Fusion vis-a vis EBS

I'm not sure but people around say that once Oracle Fusion comes into play, and clients shift into this mode, Oracle apps technical consultants will have a
tough time as Developer forms and reports will become passe. Knowldege of Java will become an absolute necessity, and all reports will be developed in XML.
I have a few queries in this context.
a) How is Fusion expected to be different from the 11i and 12i EBS packages used today?
b) When is Fusion expected to come into prominence?
c) Are technical consultants indeed going to struggle in this scenario?

A couple of the things I have been told:
Forms will not be part of Fusion
Fusion will be a completely new application (i.o.w. it is not a combined product of all the applications that Oracle has acquired over the last years).
Will technical consultants be struggling? well, that is hard to tell. We will all have to struggle, I guess, to get used to this new application.

You can find Indicator: Clearing between customer and vendor in Payment transaction accounting (company code data) Section of the master record.
Indicates that during automatic payment transactions, clearing is made with the corresponding customer account, and that during manual clearing procedures, the items of that customer account are also selected.
Procedure
To use this function in automatic payment transactions, you have to
o   enter the customer account number in the vendor master record,
o   enter the vendor account number in the customer master record,
o   select the "Clearing with vendor" indicator in the customer master record, and
o   select the "Clearing with customer" indicator in the vendor master record.

Passing object vis-a-vis ThreadLocal, storage...

Hi,
I came across the ThreadLocal object in Java docs.
As per my understanding we could use it store 'common object references' that are required by methods invoked down the line vis-a-vis instead of passing the 'common object references' to all concerned
methods as parameters.
For eg, In a database transaction, the java.sql.Connection object needs to be the same in all crud operations involved so that it can either commited/ rollbacked in one shot.
Am I correct ?

Negligible, if you're concerned about that you shouldn't be writing Java.
To elaborate my scenario....
Say I have a User business object (the db stores the user details and the products he wishes to buy)
So the User BO, will call a singleton - DatabaseSession.startSession(), which obtains a java.sql.connection
to the db and stores it in a local (static) variable of type ThreadLocal.
The BO invokes the UserDAO and ProductDAO in sequence and commits to database (using the same connection, which
can be retrieved from the ThreadLocal var in the singleton).
What I wanted to know was the performance statistics in the scenarios of....
1. keeping the connection instance in a ThreadLocal accessible to all DAO
versus
2. Passing the connection instance to all concerned DAO methods as parameters.

A Lightroom license can be activated on any two installs regardless of platform but the use of only one at at time is permitted.

Hello, I do have question. I recently got approved for Venture One for 3k SL. My question is why is it VISA not a VISA SIGNATURE.What is the diffrence of VISA and VISA SIGNATURE. Thanks

Don't be too upset about not getting the Signature... it's not that big of a deal unless you are into really high-end hotels. Actually, the only useful perk I can think of is the movie ticket perk with Fandango. Once your credit line is $5K or greater you can likely have Capital One change your account over, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. One other thing that is different is a 'Signature' card will be on your credit report as a "Flexible Spending Account" instead of "Revolving". When they first came out some folks had problems because they didn't report a credit limit (similar to Amex charge cards) which messed up the utilization on their credit scores, but this has been corrected. The 'Flexible Spending Account' means that in theory you are able to charge above the credit limit, with the overage amount due in full in addition to the usual minimum payment. However, in reality not too many folks on here ever exercise that feature, since doing so would make the card report to the credit bureau as 'maxed out', possibly (likely) lowing your credit score. It's also been discussed if the 'feature' is even there at all, since CSRs are usually not too keen on telling folks it's OK to disregard their credit limit (specifically and especially Capital One) so most folks with Signature cards treat the CL as the 'real' CL even though they should be able to charge over it. All this being said, I have two Visa cards with the exact same credit limits. One happens to be a Signature, the other is not, and I honestly can't tell a bit of difference between the two.

Please help me out from this, here my issue is the fi doc is not matching with co doc. for particular docu were posted without cost centre.but out one docu was getting updated in controlling doc one is not getting updated.
The difference is Rs.1500/- in this case. It has been identified as line item no.9 which does not have a cost center. If that is the reason of the same getting
not reflected in cost center download, how does figure of line item no.10 gets accounted for ??

The TDMS VIs probably are better, but I started this project before they were available, and I spent a considerable amount of time with the TDM Header Writer VIs to create my file format. I don't use the TDM VIs to write the files; I do that all with my own binary format that is fast and efficient. I also stripped out all the extraneous gunk that the TDM files like to put in, and customized the files with my own properties. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the time necessary to read and write properties, but it's too late now to replace the whole system with a database backend.
Anyway, I'm hopeful that there is a solution to this problem. I doublechecked all the options in the installer and app build specifications, and I didn't see the checkbox for Storage VI Support. I have a fuzzy memory of this; is it possible that it existed in a previous version of the builder?

Visit Plan - Visit Schedule - Activities

Hi all,
I'm finding myself on a scenario that I think there is a huuuge gap in CRM.
I need to Plan Customer visits, therefore I use the "Visit Plan".
After creating visit Plan XX, I use the Visit Schedule to create Sales Call activities.
Once they are created, there is no any traceability with the original Visit Plan!!!!
Has anyone come across this gap???

VISA write is located in the VISA pallet and in the serial pallet. This is for convenience but they are the same node.

I tried sliding the STOP AND SNOOZE button,....doesnt work...??

Let me guess, you are pressing the slide animation as if it was a button?
Instead of pressing it have you tried swiping your finger across the screen in the direction the arrow is moving?
You'll find that if you swipe it works as that's the way it was designed to work. It's also the same for answering calls (when the screen is locked).

Note to Terence vis-a-vis corrupted library

Hi Terence,
I created a new library. I'm dragging my photos from the 'originals' folder into the new library. I'm getting a pop up message saying 'Unreadable Files'. Almost a thousand files from the original library are now 'unreadable'.
"The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)."
And yet, all those files look just fine, were in yesterday's iPhoto Library before it got corrupted, and all open easily into Preview or Photoshop. Nothing wrong with them.
What might this be, do you think? Anything to do with the originals being on an external drive? Or do you see another problem here?

You will get that message if you're dragging from the active iPhoto Library to the iPhoto Window. However, as you're making a new library it should not arise.
Some things to try. Drag a folder of images to the desktop first. Then into the new iPhoto Window. See if that helps.
If it doesn't, open one of the files with Preview and save it again. Then see if it will import.

Problem With MC.1 Report vis-a-vis chnage in Division

Dear All,
I am facing some problem related with MC.1 Report.
The problem is basically due to Change in DIVISION field after doing MIGO.
At the time of Material upload, wrong Division was uploaded. While analyzing the MC.1 report basis the Division, we came to know that the Report is wrong due to wrong Division in Material Master.
We rectified the Division, ran the MC.1 report, we found that the Stock is getting displayed in both the (old & new) Divisions based on the Transaction date.
Would like to know is there any method thru which we can update the Old Transactional Records (related with Division) so that we can get the correct report.

I want to pass an array of java objects to a stored procedure and I will use them for table insertion or updation.
Say I have a table TASK at DataBase end while the same TASK object is there at JAVA end.
I want to pass an array of Task objects via my stored proc
Please guide me how shall I use java.sql.Array and java.sql.SQLDataType etc etc. any mechanism in store!..

Files in Bridge vis-a-vis files in Book panel

I just discovered that files in Bridge do not update when the file is opened, modified, and saved in the Book panel.
Do I need to do a Save As to update the files in Bridge? I'll be sending the individual files in Bridge to the print service bureau.
Right now I need to ftp the files to our tech editor. I take it I'd be better off sending individual files from Bridge rather than sending the .indb file, right. I can just imagine the cute little running Fetch puppy morphing into a snarling Pit Bull if I tried uploading the .indb file, which is about 2GB right now.

I appreciate the feedback. I'll definitely not send the individual files as a book. Other than that, the print service bureau requests the live INDD files, links, and fonts--not PDFs.
We've already done wet proofs, which were mainly to make sure I had the color corrections right. They're perfect, which was a big relief because I've never done color correction before. The wet proofs included a dozen or so scanned and Photoshopped photos from two pamphlets printed before 1920. We were worried about a moire effect, but the scanning was done correctly. The vintage photos in the wet proofs are wonderful.
We've also done digital proofs of 24 pages from the book and wet proofs of the cover. They wanted all of the PSD, AI, and of course, the INDD files, along with the fonts. Again, the proofs are perfect. There are litterally hundreds of illustrations and photos images in the book (it akes a 16GB flash drive to back up the project), so I've had to be meticulous about mainintaing the file-naming conventions and folder organization.
To wit, getting all of the digital ducks in a row is the least of my worries. My biggest worry is hitting the disk-out date.
One thing I can say for certain: InDesign is a MIRACLE. If it were a guy, I'd ask it to marry me.
