Fuzzy horizontal lines around characters

I'm also having a problem with the images I'm capturing. On the LCD screen off the camera the image looks fine, but when I'm capturing there are fuzzy lines around the subjects in frame.
I've put the clip in the time line and changed the interlacing (from none to odd or even) and this seems to have fixed the problem, but I'd like to fix the problem altogether. Any thoughts?

As Andy indicated, you may be seeing the effects of viewing a normally interlaced TV image on a progressive scam monitor. Before you go to all the trouble of deinterlacing (and thereby reducing the resolution of your footage), see what it looks like on a TV monitor.
Of course, if you're final output is for web or CD-ROM delivery, then by all means, deinterlace!

I spot this problem while brosing trough the home screen or when the phone is locked.
I already updated to the newest version (7.0.3) but the problem seems to persist.
When I open the Camera app the problem reach the highest ratio of fuzzy lines making impossible to me to recognize subjects!

  • Horizontal lines on screen edges macbook pro unibody 2008

I've suddenly got horizontal lines around the edges of my screen. I'm on a MBP late 2008 15". I have no idea what's causing it but it's definitely hardare related since they don't show up on a screen shot. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You're just going to have to break down and take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP. It could be a GPU glitch, anything. Nothing odd about it not showing on a screenshot - you can only capture what's there on screen.

  • My iMac display occasionally flashes green and purple horizontal lines... is anyone else having this issue, or know of a fix?

The screen occasionally flashes purple and green horizontal lines across it. Then the buttons on the left side of my menu bar turn fuzzy, and when I click on them they become black rectangles with green and purple lines running thru them. The dock also has a hint of green and purple in it. And some of the shadows around application windows are just black outlines, instead of gradiating shadows. Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have a fix? I read about the other supposed graphics issues, but I think they're unrelated, or at least left unfixed by the firmware update.

  • How to make a horizontal line in java html browser?? without hr

    I use java html browser
I want to make a black horizontal line
the <hr> line is not good
for my customer it seems that there is a double spacing in this case
    I tried to write
    <td style = "BORDER-BOTTOM: 1px solid #000000"> ...
    but it does not work
I suppose this style is not supported by the default StyleSheet
    I tried to write
    <td bgcolor="black" height=1>
but the table has all rows with equal sizes
therefore the real height is too big
    Please help me
    I tried to write
    <table border="1">... </table>
even in this case I have table without any border

    Hi,
the best way might be to use a blind table with all cells set to have a border on the bottom. The problem is that the standard Java runtime does not render such setting automatically. There is plenty of work involved to adapt it and still it then would work only in the adapted version and not the standard runtime environment.
Anyway, you can find a working example of how to accomplish individual borders around table cells in open source application SimplyHTML at http://www.lightdev.com/dev/sh.htm

  • Horizontal line - Running out of options.

Hi guys. I can hope someone can help
I have a LaserJet 100 MFP M175NW printer that is around 2 years old. I am getting 1 horizontal faded line right through every page I print, black, or colour. It is always in the same position
I have the exact same printer which is in perfect working order so I have tried the following
1: Used a new photoconductor I know works
2: Ran a clean cycle (10 times) on the cartridges
3: Installed 4 new cartridges, from the printer I know prints perfect
I'm not sure what else it could be? I am happy to get my hands dirty if there is something else I can try. I am thinking it must be some sort of dust/residue build up somewhere but  I am not sure where or what to clean.
    Look forward to your help
Picture attached showing the line I have referred to.

    Hi @JSM87 ,
I see that you are getting a horizontal line in the same area when printing in color or black. I would be happy to help you.
Since you have already tried known good toners and a imaging drum, most likely it is the fuser or another hardware issue.
Please try the steps in this document to see if it will help resolve this issue. Steps provided are for running cleanings, calibrating the printer and printing off a Diagnostics Page and the Print Quality Page.

  • Report Painter / Writer - Horizontal Line

    Hi
Can anybody please let me know how to get a horizontal line after a particular row in a report painter/writer report.
    this is very urgent!!
    helpful answers will be rewarded!!
    raghav

Hi there.  This is from SAP help:
On the Create Report: Rows screen, move the cursor to the row set for which you want to enter characteristic information and choose Edit --> Choose.
The Row Characteristic dialog box appears. You can switch between characteristics using the Prev. characteristic and Next characteristic buttons.
Enter data in the Totals display group box as required:
The Totals display fields allow you to enter a number range of levels and then:
    - Underscore or overscore with single or double lines or format characters at these levels.
    - Insert additional blank lines between levels.
    - Highlight lines between levels.
    - Define colors for lines.
Set the Lower border indicators depending on how you want the lower border for the row characteristic totals to appear. You can define the lower border so that no lower border appears, a single line appears, a double line appears, or a user-defined character is used for the border.
Set the Upper border indicators depending on how you want the upper border for the row characteristic totals to appear. You can define the upper border so that no upper border appears, a single line appears, a double line appears, or a user-defined character is used for the border.
    I hope this helps.

  • My iphone 4s screen turned freaked out before my eyes, changing all different colours, now it is blue and black along the right side with horizontal lines, and is flickering. I DIDN'T DROP IT.

I was just sitting on the couch scrolling through facebook, I closed out of that and went to open safari, when it spazzed out, for a few mintutes it looked like LSD vision, it was all different colours and flickering the whole time. I turned it off and on again, and plugged it into my computer and now the right side is nearly completely blue, and bleeds to the left side with horizontal lines, and it is still flickering. I just finished paying the **** thing off. I thought I'd get another year out of it. I have taken exemplary care of it and it hasn't left the case since the day I bought it. I haven't dropped it, there was no warning for the screen to start doing this. So my question is, is there an easy fix (I am about to restore and update it, and I already played around with the screen brightness), and if not, am I going to have to pay for the screen to be replaced, because I don't have that kind money.

Probably sounded funnier in your head.

  • OFFICEJET PRO 8600 PLUS HAS POOR QUALITY, BLACK TEXT HAS HORIZONTAL LINES & FADING

I have a Officejet Pro 8600 Plus which is a few months old. It gets light use although I'm a graphic designer working from home.
The problem just started with a very poor print quality.  The black text fades in and out, has horizontal lines through it.  The color text also has horizontal print qualities.
I replaced all of the color ink cartridges, the black is mostly full.
I have repeatedly run the Align Printhead and Clean Printhead functions on the printer with no improvement.
What can I do at this point?  I need the printer function very soon.
    I'm on a Mac OS 10.7.5

    Hello Brembo50,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Regarding the Officejet pro 8600 not printing a clean crisp black text, the steps you have done are very good attempts to resolve.
When you printed the cleaning, did the characters print clean and crisp? It should look like this:
Please excuse the blurry image and colors should be on the bottom of the page, how ever the above should give you an idea of what it should look like.
Performing the steps in this HP document: Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems should help. It will have you doing steps you have done already, I recommend doing the steps but you could skip the steps you have done already.
Let me know how things look now,

  • Major CS5 bug where Smart Objets get thin horizontal lines??

Our prepress company has come across and proven out a rendering bug in Photoshop CS5 for Mac.  It has caused us to consider totally avoiding CS5 until it's fixed.  We are finding that CS5 is putting in several randomly generated thin horizontal lines about a pixel in height and varying widths, in cases where CS4 does not.  Some files get these lines when converting live "smart objects" from one ICC colorspace to another.
I am providing a link to a specific file that shows proof of this bug.   The example file has an embedded sRGB profile.  To see the bug, set you working RGB colorpsace to AdobeRGB, and set your Policies to "Ask".  During opening, USe the embedded profile. Then convert it to the AdobeRGB 1998 colorspace using File Convert, and do not rasterize the smart objects.  You will see lines in the lower right hand corner after it's converted.  Now go back and rasterize the smart object layers first, and these lines will not show up.  And now do the same with CS4, without rasterizing the smart objects and you will not get lines.  CS5 bug, CS4 no bug.
Let me know what you find on your end.  Can any of the adobe employees document this for me and get it on the fix list?
    Test file:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?ant3ya9aaft1a95

I also head a Graphics/Prepress department at a medium format digital print shop, with next day service to the casino industry. My two cents worth, CS4 did not have this issue, CS 4 was a Cocoa app and CS5 a Carbon app, to me that is not a reason why a major software company like Adobe has multiple leading products (PS, ID, Ill) that cause these kind of problems. I can't count the times my print opp's have come back with a file showing lines. Now, I have told my designers that we should also be looking for the lines, now that we know about it.
I have printed fabric before and it is a pain to print one and see if there are lines in it, but which is more painful, printing one to test? Or trashing $3k worth of fabric? I know this works for one image printed x times, but multiple images printing a couple each to fulfill the job would be a huge ordeal. Adobe doesn't understand that yet. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, maybe we should all start calling tech support daily.
I saw a post suggesting rasterize pdf's in lower PS to work around, clearly an ad agency/freelance solution, not a production house solution. Opening and closing PS12 and PS11 somewhere around 15 to 20 times, per work station?  We process somewhere around 40 minimum pieces of art a day, and sometimes double that. I could rant on this suggestion all day.
The bottom line is Adobe has no clue where it is coming from, they are more worried about the iPad/mobile industry right now.

  • Horizontal line in equation

Is there a possibility to insert a horizontal line in an  equation?
Prevereable in LaTex in a aligned area like in the example below.
I found some kind of workaround but its far from perfect:
    \begin{aligned}
    x+y &=y+x\\
    &\underline{\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;}\\
    x-y &= -y+x\\
    \underline{\;\;\;\;\;\;\;}&\underline{\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;}\ \
    \end{aligned}

I was able to use it by determining the keyboard equivalent in Font Explorer X and coping and pasting it into my document. The following is the information on the keys:
    ½ = Character code 189
Other characters such as 1/4 and 3/4 didn't seem to work...
    Hope that helps

  • Flashing Apple icon with horizontal line flashing at random on screen

I know this can't be good
    Here's the background info:
Our G5 completely crashed about 4 months ago. Lost my iTunes library but my iPod mini was full and working, so I used it until the battery died. Now iTunes is reinstalled but I was scared to plug iPod in and wipe out everything on it by mistake. Today after researching on this site I dowloaded Senuti to help with getting the contents of iPod back into iTunes library. Two hours ago I plugged in my iPod into USB on the G5, and at first I got the dead battery icon, but after a couple of minutes I got a flahing Apple icon, with a horizontal line on the screen flashing at random places. iTunes does not 'see' my iPod. Needless to say, Apple support website does not address the issue... Any help is appreciated! Thanks from sunny Florida

Try to connect your iPod with a window PC
Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    Tips
    a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
    b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
    c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

  • Help, I need a 720x540, 24fps .flv export without horizontal lines!

    Hi all,
I need to export a .flv that is 720x540 and plays at 24fps (real-time).  I do not see a project preset that allows that.  I tried the NTSC Standard 48kHz (it's set at 29.97fps) and time-stretched my video to the correct framerate to sync my audio correctly.  However, my video contained horizontal lines, particularly during areas of motion.  I enabled the "Always Deinterlace" option, as well as the "Reverse Field Dominance" option, but I still see the lines.  Next, I tried the NTSC AVCHD LITE 720p24 setting (set at 24fps); the problem here is that this setting is for 1280x720 video, so it shrunk the exported video and increased the size of the black border.  I have another 720x540 video (but at 29.97fps), so that one had no problems with the first setting (as I believe the aforementioned time-stretching caused those horizontal lines).
What should I do?  I am completely stuck.  I am using Premiere Elements 9.
    Thank you very much,
    Chris

Another option on Steve's suggestion would be to choose an HD Preset. Note: the Frame Size will be larger, say 1440 x 720, so your 720 x 540 image will sit, surrounded by black bars, all around. Do not check Scale to Default Frame Size, or similar syntax. Edit, as is needed, and then choose an Export/Share format, that permits one to crop in the Export, like FLV, or WMV. You will be limited in your Export settings, but that will get you output without the black bars.
Personally, I would output from Maya in a standard Video Aspect Ratio, rather than this odd one.
Last, PrPro allows one to create a Desktop Preset, where you could choose 720 x 540. Then, you would be able to Export to a few more formats, but some, like DVD-Video, would still not be available, as they have set Frame Sizes and Aspect Ratios.
How do you plan on doing the delivery of the output files?
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - Steve's suggestion to use one of the ProShow slideshow programs is a good one.

  • How to draw white border(only corner) lines around camera view finder

Hi. You know those white corner lines around the camera view that is found on most camera apps, how do I draw those lines around the camera view? I'm developing a video camera app and now I want to draw those lines to indicate where the camera view finder
is. The white line starts at the top left corner of the camera view(horizontal) then stops about one quarter and starts again at the other side(top right). The same at left, right and bottom side. It shouldn't be a full square/rectangle just the corners. I
think you understand what I'm talking about now. How can I draw just "video camera corner lines"? After this question I want to ask you how to change the resolution like to 176*220, 240*320 ect and what the available resolutions is for capturing
video-clips. For now just the white corner lines of camera view. Thanks in advance:-)

How do I draw lines and shapes on top of the camera view finder(cvf)?
+how do I show the battery life bar on cvf?
+how do I programmatically add text on the cvf?
+how do I make a connection request? (connect to a URL)?
+how do I change the resolution of the video camera? What is the acceptable values for resolution?
+how do I listen for touch events on the cvf?

  • White lines around figures

Captured ftg from DVD created from digi-beta from original 35mm film. Editing a 4 minute trailer but certain clips (30%) show short curved white lines around heads, figures, etc. Sort of like zebra but not? One clip has first frame with horizontal white lines top to bottom. Same clip shows up as green screen in QT file I made. Also a few freeze frames for a second or two. 70% of trailer is fine. Thought maybe the capture had wrong settings?

go back and capture from the source tape
