FX Factory 2.6 Released for FCPX & Motion

For those interested, FX Factory have released version 2.6 for their plugins to work in FCPX and Motion 5.
After installation, press command 5 to open effects browser and FX factory has it's own folder for the effects.

I don't think there's any difference between the disc version, and the download from the FX Factory website, apart from the disk version potentially being quite old.
In fact, you'll have to upgrade anyway to the latest version of FX Factory from the website to use most of the effects in FCPX 10.0.4/5
I've bought a number of plugins from them, and find the purchasing aspect quite smooth and easy. So easy, in fact, that I often sit at the computer and go "hmm... a few bucks for that effect, and that one and this one...", and I'm suddenly down for another hundred bucks in effects.
FX Factory update the plugins and core app fairly frequently, and the updates are pretty hefty in size.
So, buy off the website, and download it directly.

So I'm happy with this machine!&1half I needed to take in my car for regular maintenance so I brought my new Mac into VW and unboxed it, plugged in my TB drive and restored from TM. Final Cut Pro X works like a dream! Its night and day to what my late 2011 13" MBP could do, absolutely blows it out of the water! I'm not exaggerating, its really sweet. However,
I am working on a move that would allow me to go back and get the 15" retina for 1999.99 total. If I can *afford* to get this, do you think it's a good move & I should go for it? (smaller hard drive isn't an issue since I use external)

Motion project length for FCPX effects templates.

When creating a Motion Effect Template for FCPX, is there a recommend project length? Is shorter better since the effect will change based on the clip length in FCPX? Or does it really matter as long as it is long enough to cover all included behaviors, etc? Thank you.

Generally the 10 second default duration works quite well.

The best green screen work flow for FCPX

I over 300 clips done in green screen. Some clips are 10 seconds some are 5 min. I need to prep them for import into Motion 5 where they will be keyed and background graphics will be added.
The way im doing it now is dragging the chosen shots into one storyline then do one massive export of all the clips to one clip.
Does anybody have a better way of doing this?

Right now there is no roundtripping available for clips in FCPX --> Motion --> FCPX. Your only option is via your current method (export/reimport), or as James said, start your workflow inside Motion.
Use the Feedback page to enter the feature request to Apple (I've done this already myself).

Can I use canon eos40d for stop motion capture in premiere elements 9?

I Want too do stop motion capture but when I click get media, the pop up dialog box proceeda as if to import still photos. How do I get the "capture panel" that is talked about where I can select stop motion? Is premiere elements 9 supposed to work with a still camera like mine for stop motion at all? Thanks!!' That more or less describes the Premiere Elements Webcam experience if Premiere Elements recognized the Webcam.
If you have made a USB connection between the Canon 40D and the computer and you are not getting a Capture Window when you use Premiere Elements' Add Media Webcam or WDM compatible device, then Premiere Elements does not support that simple route. It is my understanding that WDM compatible device represents Windows Driver Model (a framework for device drivers).
I have done some Google searching, and I have found instance where claims have been made for the Canon 40D as a webcam. I post one of these links for informational and non promotional purposes.

Manual for FCPX

Does anyone know how to get to the manual for FCPX online? Bringing up help from within the app presumably goes online to get the content, but I can't find it anywhere on the Apple site. I'd like to be able to read it on my iPad.

Hello Gurus,
Could anybody help on the below requirement?
Is it possible to run a report that would list invoices that were released for payment that had had a block on them?? Example: an invoice is waiting on a goods receipt and it is posted. Once the receipt is posted the Invoice Exception Analyst release the block on MRBR. Is there a report that we can run to show what was released on any certain day or period??

Here drop the list by clicking the button near origin n status...here tick on the manually accepted button...
Then in the main window itself click on the posted as invoice status....Enter the date as posting date and execute...it will show you the list...

API or interface table to create releases for a blanket purchase agreement

I need to know if Oracle provides a standard API or interface table to create releases for a blanket purchase agreement.
I tried using the release_num field in PO_HEADERS_INTERFACE, PO_LINES_INTERFACE. But this is not working.
I'm able to create the blanket purchase agreement using the open interfaces, but not the releases.

Hi Alister,
You can't create a release of a BPA through API, there is no such APIs provided by oracle.
Where as you can create a BPA by using API. You need to dump/poplulate data in PO_headers_interface & PO_Lines_intreface table.. Then use Purchasing Documents Open Interface API to create a BPA.

The system used was a 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Mac Pro from early 2009 running MacOS X version 10.7.4 with 12 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 graphics card with 1.5 GB of onboard RAM.
In most cases PP6 outperformed FCPX with this configuration. However, in the comments Ben Balser pointed out that FCP X's A/VFoundation engine wasn't ideal on the NVIDA card:
"Quadro is actually not the best card for FCP X's A/VFoundation engine, but great for CS6's Mercury engine, so the test is amazingly flawed right there. Try both on a 5780 card and watch things drastically change. I've done that test myself. Exporting to Compressor uses a MUCH more sophisticated encoding engine meant for higher level, professional transcoding, not simple outputs, which are faster using Export Media…"

Wanted a new item to be released for Blanket PO instead of old item

I have a requirement :
A new item (B) is replaced for an old Item (A), ie the purchasing flags are disabled for the old Item (A).
And the item releationships for the Old and New Item are defined in inventory.
There are few Open Blanket PO's where the old item is present in the Po's,now we wanted to release a PO for the new item instead of old item in the PO.
Client don't want to update the new item to the old item.
Please let us know how to use this functionlality.And the steps /setups to achive this.

I guess your requirement is not achievable...
As long as the item is present in BPA then the same item will be defaulted in Release...we cannot use new item here even touch we have item relationship.
if you require a new release for the new item then you need to create a new BPA.
I guess Item releation ship wont work here.
I tried to work it out thru sourcing rules by creating a BPA with old item and putting new item in assign sourcing rule window....but while releasing thru autorelease old item got defaulted in the new release.

while releasing for account in billing document for the finished product.Shows Error as:"no product cost estimation not allowed". Thou I cheked configuration checking of costing key in COPA and costing variant of relevant one looks fine. Plz guide me further more configuration and basic settings needed in to solve this task.

I have done those change also, still it is coming same as " No Product cost estimate was found". check you costing key 100 in COPA configuration. i have checked costing key configuration , in that costing varinat PPC1, Costing Version 1, Period/Indicator as "Current Standard cost estimate Acc. to entry in Material Master" .
