Fuzzy and Blurry Prints HP 4650

Hi,
I have a HP Color LJ 4650 that prints fuzzy and blurry photo's. Black text is ok. Have replaced magenta and yellow cartridges as well as the transfer belt. Recalibrated the printer but problem persists. Toner cartridges are all original HP's. Any thoughts on this issue, it could be mechanical and it could be electronic. Don't want to just start swapping out parts.Would appreciate any help.
Thanks,

Hello LaserAge.  I understand your photos are printing blurry.
What size are the photos you're printing and what is their resolution?
What application are you printing from?  Does the issue persist if you print from a different application?
What version of Windows are you printing from?
I'll keep an eye out for your response.  Have a good day.

When using Final Cut Express, the video in the Viewer window looks fine, but when I insert the video into the Canvas Timeline it appears to lose resolution, and look fuzzy and blurry. Are there preferences or settings for the Timeline that cause this?

Thanks David. I had to convert the mts file to Quick Time (using AunSoft Conversion software) before I could import it into Final Cut Express. And I made sure I kept the size of movie (720 X 480 with letterbox) to compliment what I set my Panaconic AVCCAM video recorder at (720/60). Even after I fully render it, it still looks fuzzy in the Canvas window at the right that plays what I have editing down in the Timeline. A friend that edits some using Final Cut Pro helped me to narrow things down to this problem. This is also wierd. If my Viewer window at the left is set to 200% to get the person's head the same size in the Canvas window at the right we needed to put it to 400%. Does this make any sense. We think we need to control the Time line resolution somehow but cannot find any options from my manual, or the help, or in the various drop down menus. Do you have any clue? What is going on?

  • Picture perfect photos on MacBook look fuzzy and blurry on the TV

Why aren't my photos just as clear and crisp on the Apple TV as they are on the MacBook?

That's interesting - does that mean that it would not be possible to make a DV sequence with these photographs that would work on both TV monitor and as quicktime on a computer?
Your point about DV made me wonder if this would work if I made a Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 sequence instead. The first few pictures I tried look ok - much clearer though it's hard for me to tell if they are completely crystal.
If I do the entire slideshow in the 1080i60 sequence, then export to a quicktime which I then use in iDVD, do you think that would work or would I run into problems later?
Thanks again for your help with this.
    All the best

  • Colors not showing up and print doubleing and blurry

Some sites colors do not show as they should,in black and white.Print is superimposed over each other and blurry.I never had this problem till I down loaded firefox 4.

Go to Image>Mode and make sure you color is RGB, not gray scale. Also, a preference reset might help: Ctrl/Cmd+Alt/Opt+Shift as you initiate Photoshop startup.

  • Problem: Illustrator CS6 - print PostScript (fuzziness and blurring edges of vector objects)

    Hello,
Earlier to print to the printer Develop Ineo+ 451 used the program Illustrator CS3. In connection with the transition to Windows 7 (64bit), was bought by a new version of Illustrator CS6 64bit. Unfortunately, when printing from Illustrator CS6 (price lists, business cards, labels) on a PostScript printer were detected problems, which were not in previous versions of Illustrator CS3.
A comparison of the print quality of the two programs Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Illustrator CS6, made on a PostScript
The software used on the computers:
    1st PC: Windows XP SP2 (32bit), Adobe Illustrator CS3 (32bit), the driver Generic 50C-2SeriesPS v3.0.16.0 (32bit).
    2nd PC: Windows 7 SP1 (64bit), Adobe Illustrator CS6 (64bit), the driver Generic 50C-2SeriesPS v3.0.16.0 (64bit).
    Printer: Develop Ineo+ 451 (PostScript).
Drivers are available for download on the site www.chansi.ru
    link http://download6.konicaminolta.eu/develop/public/&&BDV&RU&sw&&&&&0&&&0&&0&&0
(to choose Product Ineo + 452, for download tested version of the printer driver).
Because after using the new version of the driver, the print quality was not satisfactory, then for the correctness of the comparison experiment, already used driver version 50C-2SeriesPS v3.0.16.0 has been selected.
When you print from the program Adobe Illustrator CS6, a printer PostScript, you can see fuzziness and blurring edges of vector objects, small text becomes fuzzy and difficult to read. If you print from a program Adobe Illustrator CS3 (using the same version of the driver), there are not such problems and the print quality is quite satisfactory.
The settings in the dialog box "Print" of Adobe Illustrator and the print settings in the dialog boxes of the PostScript printer driver of Develop Ineo+ 451, were chosen exactly the same for both versions of the programs Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Illustrator CS6 on both operating systems!!!

What's the explanation for the following sequence?
    1. Paste as Smart Object, at moment after pasting and before clicking the commit icon (no transform was made) in options bar. The object is rendered pixel-perfect.
    2. After the commit. The object is poorly rendered with gray pixels which should be white.
    3. Press Cmd+T for transform mode. The object is rendered pixel-perfect again.
    4. After canceling transform mode, the object is poorly rendered again.

  • Why are my imported pictures fuzzy or blurry?

Recently, some of our images that look good in Preview and Adobe Photoshop look fuzzy or blurry when imported into a layout program (like QuarkXpress) or a word processing program (like MS Word and Bean).  The affected pictures only seem to be those that we’ve reduced the image size on (from about 30”-40” to 2”-3”) and changed the resolution (from 72 ppi to 300 ppi).  We have followed this same procedure with the same hardware and software for years with no problems. Now they’re blurred.
They look better when printed (compared to on screen) but they are still not the quality we have had in the past.
    We have tried the following:
    - We found the same results with the same pictures on multiple Macs (and multiple operating systems).
    - We tried using a TIFF instead of a JPEG, but it didn’t seem to make a difference.
    - We reinstalled our QuarkXpress (this was before we realized the problem was also in other programs, like MS Word)
    - We tried reducing the image size in Photoshop rather than Preview
    Any suggestions?

I can't explain what has changed in Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXpress, MS-Word, or Bean because I don't use any of those programs on the Mac platform.
In any case, I can easily explain why your small images look blurred:
Resizing them so drastically smaller, you discard about 70% of the original image resolution by going from 30"x40" at 72dpi to 2"x3" at 300 dpi.
    Your original images:
    30" x 72 dpi = 2160 pixels
    40" x 72 dpi = 2880 pixels
    Your converted images:
    2" at 300 dpi = 600 pixels 27.7% of the original pixels, a 72.3% loss of "detail"
    3" at 300 dpi = 900 pixels 31.5% of the original pixels, a 68.5% loss of "detail"
Some possible work-arounds (using doubles and halves):
    1) If you want the same apparent resolution at 300 dpi, you need to make the 300 dpi images larger:
Divide original pixels by 300 (dpi) to get an equivalent size at 300 dpi, but now images are over 3 times larger than your 2" x 3" size requirement.
    2160/300 = 7.2"
    2880/300 = 9.6"
    2) Divide by 600 dpi, and we're closer, but still about double your size requirement.
    2160/600 = 3.6"
    2880/600 = 4.8
    3) If you want the same apparent resolution near the size 2" x 3", increase the resolution to 1200 dpi
Divide by 1200dpi, and we're just under your 2" x 3", but these images still retain detail when viewed just slightly larger.
    2160/1200 = 1.8"
    2880/1200 = 2.4"
Another alternative that sacrifices some quality. but not as much:
If you want to compromise quality a bit and still use the 2" x 3" image size, try 600 dpi. It won't be as sharp as the original, but might be an acceptable compromise because you're keeping more than half of the original resolution. It depends quite a bit upon the subject matter. Intricate landscapes usually look better at lower resolution than dramatic headshots where the loss of those intermediate shades makes pixelization so obvious.
    2" x 600 dpi = 1200 pixels, 45% loss, 55% of original
    3" x 600 dpi = 1800 pixels 37.5% loss, 62.5% of original
And finally if you simply must have BOTH 2" x 3" and original resolution, here are the exact numbers:
    2160/2" = 1080 dpi
    2880/3" = 960 dpi
This discussion does not speak to the file sizes of the resized images, nor the maximum output resolution capabilities of your viewing and printing devices.

  • Acrobat 9 - Save PDF as Optimized leading to blurry print jobs

Hi, I am looking for some insight into PDF's with optimized savings. I had a print job recently where some pages came out blurry and some pages did not. The previous job I did had no issues but the files files took a long time to send. SO this time I thought I would use the optimize option in Acrobat 9 to make the files smaller to send. I had the client check the quality on their end and of course the screen resolution was fine. What I am after is an answer to if the reason for some of the pages printing blurry was because of the optimize option I used when I sent them. From what I have quickly researched it seems that optimize does lead to blurry images. But if so then why did msot of the pages come out clean an d crisp and some of them come out blurry. Is that normal in this case? I am saving my PDF's originally from InDesign CS5 with printers marks and bleed. This is what I sent  the first time but of course like I said this time I saved them as optimized in Acrobat 9. It is the only thing I can think of to cause the blurry printing. Is it solely due to the save setting or could it be that the printers Acrobat version was earlier tham ine and this caused troubles? Appreciate any insight so I can avoid this again.

All pages were ready for high quality print - all imiages were at least 250dpi, most were 300dpi. All fine for quality print.
Optim was just standard which I should have changed. ANy idea why some pages were blurry and others weren't? <- Nothing to do with original resolution since they were all fine as stated above.
edit: Just got my own copy of the job. It's not really bluriness, it's more that all the fonts have a slight fuziness around them. Has to be from the optim save I did, but still weird that not every supplied PDF turned out like that. Each PDF I get I make sure open in PS and make sure they are CMYK then save as an .eps and then use Adobe Distiller to open the .eps and save again (to make sure no fonts bomb on the printers side). This does not cause loss of info, so it's only the optim save which I should have insisted on only being used a digital proofing PDF and not to send.

  • Viewing content within any PDF is pixelated and blurry

    Hi,
I use Acrobat Pro 10 at work and in the past week any PDF document I look at and create, the content looks pixelated (badly) and blurry, not the clean, crisp view I have come to expect with PDFs. Doesn't matter which PC I work from, it is the same pixelated and blurry view I get.
Our Desktop team don't understand why this is happening to me only. They have cleaned up my profile, thinking that this was possibly causing the issue, but it hasn't fixed it. They have also unistalled and re-installed Acrobat Pro 10, but this hasn't made any difference.
I haven't changed any settings in Priorities when I come to print to Adobe PDF.
Does anyone know/have any thoughts/suggestions as to why I'm getting the pixelated and blurry look with any PDF that I view?
In the meantime I will keep looking to see if I can find anything that might help with this issue. It's frustrating me and the Desktop team that we can't get to the bottom of the issue, as I can't really read PDF documents properly when they are in this state
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Gillian ,
Is it happening with all the PDF' or any specific one'?
Which platform do you work on?
Try repairing Acrobat if you haven't tried that.
Launch Acrobat>Navigate to Help>Repair Acrobat Installation
Or try Updating it to the latest version.
Launch Acrobat>Navigate to Help>Check for Updates
    See if that helps.

  • Color LaserJet CP1515n and ghost printing in Windows 7

I have an odd problem with my printer, that has otherwise worked perfectly. In XP there was never a problem, but with Windows 7 it is not going as well.
The test pages from the printer look correct, and as i said there was no problem until i switched to Windows 7. I can print text perfectly fine, but when i try to print an image, i get a blurry "ghost" printing. It is as if the image is printed faintly, slightly lower, which makes it look like i am seeing double and make my head hurt. This happens both for monochrome and color printing.
As i said, i do not beleive it to be a physical problem with the printer, because the testpages look correct. But i just cannot print any kind of image without getting the ghost print. How can i fix this?

    Hi,
Have you been able to solve the ghost printing problem as I have encountered the same problem & would like to know how to fix it?
    Many thanks

  • File printed to pdf printer and physical printer

    hallo,
as the title says, my application prints files and they are printed to a pdf file and sent by an email or printed by a physically printer letter and sent as letter to the customer
my application is a nightly batchjob in vb6 which has worked really well for some months but now the customer said, that some of the files have been printed to a pdf and sent by an email and also printed by a physicaly printer so i checked the logfiles and realized that there is only one printing mentiond of the files which have been printed twice (pdf and physically) so now i'm wondering
    the process looks like this:
i read the data from the database, and if the customer has an email address i change the default printer to the adobe pdf printer, then i set value in the registry which is a parameter for the pdf printer, what the name of the file shall be after this i reset the default printer to the physically one
in the logfile aren't any exceptions so the set of the default printer had to work, and also the set of the parameter for the pdf printer, and the files also had been sent by mail so i'm wondering if it's possible that windows or adobe has also sent the file to the physically printer, the OS is windows 2003 server
    hope you can help me
if anything is fuzzy im ready to provide more informations
    thanks a lot
    greetings peter

  • Blurry printing sometimes

I get blurry printing when I try to print from the internet but when I insert a paper to be scanned it comes out fine.
Also I was trying to print my bank statement and it wouldn't print.  It kept telling me I needed something on the page to print.  I haven't had a problem in the past printing my bank statement.  I have new hp cartrige. My paper is the same stuff I always use.  No humidity problems. I doubt if I have printed 50 pages since I owned this printer so it shouldn't be worn out.  It is the c4680 series

Same problem, different model, since last change of cartridge (I think)

  • GIF file shows up fuzzy and pixelated on Dreamweaver

I am trying to load a GIF file in Dreamweaver. I am saving it on Photoshop as an Unnamed GIF file with no dither, no transparency, and 128 colors. When I load the file onto Dreamweaver, it shows up fuzzy and pixelated. I know I am not stretching the image in dreamweaver, and I have saved the file as a PNG also and I get the same result. I think I am saving the file the wrong way but I am not sure what to do. I have an example of what the logo looks like on Dreamweaver.  Any suggestions?

Image attachments tend to get lost in the Adobe queue forever.  Best to show us a URL to your page and image so we can look at the properties.  Or use the camera icon to insert your web image directly into your message.
Dreamweaver rendering isn't what counts.  It's how your image looks in the major browsers.
Did you convert CMYK to RGB?  Browsers don't support CMYK. Possibly gif isn't the right file type for your image.  Did you try saving for web as an optimized jpg?
