Future subscription for PS Photo Program

Once the current offer expires for the Photoshop Photography Program, and at the end of the 12 month subscription, what will be the likely future subscription for the Program and, if too high for and individual's need, can you revert to existing, already paid for, Lightroom 5 and Photoshop 5 applications, using the current libraries?

I asked adobe this exact question before I signed up (though I was asking about PS6 not 5) and the answer was an unequivocal yes, you can.
That said, they may put enough new features in our catalogs that won't work with older versions of PS or LR that it may not be all that practical, but that remains to be seen.
I'm not worrying about it at this point as it seems like the price will likely remain "competitive" for the Photographer's subscription.

Switch from CC subscription to Photo Program

Signed up for Photo Program in Nov in anticipation of my CC subscription ending in Dec. Got confirmation, order number, have the Photo Program listed in My Adobe, and have been billed in Nov & Dec, yet now that my CC subscription is ended when I open PS CC I get the message "We are having trouble verifying your membership" with warning that I only have x number of days remaining (now down to 1). It's as if the two different Adobe programs aren't aware of each other. Do I have to re-download or something? BTW, in PS it shows me signed in with the email address connected to My Adobe account.

How to make a photo STAY in the assets panel for future use for In browser editing?
When I delete a photo from a page, it does not stay in the assets panel. My client uses in browser editing daily. Once a week he changes a photo just for a day, then needs the previous photo to replace it. The original photo is not in the asset panel (or folder) for him to choose.
When you upload a photo, it has an arrow in the asset panel. How do you use this as an asset?

CC (2014) Photo Program and other CS6 apps - Updates for CS6 to CC (2014)?

I have the CS6 Design & Web Premium apps installed, plus the Creative Cloud Photo Program option (PS and LR).
With the new CC (2014) release today I'm being offered CC (2014) updates for all the CS6 programs that I have that aren't in the Photo Program (i.e. Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, etc). Surely this isn't right. Shouldn't it be asking if I want to Install or Try them rather than providing an update?
If I go ahead and update will it start charging me more? Its a bit confusing!

I installed all the updates, including the CC 2014 programs. I am not being charged for them. However, they are not updates to the other programs. I now have 2 versions of all my CS6 programs installed on my computer. The CC 2014 programs are now default, for some reason, and when I open them they ask me if I want to start a free trial or if I want to put in a license code. My CS6 code doesn't work, obviously, but I tried anyway. I'm a little annoyed that this was offered to me like it was an update for my programs, even though it wasn't. And if I uninstall them, I am afraid that it is going to tell me that I have "updates" and try to install these programs again.

Photoshop Elements 9 for Mac as only photo program

Can PE9 for MAC be used as only photo base on my MACbook? That is, dispense with IPhoto (which is the only MAC program I find cumbersome). If so, will I be able to upload to other websites from PE9?

You don't have to use iphoto or any organizer, including the one in PSE, if you don't want to. So, yes you can use PSE as your only photo program, although if do want to use PSE as a photo organizer as well, I would try it out first with a test catalog to be sure it meets your needs.
I myself don't use any kind of software organizer, just files and folders, use PSE for editing, and then go into iphoto or organizer only when needed for a particular project. It's totally up to you how you want to do it.

If your needs are limited to those tasks then both Preview and iPhoto will fit the bill They are already on your Mac. There is a free download from Google called Picasa available here:

Are you asking about Lightroom or Photoshop? Lightroom is a "good program" for all kinds of photos. Why don't you download a trial and determine for yourself.

Differences between single subscription for Creative Cloud for Photoshop and Photo plan Creative Cloud?

the differences between the Photo plan and the single subscription to Photoshop.
The photo plan has both Lightroom and Photoshop but costs less than the single subscription for Photoshop.
Any clue? What am I going to miss in the photo plan?
Considering that I already have Lightroom 5 licence (not CC), I was evaluating it but I'd like to understand the price/service differencies.

What exactly are you trying to do?
Have you been editing photos in iPhoto and want to add them to your camera rool or photo stream?
Then do exactly as the article describes, that you lonked to:
iPhoto for iOS: Photos in Camera Roll are not updated automatically with edits from iPhoto
Use iPhoto's Sharing to save a copy of the edited photo to the Caera Roll, or explain on mor e detail, what you want to do.

I have a 9.99 subscription for lightroom and photoshop. I only use lightroom and would like to try new version 6, which I think I should be eligible under subscription plan. I can't figure out how to upgrade my existing copy. Creative Cloud doesn't offer this option.

Quadro or GeForce for still-photo editing?

I am an IT consultant who has one professional photographer as a client, and she needs a new workstation for still-photo editing using Photoshop CC. I asked her to ask her professional community about the best video card to use, and I got back "I need a video card with mercury graphics engine, over 1 gig. of ram (the more the better)." I have read about Quadro cards until my eyes bled, and I think they may not be the best suited for still-photo editing, at least from the perspective of performance vs. cost.
Her current workstation has a 1GB ATI FirePro V5800 card, 6GB memory, a three-drive RAID 5 array that is split into her C: and data partitions, and a single Xeon CPU. It is a pig.
New computer build (so far):
ASUS Z97-A LGA1150 motherboard
Windows 8.1 Pro (with Start8 start menu replacement)
Intel Core i7-4790 CPU
32GB memory
480GB SSD boot drive (current boot drive has 201GB used)
240GB SSD "active projects" drive (only $44 more than a 120GB SSD)
4TB SATA 7200RPM data drive for finished projects
Multiple 3TB drives for onsite and offsite backups
The only piece missing (?) is which video card to get. I deal almost exclusively with business workstations, not specialized markets like photography editing, so I bow to your knowledge in helping me decide between Quadro vs. GeForce vs. ???

I'm no expert, but I built a PC about a year ago and did a lot of research into this. I found a lot of conflicting opinions on it, but most of the actual data I looked at suggested that I wasn't going to see a significant boost in performance, for still photography, by adding a GPU (over a good Intel chip). The integrated graphics performed surprisingly well in the benchmarks versus all but the top of the line GPUs. So I concluded that unless I was prepared to spend $500 on a GPU I'd stick with the integrated, and I could always upgrade later. Never felt the need to upgrade. Everyone uses Photoshop differently, and your client may have use for it. But I think a lot of people buy the most expensive machine they can afford even when it's overkill. I'd consider myself a moderately heavy PS user; I like to do big composites (60+ layers) and I do architectural work that sometimes has dozens of frames from a full frame camera. I don't do video, nor use the niche filters like oil that were heavy on GPUs. But I use a lot of layers, and am somewhat heavy with actions and batching. YMMV.
But, a caveat: I use CS6, which doesn't have many GPU accelerated features that I use. It looks like that is changing with CC, and hopefully more so in the future. So perhaps it would be prudent for you to put one in. Truthfully I don't think there's much a difference between brands so long as they're on the compatibility list.
I also did a lot of research into RAM, because Windows 7 caps at 16 gb for the basic version. At the end of the day I convinced myself that 16 would be sufficient, and I've kept an eye on my useage in photoshop and found that it has. I don't do video work, but my projects are usually pretty large (2 gb+). Everybody has different uses
Sorry to drone on: But I also looked into the traditional 4 disc setup recommend for image processors. I couldn't get a concrete answer on whether this setup still makes a significant performance increase when using SSDs. I ended up just getting an SSD for programs, OS, and working files. Then a huge slow HDD (5600 RPM) for storage. Plus backups. I since upgraded the hard drive and used my old one for scratch - really just to take the "wear and tear" off my main drive.
