Future tabs

Will Oracle APEX consider to convert the current "Tabs" in APEX into a list in the future? This will make it easier for developers to build list-based menu and sub-menus declaractively.

I am just curious why the carriers decided to give consumers in the US the shaft on this device. Will this be the policy for future tabs as well? Is this your way of trying to force people into keeping up with 2 devices?

Yep, 2 devices, means 2 lines, and a higher ARPU. It's called Capitalist Protectionism, and it's a crucial element in the American Corporate Business Model. They didn't want to offer voice plans on this device so as not to canibalize smartphone sales, data plans only so they ripped the phone dialer out.
But...that's ALL they did. If you look in the settings menu > wireless networks. At the bottom is a PRL update/activate phone function. What that is, is a phone dialer pre-programmed to *228 that calls verizon and does what *228 option 1 on a smartphone does. Pretty music, robo-lady, SPL unlock, the whole bit. So the phone WORKS.
Also, XDA Developers have managed to reflash T-Mobile's Tab with the Euro version of the unit's HSPA radio software, and guess what...the dialer works on that Tab too. Only problem there is the Euro 3G bands are different frequencies than T-Mo's AWS band so no 3G when you install that radio. But again, the phone WORKS.
So I suspect before too long someone will write a dialer that works with VZW's Tab and put it in the Market. Or if enough pressure is put on the carriers, they might issue an update with the dialer eabled on smartphone plans. It's all up to you folks. So get on the stick and scream.

Random check before releasing price updation in costing run

Hi all,
Before releasing the price with standard cost estimate how we have to check the correctness of prices & costs of materials.
Please suggest any standard SAP solution is available or any other way to check correctness of cost estimate & prices of materials.

If you are doing the costing run through ck40n then you can see the error message if any generated against the marking. If there is no items for which there is any error, then u can release the cost.
Next you can take a sample checkup of the Material Master Costing 2 tab to see whether there is any amount entered under the future tab with the posting period as the period for which the costing is done.

2. Budget for business area is not possible wheras functional location wise budget is their in fund management .

Font substitution when Embedding fonts

The font embedding controls in FFCore's Optimize component include the ability to upload and select a Font Substitution Configuration File: To recap the documentation:The Font Substitution Configuration File option defines the pdfToolbox configuration file that will be used when embedding fonts.This configuration file controls font substitution behavior in Optimize. Fonts are embedded as subsets. Fonts are not embedded if they have a flag indicating that embedding is not allowed. The Embed missing fonts fixup in pdfToolbox Desktop preflight profiles includes an option to select a Font substitution policy: If you select the Open folder with configuration files you will see the text files that control font substitution. Although pdfToolbox Desktop comes with 3 predefined font substitution policies, additional ones can be created by duplicating an existing policy file and editing it (you will have to restart acrobat to see the changes). The prefix on the filname controls the display order of the font policies within pdfToolbox. I would also ensure there are no spaces in any new filenames. No email tabs- switch pages, clock sending-time incorrect- future-time,no paragr.

Since the last rebuild, when many were locked out of email without any forewarning or notification of the rebuild, so that they would KNOW what was going on, the quality of Comcast email has declined drastically!1. I can no longer paragraph... everything is run together after the email is sent. The coding by Comcast in sloppy and inaccurate and no effort is being made to fix this! Some people care about punctuation and appearance of emails. Comcast does not. 2. The clock which says when the email was sent is inaccurate and is set at a time many hours in the future, which hasn't even occurred yet!!! 3. Transmission of emails is taking up to 48 hours to be received!!! Abyssmal Comcast service!! Maybe the transmission time is wrong on purpose, to cover up the fact that the transmission took 48 hours??? 4. There are no longer tabs at the top to switch from email to email. We need this function restored!!! 5. Why are there so few choices regarding font, etc. Why is there no stationery like Yahoo provides, for sending special greetings? How hard is that to code??? No effort made by Comcast.... only empty promises and apologies.... and they take your money anyhow without fixing defects.

Yes, it seems to be a kernel bug. Previously, my wife used Windows for years and nothing like this happened. Now, she tells a lot about Linux systems :-)

I'd like to save the URLs of the group of pages tabbed in one particular FF window to be reloaded en masse when I use FF again some time in the future

I have a lot of browser tabs currently and I will not have finished using them by the time I next reboot, shutting down Firefox. On the other hand there are too many to fit neatly in one FF window so I've opened a 2nd window and moved a bunch over. Now I want to know how I can make sure FF will remember all the tab URLs when I start it again - and how I can be sure it will load them up in separate windows as presently. Because I have a feeling it will just dump them all in the one window. But there's too many to make that useful! On Opera you can save a 'session' with a particular selection of tabbed URLs, under a particular name, and then reload that session later. You can even start up several past sessions as separate windows at the same time. In that way you can select which groups of previous tabs you want to recall when. I'd like that in Firefox but I can't see anything to create it. :) What will happen for instance when I close the two current windows before rebooting? I suspect I will lose the record of the URLs in the window that is closed first, and only those of the 2nd to be recalled will come back when re-starting it. Basically there needs to be a "Save Group of Tabs" option on the File menu near "Save Page As...". On the other hand maybe this facility already exists and I just don't know how to find it?

How do I re-activate Firefox to ask me if I want to retain my tabs for a future work session?

A friend used my computer, and apparently de-activated my default setting of saving my current tabs when closing FireFox. How do I reactivate this option??

Can you create a backup of the app tabs for future importing?

I'd like to be able to save a backup file of my app tabs, kind of like how you can with the Bookmarks. This way in the event I lose them, or reformat the computer, not only can I restore my bookmarks, but I would be able to restore my app tabs too.

What happened to the future months / years tab with iOS 7?

My old calendar had a nice feature at the bottom of the calendar allowng me to select future months and "next year".
It's gone with the iOs & update - this is not progress as it now takes longer to find future months by swiping all the way throough each month in turn.
Someone needs to get a grip and not throw out everything just because they can...

If you are on, say, the daily view page, then tap the month in the upper left to get a month view, then tap the year in upper left to get a year view. In year view, swipe up/down go to the year whose month you want, then tap on the month and you're on month view. Works differently but just as quickly.

Multiple interactive reports/tab. forms: future or everlasting expectation?

At the end of September, the statement of direction for APEX is updated for 4.2.
I notice that there's not a word anymore about the possibility to use multiple interactive reports and tabular forms on one page (declarative, without the tricks described in so many blogs and forums).
Does this mean that it will never be possible or just not yet in 4.2?

Thanks for bringing this enhancement request up again. Allowing for multiple tabular forms or multiple interactive reports on one page is still a feature that we’re considering for a future release of Oracle Application Express. But we honestly don’t know yet whether this is going to make it into APEX 4.2 or a later release. And yes, there’s certainly a chance that this may proof to be too disruptive to the current implementation, and thus require a different approach. I realize this isn’t the answer you were looking for, but all we can say that we’re still actively looking into making this possible as a standard feature.

BI Content Tab goes missing in between the Project

Hi Experts,
I have been finding a very strange behaviour in the BI 7 System of late. The BI Content tab has gone missing suddenly and its been more than a week till now. We have been installing and activating BI Objects regularly and suddenly one day its gone blank. I am a Tech Manager and was surprised when my consultant told me that BI Content tab is missing. I wanted to check if anyone else has faced this problem and if so whats the way out. Pls also let me know what are the reasons behind this so as to not repeat these mistakes in future. Would appreciate an immediate response - Swami.

This is surprising.
Check, whether you are able to access BI content from menu (RSA1->Goto-> Install BI Content)
Adjust the screen resolution and check whether the BI content tab is hidden.
Also check in tcode : RSORBCT.

Unable to update a field using the Data tab on a VIEW

When viewing data using a VIEW instead of going to the table directly, am unable to change the values in any of the fields
When I click on the list of VIEWs for a schema, then select a view that is based on a SELECT statement for a single table with a Primary key, and then click on the DATA tab to modify the value in one of the fields, SQL Developer does not allow me to change the value.
Went into SQL Plus, and was able to execute an UPDATE statement against the same row of that VIEW, and update that field ("UPDATE vw_mytable SET thisfield = 'YES' WHEN row_id_number = 1'").
Does SQL Developer not allow updating tables through a VIEW?
Will it allow updating in the future? Please say yes.
Oracle 10g DB and latest version of SQL Developer.

FYI -- Tab Index and Safari 4 (Mac)

I finished building a website recently and had incorporated Tab Sets on a few different pages. Additionally some Accordion Sets as well. Didn't think anything of it and finished off the project - let the site go live and haven't thought much about it since - except to tweak a few things and make some minor edits at the request of the client.
One thing I had noticed repeatedly during the last half of the project as I was testing was all of a sudden this semi-translucent - grey - maybe 6px thick border would appear every time I clicked on a Tab or Accordion Tab (see screenshot below - No - the project was not for IHOP - just an example to show). During this time the Safari 4 Beta had come out and I had grabbed a copy to play with. Lots of interesting stuff in the Beta and several things I have noticed there and in the Final release. For one thing Safari 4 Beta/ Final both handle Color Profiles different than Safari 3 or FF 2.x and 3.x. I had this muted green background image (PNG file) that would show up fine in FF or Safari 3 but Safari 4 Beta/ Final both had it showing up as this bright Lime-green color. Even IE 7 had it showing correctly - and Explorer doesn't typically play nice with PNGs - even version 7.
Anyway - back to the Tabs. That prompted me to pay more attention to the differences in the versions. At first - I thought it might simply be some testing mechanism in the Beta. As it was also showing up in the WebKit Nightlies (look it up). But when Safari 4 Final was released this same grey box surrounding the Tabs/ Accordion Panels was still there. It was bothering me but I had more important things to tend to.
Tonight - I was testing something unorthodox with Tabbed Panels (no dirty thoughts) - just trying something out a client had mentioned they'd like done with their site. Leave it to a random client to ask for the impossible and expect it to happen. Yay! Well as I was testing stuff out there this grey border/ box was again. I went out to Adobe's Site - Apple's Site - Yahoo - and a couple of other big names that I knew had some form of Tabbed Paneling. Their websites weren't doing it. Well - I couldn't vouch for anyone other than Adobe using the SPRY Framework and wondered why Adobe had no problem getting rid of this grey border but I couldn't.
The main site code was a little chaotic to start with - knew this from previous experience - so I jumped to the Labs and looked at the Tabbed Panels Samples:

Very interesting results. I found that some of the examples were showing the grey border while other were not - on the same sample page. Much easier than the main site as the code on the Labs Sample pages is straight forward and there for everyone to use.
Turns out it's the tabindex="0" element that gets listed along with the TabbedPanelsTab Class in the Tabbed Panels or the main Accordion DIV. I don't know whether there is a way to disable this or not - but it's what was default when I built my pages and inserted the SPRY Frameworks. And with a simple "Search and Replace" - it goes away rather easily. Once I figured that out - it was gone and that makes me like my client's new site just a little bit more.
Anyway - thought I'd share. I'm not following up on this or tracking it or whatever this forum has to do that sort of stuff with - like I said just an FYI (on the fly). The TabIndex element is good for Compliancy and Accessibility stuff - so it's nothing to totally kick to the curb. And I'll probably have to later go back and figure out a balance between the annoying grey border and compliancy demands at some point in the future - but I'll jump off that bridge when I get there.

The border that you are referring to is called the outline. It usually helps the users to identify where they have clicked.
You can simply delete the outline by adding the following to affecting css selector in your style sheet:
outline:none;

Spry Dynamic Tabs - reCAPTCHA is missing when loading external php file

I have solved all my problems lately on this forum.
But now im converting my site to use Dynamic tabs, and something goes wrong.
The dynamic tabs load content from external files. It loads html but i think something goes wrong with php and my buttons.
You need to know ALL is working perfect on the old site.
2 problems;
I dont know how to convert my buttons to this new style.
I dont know why the reCAP suddently is missing.
Why is reCAPTCHA missing?

Dont mind the extra javascripts they are not used for now (like SpryEffects.js) its for future use.

The html file loads like it should be, but the php form has problems.

The tab 1 displays a html file like it should.
The tab 4 displays the contact form but you will see the reCAPTHCA is missing.
I have really no clue why it happens, exept maybe its a PHP issue.
Maybe the script isnt compatible with non-html documents...
Can someone please tell me whats the problem and if there is a solution????

I tryd to put this straight into the title tags in the xml but obviously it wont work.
And i really dont have a clue how to change this.
My button has a mouseover img. Basicly its 2 buttons in 1 img stacked on top of each other.
