FXS/Analog phone auto-dial when picked up?
Hello. UC540 862. I have a door intercom i have patched into the phone system via FXS port (will not use FXO). When the button is pressed on the door intercom, you get a dial tone over the speaker and the FXS port is open. Is there a method to have it auto-dial an extension? I've setup lobby phones that intercom a specific phone internally, but in this case, i need it to autodial a main hunt group- ext 101, which blasts 4 people. Unfortunately the door unit does not have a dial-pad.

didn't work but again - fxs port as it's not compatible with fxo port .. (below readout).. trying connection plar 101.. maybe that'll work

FXS analog phone can't break dial tone when pressing some number keys.
Hi All,
May I know how to break the dial tone when pressing any keys? I've tried to set the input gain to 0 dB, -1dB, -4dB and 4dB but same results.
Voice-port also configured in "timeouts interdigit 3". In other sites, same configured but it is working.
Is it defective or need to be configured?

I phone auto starts when i plug into usb in car
the I phone music starts playing when i just plug the phone into the USB port in the car. How do i stop that. is it a car software issue or an iphone issue?

It sounds like your phone just starts playing music automatically every single time you connect it to the USB port in your vehicle. We should be able to troubleshoot the software on the phone to help you isolate it to the phone or the vehicle. Start by quitting the running apps on your phone with this article:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

Wow, it's been a while since I've been here. Had to create a whole new ID.
Anyway, I got a new iMac G5 last week and phone support helped me figure out how to transfer files from my old Bondi RevB, OS/9.2.2---which is the one I'm having the current problem with.
Problem is now everytime I turn the Bondi back on it automatically dials up the internet. ie., I started it up this morning and didn't come back to the computer for about two hours and all that time it was dialed up and I didn't realize it.
Went to Control Panels>Remote Access>Options>Protocol and un-checked "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications." That stopped it from dialing up when starting the computer, but it also stopped it from dialing (automatically) when launching Internet Explorer.
Bottom line...how can I make it so that it does not dial-up when turning the computer on, BUT will auto dial when launching IE.

Yes indeed, there was an HD alias in there. Thank you so much for the info. I've already trashed it. I'll let you know later whether or not that does the job---I really don't know what else I haven't investigated that could be the culprit. If this does solve the problem, do you know whether I will have to delete the alias each time after I file share?...or do I just have to wait and see?
I have a bit of surfing and work to do, so I don't want to log off and try it now, but I will definitely post back later tonight or tomorrow and let you (all) know.

MWI on analog phone using stutter dial on VG248
Someone is telling me that you can use stutter dial or some other method to light up an anolog phone Message waiting indicator using on a VG248. This is with an analog phone that has an Message light on it. Is this possible and if so is it possible using and ATA with Call Manager?

This does work with the VG248, we have used the "Stutter Dial Tone" on some analog phones and used the actual MWI Lamp on other analog phones with good success. Have a look;
Choosing Message Waiting Indicator Type
The VG248 supports several types of methods for sending MWI messages to analog phones. Because you might have different types of analog phones connected to the VG248, you can modify the MWI type on a per-port basis. So, if you have some analog phones that have MWI lamps on them, you can notify users of awaiting messages using the lamp. Or, you can choose to play a tone when users pick up their phones.
Keep in mind that the VG248 only sends this information to the phones if it is received from Cisco CallManager. If Cisco CallManager is not integrated with your voice mail system, it does not send this information to the VG248.
Step 1 From the main menu, choose Configure.
Step 2 Choose Telephony.
Step 3 Choose Port specific parameters.
Step 4 Use the arrow keys to select the port to configure and press Enter.
Step 5 Choose MWI type.
Step 6 Choose from the following options:
Lampilluminates lamp on phone
Caller IDuses caller ID mechanism to send MWI messages to the LCD screen on phone
Stutterplays tones when user picks up the phone
Lamp + stutterilluminates lamp and plays tone
Caller ID + stuttersends message to LCD screen and plays tone
Nonedoes not send MWI information

Pick up group between analog Phone connected on VG224 with Cisco 7911 does not work?

I had a problem, during a demo. My team was design a cisco callmanager 7.0 with 7911 IP Phone and with VG224 analog devices phones. I would like to know if there are some a problem of capability when configured a Analog Phone on VG224 in the same pickup group with Cisco IP Phone 7911.
I got pickup between Analog phones but with I cannot pick up, between IP Phones and analog phones.
Does anybody knows if has capability problem or could be a configuration problem.
The feature has already enbled for pick up **3 (stcapp feature access-code).

Analog door phone to dial phones configuration
I have a remote office that I'm trying to setup CME. Everything works for now except one thing. There is a analog phone installed on outside of front door for visitors, deliveries, etc. Trying to setup this phone to ring automatically reception desk and also enable for others to answer the line from their phone when there is no one available in the reception area. I was thinking of connecting this door phone to one of the FXS ports on the router and configure PLAR to ring reception desk phone. Any suggestion? how do I setup other phones to be able to answer/pick up when no one at the reception desk? Pickup group? Thanks.

can turn my phone on only when plugged into the power. everything is still accessable on the when when this is done. but it cant pick up a signal its just serching.
a message says i need to connect to apple/support but i can plug into the computer as its not getting any power and i cant turn on.
I need pictures and stuff baked up on it as i dont want to loose them.
I think the battery/aerial in stuffed as it go some water on it.

I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

1. I want to find out why my phone stops ringing when I pick it up to answer it?
2. How can I get it ring for longer as it rings for such a short time?

1- I'm not sure why this is happening but reloading your OS using BlackBerry Desktop Software should correct this. To reload your OS, plug your phone in to BDS on your PC and click Device at the top of BDS then click Backup. Once you've done a backup, click Device once again but this time click Restore and choose the file you just created and load it. If you had a touchscreen, I'd suggest that you're probably touching the screen which would cancel the ringtone but because your phone is not a touchscreen, this wouldn't apply.
2- Call MTN for help with this issue. It's your carrier that controls for how long your phone rings and they can set it to go as long as 30 seconds if you request it.

Auto-Dial from SIP phones after Interdigit Timeout
I have a customer that needs to have their phones automatically dial a particular number if no digits are pressed after 10-15 seconds. We are accomplishing this right now with our SCCP phones by having a blank translation pattern that points to an ambiguous hunt pilot.
For example, we create a blank translation pattern that translates to a HP with number 300. We also create a HP with number 3000. The translation pattern is triggered, but because 300 is ambiguous (the call could possibly be destined for 300 or 3000) CUCM waits for the interdigit timeout before calling 300.
This works beautifully for SCCP phones. Unfortunately, it does not work for our SIP phones. Does anyone have any suggestions to make this work? SIP dial rules trigger immediately, so I'm afraid we haven't been able to leverage those.

Chris, you are correct that you can get a SIP phone to auto-dial a number via SIP dial rules. The problem is that it triggers immediately. I need the SIP phones to wait.
Here's a scenario - SCCP phones are in use all throughout a nursing home. Residents are told that they can simply knock their phone offhook if they need emergency help. If they don't dial anything within 15 seconds, their phone will automatically call into the local emergency oncall nurse. Sorta an "onstar" emergency help line for an old folks home. We definitely can't have that rule triggering immediately though, as residents would never be able to place a normal call, and there would be no way of distinguishing the emergency calls from the guy who is just trying to call for pizza. :)
This function works perfectly with SCCP phones - while they trigger the blank translation pattern immediately, CUCM doesn't actually begin dialing because there are multiple potential matches for what the translation pattern is dialing. SIP phones do not do this, however. If you have the SIP dial rule applied, it always triggers immediately, and it does not wait to see if callers give any input.

How do I change which phone number from a contact will be dialed when I push a favorite button in phone? For example if a favorite dials a contact's office number and I want their cell to be called instead.

I was simply going to write that you were incorrect and there are no plus signs either, but I was certian you knew what was supposed to happen, and that I wasn't going soft either. So after staring at it for a while it just came to me: the file was full! I deleted just one favorite and both the plus and the Add to Favorites button appeared where you described.

The proximity sensor might have failed on your phone. That's what forces the phone to dim the screen when you bring it up to your face.

Can't transfer to an analog phone on FXS port (CME2811)
I have six IP phones with locals 501 to 506. Additionally, I have four analog phones (locals 541 to 544) connected to a VIC2-4FXS card on a 2811 with CME and CUE module.
All phones can call each other. But if say, a user on an IP phone calls a 2nd user on another IP phone, the 2nd user cannot transfer to the 54x locals. She hears a busy or reorder tone (still need to verify which) after keying in the 2nd digit (ie. 54 then "busy" tone)
Am I missing something?Under telephony-service configuration enter the transfer-pattern command. For example:
router(config)#telephony-service
router(config)#transfer-pattern 5..
If no transfer pattern is set, transfers are only permitted to other IP phones.
