Fusion Middlewar Enterprise Manager & RDBMS Security Store
Hello,
when using a weblogic soa domain configured with the realm to use RDBMS Security Store or adding a new SQLAuthProvider into the realm, the Fusion Middleware Enterprise manager does not show status of servers and deployed components anymore. Everything is red and the status column shows a clock.
It seems that Enterprise Manager Application does not work (cannot retrieve status of servers and deployed components) when using a SQL Auth provider or RDBMS Security store.
Does anyone have the same problem??
Database used: oracle 11g. SOA Suite 11.1.1.6
Thanks.

HasanHello,
The new problem is that sometimes this historical trace and data might got corrupted due to abnormal termination of EM.
In this case please take following steps:
1. check if there is enough space in the directories /traces and /data.
2. use the script IndexRebuilder.sh in EM installation folder to try to rebuild the data corrupted.
3. If there is any error appearing during executing the script, that means the historical data got corrupted and cannot be rebuilt. Proceed to next item (4).
4. As mentioned in the section 2.17 "Enterprise Manager Corrupted Data Files" in the IntroscopeFAQ.pdf attached in the NOTE 797147, the solution is to delete the directories /traces and /data and restart your EM to re-generate these directories. The side effect is that you will lose all historical data that is stored in the Enterprise Manager.

Automatically starting Oracle Enterprise Manager with chkconfig
Folks,
While Oracle Linux 6 is out (6.2 actually), Oracle has yet to get everything 'working out of the box' with 6.2. Right now (June 2012) you've got to download patches from Oracle, the new way to start services in Linux 6, upstart, doesn't work with all Oracle features yet, etc. Update: You can still use chkconfig with OL6.
Because of the above, I've been using Oracle Linux 5.8. Linux 5 uses something called chkconfig to register services. You first need to put a script in the right directory: /etc/rc.d/init.d. Linux looks in this directory for scripts and runs those scripts with either a start or stop after them depending on if the system is coming up or going down. Technically this happens every time you change your runlevel (google Unix runlevels for more info), not just when the system goes up or down.
Here's a script that you can put in /etc/rc.d/init.d. I named mine oracleEM:
[root@localhost ~]# cd /etc/rc.d/init.d
[root@localhost init.d]# vi oracleEM
Enter i to enter insert mode and then enter the below (or just copy and paste it)
*#!/bin/sh*
*#chkconfig: 2345 80 05*
*#description: Oracle Enterprise Manager*
ORA_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1
ORA_OWNER=oracle
ORA_SID=orcl
*# We're checking to see if ps returns 1 or 2 results for pmon_orcl*
*# If there are two, Oracle is running, one we are just seeing our grep*
ORACLE_STATUS=$(ps -eaf | grep pmon_$ORA_SID | wc -l)
*if [ ! -f $ORA_HOME/bin/emctl ]*
then
echo "Enterprise Manager startup: cannot start"
exit
fi
case "$1" in
*"start")*
*if [ $ORACLE_STATUS -lt 2 ]*
then
echo "Waiting for Oracle instance $ORA_SID to start before starting Enterprise Manager"
fi
*while [ $ORACLE_STATUS -lt 2 ];do*
echo "Waiting...."
sleep 5
ORACLE_STATUS=$(ps -eaf | grep pmon_$ORA_SID | wc -l)
done
su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole"
*"stop")*
su - $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl stop dbconsole"
esac
Press the Esc key to leave insert mode, then type *:wq* to write the file and quit.
We'll need to make the script executable, so we need to run the following command:
[root@localhost init.d]# *chmod +x oracleEM*
Finally we need to register the oracleEM script with Linux using the chkconfig command:
[root@localhost init.d]# *chkconfig --add oracleEM*
Now Enterprise Manager will start up automatically when you start your system, but only after Oracle has started.

Edited by: RichS on Jun 9, 2012 1:00 AMThe script you are using will not work for RHEL or Oracle Linux since it is incorrect and missing important coding.
You can probably fix the script by removing the dash (-) from the su command and adding the lockfile that is required for RHEL to process the stop routine at system shutdown. The dash will reset the shell environment and the startup won't work. You should also start it in the background in order not to prolong the system startup more then necessary.
lockfile=/var/lock/subsys/oracleEM
start)
su $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl start dbconsole &" &>/dev/null
touch $lockfile
stop)
su $ORA_OWNER -c "$ORA_HOME/bin/emctl stop dbconsole"
rm -rf $lockfile
...You do not need to start your Oracle instance before starting dbconsole. So there is no need for the "sleep" routine. You can start the Oracle Database control console even when the instance is down:
For instance:
<pre>
[oracle@vm005 ~]$ ps -ef | grep pmon
oracle 17749 10343 0 22:48 pts/3 00:00:00 grep pmon
$ emctl start dbconsole

Cannot start Enterprise Manager for Fusion Middleware 11g
Dear all,
Because I want to install Oracle EGRCM v8.0.1 in Linux x86_64, so I installed Oracle Weblogic 11gR1 and SOA Suite 11g first.
After installation successfully, I created a base_domain as default, and can start weblogic administration server ( http://localhost:7001/console ) successfully.
Now I want to use Enterprise Manager for Fusion Middleware 11g. Per "*Oracle® Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)*", the EM should be available now and the access URL should be http://localhost:7001/em . But when I try to access it, the following error returned:
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
+10.4.5 404 Not Found+
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
So I try to start with emctl in *$MW_HOME/oracle_common/bin/*, the error is as following:
+./emctl: line 387 /d02/Middleware/oracle_common/perl/bin/perl: No such file or directory+.
I check the path and find out that no directory named "perl" under */d02/Middleware/oracle_common*. So I try to copy the necessary dir from the dir installed Oracle Database 11g ( *$ORACLE_HOME* ), but it returns following error:
OC4J Configuration issue. /d02/Middleware/oracle_common/sysman/j2ee not found.
I try to copy necessary dir from *$ORACLE_HOME* but still cannot start EM.
Please give some advise about how I can start EM for Fusion Middleware 11g, any idea is appreciate!
Best Regards,

Hi Kenny
See this post of mine: Re: Fusion Middleware Console
For any SOA Domain, unless you have Enterprise Manager Facet enabled (during domain creation process or adding later on by extending it), you will not be able to access the EM Console. For quick testing, open config.xml file for your domain and check the modules specially em module as shown below. It should be there. This is for one of my SOA Cluster Domains with SOA on top of WLS 10.3.2
<app-deployment>
<name>em</name>
<target>AdminServer</target>
<module-type>ear</module-type>
<source-path>C:\beawls1032\user_projects\applications\soaDomainCluster1/em.ear</source-path>
<deployment-order>400</deployment-order>
<security-dd-model>DDOnly</security-dd-model>
<staging-mode>nostage</staging-mode>
</app-deployment>
Thanks
Ravi JeggaHello Ravi:
I too like Kenny experienced the EXACT same thing this morning. I was trying to figure out how to modify the formsweb.cfg and I remembered from when I install Oracle9i/10g AS a few years back, that it was on the Enterprise Manager Console for forms (different than the EM for the database). Well that's different than the consoles for Weblogic Server and Weblogic Server for Forms. I ran into the same errors Kenny did, and I followed your steps except that I did install into the domain the Enterprise Manager so when I looked at the config.xml I do see the same code that you posted above. Yet I still get the error when accessing
http://computer:7001/em
Also when trying to run emctl (I copied the perl directory from the database) and same error as Kenny. Any tips/clues?
I'm running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Oracle 11g (database, Fusion Middleware).
Thanks,

Installation of Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control
Hi All,
I am having a cluster of Oracle Weblogic server and Oracle HTTP server. I am trying to configure SSL on Oracle HTTP Server. After some online researches, there is an Fusion Middleware tool "Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control" that can be used to manage Oracle HTTP server and configure SSL. It appears that Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control comes with either Oracle SOA suite or Oracle WebCenter suite. However, in order to install both SOA and WebCenter for Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control, it seems that an database installation is needed. Does anyone know if I can install just the component of Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Contro directly from SOA or WebCenter suite without any other components and database?
Thanks,

Oracle 11g Fusion Middleware (11.1.1.3.0) Report Configuration Issue
=============================================
Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 11g Fusion Middleware (11.1.1.3.0) on Oracle Linux 5 and getting some issues while configuring. What's happening is that when I run my report, it looks for the library attached to it. If I define the REPORTS_PATH in reports.sh, it works fine.
What I want to achieve is to push reports to use REPORTS_PATH environment variable from rwserver.conf instead of reports.sh
Someone told me to remove the REPORTS_PATH from reports.sh and add the REPORTS_PATH from reports.sh to a default.env in rwserver.conf, but it didn't worked.
What I know about the report server stuff in 11g Fusion Middleware is that it consists of two different servers (Standalone and In Process). Our application runs report using SRW.RUN_REPORT which basically use In Process report server setting in rwserver.conf to run the report.
The heirarchy in which reports try to look for the REPORTS_PATH is
1) REPORTS.sh
2) rwserver.conf
3) Settings as per Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Settings.
My standalone report server name is ReportsServer_hostname_asinst_F and the In Process Server name is rep_wls_reports_hostname_asinst_frd. When I define rep_wls_reports_hostname_asinst_frd (In process Report Server Name) for the server name parameter, I do not get any results for the report run using srw.run_report. Also I can't see the reason behind the report executed because of the following issue
http://hostname:8888/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=rep_wls_reports_hostname_asinst_frd
REP-51019: System user authentication is missing.
** the Singlesignon in rwservlet.properties is defined as no
But when I define ReportsServer_hostname_asinst_F (Standalone Report Server Name) as server parameter and ran the report using srw.run_report, I get result with the REPORTS_PATH defined in reports.sh not using rwserver.conf file.
http://hostname:8888/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=ReportsServer_hostname_asinst_F
(which shows the report just run).
Can someone who did Report Server configuration using ENV files (changing rwserver.conf), pls. send me the screenshots. Want to make sure if I am changing the correct files under correct location.
Pls. feel free to ask me questions related to the environment set up.

HarishHi Michael,
Thanks for your valuable inputs.
Below line in CRMS_KR.htm was causing the problem because while directly hitting the CRMS_KR.htm we had hard-coded all the tag values which in other case is read from formweb.cfg
Before:
*<PARAM NAME="serverURL" VALUE="/forms/lservlet?ifcfs=/forms/frmservlet?acceptLanguage=en-us">*
We modified it to
After:
*<PARAM NAME="serverURL" VALUE="/forms/lservlet">*
Now we are able to hit the below URL sucessfully
http://scrmskr.apac.nsroot.net:7801/forms/html/CRMS_KR.htm
Thanks & Regards,
Harish -
Issue with Enterprise Manager 11g
When I start the db console I am given the message
Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance, The state of the components are listed below.
All components are listed with green arrows indicating they are up
After reading a few posts here I have attempted to use EMCA to drop and re create the repository and settings
I have run the command 'emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop' to try and do this but it just hangs
Looking in the logs I can see the follow (only the last few lines added to keep it short)

Oracle Enterprise Manager Console Login issue
HI Guys,
I have installed Oracle 10g on my Windows 7 64 bit system and have trouble running Oracle Enterprise Manager Console.
When I open Oracle Enterprise Manager Console it prompts me for a Hostname and SID parameters. For which I have given my System name as the parameter and orcl as the SID.
Then I get an error saying that " Failed to parse tnsnames.ora file ServiceAliasException: 11 "
Please Help!!
Thank you!!

How to develop and run skripts agains fusion middleware managed servers, eg. MDS
Hi!
Is it possible to write and run scripts against fusion middleware home's?
How can I change to the correct wlst in this case?
I have declared my server.
I think it should call $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin/wlst.sh on my server instead of an local wlst.cmd in my OEPE workspac.
Eg. I try to export MDS with wlst from one server as described in:
13 Managing the Metadata Repository (12g Release 1 (12.1.2))http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/core/ASADM/repos.htm#CIHHFEAJ
If I write my script, then for the keyword exportMetadata is shown an error in the gutter:
Undefined variable: exportMetadata
If I run this I get:
Problem invoking WLST - Traceback (innermost last):
File "C:\Oracle\JDEV11~1\ORACLE~1\common\wlst\mdsWLSTCommands.py", line 237, in exportMetadata
Kind regardsSorry, this seems to be working now. I just have to close all applications in order for the memory to call the actual BPEL process
