FX5600, poor color quality problem

I have recently installed an MSI FX5600XT-TD256 into my PC cause my old card wasn't directx enabled so I got this one.  The picture quality is really average when you look at photos, the color of a light on in the background for example is very pixelated.  There's no smooth gradient of color.  I've tried installing the latest Nvidia drivers but still no luck.  If anyone could help it would be great.
Thanks.

timjd4,
Try changing your refresh rate and your monitor and see what happens.
Take Care,
Richard
P.S. If that does not help, you could always try a fresh install of your OS.

  • Poor Color Quality on Finished DVD

Authoring a project using DVDSP I've noticed an infuriating problem with regards to colour.
The finished disc played back on my Mac looks great. The colours in the video are properly saturated.
But playing them on my TV set, all the colours look muted except for deep reds which glow and fringe. Everything else looks desaturated.
At first I suspected the TV, but here's a strange thing. When I play the slideshow off my DVD - containing uncompressed JPEGS of photos - all the colours are vibrant and properly saturated.
Also, any RGB photoshop graphics that appear in my finished video are properly saturated with very vibrant colours.
I tried using the QT conversion and compressor inside FCP with various settings but the colour always comes out the same.
Any ideas? Should I suspect the TV set, as I don't have a broadcast monitor here at the moment to test it with.

    Many thanks for this.
I tried the procedure you mentioned. I added the 3 way colour corrector. I couldn't find any chrominance level just the one saturation slider, which I increased about 20%. I then reduced the brightness sliders beneath each colour wheel.
However, my results weren't too good. I had better colour saturation but a much deeper contrast. Also, colours that were fringing and flickering were amplified even worse. Red being the biggest villain. Deep, bright reds just seem to glow and flicker all over the place and deep yellows bleed out.
It's at the point that I'm seriously considering jacking in my MAC and going for a PC. Final Cut is fantastic, but I have to get my final movie replicated and it's not helping. This is the worst problem but I can't get any joy with VBR on MPEG 2 compression either. Compressor just adds horrendous glitches to the picture, and Quicktime isn't any better. I'm having to encode at a fixed bit rate of 7.5Mbps and with all this colour draining, it's just becoming a horrible nightmare and I'm wondering if a PC wouldn't be able to compress my completed film at a better bit rate and with better colour.
Any more suggestions would be most helpful.

  • Large pdf(40MB) with 600 pages color quality is poor if i print more than 1 or 2 pages at a time.

I have a 40MB PDF file with over 600 pages of color images. If i print each page one at a time, there is no issue whatsoever with the quality, but if i print say 5 pages, the 4th and 5th page and any subsequent page will look like rubbish. In general, just not the same color quality as before. The Konica Minolta printer doesn't seem to be at fault here because like i mentioned, this problem does not occur if i print individual sheets, just if i print more than 5 or so.
Printing individual sheets in this instance, however, is not a real solution because in all the job will have many thousand pages. What do i do? Any one here experience a similar problem?

You were able to catch me whilst my Konica Minolta tech was here.
This is my take on his diagnosis,
The c353 while capable of quality output is not exactly a robust production level machine.
Without the aid of a RIP, all the processing needs to happen either in memory or it may have a hdd. Does the machine have a hard drive?
In either case, you are running out of memory.
Changing the printers properties on spooling may aid in completing the job.
He mentioned sending the job as raster. Print as Image from Acrobat's Advanced tab would do that, but I think you would cripple your computer doing such. Try it; be prepared to go out to lunch or something while it churns away.

  • Have Apple 5... Suddenly photos are coming out too dark and poor color....any ideas as to problem

Camera taking poor pictures....too dark, flash goes off but picture quality poor.  Just started this recently

Did you alrready try the general troubleshooting?
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

  • Problems with color quality when saving photos.

I never used to have any problems, but just recently I have noticed that, after cropping, editing, resizing my photos, and saving....they look fine on my screen while open in photoshop, but yet when attaching them and emailing or posting them, the color quality seems to change. The photo ends up looking quite different than my original photo (the edited copy). I can't figure out for the life of me what is causing this and do not remember ever having this problem before. The only thing that has changed is a new monitor. I don't think that would have any bearing, because like i said, everything looks great until the photos are sent. (when looking in my sent folder, i can see the "altered" state of the image. it's not just a problem with someone elses computer settings, etc)
A newbie here with low tech skills, lol. Any help is appreciated, I would just like my pictures to be seen by others in the color state and quality as they appear to me, and it is frustrating.
I hope my explanation of my problem makes sense and look forward to any advice. (I'm hoping there is a quick solution like a setting I need to click on or off!??)
    (using Elements 2.0)

    Hi Amy:
Sorry that the Color Setting idea didn't do the trick. Since the occurrence is separate, that is, seeing one color view using Elements and a different color view using email view. I still suspect this area.
Calibrating a monitor to me (as the saying goes), is easier said than done. You may want to do a web search using Calibrate Monitor, or similar search words. This will find some interesting websites on calibrating monitors you can read and try out. If you do change some settings, write down what your original settings are before hand, so if you make it worse, you can go back where you started.
There are two areas to calibrate the monitor.
    1. Using the monitor controls on the monitor itself.
    or/and
    2. Using the graphics card (software) control. Which is normally found (Win XP) DISPLAY PROPERTIES>SETTINGS>ADVANCED> then the TAB with your graphics card name.
    3. Actually there is a third one, which uses a very expensive device that connects to the monitor. At the moment this method escapes me. Mainly used by professionals and serious photo editing people.
    Good Luck!

  • Poor picture quality in crystal reports

    Post Author: marina
    CA Forum: .NET
    Hello,
I need insert high-quality photos of some products to a crystal report dynamically and then export this report to a PDF file to be printed by the customer as some proposal of products.
Some time ago I developed a web-application using MS Visual Studio .NET 2003 and Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2003 to generate PDF reports. I added images to reports generating BLOB objects at runtime. But the customer complains on poor quality of images in exported reports. The images in the exported reports have a problem of lost smooth color gradation. Now Iu2019m investigating if Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2005 would help me.
So, now Iu2019m using MS Visual Studio .NET 2005 and Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET 2005 for a test and nevertheless I have the same problem with poor image quality in a total report and an exported PDF file. If I insert a photo file (e.g., TIF or PNG, RBG/8) to a report template, I see an original good-quality picture (RBG/8) on the template screen. I do not use any scaling in the test. If I just switch to the Preview tab to preview the report, I see a bad-quality picture instead. It has the same width and height but has lost smooth color gradation and looks like a 256-color picture. The option "Retain Original Image Color Depth" does not help. I have the same problem with image quality in an exported PDF or MS Word file.
Is it possible to manage total image quality in crystal reports and how?
Your prompt reply will be very much appreciated.

    Hello,
Iu2019ve found how to solve this problem in Crystal Reports for MS VS.NET 2005. The option u201CRetain Original Image Color Depthu201D in the Report Options window helps u2013 the preview screen and the exported PDF file contain images of suitable good quality.
Iu2019ve found information on the u201CRetain Original Image Color Depthu201D option here: http://support.businessobjects.com/library/kbase/articles/c2016162.asp?ref=devzone_rss_net.
Unfortunately, I donu2019t have the full version of Crystal Reports 9 or 10 to check if this helps to solve image quality problem in the application on MS VS.NET 2003.
So, I try to edit source report templates in Crystal Reports for MS VS.NET 2005. I set the u201CRetain Original Image Color Depthu201D option in the Report Options window for them. Then I use these updated templates in my old application on MS VS.NET 2003 u2013 I donu2019t edit the templates there, I just load these updated templates at runtime. Dynamic images are added as BLOB objects to a data set at runtime to bind the reports. But I still have the same problem of lost color gradation in generated reports and exported PDF files. I also insert static images for a test to the report templates in MS VS.NET 2005 and then generate reports again by the application on MS VS.NET 2003. I have the same problem of lost color gradation for the static images too.
So, is it possible to use u201Coriginal image color depthu201D in an application written on MS VS.NET 2003? Or should I remake the project under MS VS.NET 2005 to retain original image color depth?
Your prompt reply will be very much appreciated.

  • Really poor image quality when watching DVDs

    Hi,
I was just wondering whether anybody else has experienced really poor image quality whilst watching DVDs on their MacBook? For me, the image is really grainy or blurry. I am pretty sure it cannot be the DVDs as this problem is happening with every film I watch!
Is this a common problem? What can be done (if anything) to resolve this?
    Many thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
open system preference>display, and check if your color depth is in millions color.
try other dvd player like VLC for mac:

    Good Luck.

  • Why does Firefox force 8bit color quality when it starts and distort some elements of my screen?

Have no problem with other programs when I set color quality to 32bit. But when I start Firefox the screen looks like a low res screen. If I go look at the color quality in settings it will be at 8bit and changing it appears to fix things. Until I close Firefox and restart it then I am back to 8bit and poor looking graphics and even the windows start button will be messed up as well as the windows icon on the start button

Right-click on the shortcut that you use to start Firefox and select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab and de-select all of the settings.
If none of the settings are selected, repeat the above process, but this time using Windows Explorer right-click on the firefox.exe file, default location is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

  • Poor sound quality in timeline and export; fine in Source?

    Hello all.
Newbie to Pr but experienced pro in digital audio. I'm stumped and know I'm just missing something somewhere.
I've made a music video for one of my songs. The graphics are all done (in AE), imported to Pr and eveything looks great. I import the final mix of the audio and it sounds very low quality when played from the timeline and in the final output, regardless of format (I've tried several presets and custom settings as well). I played around and noticed that the audio sounds fine when played from the Source window inside Premier.
The Pr session is comrised of 18 video tracks (not all playing at once, of course) and one stereo audio track.
I've tried re-exporting the audio from Logic at different bit depths, sample rates and file formats (mp3, wav, AAC, etc) but the results are the same every time: Source (Pr)sounds fine, Logic output sounds fine, rendered / timeline playback sounds like very low quality mp3 and final product sounds just as bad.
I've tried everything I can think of. I hope one of you can show me what I'm missing.
    TIA!

    Thank you for the reply!
I was experiencing the same results no matter what export settings I used. Plus the poor sound quality was present in the timeline itself, without even exporting the project.
I finally threw my hands up, started a completely new project, drug the same audio file in... sounded fine. Copied / Pasted the video clips from the original, broken project and boom, eveything is fixed. Yeah, corrupted Pr file it turns out. All I had to do was start a new project and import all the old components.
I've had to do this in Logic a lot (increasingly, these days). I just wish I'd tried it 10 hours earlier! Ha.
Anyway, problem solved, and thanks very much!

  • HP LaserJet 2600n poor print quality/streaking

I am the original owner of an HP LJ 2600n with a poor print quality/streaking issue. The poor print quality occurs with any and all paper that I use (currently Hammerhill 20# stock) and occurred with Windows XP and Windows 7. The print cartidges are all genuine HP and changing them does not make any difference. I have cleaned the front door roller with no improvement.  My firmware version is 20070716. The black cartridge is at 33%; yellow 75%; cyan 91% and magenta 91%...
Any advice would be appreciated. An example of the output is attached below:

    Hi everyone,
I have resolved my problem. I took a leap and purchased a new toner cartridge, and the new catridge works great. Installed it yesterday and the test page comes out clean, clear and with no double image. I'm happy.
Apparently the printer had not had a print item sent to it in over a year. I think that was actually hard on the toner cartridge.
Tthanks to everyone for their help via private emails!

  • Very poor video quality after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS5.1

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I have very poor video quality after transcoding the video file (MPEG) in  Adobe Encore CS5.1. Below you see my used settings in my filmproject.
The problem exists after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS5.1. I checked all steps and found out that there is no problem until transcoding. My exported file  in MPEG has very good video and audio quality.
    Facts:
    1. Camcorder: Panasonic AG-AC160AEJ
Operating System : Windows 7, 64 Bit, Ultimate edition
    Source files: MTS files
    Recording settings (clip settings):
    Type: MPEG Movie
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 25,00
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,0
    2. Sequence settings in Premiere Pro
Sequence was created from Clip directly with settings above.
    3. Exporting settings in Adobe Premiere Pro:
Match sequence settings was activated. Now other changes were set.
    4. Exported File:
    Video
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Data Transfer Rate: 25920 kBit / s
    Frame rate: 25
    Audio:
    Bit rate: 384 kBit / s
    Channels: 2 (stereo)
    Frequence: 48 kHz
    5. Transcoding settings in Adobe Encore:
I used different transcoding settings such as automatic DVD Transcoding, CBR and VBR.I also set “use maximum render quality”. But all results were always the same: very poor quality.
Why does the encore transcoding cause such bad video quality?
How can I solve this problem?
    Please help me soon.
    Best regards.

    Hi Ann,
    1) I did not only „Automatic (based on source)“ options in my tests, but also many other customized options.
The results are very poor. I have done a new test with the following settings. The result is also poor:
    Download link: http://www.klavierlehrer-bayern.de/download/test_mpeg2dvd_1.m2v
    Export Settings:
    Format: MPEG2-DVD
    Preset: Custom
Codec: MainConcept MPEG Video, Quality: 5
    Frame Rate: 25 fps
    Field Order: Upper
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Automatic (based on source)
    Render at Maximum Rate: [active]
    Bitrate Encoding: VBR, 2 pass
    Minimum Bitrate (Mbps): 5
    Target Bitrate (Mbps): 9
    Maximum Bitrate (Mbps): 9
    GOP Settings
    M Frames: 4
    N Frames: 12
    Use Maximum Render Quality: [active]
    Multiplexer: None
    2) Why shouldn’t I use the “Match Sequence Settings” in exporting? Because of the big output file size?
I used it and the results are very good as I expected:
    Download link: http://www.klavierlehrer-bayern.de/download/test_MatchSequenceSettings.mpeg
    Export Settings
    Match Sequence Settings [selected]
    1920 x 1080, 25 fps, Upper, Quality 50
    User Maximum Render Quality: [active]
    3) I tried also Dynamic Link in PremierePro (to Encore).
    The results are also poor.
    4) I will test also LagarithLoslessCodec and frameserving +DGMPGDec. But the video is vertical long drawn-ot.
I think I did not use it correctly.
    Regards

  • Color Quality in Web Browsers

I built a website using iWeb 08 to display some photographs and published it to my personal domain via MobileMe. When I view the website in either Firefox (my primary browser) and Internet Explorer, the color quality of all the pictures is diminished somewhat. The colors are not as bright and vibrant as they are when viewing them in iWeb or Aperture. When I view the website in Safari, the colors are fine. The website is www.brianjhebert.com if anyone wants to do a comparison.
Is there some sort of setting that I missed for the colors to display correctly in Firefox and IE?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Hi Brian, love your website. I am also using iWeb (ver 1.1.2) to make a photo website but I have not come across the thumbnail display and enlarge pic setting like yours. Is it from one of the templates ? Your colors on my Mac mini/Smasung monitor are vibrant alright. No color problem there.

  • Has anyone had issues with poor image quality when using lightroom to process raw images from Canon 7dmk2

    Hi everyone..
..I have been having image quality issues when using Lightroom to process raw files from a 7d mk2... They are all soft with poor clarity.....tonight in despair I tried processing them  using  canon's software and they are totally different..."much better"
    anyone else had similar problems....Andy

I have a 7D2 and have not had what I interpret as poor image quality that has anything to do with the camera.
Can you post a screenshot of what you’re seeing and what specifically you don’t like?  Maybe there is something you can do differently or at least there may be an explanation for what you’re seeing.
And if you have a raw image that you wouldn’t mind sharing in a public forum, upload to http://www.dropbox.com/ then post a public share link to it in a reply, here.
In other words post a screenshot of what you see in LR, another of what you see using DPP, and a link to the raw file you’re processing.

  • Poor image quality save for web

It doesn't matter whether i'm exporting from Ai or Ps or whether it's CS6 or CC. I have changed the raster settings in Ai and i've also tried all optimization options with all different export file types (jpg, png, gif) at all different quality settings. It doesn't matter if I start with an ai, eps, pdf, png... the export result is always poor quality.
I have tried exporting at 300ppi and that does fix the quality issue and bloats the file size, but this way (the export route) is so time consuming since you have to resize your artwork each time as well as the artboard so that it doesn't cut off pixels. Save for web never used to have these quality issues and it also never used to cut off pixels around the edges. These workarounds prove very time consuming and produce file sizes that are not ideal.
When i first noticed this issue I was using Mavericks with CS6 and since am using Yosemite and Creative Cloud.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create any bitmap or vector graphic in Ai or Ps, It doesn't matter whether you convert text to outlines or not
    2. Save for web
    3. View image in any application or browser to see poor quality and pixel trimming. Others running the same version and system are not having this issue, but I have checked many forums and found many others that do have this same issue but can't seem to find a solution.
Results:stair stepping, degradation, pixel trimming, general poor image quality
Expected results: Previously the save for web feature allowed for a decent quality image

First try the Cleaner. here's the link for CC but there exists one for Cs6 as well Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Everything I have read says that you kind of have to compromise file-size for quality. Could you post a screenshot of your settings?
also, if it helps: Creative Suite * Optimizing images

  • Print driver/color profile problems after 2.0 update

Since I updated to the latest version of aperture 2 I have had problems with printing on my canon 5200R printer. The coloring is way off, as if aperture does not seem to recognize the canon print drivers or color profiles. I have read about printing from another program but was so happy with color quality using aperture 1.5, is there a fix for the current problem?
