FX5200 drivers?

Hi all,
I have a fx5200, Im using drivers 4.4.0.3 which came with the graphics card and am using now with no problems, When i do update the drivers with the latest ones I notice the text on screen such as wording looks faint and so does icons etc, this isnt like that with the drivers ive been using.
can anyone help?
Thanks
Ellis.

Is your resolution or refresh rate changing with the new driver?
Check your edge smoothing settings for your fonts in:
Display Properties>Appearance>Effects
- set it to Standard if it's set at ClearType (if you're using an LCD, then set it to ClearType).
Also check your DPI setting (under Display Properties>Settings>Advanced>General with both drivers, if it's different, then set the same setting with the new driver as it is with the old driver.

  • Geforce FX5200 Drivers

I have just reinstalled my  FX5200 but my cd drive has chewed the driver cd.
I downloaded the Fx compatible driver from here, problem now is, when I try to play games there is a double vision image and the game appears to be flickering.
To be perfectly honest I don`t have a clue where to start to try and correct the problem, or for that matter if it`s a driver problem or just a tweak job.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank`s. Tom.

    Hi Richard.
I downloaded driver 45.23 from nvidia and also had a twiddle with the antialiasing and anisotropic sliders in the nvidia sub menu "quality and performance". Both of the settings where at default ie zero, I changed them both to 4x. That got rid of the double vision but there is a slight problem with outdoor textures(IGI 2). Looks like you are walking with huge boards on your feet!
I have noticed that I cannot change some of the graphic settings within the game configuration, maybe a re-install can cure that. Can you advise what settings to choose re the antialiasing and anisotropic? my mobo supports AGP 4X.
    Thank`s again. Tom.

  • Spdif output problems

I have a 651 unit with on board ac97 audio which is connected to an external amp thro an spdif. When I play dvds on WinDVD7 in XP I get full DTS/DD sound. If I play dvds through MCE 2005 I get Dolby Virtual. I've installed the latest graphics and Realtek drivers and all the audio settings are set for spdif output. The spdif is outputing something because I do get sound. I've tried everything from previous threads but nothing seems to work. Please help.

Hi - I,ve set windvd7 to spdif output and in control panel - audio devices under the spdif tab I've set to digital output only. In Media Centre in the settings scetion under dvd and audio I've selected spdif but if I save and exit when I look in that section again it has reverted to 2 channel sterio. I know the system works because when I play dvds using windvd7 from the xp desktop I get the full dts/dd sound. I've loaded the latest fx5200 drivers graphics drivers, ac97 drivers etc. I dont think its a driver problem cos it works in xp. It must be a media centre problem - but I cant think what else I can do.
I'll try the analogue outputs - I'll lash something together tonight when I can get some cables.
    Thanks

Sorry.!!  I do not speak English
I want to know if card FX5200 LE is compatible with MAC OS X 10.4  ???
    thanks
nVidia does not have MAC drivers.
So "NO" is the short answer.
However, there might be some help here http://macvidia.plusmediamusic.com/
There does seem to be MAC users with this card, but driver support is something you would have to research.

  • Updated nVidia GeForce FX5200 U drivers

Does anyone knows where can I find any updated drivers for my iMac G5 64Mb nVidia FX5200 U video card? I checked the nVidia website, and they don't have drivers for Mac.
Specifically, the current Mac drivers don't support the OpenGL 2.0 Extensions completely (such as texture compression).
I've later learned that these updated drivers are released with every OS X update, when is the next update (10.4.3) due?
Does anybody know how can I request such drivers to Apple?
Thanks a lot and I appreciate all your answers!

I recently upgraded to Yosemite on my mid 2009 MBP and now I have maximum resolution of 1080p - so i suspect its the nvidia Graphics card that needs essential updates. Also after extensive search Im starting to get the feeling Apple have cut us off ...  no surprises there.

"No valid WDM video capture devices were found"
"One or more expected drivers were not found"
I re-installed this product into my computer. (what I thought to be junk PC...)
I had some issues with this PC about 7 mo. ago. When asked for help from computer store they told me the PC "probably" had a bad motherboard.  ...So you might want to  buy a new PC.  So I did,  and I love it.
But my other PC was a pretty good PC as it was, so I just stored it in a closet this whole time.  I finally hauled it out again to see if it really was the motherboard ....and found out it just needed a new power supply!!
Just installed the new power supply and it runs like NEW!!!  so excited!!
So, anyway I decided to place my FX5200 video card (with personal cinema) back into the slot and begin again to record cartoons for my grandkiddies.
Here is the problem...I used the CD to re-install this item and after doing so I was not sure that 7 mo. ago I had even un-installed this video card.  ....stupid stupid,...should of checked first...now possible problems??
"No valid WDM video capture devices were found"
"One or more expected drivers were not found"
Using DriverGuide toolkit ...Ihave all the drivers buthave no idea were they have to be returned to.
    Any help would be AWESOME!!!

    Awesome that worked THANKS!!!!!
But I did some testing...from titanTV.com I asked it to add a program to record.
It recorded fine,..but when done the screen went black and could not change channel ...and soon it was "not responding" ..is there a fix for that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Granny
well you can try with other similar software to record it, or to try alternative capture drivers.
you are welcome mate. , but better stuck at current worked position and ignore this failure.
you can install Personal cinema patch too can help with that issue: http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/mut_dvr/PersonalCinema225Patch.exe
Ensure 2.25 CD is into your CD drive and then execute PersonalCinema225Patch.exe

  • MSI StarForce FX5200-VT128

Well, before starting, let me say that I only have a few hairs left on my head, I pulled them all out in the last 36 hours. I'm all out of options and you seem my last hope.
-- skip if you don't want details --
You see, I got this card, with a box that said "FX5200 VT-128". Box looked nice, it had an embeded tuner that wasn't ATI (I thew it out the window, it it responsible for me wearing a wigg), remote control (RF), and a rather new nVIDIA FX chipset that I heard good things about. Besides, I know nVIDIA drivers to be a one-click install and work flawlessly (at least they did so far)
So I got this card into my W2k SP4 box, DX8.1, installed the nVIDIA CD, personal cinema setup. Then the drivers from the MSI disk. Rebooted, and the option to install video capture drivers appeared. Did so and Intervideo WinDVR was displaying TV, stereo sound and all. Yey! Remote controlled TV.
Then the storm came. I got this CATV modem and the installation died at some point. New W2k, SP4, fresh install. Installed the software, drivers, got a BSOD. Mrrr. Went on and installed the web version of the drivers. No dice. Upgraded to DX9. Nope. And so on and so forth, I've been up 36 hours now and I'm turning a redish tint.
IT DOES NOT WORK ANY MORE!
    -- end of skip --
It worked before. Nothing changed. Same card, same TV, same software, same OS. Tried 3 versions of drivers, all work fine on the video card, but TV tuner does not work, as follows:
44.02 (on CD) - Remote control does not work (There is an FAQ on the site about this, says upgrade driver but link is broken, needs "&kind=10" at the end). WinDVR hangs, so do all other WDM tuners.
53.04 (the one in the FAQ) - remote control still dies, as opposed to the FAQ. WinDVR hangs
56.64 - bad - remote control dies(against what MSI says), windvr does not tune
I currently have v44.02 on video card with capture drivers v2.2, still does not tune. By this I mean that TV apps start, display window that is actually TV, except that it's some kind of start-of-band (distorted, mis-tuned TV station, probably beginning of VHF-L). If I try to autoscan, tune to something, change input, switch pal/secam/ntsc, NOTHING HAPPENS. It's as if the driver got read-only. WinDVR either crashes or scans at about 8 channels/second (used to do around one/s)
You might want to know what else do I want except complaining
Well, please, PLEASE, if anyone has Windows 2000 SP4 and this card (that lists as Personal Cinema FX 5200, as opposed to the box, that states FX5200-VT128), tell me what configuration you have.
Tell me what DX version, what video card driver version (Device manager>Display Adapters > Properties > Driver) and what Capture Drivers you own (check the same for nVIDIA WDM Tuner). And patches, order of install, anything I haven't tried.
I have GIGS of software to put in this installation and I can't start if I need a fresh install.
Also, as a bottom note, I read most of the forum, sticky posts, googled, nothing shows. I'm a system admin and a coder, in a word, a professional, so don't waste time on details if you don't feel like it. Just point me in the right direction.

  • Driver probs or duff FX5200 ???

Hi got some more problems with this card so much that I’ve had to take it out of the PC and put a Nvidia Geforce2 MX400 which is working with no probs.

I have a MSI FX5200-VTD128 video card installed in the MSI KT6 Delta-FISR motherboard, running at 2800+ Processor. I have installed all the latest drivers and also tried some earlier drivers for the card but the system is very unstable re-booting or hanging from the error reports I seem to of traced the errors back to the Graphics card. Below is a copy of one of the error reports I have retrieved from c:\windows\logfile\watchdog.

I have also noticed on system boot when the information about the graphics card is displayed there is no information.

OK thanks for the reply what would be a good PSU to go with my system setup as I’d like to sort out this problem. I did read somewhere that Q-tech weren’t that good.

  • GF FX5200

Okay. I'm having a problem with a program that came with my FX5200... Hope you can help me here or direct me to who can. It's the media center deluxe II. When I install the program it goes well for a while then has a self registration error that says this:
Following files did not self register:
    1. CL\Program Files\MSI\Media Center Deluxe II\WINDEx.dll
The specified procedure could not be found
And when the program launches it says there was a script error and I have to close it. I downloaded all the newest drivers hoping that would help... but no. Service Pack 4 too. I'm using Windows 2K.
    Thanks,
    Mike

hey thanks! that fixed that problem... but now I am having a new one. Any idea why it is poor quality audio when I play DVDS? This doesn't happen when I use a different DVD player... has background static and skips. Also. Can I change the resolution? Or am I stuck with 1024x768?

  • K7N2delta ILSR won't except video drivers?

I bought a K7N2delta ILSR & can't get it to accept the drivers for an ATI 9600? Before I install the drivers windows XP pro sets some drivers & I can alter the pixel settings, but once I install the ATI drivers I get nothing but a black screen? I boot & the windows XP splash screen comes up but the welcome screen never makes it? I can start in safe mode & the desktop is visable but once I go to regular boot I get nothing but a black screen?
I read a thread where they suggested using a two button mouse but that didn't work either? Any advice or suggestions?
Running BIOS 7.4. Should I flash back to 7.3? Reset CMOS & try over?
    Anyone have suggestions?

I hate it when people don't reply back to their own thread to say if they resolved their problem(s) or not? I'm not sure what happend but I bought an fx5200 and installed the drivers to find out my AGP slot was not fried or anything else for that matter? I then removed the nvidia drivers & reinstalled the ati  drivers for the 9600np to find that all is well & functional? I don't think this was caused by a bad agp seat but it could have been? All I know is that I don't appear to have a bad board.\
FYI .... this board has some nice OC'g features but my gigabyte board overclocked better with the same components & I might add no problems seen on this board!?

  • Dual monitor failure! (FX5200)

Well, 2 days ago I connected a second CRT monitor to my MSI NVidia FX5200 VTD128 card via the addapter given with the card.
It was working ok, though the refresh rates were noticeably slower on both monitors when both monitors were active.
Then I started getting little flickers, even though there was nothing going on, which was a little strange...but I figured it was ok.
So I was working with powerpoint, Macromedia Flash MX, Windows Media Player, etc. and I started having some problems, especially with Powerpoint. I'll use powerpoint to explain what happened: While previewing my presentation the 2nd (older) monitor was where the presentation was being displayed. It usually didn't take long for the screen to flicker a bit, and change the vertical and horizontal size of the display, to something that was just not right. I could reset it back to the orizinal resolution or v/h sync by going into settings and changing the resolution.
Well, then it happened again, but this time the entire image was lost! Now I can not get an image to that monitor while in windows...works during startup though. Please help.

Sorry,  I really had to leave earlier.
I got the two monitors to work together again, but this time there were some limitations, and it eventually led to the same end as before.
As far as I can tell it is a windows problem or a video card problem, not a power supply or motherboard issue. I should have said that earlier. I believe it to be a video card problem, which is leading to a windows problem.
So as I said I have the FX5200 VTD128 card, running on a 4x AGP slot with NVidia drivers (not MSI drivers as these do not work on my system). My case temperature is fairly constant at approx. 81 F, and I don't know the temp of the video card.
The first time I had a problem I was using the DualView option, where both monitors are separate pretty much. After a few hours of working nicely the monitor started having so problems...it would blink an come back with a picture that was very narrow and extremely tall (both more than what could be fixed with the monitor controls). Also the colour was dull and dark. Eventually after fixing this problem a few times by changing the resolution to reset the monitor, the computer crashed. When I restarted windows the second monitor remained black while in windows (though I still see all the start up stuff on it).
So today since I couldn't get the Dual View option to work I used the option that spreads the image over both monitors. Exact same thing happened a few hours after use.
Since I had restarted my computer over this period of time, I am pretty sure it is not a memory thing. I'm guessing it is a heat thing. I have a feeling the fan on the video card is not working like it is supposed to without the MSI drivers. If this is the case, MSI should be responsible for informing buyers about this problem.
Since I was using different programs both times, I'm pretty sure it is not related to what programs were running. And since the monitor was working no problem earlier, I don't think it has anything to do with the hardware in my computer, though I tried to provide some info earlier...though I do believe there was enough info there for a somewhat educated guess as to what my problem could have been.
I have a feeling this will have to go to MSI support to get any type of answer, but hopefully someone else has a good idea as to what it is and what can be done about it.
    Thanks
    PS.
Richard, I believe the 4 wheels would be the equivelent of me saying I had a video card....the h/v sync thing would be like saying the car is making a specific noise. Welcome to the life of a mechanic. I appreciate help, but please refrain from the sarcasm.

  • FX5200-TD128 Crashing System

    Straight to the point, then...
I built a system for a client approx 2 months ago and since that time, intermittently, the system will freeze, screen will go blank, then restart, Scandisk, "Error Report" window.  Configuration is as follows...
    P4 2.8 GHz CPU
    MSI 6728 NEO2-LS MBB
512 MB Kinston KVR400 DDR RAM
    MSI FX5200-TD128 Video w/ 53.03 Drivers
    Western Digital 80 GB HDD
    LiteOn 52x32x52 CD-RW
    SB Live! 5.1 Sound
Raidmax Scorpion Case with 420W Power Supply (other PSU specs - now posted later in thread)
    2x case fans
    Logitech Webcam
Windows XP Home SP1(upgraded from ME - FAT32)
Customer sent the error report and received a reply back that it was possibly video driver related, so last night we downloaded and installed the latest drivers from nVidia, but problem persists.  It doesn't seem to happen with any particular program or game... sometimes with Counterstrike, other times with Internet Explorer
My next thought is to try converting to NTFS.  My thinking is that maybe the problem is somehow related to the fact that it was a Windows ME upgrade and not a clean XP install.
Any help from the experts would be appreciated.
    Rick

    Computermechanic…….
We knew…. sooner or later that someone would try telling us that there
420 watt PSU was adequate, but in reality was inadequate. We hope this
explanation will help you to discover why your PSU is so underpowered
    and or inadequate!
You said your PSU is rated @ 420 watts @ 100%, correct!
Here are the specs you gave, correct!
    3.3v x 26A = 85.8 Watts @ 100%
    5v x 32A  = 160 Watts @ 100%
    12v x 13A = 156 Watts @ 100%
We come up with 401.8 Watts Total @100%, not 420 Watts !…
PSU are often very deceiving !   All PSU are Not created equal !
Even our really old Enermax EG365P-VE 350 Watt PSU has more
watts than your 420 watt PSU!
    Here are the specs:
    3.3 x 32A = 105.6 Watts @ 100%
    5v x 32A = 160 Watts @ 100%
    12v x peak 20A = 240 watts @ 100 %
    Total watts = 505 watts, correct!..Wrong!. 505 Watts @ 70% = 353.5 Watts,
    that’s why it’s called a 350 watt PSU!...
    Now will take your 401.8 Watts @ 70% = 281.26 Watts, You have a 282
watt PSU !   Remember again, PSU are not created equal!...
You said: “your power requirement is only 349 watts” looks like you’re a bit
weak on those precious watts, like 67 of them! Ya think!  Welcome to the
    real world !....
PSU… are Not designed to run efficiently @ 100% !…
PSU.. are designed to run efficiently @ 30% to70% with 50% being optimal!..
You said: “13A on the 12v rail gives 156 max watts, more than twice the required
75 needed for an FX card”. The FX card is not the only component that requires
12volts, some of the amps, and lets not forget, which equals those precious watts,
you also have to consider the HD, CDRW, SoundBlaster Live 5.1, 2 case fans,
floppy drive, MB, CPU fan, PSU fans, NB fan, etc, etc. All these components
could easily used over 100 watts, Maybe more! Maybe less ! Plus the 75 watt
FX card, to easily total more than 175 watts! Maybe more!  Maybe less !
So, if you take the 156 watts from the 12v rail and its running @ 30% you get
46.8 W, now if you take that 156 watts @ 70% you get 109 W, but now, taking
that 156 watts running @ the optimal 50% you only get 78Watts!..Understand!
Everyone here, at our Overclockers club, can’t even believe that your rig would
boot up and go into Windows, for one minute or two or three or four or five or
six or even seven!.. Without crashing, lockups or BSOD.
Most signs and symptoms of a faulty or inadequate PSU, are often or random
reboots, BSOD, lockups, poor performance, crashing, etc, etc.
If you’re a system builder, or even if your not, we suggest that you and your
techs at your supply co., read this post written by clarkkent57 on “Choosing
    The Right Power Supply” [https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threadid=31880]
and hopefully you and your staff will understand, what we are trying to say,
your PSU is the issue here! “Its inadequate”!!!!!!

Under XP and the most recent driver, this option is easily available and works great,
but I want to use NVrotate with Win98SE
    MSI FX5200
    Gigabyte GA-7VAX
    AMD 2400+
    17" Analog LCD & 18.1 Analog LCD

    Yes.
I Installed the Drivers for Win9x
    NVRotate is not an option.
The only place that it shows up is in the Hot Keys
    DESKTOP MANAGEMENT
             HOT KEYS
                      DISPLAY MODE
                              ROTATE DISPLAY
I set a hot key for this
    and nothing happens.
Not a problem with the HOT KEY software
as any other HOT KEY's I set work fine.
I moved the hard drive on my machine,
    same motherboard and Video Card
    to my wife's machine.
I am running XP PRO, she is running WIN98SE.
Under XP, NVROTATE shows up as an option and works perfectly.
But I don't want to change her operating system just to get this to work.
    BTW,
I set up a HOT KEY in XP and the rotate works fine.

  • 5200 T128 drivers won't install in XP

Just purchased a GeForce FX5200 T-128 and installed the driver from the accompanying CD. Then prompted to restart system which I did. Upon starting, I realised that the driver hasn't been installed yet as it still prompts me that the system has detected a new display card. Tried this several times with various drivers but can't seem to get the drivers installed. Anyone knows what's wrong?
My system is running on Win XP SP1, 512Mb Ram.

Hi localfish, the main problem is that win xp runs plug and pray, so it will automatically say that it has found a new graphics card even when you have installed the drivers yourself. But this doesnt mean it will not have installed the drivers you have set.
Re-boot your system and then go to the control panel item in your pop up main menu, select appearance and themes, click display.then to settings then to advanced this will bring you to the graphics settings.go to adapter then click properties and then click the driver box which tells you which version it is running.
Check this against the drver you installed and it will probably be the same.
Sorry if i telling you something you already know, just hope it helps...
Thing is the drivers from the disk are probably well out of date anyway, so your best going to the Nvidia site and downloading the newest ones.

Hope you get it sorted bud
