Fuzzy Illustrator footages in last After Effects version

Hi!
I've just updated to the last After Effects version yesterday and now all my files with illustrator footages look fluzzy (and they didn'y look like that before). They look like that in After Effects and also when I export I've tried everything: turning off the preference Create Layer Markers from Footage XMP Metadata, Purge Memory and Disk Cache, etc.
The layers for the illustrator have the Continuously Rasterize active.
Any clue what it's happening?

Can't open After Effects (version 11.0.2) in New iMac (OSX Version 10.9.4)

Just bought new iMac (OSX Version 10.9.4) and downloaded After Effects (version 11.0.2). On opening After effects I received the message 'You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X.' After googIe ing it, I then downloaded the After Effects 11.0.2 update. I then re-started my computer, but after effects still gives the original message 'You can’t use this version of the application “Adobe After Effects CS6” with this version of OS X.' Please help! :-)

They all are, but of course on such weak hardware you will have to make do without any hardware acceleration features.

I have an older Power Mac G5 Single Processor 1.8 (Non-Intel). I'm still using After Effects 7, and Photo Shop 7. I'm familiar with both programs, and I'm reasonably satisfied with them. At this point, after researching all the ramifications, I don't think I'm going to upgrade to Leopard just yet. My feeling is, (or so it seems), only big difference between Leopard and Tiger, is Time Machine. Other than that, Tiger is working well for me, and I'm still able to upgrade from Final Cut Studio 1 to 2, (without having to go to Leopard).

Unless you plan on using a very old version of After Effects, which will cause a bunch of other problems on Windows 7, you simply need more RAM. 3 GB is barely enough to keep Windows running smoothly, let alone running a RAM-hungry app like AE. Your first priority is to put more RAM in your computer.

Premiere Pro playback Footage issue - W/ After Effects Composition

Hi, I've had a very irritating issue as of late.
I've been working on a project for the past couple weeks and it has been going well.
I use AVCHD 1080p 29.97fps 24p footage. It plays perfectly fine in my Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4. I have used After Effects to replace many parts of the footage and has gone very well... Except one piece of footage.
For what ever reason, it plays terribly only when I apply an After Effects composition to it. If it is the raw footage, it's fine. If I alter it in after effects it's fine. But if it's altered from AE and I attempt to play it in Premiere Pro it repeats old frames. A mixture of stuttering and several frames back through out the whole clip.
I have NO idea what caused it or why it's happening.
Does anyone know?

AVCHD footage is highly compressed using a GOP compression scheme. This makes it unsuitable for heavy processing and subject to all kinds of errors and artifacts when re-compressed. The best workflow is to convert (transcode) your AVCHD footage to a lossless or nearly lossless codec that preferably uses YUV color space. I work mostly on a Mac so my preference is Apple ProRez 444. I transcode everything that I work on that is going to require more than just straight cuts.
Try transcoding (Adobe Media Encoder or Compressor or even Quick Time Pro are a few of the options) your problematic clip, replace the AVCHD footage in your AE comp with the transcoded footage, then re-render to a lossless or nearly lossless codec. Bring your new render into PPro and render a preview. Let us know if this fixes your problem.

I see in your sig that it says that you're still using Mac OS X v10.5.1. Really? Because that would be a problem. After Effects CS6 requires v10.6.8 or higher of Mac OS X.

Dynamic link between Premiere pro and After effects versions?

I was wondering if it was possible to use the dynamic link between different version of the products like preimere pro cs5.5 and after effects cs5.0, I downloaded the trial of premiere cs5.5 while I already have bought and installed after effects 5.0 a while ago. when I tried using dynamic link with premiere 5.5 with my current after effects cs5, the "replace with after effects composition" in premiere was greyed out. I didnt know if this was just a limitation of the trial, or if the two different versions (PR cs5.5 with AE cs5) were incompatable with dynamic link. hope you guys understand the question, and any answers would be helpful!

Ok so just to get this straight, in order to use dynamic link between adobe premiere pro and after effects you have to have the complete suite? or just the same version installed? all I want to be able to do is have a good workflow between premiere pro to after effects to get my vfx done, and then send them back to premiere seemlesly without spending $2000 dollars on the entire suite just to use those 2 programs and because the suite is way over my budget. is that the only possible way (other than cs6, because I dont have the $$ to update either)

Working with footage exported from After Effects

Hello!
I'm using after effects because i'm more familiar with it and i don't want to relearn a visual effects software right now, so hopefully some of you might be familiar with it.
I compiled my video using a NTSC DV Widescreen composition. I exported out of the render queue. When i play from the finder the video is in the widescreen format i exported with.
However when i import to Final Cut Express, instead of automatically adjusting to the format of the clip (which is a .mov) it gives me the red render bar. Additionally, it squashes the widescreen into standard format, which remains when exported.
I need to keep this video in the widescreen format. Does anyone have any idea on how i could do this? Thanks!

The clips are: Frame Rate- 29.97
frame size- 720x480
compressor - animation
data rate - 20 mb/s
field dominance - lower (even)
Pixel Aspect - NTSC - CCIR 601
The sequence im trying to edit them in (the default fcp gave me when opened)
Everything is the same accept the compressor is DV/DVCPRO - NTSC

After Effects importing wrong Illustrator file

I'm making a 2D simply animated film for my final year university project, where I'm designing in Illustrator and animating in After Effects.
This has worked fine until recently, but I've stumbled upon a problem. I'm creating my assets in groups based on my storyboards, and importing them one by one as I progress through the animation. They are all in the same folder and named 'Assets 1.ai' and so on. I have reached the 4th one of these files, but when I try to import it with the settings 'Composition - Retain Layer Sizes', AE brings in 'Assets 1' rather than 'Assets 4'. I've even tried this with the 'Footage' setting, which is useless to me anyway, and it still brings in the wrong file.
I can get around this by dragging the file from Finder straight into AE, but this makes all the layer sizes the entire size of the comp which means that I can't transfer any previous keyframes onto my new layers (I'm using several similar animations and layers) as they are a completely different size.
For example, a subtle rotation on the old layers of the correct size is a much more noticeable one on the new layers.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

It might help if we know some more information. Exact version number of AE (down to the last decimal), for example. FAQ: What information should I provide when asking questions?
What happens if you try to import it into a brand new project? If it works, until an answer is found, just import it into a new project and then import that project into your existing project.
Also, on a big project like this, please tell me you're using the Increment and Save feature with some frequency.

After effects version is 11.0 if I am checking it right
I have used after effects about three mounths and suddenly it just quiet working. That´s not good for my work. Luckily I got almost everything in premiere pro. Because I can´t even use files from AE in Premiere pro.
I have rebooted machine.
I haven´t reinstall AE yet. I will.
How do I trash preferences and from where? I cannot open AE at all.

After Effects CC version 12.0 is not updating to version 12.1

Hello:
After Effects CC version 12.0 is not updating to version 12.1 on my iMac running Mac OS X 10.7.5.
Adobe Creative Cloud desktop version 1.2.0.248 shows that After Effects CC is "Up to date" in the Apps tab; however, it is still version 12.0.
I've tried signing out and signing back in to see the same result.
I've also tried choosing Help > Updates from within After Effects CC 12.0.0.404; however, when Adobe Application Manager loads, it indicates that "Your applications are all up-to-date as checked: less than a minute ago." under the Updates screen.
Also, SpeedGrade CC, Premiere Pro CC, Adobe Media Encoder CC and Prelude CC all show "Up to date" as well while each those applications all have an update as well.
Any suggestions on how to proceed such that After Effects CC will update to version 12.1 are greatly appreciated.
