FX5600 Drivers Install Problem

I finally got the FX5600 128 working after tossing out the old MSI MOBO, which only had a AGP4x, and replacing it with a GA-7N400L running a high end  Athlon and 1G of dual channel RAM. After all, it is Christmas   - Using WinXP/ SP1
Anyway, here's the problem:
Drivers install fine. PC does a restart, all is well. The FX5600 does what it is supposed to.
But when I do a COLD START,  the installed MSI/nVidea drivers disappear and I'm back to the defaul Windoze VGA drivers.
Essentially, if I switch the PC off and then cold start I need to re-install the FX5600 driver software.
Any ideas for a fix out there?
TIA

  • I finally solved my Canon LiDE Scanner Drivers install problem

I see there are many threads about LiDE (20/30/80 etc) Canoscan scanners no longer working under Snow Leopard. I had so much trouble and so many re-installs that I was wondering if 64-bit was never going to function with the old (2003) Canon software and drivers. My error was rudimentary - I failed to properly uninstall the scanner driver before I reinstalled. Here's how to clean install LiDE software:
Go to the website and get the 2008 or 2009 downloads: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportIndexAct
Start with selecting your Canon scanner series. Next click "OS" and then "OS X". The next part is annoying in that you have to download 3 things, but each one requires a licence "agreement" - and the refreshed page is a little clumsy to work.
When you have downloaded the latest software - use the Canon uninstall software first. It takes a few minutes to finish, but it will finish. Next install the ToolBox software so that the Driver will have a place to go later. Next install the Driver.
I believe you can do the above if you already have the ToolBox (without removing the ToolBox). Just properly uninstall the Driver and then install the newest 2008 or 2009 Driver from the Canon website.
My mistakes from the beginning were: 1.) to install old drivers, then to 2.) install the newer Driver OVER the old Driver, or 3.) to install the Driver first (before the ToolBox).
I was sooo surprised when it finally worked - I couldn't believe these details matter so much!
    Cheers

This didn't quite work for me — almost but not quite.
Download the relevant drivers, the Deldrv program and the Toolbox from Canon as suggested.
    First run the DELDRV uninstaller.
I found that this did not properly deal with everything! I could load the Scan program but everything crashed when I pressed SCAN. So:
Delete any existing Scan Toolbox from your user directory. — use APPZAP if you have it.
    Install the Toolbox.
Install the relevant driver. I received an error message to say that some files could not be found on installation. Despite this the installer returned the installation complete message.
If Canoscan still refuses to work follow this:
Open two finder windows (or use Path Finder) so that you have the LIDE (or driver) folder open in one and Route - MacintoshHD/Library/CFM Support in another.
    Open this.
In the driver's folder open Intro Lib_SFM Support.
Copy these over into the Library/CFM Support directory (even if the files look as if they are identical).
    r
Have a good look through the diver folder. It is quite easy to find where some of the folder files fit into the Library structure but you should find most of these are there already.
For me it was the installation of the CFM files that cracked it !!!

  • GT72 USB3 Drivers install problems

    Hi
I'm trying to install on a GT72 2QE Dominator Pro the USB drivers downloaded from the MSI official driver site but it keeps telling me that the Asmedia USB Host Controller was not found.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    How should I install this?
    Thanks

    Hi, I think your GT72 doesn't have USB3.1.
    Website spec doesn't list it.

3.1 driver might be for the future version.

  • Windows XP hangs on 'spash' screen after video drivers installed on K8N Neo4-F

Hiya folks - got a MASSIVE post for everyone here...  Sorry but I think it's necessary...  Here goes:
I just upgraded everything in my computer except for the HDD.  New case, power supply, etc.  I started by copying all important data from my original HDD to a portable USB 2.0 drive.  My data is safe, and intact on that drive.  So...  I formated and repartitioned the oroginal hard drive (1 partition), assembled the system and everything runs perfectly.  The problems come later....
The Windows installation is insanely fast and smooth...  and the system boots into Windows with no problems after installation is complete.  I didn't even need to install the nVidia RAID drivers because windows detects my single SATA drive fine.  The First thing I do upon seeing the desktop for the first time is: Install nVidia chipset drivers, then AMD Athlon 64 driver (both latest releases).  I then restart and the system boots fine.  After Windows starts, I'm asked for display drivers.  I click 'cancel', as specified in my ATI installation guide, open up the ATI CD and install the drivers via the ATI autorun setup.  At this point, there are no further drivers for me to install and NONE of them have an "!" near them.  So I figure everything is A-Okay and restart... BAM!! - Windows hangs on the splash screen.  The blue bar moves for about 10 minutes, then stops for 2, then moves for 2, and so on...  This will go on FOREVER.
So...  I boot into safe mode and uninstall the ATI software/drivers with the help of some other third-party programs, schedule a disk check with CHKDSK and reboot.  I startup in Directory Services mode to allow the disk check to complete.  No errors and the system restarts on its own (supposed to).  Now the system boots in normal mode again, but no video drivers installed.  So I download the latest drivers from the ATI website and install them.  I restart, and WHAM! -- same problem.  At this point I'm thinking "bad video card" so again I go into safe mode, remove drivers, schedule disk check, etc....   restart in Dir Serv mode...  "one or more errors found" this time...  but that's okay.
After the auto-restart I shut down the computer and unplugged EVERYTHING but the video card, HDD and one stick of RAM... then reset the CMOS, checked battery and PSU outputs (all fine) I then went back into the BIOS to ensure everything is set to 'as safe as possible' and restarted.  Again I tried the latest drivers, and again the same problem after restart.  So I then booted into safe mode, but left the drivers intactthis time.  I scheduled another disk check and restarted again in Dir Serv mode.  After system restart I shut the computer down and switched to my other RAM stick and booted...  same problem.  now I'm DEFINITELY thinking "bad video card" so I plug everything back in the way it's supposed to be, reset CMOS and restart with the Windows CD the drive.  I again format the HDD, etc... and install Windows.
Now, with another fresh Windows install, having read multiple tech articles, I thought this could be an issue with the NV SW IDE drivers, so I installed the driver pack minus that driver.  I restarted and the system boots fine.  Next, I again tried installing the latest ATI drivers, restart, and SLAMMO! -- again the system hangs on the splash screen.  So, rather than waste my time with disk checks, etc...  I did ANOTHER clean OS install.  This time I decided to try installing video drivers BEFORE the chipset drivers...  no such luck.  I restart and Windows hangs in the usual spot.
NOW, I'm REALLY getting upset and can hardly contain my fists of rage that crave to desimate the computer case and all its internal componets.  Time to RMA the video card.  I exchange the card for the same type, thinking this will solve my problem, I drive happily home with the new card.  Wouldn't you guess it...  SAME PROBLEM, on ANOTHER clean OS install!!!  Now I'm thinking "bad mobo"? - I don't know because it boots fine and runs fast without video drivers, but it seems to be directly linked to the video card.  So...  I figure "okay maybe these nForce boards don't like ATI cards"...  so I return the Radeon X700 and exchange for a BFG GeForce 6600GT.  Yep, you guessed it, STILL the SAME problem!!!
I 'm pretty-sure the problem has got to be with the mobo but I can't be too sure.  It doesn't seem too likely because the system boots and runs fine with basic Windows VGA drivers.  Also, if I were to try and boot to VGA mode after encountering this problem, that would not work at all either, in any situation, other than after removing the ATI drivers or installing windows without them initially.  Right NOW, as we speak, I tried uninstalling the nvidia drivers/software via safe mode, I ran disk check, etc...  but the system will no longer boot in normal mode or VGA mode even without the nvidia drivers installed.  I've formated the hard drive and am ready to reinstall again if I can find a solution to this problem.
If ANYONE can help me it would be EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!  I'm not a dummy when it comes to computers but this is pure MADNESS!!!  I couldn't even BEGIN to fit everything else I tried into this forum.  I had to sum-it-up, but I will gladly answer any questions from you 'brains' out there and will monitor this site daily.  I won't ask the question and disappear never to tell of the solution I may or may not find...
    Thanks in advance,
    Eilios

    Hi,
If you only have one Serial ATA Hard Disk, then you don't need the nVidia RAID Driver. This driver is only needed when you set up a Serial ATA RAID Array or a Parallel ATA RAID array. For this you must have two identical hard drives in your PC, for RAID 0 and RAID 1 arrays.
nVidia SATA RAID drivers supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1, and JBOD. When you install at least two Hard Drives, prepare your mainboard to use SATA RAID and
set up the RAID Array style you want to use.
Then you will need to install the nVidia RAID driver, to allow Windows to "See" and use the drives correctly. This is done by pressing the F6 Key, inserting the nVidia RAID Driver disk , and "telling Windows" where to find the driver it needs, at the very beginig of the Windows XP setup process.
However if you install a RAID driver with just one SATA Hard drive, or two SATA hard drives, (this last scenario not set to be used in an array, but as two different use drives, lets say one for OS and one for MP3 Storage), then Windows begins to load, it will load the RAID driver, but since there's no RAID Array, Windows will keep "looking" for an inexistant RAID Array, and if there's no such RAID array, this will take forever.
That's why installing nVidia RAID Driver may hang your system (which as you saw is  not really hung), at the Windows Splash Screen, it is just trying to find something that doesn't exitst.
NOTE: nVidia RAID Controller, supports RAID Arrays into both, the Serial ATA channels and the Parallel ATA (IDE) channels too. But for both options, you always need to have at least two identical hard drives installed to build up and use a RAID Array, which can only be seen by the nVidia RAID Driver, for both Serial ATA hard drives and Parallel ATA (IDE) hard drives.
NOTE: JBOD stands for Just a Bunch Of Disks = In this scenario, you can combine hard drives of different brands and/or capacities into one big drive that will be seen by Windows as one drive only.
NOTE: Even if you don't have any RAID array, you must install the nVidia nForce 4 Drivers. You can just leave the nVIDIA SATA Driver check box empty.
    Hope this helps
I did not have any RAID or SATA drive in my system, actually these were disabled in BIOS. I had the similar experience though. BTW, why NF4 chiset driver is very important to install if Windows XP drivers can get the job done? Look at my link in the previous post.

  • Tried to update iPod, failed, no new drivers installed. Now iPod does not show in my computer or in iTunes.

Anyone know how I can update/unbrick this iPod? It's useless. It's stuck on the screen that says connect to iTunes. iTunes doesn't know it's there. My computer doesn't know it's there. It's not the USB port.
Please don't direct me here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - already tried, no results.
Last time it was a missing driver for iTunes but iTunes says nothing new is needed. Help appreciated.

Let me try this again. My computer said my iPod needed an update. I clicked ok. iTunes said it was doing the update. I browsed the internet. I came back to it after it was done, and it said update failed, no new drivers installed. Now my iPod touch is a brick. I cannot use it for anything. You know that screen that shows the usb cable, a white arrow, and iTunes? It's stuck there. No amount of pushing the sleep/wake button and home button will convince it to go to any other screen. When I go to 'My Computer', it does not recognize that there is anything there. It is not the USB port. Everything was fine until the update tried and failed.
I am not installing iTunes (piece of crap software that it is) on the other computer in my apartment.
I have exhausted the articles that sort of go with the problems I am having. They all assume a non brick iPod. Mine is a brick and therefore those articles, including the one you linked, are not relevant.
Not meaning to be rude, but I came into this not caring much for Apple's business model. I've had my iPod for .. a week? Maybe two, and nothing I've seen has convinced me to feel otherwise. Apple's products are supposed to just work. I am not finding that to be the case. Anyone with anything helpful please?

  • Hard Drive Failed, New one Installed, Problems of course

Hellooo Everyone This is sort of a last ditch effort to see if I can fix this myself or if I am going to have to shell out 500 dollars to get my laptop back in working order. So I have a HP dv6-6140 laptop. A few weeks ago the hard drive failed and I purchased and installed a new one, ran windows 7 and have it on my laptop. When I try to hook up an ethernet cable to download and install the drivers for the laptop the ethernet cable is not recognized it says no internet connection blah blah blah. Ok so I downloaded the drivers to a flash drive and installed some of them onto my laptop, no changes.  So I was thinking of purchasing the recovery discs which im assuming include the drivers for the notebook for 35 dollars which is paltry in comparison to what I would pay if I took it to a computer repair shop, but how do I know that would work? I dont. I am looking for ideas or anything that I may be missing. I am not computer illiterate but I am not an expert. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
    Kelly

    Hi, Kelly:
On your model normally it is very important to install the chipset driver first and reboot before attempting to install the ethernet (wired network) driver.
The chipset drivers install some motherboard driver which I think enables the communication to the ethernet adapter.
The problem is, HP does not include the necessary chipset drivers for your model (which I assume is a HP Pavilion dv6-6140us Entertainment Notebook PC).
So...Download and install the AMD Chipset Drivers and reboot.  You want the first driver listed on the webpage.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%207%20-%2064
Then see if the ethernet adapter works again or reinstall the ethernet driver after you reboot the PC.
The parts list indicates your model comes with a Broadcom wireless/bluetooth card.
Here are the links to the drivers you need for that...

  • Can I have multiple Oracle drivers installed?

I have a Windows 2000 machine that has Oracle 7.3 drivers installed for one application and now I have another app going on that has 8.01.07.00 of the Oracle driver. I have been having problems getting the new driver installed and then both apps running. If I can get them both installed, will I need to combine the tnsnames.ora files into one or can I have both?
    Thanks.

I'm assuming that you have two different ORACLE_HOME's (i.e. both Oracle7 & Oracle8 client software has been installed into different directories). If this is the case, I believe this should work, though I don't believe it's officially supported.
8i added official support for multiple Oracle homes-- the latest ODBC drivers support multiple homes, although the ODBC drivers didn't add this support right with 8i. You may try grabbing the latest 8.1.7 driver, just to make sure that you've got a multi-home capable driver.

  • Do I have the right drivers installed?

& I have an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer (but the Dell version) that has the optical ports on it also.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. The Device Driver says:

    4/9/2009
    6.0..374
I d/led and installed the beta drivers, so I thought it shoul;d be 2.8.03

Well, at least now I know what's going on. It would be really decent of CL were they to document this problem SOMEWHERE here on the website. It's bad enough that DDL is broken in Windows 7. However, forcing their customers to waste days at a time trying to troubleshoot something that isn't fixable, as is, strikes me as pretty bad business manners. :|

  • Install problem on Win7 disables disc drive

I have an older version of Production studio that I had installed on a Windows XP Pro system.  I have recently obtained a new computer with Windows 7 Pro and am having a terrible time getting this product installed on my new computer.  At first it went through disc 1 (there are 5) and hung up. I had to reboot but my dvd drive was missing in action.  I had to do a system restore and tried again.  This time it made it to disc two and I had the same problem, it hung up and I had to do a system restore because drive was not visible.  After much searching and a denial of support from customer service, although I had spent thousands of dollars in purchase and upgrade over the years (sigh) I found a possible solution that stated a problem relating to an existing dvd authoring product that may be on my system and conflicting with the install.  This solution was not really acceptable since it indicated that my "installation" did not 'play nice' with a competing product, even though it came installed with my system (another sigh).  Another suggestion was uninstalling and reinstalling OS which was not acceptable either, since a vendors software, even if it is an older version should at least have some patches to allow it to work with the latest OS, not the other way around.  I have been very happy with my Production Studio software over the years but am very disappointed that it will not work with my newer system.  Compatibility mode won't work because I can't install it completely.  Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me in getting this to work with my new computer?  I can't affort the 800+ dollars to upgrade to the latest/greatest which will be 1200+ when the 5.5 versions release and I'm not crazy about switching to a commercial (ie non-professional) software alternative.  I mostly only need to continue with Premiere Pro and Photoshop but even if I upgrade those two it's not cost effective to a limited income retired person like me.  Any help greatly appreciated.  (and suspecting some comments on my user name, the site would not accept my regular login I've had for 15 years, so I just hit some keys to get this question input)
    Thanks, Bill

Well, I installed the virtual pc and xp compatibility software and it looks like it may have worked.
Premiere Pro was missing a .dll but when I clicked on ok, it still loaded up.  Photoshop needed
printer drivers installed, which was kind of redundant to have them installed twice but I guess
the virtual pc is like a dual boot but already active on Win7.  Thank you for your suggestions
to help me get this working.  Now I need to save up to upgrade when CS8 comes out

  • Why does the software update say that drivers for my printers are not available? I have the drivers installed from the CD but can't add the printer because it wants to go through software update.

I have the latest operating system, but can't get my printers added. Why does the software update say that drivers for my printers are not available? I have the drivers installed from the CD but can't add the printer because it wants to go through software update.

It's pretty difficult to offer suggestions when you say nothing about your Mac, the version of Mac OS it's running, or the models of printers you have. This forum, however, is intended for questions about old, pre-G3 hardware, so unless you are asking about an very old Mac, this is not the forum where you'll be most likely to get help with your problem. I'd suggest you ask this question in the forum for your model of Mac or version of Mac OS X it's running. You'll be more likely to get assistance there, assuming you provide sufficient detail for anyone to make a diagnosis of the problem.

  • TNS Timeout Error with both 32bit and 64bit drivers installed

I have a server running WIndows 2008 64bit and SQL Server 2012 64bit. I have both the 32bit and 64bit Oracle ODBC drivers installed. 32bit is for SSIS and SSRS uses 64bit. I have an ODBC connection setup for both the 32bit and 64bit. I have the datasources setup for the 64bit and when I test it it works. When I go to run a query I get TNS timeout errors. Any ideas?

    Thank you very much, Curt!
It's right: When the 64bit version is running, then the PSDs will be opened by this.
But the configuration under "Bridge Edit/preferences/file type assoiciatons" has the same result as under the "Windows/Systemcontrol/Standardprograms": Never they show the name "Adobe Photoshop.exe (64bit)" - only "Adobe Photoshop.exe" In both cases (Bridge and systemcontrol) I have the possibility to choose the "right" Photoshop.exe by going to the right file (32bit OR 64bit), but the name of the .exe is ever the same: Only "Adobe Photoshop.exe". There is no difference.
And so even if the 64bit version is preferred (in Bridge), the PSD-files will be opened in the 32bit-version, when no one of both versions is running.
But - so or so - you have given me a way to solve my basic-problem!
And when I find the time for experiments, I will show what happens, when I rename the 64bit-exe to "Adobe Photoshop64.exe" to get two different filenames for Photoshop in the Windows-System. (I'm not shure if this will function: When in the Photoshop-System are intrinsic lnks/references to "Photoshop.exe", then I will have no success! Therefore I have to make a HDD-Clone with the whole Windows-System, all Apps and my Working-data before I try to rename. Perhaps there is "no way back to the activation" after renaming the .exe ...
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Oh-Mann

  • NForce driver install problem

I downloaded the nForce XP 2.45 drivers. When I double click on setup, the nVidia logo pops up with the progress bar reading "NVIDIA nForce Drivers Setup is preparing the InstallShield Wizard, which will guide you through the rest of the setup process. Please wait." When the blue bar goes to the right and finishes, it just stops. The nVidia logo and the progress bar disappear and nothing else happens. No install, nothing. Any insight as to how this can be fixed will be greatly appreciated. Here are the specs of my computer:
    AMD Athlon XP 1700+
    MSI K7N2 Motherboard
    Envision 910e 19" Color Monitor
    Windows XP Professional Edition
    128 MB DDR GeForce4 Ti4200 Video Card
    1024 MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM
40 GB 7200 RPM Western Digital HD
    Lite-On 16X DVD ROM
    Lite-On 24X10X40X CD-RW Drive
    VIA AC'97 Audio Card
    Teac 1.44MB Floppy Drive
    NVIDIA nForce MCP Networking Adapter
Toshiba Cable Modem with AT&T Broadband Internet

Thanks for your responses. You brought some things to my attention that I forgot to include in my original post. 1) This is not a new build. I just want to update my drivers 2) I am reluctant to delete my old drivers for fear that I might not be able to reinstall them. And now, the driver CD that came with the motherboard is experiencing the same problem. 3) Restarting the computer did not help. I don't think the file is corrupt since now I am experiencing the same problem with the CD. Are there any programs/services/etc. that could cause this problem if disabled? And the Detonator drivers install fine. I'm really stumped.

  • OS 9 Install problem on imac G3

    hello all,
i have an OS install problem on my imac . I just finished formatting the drive . the drive is
    paritioned :
    1st partition = HD1: 5.5 Gb
    2nd partition = HD2 : 2.5 Gb
    3rd partition = HD3 : 110+ Gb
Then, in order to save some time ( i thought ) , i tried directly install os 9 from an imac
DV CD , on HD1 : i thought i d be quicker so i would have to start with os 8.5 then upgrade to 8.6 and etc .
that turned out to be a bad idea. the system install warned me it couldnt install Air port because the hardware wasnt compatible . it gave me two options : either ignore this message or quit . i chose ignore : again certainly a bad choice .
After the install was finished , the mac wouldnt start on HD1 . the sytem install is apparently incomplete ,or anycase it doesnt work .
i then installed os 8.5 from original imac tray load install CD on HD2 , and it works fine .
now the question is : what should i do with my bad os9 system ? i need an operating system on this partition. perhaps i can trash it and reinstall mac os8.5 on it ? i hope there is a way to get out of this without formatting the drive again .
    thanks for any advice .

about the os9 CD : it is a retail verson , only not of the same imac model .
That is not a retail version of OS 9. A retail version of OS 9 has no dependencies on any model of Mac. You have a machine specific disc which probably won't work with your iMac.
1/ i dont know how to reformat a partition without formatting the entire drive . perhaps you can explain .
In OS X you use Disk Utility and only select the partition that you want to reformat. It has been ages since I used OS 8 so I'm not sure if it is even possible using "Drive Setup".

  • Nano install problems. Works on USB 1.1!

Twelve months ago I went through the getting an IPOD to install properly problems with my son's IPOD, on his all singing all dancing new PC. Only finally resolved this by installing via the firewire port rather than USB. Therefore it was with some trepidation that I recently got a Nano for my wife's birthday, but hey I thought someone like Apple would have got their act together in the interim and installing should be straight forward. Have they? NO! Tried installing the Nano on my aging Pentium III which has a USB 2.0 PCI card, and for which all other devices plugged into it worked OK. Couldn't even get Windows to properly recognise it "A problem occurred during harware install your device may not be working properly". Tried Apple's suggestions and other users suggestions all to no avail. Firewire install option is not a possibility with Nano, but finally thought why not try one of the USB 1.1 ports on my aging computer, and guess what it installed first time and works without any problems. Transfer rate is not to bad either 850 songs in 1hr 10min. The only slightly different thing I did (which some other users also say) is not to re-boot the computer at the end of installation when it prompts you to and start using Itunes straight away and do some downloading then re-boot later.
Not much comfort to users with newer PC's but if you have an older computer with a USB 1.1 port and have install problems, try it as it may work for you as well.
Like every one else with install problems on PC's I say "come on Apple" individually or together with Microsoft please get this sorted out. My view of Apple was that they have great products (still true) that are easy to use (still true) and install without problems (patently not true).
    Pentium III 800   Windows XP

Gosh, I have tried this many times. Over several days. I have also reset the shuffle, which as far as I can tell, consists of turning it on and then off.
Last night, it started updating the music via the keyboard USB 1.1, which I know takes forever. Then it lost communications and quit.
