FX5200-T128 TV-Out Connecting?...

Hello everybody,
I've bought a new compy with this video card and I've been told that I can connect this video card to my tv.
Well my tv is old JVC from the 1990s... but I have a new Hitachi DVD+VCR that is connected to the tv via digital cable decoder.
So I thought that if I buy S-video (4-pin) -> RCA (Video out) cable and connect between the comp and the DVD-VCR I'll receive a picture on the tv but I don't...
What seems to be the problem?
10Q!

I give up. Whats the answer
In plain English:
What the problem. Do you get a picture or not.
How did u connect it to the TV-set.
Also...u need to set the regional setting, NTSC, PAL, Secam, etc..
What happens if u conect straigt to the TV-set. U may need a SCART-RCA converter to do that.

  • FX5200-T128 AGP (Tv-Out)

    Hello
    Hopefully someone can answer my question since MSI doesnt return my emails or my phone calls.  This makes me want to spend my hard earned money buying another MSI product.
    I just built myself a new system  and cant figure out why I am having the problems with this video card. I am using this video card until I decide which one to upgrade to.   A little about my system first.
    CPU:  AMD XP 3200+
    Ram: Cosair (2) 512meg) chips PC3200 (Mastching Pair)
    MB: Gigabyte 7nnxp (Latest Bios)
    Sound Card: Sound Blaster Live 5.1
    HD's: 85, 120, 160 gig Maxtor Drives
    MSI FX5200-T128 (Latest Bios)
    KDS VS-195 19 inch Monitor
    I am running the Latest Bios and software MSI FX 5200 Drivers 53.03 (Nvidia Drivers) for the FX5200-T128 AGP 8X video card and still have these problems.
    The problems I am having probably have something to do with the refresh rate but i'm really not sure just guessing. The taskbar (down below) turns a solid color and you can't see the icons on it when dong different  tasks on the computer. Evently it goes back to normal and everthing goes back to normal.  When I first boot the computer up I get a white background (which doesnt bother me to much).  Plus I use Photoshop a lot and when I am first booting that up the screen goes to white but after its loaded up I see everything I need to see.  If I am in Photoshop doing some editing the whole screen turns white and usually the only way around it is to press the esc key and sometimes I loose my work and have to start over. If I go to the control panel then select the display icon/settings/advance/troubleshoot/hardware acceleration.  If I lower the performance on the card way down then i don't have a problem but why would I do this.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Michael

    IF you had done a search and some research on that card you would see that it's a glorified GF2 440 MX equivelent and is not a high end video card for much else than a normal business workstation...graphic editing wouldn't be my first choice to do with that card...
    Now you could have a bad motherboard as well...power supply could be light on it's output to power your components...it could be a lot of different things...
    Need to troubleshoot your system with known good parts of the same manufacturer and chipsets...
    Good Luck!!

  • FX5200-T128 mosfets extremely hot

    Hi,
    I have a MSI Geforce FX5200-T128 video card. I'm worried with the 2 MOSFETS near the BIOS chip and Svideo-out because it is getting extremely hot. Is this normal?
    Thanks.

    Mosfets normally get hot.
    They are generally designed to handle high heat. I wouldn't worry about them unless your having problems.  If they do worry you I would attach some tiny heatsinks to them with thermal epoxy. Radio Shack sells some or any small heatsink will do.

    Thank you very much
    Alberto.

    I have tested in the xi server: run->cmd->ping nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn and I don't reach the ftp server but if I test in the xi server: run->cmd->ftp nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn and introduce the user and password then I log in without problem and I can put the file in the remote directory.

    2008-05-08 18:42:12 Error Attempt to process file failed with Connection timed out: connect
    the first 3 steps are ok. If the ftp was down or if credentials was wrong other error will be generated.
    Thank you very much.

  • FTPS receiver side - Connection problem:connection timed out: connect

    Hi experts,
    I must connect to an external server to send files with FTPS.
    I have created receiver CC with connection security: FTPS for control and data connection
    Command order: TLS, USER, PASS, PBSZ, PROT
    Connect mode: per file transfer
    port : 990 (given by third part)
    data connection: passive (suggested by third part)
    My problem is that communication channel raise a connection timed out error, see below for log.
    I've already followed the steps suggested by this thread:
    FTPS Transfer Failing with Connection Timeout
    but no luck.
    Thanks

    Seem that FTP access into server is executed successfully and adapter write file, but raise timeout exception.

    We're running behind a proxy.  ANT has to connect to the Java website to pull down it's DTD.  So, the answer is to first run the following command to configure the proxy, replacing the proxy host, port, username, and password with yours:
    set ANT_OPTS=-Xms128m -Xmx800m -DproxySet=true -DproxyHost=10.0.0.0 -DproxyPort=80 -DproxyUser=myUsername -DproxyPass=myPassword

    Thanks for the post, it fixed my issue!

    I had a same problem.
    It was definately URL and SOAP Action Problem.
    Also, I didnt configure the Proxy too.
    Please dont waste more time in looking inot other configs.
    Just give a careful look at Target URL and SOAP Action, again and again.
    Sweta , Please make this question Answerd , it will be useful for other users.
    And Bahvesh Deserves good points..

    No point looking at the code. The error message says the code can't connect to the server you are trying to connect to, so presumably there's a firewall or something like that preventing the connection. Talk to your network people.

  • RMI on Debian: Connection Timed Out: connect

    Hi
    I have a Problem with my RMI Server program running under Debian.
    When i start the server it lasts for about 3 minute until the Object is bound to the RMI-Registry.
    I have a simple System.out.println("XXX bound"); statement after binding the registry.rebind(name, stub);
    Well it seems to work because no exception is thrown and i can see the println.
    But the big problem is, that it takes for about 3 minutes until this is done. when i try to connect to the server via the client,
    i get a
    "Connection refused to host: xxxxx; nested exception is:
    java.netConnectException: Connection timed out: connect"
    after a minute, the serverside doesn't make anything, no System.out statement is executed in the remote method.
    it seems that RMI is very slow on my Server machine and i can't figure out why.
    here are the properties set in the server program:
    System.setProperty("java.rmi.server.codebase", "xxxxxx"); //works
         System.setProperty("java.rmi.server.hostname", "xxxx.ath.cx"); //perhaps the problem
         System.setProperty("java.security.policy", "/var/www/dod/xxxxx.policy"); // should be no problemmy client is startet via webstart from the same server an has the lookup code:
    try {
                   registry = LocateRegistry.getRegistry("xxxx.ath.cx"); //perhaps the problem
                   idodsrmi = (XXXServerRMI) registry.lookup("xxxxxxx");
                   usrh = idodsrmi.getUserHandle(args[0], args[1]);
              } catch (AccessException e) {
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, e.getMessage());
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (RemoteException e) {
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, e.getMessage());
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (NotBoundException e) {
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, e.getMessage());
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } this code is executed without throwing an exception, but when i try to call methods on usrh i get the connection timeout...
    i can't see where the problem is, "xxxx.ath.cx" is the domain name my network is available from outside the lan,
    my router forwards port 80 and 1099 to my serverbox
    any ideas about the timeout?

    Yes that was it, i got the clou when i changed the hostname of my debian-box to xxx.ath.cx. after changing to that hostname i got an exception to google for.. ;-) But it's still strange to get no exception when the hostname of my debian-box differs from the dyndns name. it just lasts for about 3 minutes and seems to work...
    Well now im back to an older problem, my server uses hibernate to communicate with a db and when i make 2 .jars (1 hibernate-util with all hibernate related jars and 1 for my project) instead of 1 big jar with all jars i get the exception "No Persistence provider for EntityManager named DOD", thats a strange behavior too because the persistence.xml is at the same place in my project .jar... :-/

    i want to upgrade my ipad 1 software (i have 4.2.1 version and i want to upgrade it to a next version, as Itunes store suggests me every time i open it) but after the usual time of 13 minutes upgrade, i get this error: time out connection, contact your provider or control your connection (but it does function elsewhere)

    For me it worked when I switched the virus protection off while doing the installation. After you run the installation you then switch the virus protection back on.
    Hope it works for you too!

    Is it connected to the adapter framework definitions? Can someone help?

    Are you sure the mentioned SOAP url can be reached from XI AFW box? Can you take remote control over XI box and try a
    telnet 192.117.169.234 80
    That should go to blank screen on succesful connection. Is it so?
    Also, try to do a complete cpa cache refresh with this URL and authenticate with the XIAFUSER:
    http://host:port/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
    And finally, have a look in the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bd5950ff-0701-0010-a5bc-86d45fd52283">troublshooting guide</a>, which might contain something useful (it's really well done).

  • Time out connection in the classes12.zip

    Hello,
    How can I change the time out connection to my database in Java ? I use the JDBC thin driver (classes12.zip) to connect to an 8.1.6 standard Oracle edition on an NT Server.
    I tested a network problem connection removing the network cable and then my application waits 20 minutes to raise an exception.
    Thanks
    Guillaume Facon

    You need to set a tcpip timeout at the os level. Oracle jdbc does not support timeouts.
