FX6800-05 from Gateway

Best Buy carries the "FX6800-01E" but what about the "FX6800-05"?
What happened to this computer?  It was listed on Gateway's website last week as "for sale at Best Buy."  But it was never for sale there, and now it has vanished from Gateway's website altogether!  Gateway had even put out a proud press release concerning this computer.
Does anyone know what's going on??  Neither Best Buy nor Gateway seems to know a thing.  Help please!
Thanks!

It happens from time to time, they replace it with something similar at the last minute

  • New Install - ICMP Host Unreachable from gateway

    Hi team,
I'm configuring a new solaris x86 box for the first time in a long time and I'm running into a problem that has me stumped.
I just installed Solaris 10 v7 on a P4 Dell box with an intel pro1000 adapter loaded.
Installed using ZFS and install went well. I set a static IP of 192.168.1.70 on a proper 192.168.1.x lan.
After install, everything seems to work fine but cannot ping a FQDN such as www.google.com, etc.
at first, I tried to join a local domain - maxximgroup.com and my computer name is set to sunzilla.
    Here's my network config files;
sunzilla is set up with static IP = 192.168.1.70
    # ifconfig -a
    lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index 1

    # Internet host table
    ::1 localhost
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    192.168.1.70 sunzilla loghost
And my resolv.conf file shows my internal DNS routers as well as a 3rd I added (4.2.2.2) just in case...
    # cat /etc/resolv.conf

I noticed the /etc/defaultrouter file was MISSING... so I created one pointing to my router...
    # cat /etc/defaultrouter
    192.168.1.1
And finally, I checked the /etc/nsswitch.conf file and it does indeed show hosts & ipnodes --> files & dns ...

Can anyone provide some guidance pls?

Thanks Robert. You were absolutely on the right track. It turns out that in my "rush" to get my new ZFS "toy" up and running, during the install, I gave Solaris a static address but told it to automatically find the gateway. Oops! When solaris 10 installed, it correctly decided that since it had a static IP, it should assign the gateway as itself! So, naturally, when I ran netstat -m, It showed my gateway as myself! 192.168.1.70 sunzilla.
I'm used to running Solaris on a Sparc platform and I'm a bit uncomfortable with reboots and I figured there would surely be a network restart command somewhere. After finding out that things have now changed in Solaris 10 quite a bit from Solaris 8, I just decided to init 6.
After the system came up, everything was happy : -)
So again, thanks to Robert for helping save the day!

  • Message from Gateway when sending on arch-general list with Mutt

    Hello,
a second issue with Mutt. This only happens when I send or reply ( <L>) to arch general list. I do not know for other arch lists, as I didn't posted, but I do not have this issue with other lists or private mail.
When I send the mail, I receive a mail
    FROM : Gateway
    Subject : NDN:
    Body :
Sorry. Your message could not be delivered to:
Kingeryj,FirstClass (The name was not found at the remote site. Check that the name has been entered correctly).
This is a little annoying. My first thought was this message came because of a list member wrong address. But wrong, as I am the only one with this message.
Maybe some headers issue? Here is my config about headers:
    ignore * #ignore all headers
unignore from to cc date subject reply-to
hdr_order from subject date to cc reply-to
    Nothing particular.
When I reply to list with <L>, here are my headers:

    CC:
Subject : Re : [arch-general] blah blah blah

Host: Magnolia on Archlinux <------ My box
I do not see anything suspicious.
I use a gmail account with offlineimap + msmtp (my msmtprc is very basic).
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you

I think almost every dev is on arch-general, so that is the place to contact the group in general.  Specific points can probably be emailed to the dev involved, if one is identifiable and if the bug tracker is not a better place (bug reports to my email get ignored).
I think the whole problem here is that there is really no dev in charge of that package.  So your emails were probably seen then skipped over by all devs thinking not my problem...  (I know that is true for me).   Then Andrea noticed an "orphan" package that needed updated and went ahead with it without connecting it to your previous emails, which is unfortunate.
Now our maintainer backend is fixed, hopefully we can get all the orphan packages adopted out, or at least know if we need to bring on new people to maintain them.  That way, there should always be someone who information about specific packages should be sent to.

  • 5800 Xpress Music: No response from gateway

    Hi there!
I'm not able to connect to internet with my phone.
The phone "sees" the network (it asks me for the WEP2 password), then it says that it is connected, but when I try to browse it gives me the "No response from gateway" message.
This happens in my house and at my work, so I can't use it.
At my house or work, I'm able to connect with any computer, just by putting the WEP2 password.
    So, what's happening here?
    Thanks

ifconfig -a will show when you have a duplicated IP address.
It appears along with the text values for the interface flags ie
    host-u010|global$ ifconfig -a
    lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index
    1

    inet 10.236.93.156 netmask ffffffc0 broadcast 192.168.93.191
    groupname data
    host-u010|global$
You would see DUPLICATE or DUPLICATED in that field, and the flags would be different. Sorry, I don't have a duplicate IP situation going on right now, but my memory says it looked something like this:
    host-u010|global$ ifconfig -a
    lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index
    1

  • Three agent UR versions gets installed from gateway - SCOM 2012 SP1 UR4

    Hi,
We have a SCOM 2012 SP1 UR4 installation with several gateways that servers connect to and get installation from.
We noticed that when the agent get installed on a client server it gets first the agent itself, then UR1, UR2 and last UR4.
From the XML-section in the task that has installed the agent one can read the following:
    SoftwareUpdateInstalled KB2784734-amd64-Agent.msp;KB2826664-amd64-Agent.msp;KB2880799-amd64-Agent.msp; SoftwareUpdateInstalled
Below is from the application log of a newly installed server that got the agent installed.
The question I have is if this is correct? Why are all three UR installed?
Shouldn't it be enough with the latest version of UR? Are they not cumulative?
Can I simply delete the older versions in the agent directory of the Gateway?

    Hi,
This should be normal, as we can see in the below two articles. When applying Update Rollup 2, UR1 is listed there, and when applying Update Rollup 3, UR1 and UR2 is listed there also.

For example, UR3 can be applied to System Center Operations Manager 2012 SP1 (as released) or a SCOM 2012 SP1 deployment that has had UR1 or UR2 already applied.

  • Which way to enforce policy for endpoint from gateway router instead of switch

    Dear team,
I am proposing ISE to customer. They want to deploy ISE as central authentication and policy point for users in branches. I would like to ask if this scenario is possible or not:
    - When user client is plugged into access switch, the switch will use 802.1x or MAB in switch port
    - After authentication, as normal method, we will push a dACL or VLAN change from ISE to switch in authorization statements. But customer dont want to apply port ACL on switch. They want to enforce policy from the gateway Router.
So is there any way to do that? I'm thinking about SGT but I dont have any experience on it. Please help to solve this problem. Thank you very much.
    Kind regards,
    Hiep Nguyen.

    Hiep,
You can use authentication proxy to push ACLs for users on the router. However the port based ACL is your best approach because you can determine authorization at the port level and if the user moves so does the policy.
    thanks,

You asked whether there are any other solutions other than JavaBean.
    There are ..
It is a round about way. But should work good on WEB. This is particular to MS things.
As you know you can use vb scripting to invoke all of this Ms things on WEB. So the trick is have a dynamic page called with your actual doc name as a parameter. Script and do whatever you want in this Dynamic method. And from within Forms call this Dynamic page using WEB.show_document( remember within Forms I can call any WEB viewable doc ). It should do the job.
But ( And that is a big but...)..
You need to take care of lot many things here.
You must have a app server which would support scripting like VB. And you must have MS OFFICE in the server . I understand this works best with 2000.
So finally it boils down to what I need and what I have. And Yes It requires a good effort.
    Great going??? :))
    Good Luck
    Vijay

  • Migrate content from Gateway server 2.0 to NW 7.4

    Hi All,
We have a migration planned with our client. In the current situation, there is a separate Gateway server 2.0 on NW 7.02 system.
On this gateway server custom developments are done. Now we have to move to cloud solutions where the server available will be NW 7.4 which has built in gateway server. The NW 7.4 is on Linux and Sybase where NW 7.02 is on HP-UX and Oracle database. The database restore/ recovery method is not to be used here. Can we migrate contents from NW 7.02 via transport to the new NW 7.4 system?

I don't think you should have any complexities with moving a request to your system in cloud. At least, your GW developments / any developments in ABAP are independent of underlying databases/operating systems and would have no impact if you are transporting them.
But, there might be some challenges if there are some deprecated methods or features which should be looked at on pure Gateway perspective, however, there should be relevant notes to address such incompatibilities.

  • Connecting NWBC from Gateway using OData

    Hi All,
I am looking possible option to connect with NWBC client from Odata service.. The reason is - We have some reports created in NWBC and we want to use this reports to avoid any UI development by using the existing reports.
Can we create a service which receive request from front end UI application in our Gateway server and route the request to NWBC.  So we can see the portal reports..
Please advice if this is possible..
    -Rajesh

Ideally you can call anything from the DPC class that ABAP allows you to call.
May be what you can try is to create an RFC that would call the report and send the data.
Then you can call the RFC from the DPC class.
Not sure if this helps you ..

  • Trouble Transferring iTunes Media/Library from Gateway to new Macbook

    Hi everyone,
I tried following the directions on Apple's site to consolidate my iTunes library, copy it to a flash drive and then transfer it to iTunes on a new MacBook I just purchased but I'm encountering an issue. After getting to the "Choose Library" option, I selected the library file I also copied to the flash drive and it will open up the 3300+ songs I had on the Gateway in the MacBook's iTunes. However, when I click on a song, I get the "!" beside each song and error message that iTunes can't locate the file and have to navigate to the direct location of that song (which has now been transferred to the iTunes>Music foler on the MacBook's HD)and the the song will play normally. I really don't want to have to do this for all 3300, so can anyone tell me where I went wrong in the transfer?
    Thanks!

I selected the file from the MacBook HD location, but when I was originally copying the folder/files from the Gateway, I opted not to copy the games, iPhone and movies folders. I only copied the "Music" folder and the individual files that were in the iTunes Media folder (I'm not at the MacBook right now so I can't provide the specific names) like the library file. I'll have to wait until I get home from work tonight and I'll be able to provide the exact names of what I transferred.

  • I have some old Boston Digital speakers from Gateway 2000 that I want to use with my Imac

I have a great set of Boston Digital speakers with a subwoofer that I purchased with a Gateway 2000 computer back in the day... the speakers are still in great shape and produce amazing sound.
Is there a way that I can use these speakers with my new Imac? Do I have to install a driver of some sort? Or could I just run down to radioshack and buy some sort of adapter?
I did some research already and they said that I needed to change my audio output to digital but I believe they were speaking about a Windows OS.
I appreciate it if someone else has run into this and can share some ideas.

Your BA 7500G sounds a lot like my "Digital BA735" 2.1 speakers that I purchased around '99 with my Gateway.  I just purchased a new iMac a few weeks ago and thought I'd dig out my old speakers that still sound great.  For about $20 you can purchase a converter, plug and cable from monoprice.com.  Another guy had my same BA 735s and got them to work on his iMac with these same connections.  The iMac headphone port is a special headphone/digital Toslink mini combination output.  Therefore, you'll need the optical Toslink to coaxial (RCA) Digital Audio converter.  If you haven't already gotten them to work, then soon you'll be enjoying those great sounding speakers again!
Monoprice.com (4 digit number is their product ID):
(2948) Optical Toslink to Coaxial (RCA) Digital Audio Converter.  This is a powered unit, converting optical to a coax digital signal.
(7240) RCA Plug to 3.5mm Mono Jack Adaptor - Gold plated.  This attaches to the "Coaxial Out" of the Converter.  After this RCA Plug is connected to the converter, you'll then attach your "green" headphone plug you cite above into the other side of the RCA Plug.
(1556) 3 ft Toslink to Mini M/M 5.0mm OD Molded Cable.  This runs from the iMac's headphone port to the "In Optical" port of the Converter.
