FX 5200 questions

I have GeForce fx tdr 5200.
Is there any way to use it in agp 4x slot?
When I install the drivers 44.03 I can't start any 3d programs. Why is that?I get this error in dxdiag
D3D7 Test Result: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)
D3D8 Test Result: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)
D3D9 Test Result: Failure at step 8 (Creating 3D Device): HRESULT = 0x8876086c (error code)
I can't start win98se with agp drivers installed and in Win XP home I have video corruption.

Yes.
I have downloaded and installed agp and ide drivers for my mobo(there aren't any other)and after that installed my videocard.I tried both msi and nVidia drivers but they didn't work :( .D3D and OpenGL are working with 43.45 msi drivers but there are missing textures and is working only in pci mode.Shuld in nVidia drivers be msi information and msi clock.
Thank you for replying!!!!!!

  • Nokia 5200 question

    Hello!
Does the standard distribution pack of Nokia 5200 contain a USB connectivity cable or something like this to link it with the computer? I'm thinking of buying such a phone but I don't know if will be able to transfer files
    Thanks for the answer

I have the 5300, and the supplied USB cable is a standard USB cable, with a mini-USB fitting to the phone. If you have other USB devices in the house like a photo camera or mp3 player, there's a good chance you already have such a cable (I have 5 from different devices). Otherwise, you can buy one (doesn't need to be Nokia) for real cheap.
The fact that it has standard connections (USB & audio) is what attracted me to the 5300/5200!
EDIT: Note though that the 5200 doesn't come with a memory card in the package, so if you're thinking of listening to audio files or taking photos, you'll probably want to spend a bit on a memory card.Message Edited by fred_be9300 on 20-Jan-2007

  • Voltage question for Inspire 5200 5.1 Speakers

Hi, I'm new to the forum, so I'm not sure if this question has been answered in the past, but...
I just moved back States-side after living in Pakistan for about 6 months, and I brought my Pakistan-bought Inspire 5200 speakers. I don't know if I should buy a voltage converter or whatever.
On the AC adaptor, it says "PRL. :230V~50Hz 320 mA... SEC. : 2V ~ 4.2A". I read up a little on this stuff, and, unless I'm mistaken, in Pakistan, the voltage is 220V and 50Hz, while in the US, its 110V and 60Hz.
Is it safe to use the speakers here WITHOUT a voltage converter or a step-down transformer?
If it isn't safe, then what specific things do I need to pick up from Radioshack to make sure my speakers work and don't short-circuit or fry?
    Thanks.

If you use the right step down transformer than it's perfectly safe. The problem is, step down transformer worsen the sound a lot unless you use the very expensi've one. But if you can't hear the different than it's good then, trust your own ear anyway. I think the best way is to change the adaptor.

  • GeForce FX 5200 Port Question

I have an old PowerMac G5 tower with a GeForce FX 5200 64mb video card. I'd like to add a second monitor to the system, but I'm having troubled identifying what the second port is. It looks like DVI, but has a slightly different, rounder shape. Any idea what it might be? And is it possible to add another monitor on that port?
    Here's a photo of it (labeled #1): http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9233/img0677s.jpg
    Thanks!

Hi StudioBlue, and a warm welcome to the forums!
The rounder one is an ADC, (Apple Display Connector), you need an ADC Monitor or this ADC<->DVI converter...

  • Personal Cinema 5200 Sound Problem/DVD Question

    Hi,
    I'm running
    P4 3GHz Prescott
    1Gb RAM
Asus P4P800E-Deluxe with onboard realtek 5.1ch sound setup
    MSI 5200 Personal Cinema 128
    Two problems:
Firstly, I can get my normal 4 TV channels for the area I live in, however I only have sound on 3 of these channels. The other one has sound intermittently come on and off, I've tried re-tuning but that doesn't seem to make any difference (it seems strange that it's the channel with the best reception!!!)
Secondly, my motherboard came bundled with WinDVD 5, which unlike the Personal Cinema-bundled dvd player supports 5.1 sound...is there any way of getting the NVDVD/remote to open WinDVD instead of the bundled player?  When I try to change the player that the remote opens, it can only find its bundled player...do I have to re-install the Personal Cinema software everytime I install a new media program so that it can find it?
    Regards,
    Nic

One more thing if the movie is on Full Screen in Cinema Display and the MacBook screen is down and I lift the movie switches to the MacBook as it should d and I get this message:
The selected movie won't play on one of your connected display
This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
Try moving the iTunes window to a different display. Make sure the entire window is on the supported display.
The same thing happens if it was palying in an iTunes Window or a Separate window.
Is this normal or another symptom of the problem with the sound and what may be causeing it?
    Thanks,
    David-Paul

  • Just a question concerning the hard drive choices, 7200 rpm or 5200 rpm?

Hi guys, i wanna ask you guys would the 7200 rpm hard drive make a big difference over the std 5200 rpm drive?
Is this only a online store option or can i walk into a macstore and request one with a 7200 rpm drive in? will this take them extra time to setup or should they have stock on hand?
Finally are the drives being used in these models SATA2?
    Replies would be greatly appreciated

Not likely as most Apple stores carry only stock configurations so if they don't have a configuration with a 7200 RPM drive already installed, then you buy what they have. You can order custom configurations from the online Apple Store. Some local retailers may be willing to swap a drive for you, but at additional cost that may be more than ordering the custom configuration directly from Apple.
Apple is likely using 3.0 Gb/s drives now since that's pretty much what all the new OEM drives will be. All 3.0 Gb/s drives adhere to the SATA II protocol standards (as do many 1.5 Gb/s drives depending on when they were made.) SATA II just refers to a protocol standard and has nothing specifically to do with the speed of the drive's interface.

  • Questions on prompts

    All,
I am on 9.3.1. Couple of questions on prompts.
Is it possible to define a prompt once and use in several reports (like Global RunTimrPrompts in Businessrules)?
From the choice list, Can I limit users the select only one member (member instead of members, like BusinessRules)?
In the choice, to limit promts, when I select descendants of promt and Not Level0 members, loosing the tree structure and displays list (in BusinessRules I don't loose tree structure)?
In the choice list, if I say descendants of a member or genX or children or match etc, can the result be sorted? in FR studio I am able to sort, how can I save this view option to the report? or How can I sort in workspace?
Row1 Prompt, Row2- Parent of row1 gives 5200 : Error executing query: server/app/db//Error(1001005) Unknown Member [Same As Row  2] in Report.
    Any alternate solution?
Dimension Geography is Prompt, Page is set to Children of Prompt, On a row I need the children of selection on Page.
From the prompt if user selects US, Dropdown in the page shows all Regions (NorthEast,South,West etc). If user selects NorthEast, the rows will be NY,NJ,NH,CT etc. How can this be achieved?
    Thanks

From the choice list, Can I limit users the select only one member (member instead of members, like BusinessRules)?
*Yes you can. After prompt, you can choose to limit user by choose member in member list. It will limit choose when user open prompt.
(Default member is to choose the default. Member list is list that user can choose)*
My question is from the list they can choose one or more members. But I want them to be able to select only one member from the list (not more than one)
I don't know how to do this as well. Thanks.
In the choice list, if I say descendants of a member or genX or children or match etc, can the result be sorted? in FR studio I am able to sort, how can I save this view option to the report? or How can I sort in workspace?
In FR there are function sortHierarchy. You can select that to sort
SortHierarchy sorts members in outline order. I want alphabetical order (not outline order)
sorry, don't know how to do that.
Row1 Prompt, Row2- Parent of row1 gives 5200 : Error executing query: server/app/db//Error(1001005) Unknown Member [Same As Row 1] in Report.
    Any alternate solution?
The member might be isn't data. It maybe text or function (it probably because when you edit you're reporting and missed to change that). Or probably Row 2 is also refer to another row
    Row1- Prompt
Row2- Parent of [same as Row1] gives the error as mentioned.
From what I learned, it can't be done. Parent of same as Row 1 can't be done. I'm having the same problem as you right now (using FR 11.1 to get the name of prompt in function Descendants of Prompt for product).

  • Questions on heat, hard drive, graphics 1.5GHz

I am considering a new Powerbook 12 inch to replace the 15 inch TiBook I just traded in at Powermax -- stretching the budget to the current 15 is tough, especially when there still seem to be at least some firmware questions if not hardware -- and the small 12 is tempting. Whatever it is, it has to be a Mac, and due to monitor spanning, it has to be a Powerbook.
    So some questions.
How is the 12 inch these days for heat? Obviously heavy hard drive activity (such as all the demos they run on it in the Apple Store) will heat up the left side wrist rest given where the hard drive is, but how is it for typing on in actual day-to-day use?
Anyone tried the 100GB 5400RPM BTO? Of course the 80GB 5400 is standard, but is there any significant speed difference between the two (denser platters usually mean faster transfers).
How about the Nvidia 5200 graphics card? Any bottlenecks I should be aware of compared to a Radeon 9550/9600/9700?
And, any difference in durability compared to the 15?
Lastly, how about the display? They seem a bit dim in the store, but they also seem like they have a jiggered stock profile. How about when you hardware profile it properly (I have a ColorVision Spyder2Pro)?

As far as video chipsets go, a 5200 is not going to run with the ATi 9600 or better in terms of fps for the gpu, I'm not sure about the 9550. The 9600XT, and I'm using one in a desktop, roughly runs with the 5700 Ultra and a little behind the 5900 in nvidia's lineup. I'd say as far as notebook gpu's go, all those gpu's are dated and are in need of revising. The 5200 is a couple years old and so are the ATi gpu's, that is for desktops. But when you look @ PB specs, a 9700 128 MB video vs 64 MB FX5200, the 9700 is way ahead.

  • Question about 865PE Platinium board?

    hey guys,
can anybody help me in good operation of 865PE Platinium board, i first started it, i heard large amount of noise from CPU fan i thought it would be finished soon but no progress then i installed MSI Corecenter and the sound died, that does mean MSI Core center works good right and one more question i installed latest MSI Live Update 3.6 version it came with live monitor what does live monitor do ? i mean live update not live monitor ?
any way the main question is i found that my CPU temperature is 51 C and system is 41 C is this temperate ok i mean if i turn on the Air Conditioner no affect neither room fan although there is no direct sunlight or anything and the other fact that i am living in a city which is very hot like 45-49 C usually . so what do i do i got two fans in the system one is power fand and the other is additional heat deciptation fan but the CPU is hot why? i have the following system
    2.40 Prescott CPU
    865PE Platiunium board
256 Kingston 400 Mhz single chip
MSI Geforce FX 5200 T128 (64bit) cause that was only available
i got a stabimatic stabilizer 500 V ok and i got monitor of Philips 14 inch with direct power cable to the CPU not seperate power only from CPU.
i proceed by turning the stabilizer on then monitor and then CPU cause big burden on the power of the monitor
    help me out guys

I'll say, prove your uncle wrong then . I have my MSI 865PE Neo2 and MSI FX5950Ultra(see my signature below) running for 1 yr 6 months w/o any problems.
First of all, I just want to tell you that your NB chipset only comes with a NB heatsink w/o fan, so corecenter will report N/A on NB fan. Next corecenter will only detect the fan speeds from the CPU Fan and NB Fan(if any) that's connected to the 3 pin SFAN connector.
SpeedFan is definately a better alternative if you decide to switched detection utilities but the same goes for speedfan utility, where it'll report N/A if nothing is detected. It doesn't matters how many fans you have in a system, when it comes to detection of Fans and Fan Speeds, it totally depends on what is actually connected to the correct connectors.
Next, if you want a stable airflow within the system, you've got to try placing the inlet fans near to the bottom of the chassis and the exhuast fans near the top rear of the chassis. Too many fans isn't good, a 3 fans system will do just nice to maintain good airflow in and out.
You may want to refer to the Mobo Burnt Prevention Guide under my signature to get some ideas on what are the areas that could burnt a mobo/hardware/system down.

  • Weird one with my fx 5200 after deleting old drivers and installing from scratch.

Ok, now I got a weird question, but seems to be a problem. I have a MSI Geforce FX 5200 as seen here and I was having a few problems with my drivers, and I figured it was my video card since it would mostly happen in games with 3D acceleration. So, I used Driver Cleaner and got rid of every nVidia driver on my computer. Rebooted, and installed the latest of the MSI website (45.33) and now, when I look in my settings, I have an option for DOT?!?!?! as seen here
My question is, did I install the wrong drivers or did DOT become part of the 5200? (it's the one with only monitor out and s video out, no DVI or anything special, heatsinks and not fans)
Thanks for the info in advance.

  • MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 with GeForce FX 5200, does it works?!

    Hello...
I have one MS-6330 Lite K7T Pro2 Ver:1 and it Support AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x, and I want to buy a GeForce FX 5200 that works for AGP 8x...
Question, this GeForce FX5200 will work with my MotherBoard (that supports AGP 2.0 1x/2x/4x) ?!?!
I think that´s no problem, and i´ll not have ALL the features that the board offers, but will work... do you guys know about?!

    extracted from http://www.answers.com/topic/accelerated-graphics-port

AGP cards are backward and forward compatible within limits. 1.5 V-only keyed cards will not go into 3.3 V slots and vice versa, though "Universal" slots exist which accept either type of card. AGP Pro cards (rarely used) will not fit into standard slots, but standard AGP cards will work in a Pro slot. Some newer cards like nVidia's GeForce 6-series or ATI's X800-series only have keys for 1.5 V to prevent them from installing in older mainboards without 1.5 V support. The graphic cores can only handle 0.8 V for AGP8x and 1.5 V for AGP4x and will be damaged by 3.3 V slots. Some of the last modern cards with 3.3 V support were the nVIDIA GeForce FX5000-series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9700/9800(R350) (but not 9600/9800(R360)).
to answer your question, that card will work in your board

  • DDR NVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphicis card & 30" Mac HD monitor

I am a new Mac user, having had Dell desktops all my life. Recently, my Dell W1700 monitor/tv crapped out, and (of course) it is just out of warranty.
This prompted me to by a Mac Book Pro with a 30" HD monitor (to work with the PC also).
    MY QUESTION:
Like many in here, I want to use the Mac HD monitor with the Mac Book Pro as well as the Dell PC (8300 series). I suspect that the cable connections may not be compatible (pins appear to have a different configuration) though the Dell LCD TV/monitor did use DVI cable in conjunction with a separate green audio cable.
I've already read and reviewed how to set up the laptop with the lid closed while utilizing the HD monitor. Now I need to troubleshoot the HD/PC connections.
    Help!
PS-is the spell check feature in this forum messed up or what? I've never had so many idiotic "suggestions".

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
The 30" Apple Cinema Display requires a computer with a dual link DVI equipped graphics card. It can connect to single link DVI, but without a dual link, the 30" ACD will not operate at optimal resolution (2550x1600). The 30" ACD is equipped with a dual link DVI-D connector.
I believe your 5200 has a single link DVI-I (2048x1536 max resolution), which will allow coupling with a DVI-I or DVI-D connector.
    30" ACD supported resolutions:
    2560 x 1600 pixels (optimum resolution)
    2048 x 1280
    1920 x 1200
    1280 x 800
    1024 x 640
