SAP Mentor needed in Fort Collins, Colorado
Hello SAP Mentors,
We have a request from Colorado State University for a speaker to discuss SAP ERP, implementation success factors and answer questions about integrated systems. Do we have a mentor who lives in the Fort Collins, CO area that would be interested in speaking with a university class about these topics?
Thanks,
Alex McLeod"Once upon a time..." someone created an SAP Mentor Map. I found it, easily enough, with google (search: sap mentor map). It's a bit dated, let's just say. I think Jamie Oswald is the closest, but it's quite a haul. Vijay is listed in Arizona, which is also far away from Kansas, I mean Colorado, but he's on the Emeritus list.

Who should be an SAP Mentor? Please nominate! - Deadline 26th. Feb
Hi all,
The SCN Team is looking for new Mentors.
SAP Mentors are the top community influencers of the SAP Ecosystem. Most mentors work for customers or partners of SAP. All of them are hands-on experts of an SAP product or service, as well as excellent champions for product roll-in and roll-out. They have been nominated by their peers on the basis of their passion for the community and their willingness to contribute and share as well as motivate others.
Please take a look at the Blog here: /people/mark.finnern/blog/2010/02/15/who-should-be-an-sap-mentor-please-nominate
Or directly
vote here: http://bit.ly/sapmentornomination
Deadline for the nomination is Friday the 26th of February
P.S: Top 3 Contributors, of the last 30 days: 1. Gordon Du (1,730); 2. János Nagy (358); 3. Thanga Raj.K (344)But I don´t like the concept of wikis. I don´t understand who, why, when will change my content. And I don´t want anybody to do that. But these are only my personal feelings and I can work on this.
I am also sceptical about them. I created some wikis, but no one else contributes further to them. It is however the rather "niche" type of wiki.
If you let the people to create these "personal learning paths", people will try.
There was a guy in the MM forums who documented every transaction in SAP by asking for link-farms to anything relating to the tcode. We stopped him too late.
If there were a new mechanism how to do things it would attract people. I can imagine for example Chintan Virani to run his own "Portal school your youngsters" etc.
Probably I would enrole as a fresher. I like Chintan, and in my free time look up to see his recent posts.
My offer stands if you want to do anything security related. If you initiate it, I will join for sure. There are also existing initiatives which you can join - see the functionality wishlist.
One last thing: American presidents ask who should they call to talk with Europe. There is no such number. And there is no such place here on SDN.
Regarding your reference to the "grouping" notion (BEGRU heh??) - I am currently trying to learn Hindi. Actually, Bollycat Urdu. SDN is for me a natural platform to find such people and I have many friends from India met via SDN. I also need a mentor for this but it is tough to achieve without disturbing others in the public realm.
If anyone would like to help me, then we can use the non-English playground forum. The background is to attend TechEd Bangalore 2010 and be able to understand (more or less) what is going on around me.
Cheers,
Julius -

Who to reverse the OSV if it is reverse what is the future problem in SAP?
Who to reverse the OSV (Asset) if it is reverse what is the future problem in SAP?

What video format (including embedded audio) is able to be viewed and heard by both OSX Lion users and Windows users?
You have to make a distinction between the container format (eg, AVI, MKV) and the video/audio format (eg, DIVX). For instance, without additional software, QuickTime can play .avi files with the IndeoVideo codec, but not .avi file with the DivX codec). Further, you have to make the distinction between what can be played using an independent player, eg, QuickTime Player, and what can be played within the presentation software (Keynote or PowerPoint).
You can refer to
<http://mac2.microsoft.com/help/office/14/da-dk/powerpoint/item/7acce321-36fb-48d 6-8c76-12cb3a0063ee>
for suggestions. In practice, for presentation clips, I think you're limited to MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. I don't know if an additional MPEG-2 QuickTime component is required under Lion, you'll have to check that yourself. So, in the end, it's MPEG-4. Both Keynote and PowerPoint Win/Mac should be able to handle it.
can anyone suggest a safe application that I can purchase from the apple app store that will allow me to convert video files
What's a 'safe application'? And why do you have to buy it from the App Store (yuck!)?
Handbrake, as mentioned by X423424X, is free and works very well. There are probably others, too.
this forum is the best place to learn
Perhaps, but it may not be the place to get answers to this question. Try a PowerPoint Mac user forum, they would have more experience in these x-platform issues. This forum is oriented more towards the hardware side of the MBP platform. -

CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE
Or look in the IMG at:

Calls between salesforce and crm sap using jco
Hi,
My requirement is as follows:
Tight integration of SFDC and SAP CRM in order to make Business Partners in sync across the systems. This will be a two way integration wherein any changes made to any business partner must be reflected in the other system upon batch/ real-time execution.
I am currently using jco to interact with the crm sap system.
What am i supposed to do from salesforce side in order to make the 2 systems talk?

WebDav Service for /SAP/BW/PUBLIC/ Folder
Hello
How can I create a Webdav service for a specific Folder in SE80 MimeRepository. There is one content Folder for the /SAP/BC/BSP/ but I need a Folder for /SAP/BW/PUBLIC/.
Thank you for your help.
DanielDaniel,
It's just a matter of specifying CL_O2_HTTP_WEBDAV in the handler list of that service in SICF.

BO - Future for the SAP BW Consultant
Hello Experts
Can anyone (preferably from SAP themselves) explain what the future of the SAP BW/BI Consultant will be now that BO is the main focus for the future?
What is recommended as the path forward for an existing SAP BW/BI Consultant so that they can remain employable?
Regards
SeanThink of the marriage of SAP BW and Business Objects as really being "best of both worlds". SAP BW, in the past and up to today, really doesn't have good tools for the presentation of reports and that's where Business Objects really shined.
On the other hand, Business Objects have Rapid Marts which are great for quickly getting reporting started, but only for detailed, operational type reporting in a subject area silo approach. SAP, however, is a complete data warehouse by definition whereby you have data marts, operational data stores and star schemas in order to support analytic reporting with drilldown capabilities.
Well, that's where SAP is going with SAP BW and Business Objects. The front-end tools will be moving to Business Objects tools where are far superior over legacy SAP front-end tools. On the back-end, the only changes being made is that Business Objects Data Integrator will be introduced into the SAP BW space for ETL of non-SAP source systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, Taxware, etc) and as a pre-PSA translation tool using extractors for SAP source systems. The standard content, whether on SAP applications or in SAP BW, that SAP has developed is not going away and is still going to be enhanced. They will, however, offer Rapid Marts as a solution for quick implementation and for smaller companies.
So, the knowledge that any good, experienced SAP BW consultant has won't be trashed. They'll have to learn some more tools however, which isn't really a bad thing. -
Hello everyone,
I would like to highlight that the SAP Mentor nomination is open again. You can read the details here in Mark Finnern's blog (/people/mark.finnern/blog/2010/02/15/who-should-be-an-sap-mentor-please-nominate).

Anytime I try to go to the SAP Mentor space at SAP Mentors it takes me straight to TechEd Online http://events.sap.com/teched/en/myinfo.aspx and wants profile information.
How can I stay on the SAP Mentor space without immediately getting redirected? Is there is a bug on the main space page?Hi Tammy, I can confirm, this happens to me too.
There is widget in the middle of the overview space, when this is finished loading it opens this registration window:
if you are quick and can reach the stop loading button in your browser before it is finished with loading, then you can stay.
Mark Finnern is space editor and can probably fix this
