giving evidence rather than just expressing an opinion. For a minor documentation bug I’ve recently raised, see TAR 4212035.995 bug 4058863. I’ve found more documentation errors, but after a while I always become worn down through the tedious TAR process, and just prey it will be improved in the next release.
    This bug, as you’d appreciate is a rather minor issue, but boy do I waste a lot of time working out how to use JDeveloper without the correct and complete documentation. I spend time having to search the OTN examples, forums etc, then posting to the Forums and Oracle Support for help. So much for “productivity” with choice.
    As another example, do a search in JDeveloper for “uixState”. Most UIX LOVs are useless without it in the partialtargets element….. but it’s another undocumented feature that I only found out about via the forums. Another, the javaType field within the UIX <invoke> tag: exactly what data types are allowed? If I’m not mistaken (I might be, I’m still learning my way around Java), “string” is not a valid Java type…. isn’t it “String”? See my confusion, and the documentation doesn’t say much at all. Does this mean if I return a “Number” I should use “number”.
    Would you like to get away from UIX documentation errors? Well try bringing up the help for the “Pooling and Scalability” tab, under the Configurations sub-menu option for an Application Module (the help page is entitled “Configuration Manager – Pooling and Scalability”). See all those “text” comments and “to be included in future release” comments. Not much use are they?
    Moving on to your question about “how-to”s we’d like to see is a relevant one. I can only talk from my personal experience, but what I’d like to see relevant to my current project is (or would have been useful in the past):
    1)     UIX lov – returning multiple fields.
    2)     UIX lov – using lovUpdate event with multiple LOVs on the screen.
    3)     UIX lov – a complete example that allows the user to “type” in a value to a <messageLovInput>, validates the entry against a database table via some exposed AM/VO method, clears and displays the LOV if the user enters an invalid value.
    4)     UIX trees – proper discussion on setting up hierarchical VOs and associations.
    5)     UIX trees – example of programming insert and delete node functionality, with the example showing how to write the values through to the database.
    6)     UIX hgrids – example derived from database, where the user can insert/delete values through to the database.
    You’ll notice I’m focusing on the UIX technology. Simply put it’s what we’re using at my current site.
    2 other issues I’d like to point out too though. Notice the focus on LOVs? Well I’m an ex-Forms programmer who knows the power of the Forms LOV control. I’ve been confused, annoyed then resigned to the fact that you’ve got a hell of a lot to do yourself with JDeveloper LOVs, unlike Oracle Forms LOVs where so much functionality is built into the control. In return you might argue “this is JDeveloper Chris, not Oracle Forms”. You’re right of course, and I can accept that I have to learn the JDev way of doing things. But, and “big” but here, there are no detailed how-tos comparing the features of Oracle Forms LOVs and how to do the same thing in JDeveloper. And I mean complete examples.... which check values against the database, pop-up the LOV as described above list.
    So in your how-tos, try to think about what Forms programmers can do, and show how you would do it in JDeveloper. We need more than the simple examples because we’re learning your tool, we’re not experts in JDeveloper, and we can’t read your mind when you give (what I consider to be) overly simple examples where the author assumes given a little headstart that everyone else will be able to run with it. It took me ages to work out how to return multiple fields from a LOV (and my implementation probably s*cks).... call me stupid, but a complete how-to would have saved me lots of time.... and other people too (ie. Forms programmers) because I see the same questions appear on OTN again and again.
    To reiterate, think about the productive functionality Forms provides you, and provide how-tos on what to do in JDeveloper. Simple really.
    The 2nd point I’d like to make is you need to give complete examples. To give an example of a poor-example, recently Steven Muench (or was it Jones Jacob, sorry I forget) published a ‘how-to’ on his blog on populating a UIX tree. What was missing? Firstly documentation (though a promise of some in the future was given). Secondly how to allow the user to add/delete entries from the tree. Thirdly how to add/delete those entries from the underlying table. Fourthly dealing with updating the underlying iterators and web page given the users actions. And so on....
    I can hear you asking “what? You want us to do everything for you!?” No, but more complete examples would be great. Without a doubt in my opinion, the best example of this would be the “Building Oracle ADF Applications: A Comprehensive Workshop” tutorial. Obviously a lot of effort was put into that tutorial, but if all tutorials were written with this level of detail, I don’t think I’d be writing this post, the JDeveloper team wouldn’t be spending so much time answering queries on the Forums, and the Oracle Support team could spend more time doing training.
    Hear me out on my next comment – I’m not Oracle bashing! Just making a point.
    With regards your comments about writing blogs, and increasing the JDeveloper web-community, thinking about it logically I just can’t see it happening. The basic problem is you’re “Oracle Corporation” (aka the Other Microsoft). You’re not an Open Source **community** group. So people don’t have much reason to write blogs to the benefit of essentially Oracle.... unless they can make money out of it. They don’t get the kudos or just the good vibes of writing for the effort of everybody (essentially why Open Source exists – for the benefit of all – communism, power to the people, etc). This leads onto my second point. The people who work with Oracle tools, in complex-detail, besides Oracle’s own staff, are being paid far too much money working with your tools to waste time working on blogs. I’d love to write one, but time evades me and I’d rather make money out of the exercise. (I gotta feed my kids somehow - or maybe have some, either one ;)
    This puts you, the JDeveloper team in an interesting position. I know you’re really keen to get your tool used outside Oracle. Why do I think this? Basically your implementation of the Struts diagram tool and huge focus on JSF (aka ADF Faces) – I haven’t seen the other IDEs provide such functionality yet and I think you’ve tried very hard to provide these new features to beat the competition. But, unlike the Open Source efforts like Eclipse and Net Beans (etc), as I just mentioned, I don’t think you’ll ever get much support from the JDeveloper community in assisting your documentation efforts with this tool. So what have you got to do to increase market share besides great new features like the Struts diagrammer??....
    Well I hope’s it’s obvious after typing all of this......as there is little activity in the Internet regarding your product and how to use it besides OTN, and given complaints about your poor level of documentation, this means you should focus heavily on documentation in each release. Make sure it’s up to date. Make sure it’s complete. Review it all each time. Make plans for how it could be improved and expanded.... don’t just focus on the tool.
    I think I can hear you screaming “but we do you bl**dy idi*t!” But I’ll answer in turn.... the perception is you don’t, and the evidence in front of me shows you haven’t..... so my conclusion is I think valid.
    Also let me place a warning that the risk is if you don’t provide better documentation, my peer-consultants will not recommend JDeveloper. I know of 2 specifically who will have a very hard look at JDeveloper a 2nd time before recommending it to a client, because of their experience with the tool – in particular there frustration with the poor documentation. If they’re making such decisions, I bet others are too.
    With all the above in mind please note my goal of this whole post, and I know I’ve posted a lot, is not to be exceptionally critical of JDeveloper and the JDeveloper team. However I thought it was worthwhile writing a comprehensive message to the forum for you to look at... rather than the 1 or 2 liners you usually get.
    Gee, I should have started a blog and posted this entry I think.
    I’ll finish this post by saying that I’m thankful that the JDev team monitors this forum and puts in a good effort in supporting us, your clients, saving us a TAR or 2 and probably going bald.
    Regards,
    CM.
    PS. If you’d like to contact me for further information, you can find my current email address associated with the TAR mentioned above.
    Also please note the “standard disclaimer”, that none of the above is my employer’s or clients’ opinions; it is all totally of my own opinion.

  • Can't open file "~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites"

    I was working on iWeb today, doing the usual adding pictures, and gave a few pages some color, and a few pictures here and there.
    I restart my computer, because as usual, I almost have no memory left. When the computer is running again, I opened iWeb, and I get this odd message:
    Can't open file "~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites"
    Why is this here? I didn't do anything weird to trigger such message. The site was working perfectly fine! I tried taking the domain file to the desktop, then opening it once iWeb launches from there, and same message appears. I put it back to its place, and tried putting the iWeb plist on the desktop, and same deal!
    Everything is back in its place, I haven't changed or triggered anything to deserve this. I ran Onyx, full optimization update. I restarted computer, and conducted a full disk permission repairs. Only 1 error found out of another app.
    My computer is healthy, my programs are running fine. What is going on? Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hi
    Whaow 3.1GB. I'm sure iWeb has problems with that. I have the same problem with my iWeb. I have about 100 BLOG pages with a lot of pictures. Although iWeb scales the pictures when publishing (good!) it does not scale them when they are stored in the domains file/dir (bad!) So if you have an 8MP camera, this adds up after a while.
    You can open the comains file and try to figure out what causes the trouble. (Right click/CTRL click, open content) sort on size to see if you have some extremely large stuff in there (Movies???) Take them out and try to make them smaller.
    Good luck!!
    Walter

  • Fusion Applications 11.1.7: Deploy a custom ADF page to Fusion Applications

    Hi,
    I am trying to create and deploy a custom ADF page in Fusion Applications(in premise) which will allow search, create and update operations on a custom table. I have been going through a pile of documents and this forum but I still have the following questions.
    I have a PageA based on the UIShell. This page is linked to the taskflow TaskFlowA which provides the search functionality. TaskFlowA calls TaskFlowB and TaskFlowC which provide the create and edit functionalities.
    I have enabled security from Jdeveloper (Application>Secure>Configure ADF Security)
    Question#1: Is this step required?
    To deploy it I will generate the ADF Library JAR for the Model and ViewController. The ADF Library JAR for the model will be placed into the <ExplodedEarDirectory>/APP-INF/lib directory of an existing application(say HCM). The ADF Library JAR for the UI will be placed in the <ExploadedWarDirectory>/WEB-INF/lib directory.
    Question#2: Are any other steps required for deployment.
    I will then add permissions for the page by following the steps in How To Configure Security For Custom Pages/Taskflows Added To Fusion Applications(Doc ID 1486524.1). This document lists the steps for configuring authorization policies using APM.
    Question#3: While specifying the resource type in APM, I will select RegionResouceType and set the Name to PageA. I understand that I need to provide the full path of PageA in the form xx.xxx.xx. But how do I get the full path?
    Finally I will add a new menu entry in the Navigator menu using the setup task “Manage Menu Customizations” by adding a new item.
    Question#4: What will be the value of Focus View Id for the new Item? Will it be the Focus View Id that I provided while creating the menu file in JDeveloper?
    Question#5: What will be the value of Secured Resource Name? Will it be the same as what I provided in Question#3 above?
    Thanks,
    Sujoy

    Question#1: Is this step required?
    Yes if you want to test the security in the integrated WLS .
    Question#2: Are any other steps required for deployment.
    Yes. Please follow up our earlier post ADF How-To #12: Deploying Customizations to Standalone WLS
    For question #3, #4 & #5 please first review our other post ADF How-To #10: Replacing A Bounded Task Flow  This won't answer completely what you asked but would definitely be a step in that direction.
    I would also recommend you to go through other posts starting with title ADF How-To #.
    Hope this helps

  • Can we Customize Edit User-Defined Table Screen in Fusion Application

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement to add a ADFDI functionality to the 'Edit USer-Defined Table' screen by adding a 'Mass Upload' Button.
    Normally for Some of the screens (Fusion Compensation) i am seeing 'Personalize -> Edit Current Page' Option on Menu items on top. But on 'Edit User-Defined Table' i am not seeing this option in 'Personalize' Menu.
    So the questions is is this screen Customizable in Fusion Application? If So What will be EAR file which we need to use for Customization.
    The screen where we need to add ADFDI Functionality is under 'oracle/apps/setup' path.
    Can anyone point me to the Exact EAR on this and also let me know if we can customize it or not
    Thanks
    Kaja

    Generally the code structure can be observed run-time [url https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/finding_code_artifacts_for_customization]using the composer, however in your case the content comes through a portlet in which case the method does not work as you cannot drill down to the specific region details in the composer. Based on a search through the code I think the regions you are interested are:
    <li>hcmPayroll/userTables/ui/public_html/oracle/apps/hcm/userTables/ui/page/UserTableSearch.jsff --> This is the details page with header "Manage User-Defined Tables"
    <li>hcmPayroll/userTables/ui/public_html/oracle/apps/hcm/userTables/ui/page/ManageUserStructure.jsff --> This is the details page with header "User-Defined Table: <TABLE_NAME>"
    These would presumably be in EarHcmPayroll. I'll see if I can find out how the portlet content can be observed from the RT application..

  • Link Title field to custom display form in SharePoint 2013 blog site

    Hi,
    I have blog site in sharepoint 2013.
    I want to display the item in read only view of the selected item.So I have created one custom display form.
    Now I want to link this display form with the Title Field.
    So that when user click on the title field, the display form should show to view only the item and if the user is approver, can approve also.
    Please help me to achieve this.
    waiting for your quick response.
    Thank you!

    Hi  ,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display custom display form when users click on the title field.
    For achieving your demand, you need to implement an ihttpmodule and intercept the request. For more information, you can refer to the code as below:
    private void context_BeginRequest(object sender, EventArgs e)
    HttpApplication application = sender as HttpApplication;
    if (application != null && application.Context != null && application.Request != null)
    HttpRequest request = application.Request;
    HttpResponse response = application.Response;
    if (request.Url.ToString().ToLower().Contains(http://yoursite/libraryname))
    response.Redirect(newlocationurl);

  • How to make sub programs dependent on the parent program for ESS job in Fusion Applications.

    Hi Experts,
    We have a requirment to define the ESS jobs dependent on the parent program.
    Example:
    ESS_JOB_PARENT   -- Main ESS jobs which will trigger below mentioned jobs using "ess_runtime.submit_subrequest" through PL/SQL Package.
    ESS_JOB1                 -- Parent program has to wait will ESS_JOB1 is completed. If ESS_JOB1 is errored then parent program should also be errored.
    ESS_JOB2                 -- If ESS_JOB1 is successfull then Parent program should trigger ESS_JOB2 and it has to wait till ESS_JOB2 is completed. If ESS_JOB2 is error parent program should be errored.
    ESS_JOB3                 -- If ESS_JOB2 is completed successfully then parent program should trigger ESS_JOB3 and it has to wait till ESS_JOB3 is completed. If ESS_JOB3 is error then parent program should be errored.
    Any reference (document or sample code) are highly appericiated.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

    Is there a reason why "Job Set Steps" cannot be used, that is is there a reason you need to do this programmatically ?

    Kalyan,
    ECSF configuration is failing at the following code section in build file:
    <if>
    <os name="AIX"/>
    <then>
    <java classname="oracle.ecsf.util.ProvisioningUtil" fork="true" classpathref="ecsf.classpath" failonerror="true">
    <arg value="${temp.ecsf.config.file}"/>
    <sysproperty key="oracle.security.jps.config" value="${ecsf.jps.config}"/>
    <sysproperty key="javax.net.ssl.trustStore" value="${ecsf.ssl.truststore}"/>
    <env key="IBM_JAVA_OPTIONS" value="-Dibm.stream.nio=TRUE -Djavax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory=com.ibm.xml.xlxp.api.stax.XMLInputFactoryImpl -Djavax.xml.stream.XMLOutputFactory=com.ibm.xml.xlxp.api.stax.XMLOutputFactoryImpl -Djavax.xml.stream.XMLEventFactory=com.ibm.xml.xlxp.api.stax.XMLEventFactoryImpl"/>
    </java>
    </then>
    <else>
    <java classname="oracle.ecsf.util.ProvisioningUtil" fork="true" classpathref="ecsf.classpath" failonerror="true">
    <arg value="${temp.ecsf.config.file}"/>
    <sysproperty key="oracle.security.jps.config" value="${ecsf.jps.config}"/>
    <sysproperty key="javax.net.ssl.trustStore" value="${ecsf.ssl.truststore}"/>
    </java>
    </else>
    </if>
    We noticed that it is referring to ssl.trustStore which is similar to what you metioned earlier. Do you think this is causing the issue ? If so how can we disable it?
    Regards, Raj.

  • Adapters needed for Fusion Applications

    Hello Fusion Apps experts, can you please clarify my concern. Is there anything like OAM Adapter ?
    I am preparing for FA installation. Already identity management is installed and configured. Regarding adapters, I created 2 adapters for OVD to connect to OID -- User adapter and Change-Log Adatper.
    I saw somewhere that OAM adapter needs to be installed. Is there such thing like creating OAM Adapter for my FA installation ? I refered FA installation guide and there is nothing mentioned about adapters .
    Appreciate if someone can clarify my question.
    thanks
