G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Hi Everyone,
When I was a young boy me and my brothers would rush to get home from school every day to watch cartoons, and one of our very favorites was G.I. Joe. After I got a little older I began collecting comic books, and due to my love of this cartoon I started collecting G.I. Joe comics (although my favorites were classics like X-Men and The Fantastic Four). I actually still have all my G.I. Joe comics, and I am planning on passing them onto my nephews in the hopes that they can bring them the same enjoyment they did for me.
When I heard they were making a live action movie about G.I. Joe I have to admit to being a little apprehensive. Although there have been some wonderful adaptations of comic series like the first and second X-Men and Iron Man, there have also been some really terrible adaptations like both Hulk movies and the Fantastic Four movies. This Movie does look like it has the potential to be a successful adaptation, and being that this comic was far less removed from reality than most it should have an easier transition to the big screen than other comic series. Either way for nostalgic sake I will be going to see the movie this weekend, and I will be hoping to enjoy it as much as I did the comic and the cartoon. For now this is all I know about this movie......and remember knowing is half the battle!

I totally want to see this...mainly because Channing Tatum is hot.
Can I say "hot" here?

  • Pxie-6556 - How to control the rise time in the digital lines (hsdio)

    Hi,
Is there any way to control the rise time in the PXIe-6556 digital lines?
Even in a low frequency signal 10kHz the rise time is about 2ns.
    Tks,
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello engfpe,
The PXIe-6556 is a 50 Ohm system, meaning the output is source series terminated to be 50 Ohms and all our cables and accessories are 50 Ohms.  With this setup regardless of the data rate you should have a clean rising or falling edge regardless of the data rate. The quality of the output (rising or falling edge) at your device will be related to the impedance matching of your cables.
The PXIe-6556 cannot adjust the slew rate by itself.  However you can insert some simple passive components to do this for you.  I've attached below to images.  The first is a schematic showing one way of slowing down the edge.  The second is the a simulated waveform showing the original edge rate before slowing it down, and the slowed down edge.   This simulation is not of the PXIe-6556 but instead a generic digital output for concept.  In the schematic R1 is set to 34 Ohms because U1.8 has the additional 16 Ohms inside it.  TL1 is the 50 Ohm output simulating the cable on the PXIe-6556.  R2, R3 and C1 are components you could insert after the PXIe-6556 cable before it goes to your device/cables.  In this setup the cable going to your device is TL2 which is also 50 Ohms but it could be another impedance in which case you would change R3 to match.
You can see in the attached images you can significantly slow down the edge with this setup by altering C1.  I hope this helps,

  • Why can't I donwload Tin Tin movie trailer? Or The Rise of the Apes trailer?

Why is it that when I go into iTunes store to Theatrical Trailers and click on new Tin Tin trailer the store always comes up with "cannot complete your request....the store may be busy"? Same thing on the Rise of the Planet of the Apes, that one hasn't worked since it was posted on April 14.

I've experienced the same thing going back to December 2010 or earlier and have many notes on what trailer links are broken.  I've reported this to Apple Care iTunes Division and they don't seem to know what's going on.
One tech, in a moment of candor, agreed that the link wasn't working for him either and that he would report it.  Checking back to that link since, it's never been repaired (Tree of Life).  The different people I've communicated with have reported it "upstairs", but still it keeps happening, and oddly, it's a frequent problem with high profile releases like Tin Tin or Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Even worse news?  The WHOLE theatrical trailers link is now gone from iTunes (unless it's moved somewhere and I can't find it).  It's definitely not where it was Monday when I last used it.
So I'd guess that the whole section has problems and they've hidden it until a solution is figured out.  I really hope that it will reappear because it's my understanding that Apple Trailers have been a big success for promoting Quicktime and the Apple Brand in general.  From the industry standpoint, I've read outside accounts that the industry greatly values Apple's free offering in this area and the obvious publicity the movies receive.   I just hope Apple or the Studios won't start charging for them!

as stated the minijack connection is output only apart from the 3th ring
the 3th ring part of minijack is not a std and every manufactor handle it differently
you will have to make a custom cable using the connector of a apple headset
and solder the middle mic ring to something which provide a signal on the same power level
    as the headsets mic

  • Kernel Panics on the rise

I have a Macbook Pro thats about 3.5 years old currently running Lion. Just recently over the past few weeks, I have been having a lot of Kernel Panics. They come only when I awake the computer from sleep. I haven't been doing anything differently in terms of hours of use or CPU heavy applications. Any ideas or expierence with this would be helpful as I fear that soon this computer isn't going to wake up from another one of these.

A few years ago I bought GI Joe The Rise of Cobra on Itunes (not rented, bought).  Now, after not watching it for at least a year, when I try to play it all I get is a black screen.  How can I fix this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    hi all
just purchased my 1st gaming laptop gt680, games wise it's awesome......but for some reason corel windvd doesn't play certain bluray's, could someone point me in the right direction,
tried 'updating' windvd with no success (get a msg saying 'product up to date')
    Corel windvd version 10.0.5.733
    Gt680 model 057au
    Bluray player hitachi hts7250050a9a364
    Bluray's that ARE playable are
    District 9
    The chronicles of riddick
    Swordfish
    Clash of the titans
    The Italian job
GI Joe the rise of cobra
    Transformers
    Transformers revenge of the fallen
    Hitchikers guide to the galaxy
    The island
    Kick ass
so i guess shouldn't complain too much BUT would be happier knowing whatever bluray i purchase it'll be able to play, also went to corel website downloaded various 'patches' and still nothing.
Problem with prince of Persia, loads up no probs, get to the language screen, I click on english then nothing black screen
    Avatar nothing
Please note that they are full purchased bluray disks that have purchased from stores

Try playing them with a different media player, as it could be Corel WinDVD causing the issue.
Hmm I would..... But have no idea which to choose, I use Corel WinDVD because that's what came with the laptop.
Maybe a suggestion of a worthy player?

  • Memory riser question

I have another 2GB (2 x 1GB) ready to install in my Pro when it arrives. I know that I should keep the 1GB (2 x 512) on one of the riser cards and put the additional memory on the other riser card. I’ve also seen it stated that the larger memory should be on riser card one and the smaller memory on riser card two. The question is can I pull out both riser cards, slide the one with the pair of 512MB modules into the number two position, add my new memory to the other card, and then slide that into the number one position, or do I need to pull the two 512MB sticks off the riser card its on and move it to the other card. Or more simply put can the position of the cards be swapped or do they need to be in their original positions.
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Basically, for best performance you need to have Slots 1/2 on both Risers filled. From then, performance is best when you have RAM totals that are even (or 1GB difference) between them. So if you have 1GB RAM on Riser A you should have 1 or 2GB on Riser B.
There is NO difference between the Risers. They are both the same and should be treated as such.

Im looking at adding some more RAM to the machine and am wondering if the person I bought this from even has the ram installed correctly.
When I opened it up, the 2x2GB sticks were both in the first two slots in the bottom memory tray. Luckily I had some RAM I planned on putting in it right when I got it out of the box (and then found out my 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM doesnt work with it hehehe), which required me to go look it up online before I even plugged the thing in, so I moved the tray with the RAM in it to the upper slot like the article I read said it was supposed to be..
Now I just read the Apple support doc that pops up when you click the Upgrade Memory link in the Memory tab in System Profiler and am confused even more..
Am I supposed to have both of those FB-DIMMs on the upper tray or do I need to move one of them to first slot of the lower tray??
Also, I noticed in the installation pictures, the top tray is pictured as being installed upside down, so the RAM in both trays is right above/below one another, but both of mine are right side up..
My Mac looks like everythings fine, system profiler shows me both DIMMs in tray A and isnt complaining... Gave Logic Pro a nice run the other night and havent really run into any problems or a KP yet.. Been reinstalling my recording software like crazy and no problems yet either..
Just wanted to make sure how its really supposed to be installed in case I could possibly end up frying something down the line..

See even the first two links posted have conflicting information.. According to OWC, I should have one 2GB stick on each riser, but that second link with the memory configuration pictures, the last config for the 4GB shows both 2GB sticks on riser A (thats actually the doc I was referring to earlier that I looked at when I first got the Mac) so I figured I was ok.. None of those options show one stick on each riser..
And again in regards to the way the riser is installed.. Apples own memory upgrade doc does indeed show the top riser installed upside down so the heat sinks are facing each other.. But every actual picture Ive seen, and OWC's own installation video shows them both installed right side up.. Now that I think about it after watching the OWC video, the riser cards are keyed, so I dont see how it would fit upside down in the first place..
I dont know I guess Ill just leave it like it is. I should be getting a pair of 2GB DIMMs hopefully in another week or so when money permits so Ill have both risers in use anyways..
Maybe mine is a later 2007 version of the 1,1 or something and there was a revision done??? Wish you could tell the actual date by serial number instead of just the timeframe the model was in existence hehehe.

  • Can i use the retention policy without using the Flash Recovery area?

    Yes ,lets see here

Hmmm, I can't see where the confusion originates. The table near the bottom of www.apple.com/timecapsule/specs.html has one row labelled "For backup using Time Machine" and another row labelled "For AirPort Disk with a USB hard drive".
The requirement for backup via Time Machine is OS 10.5.1 or better. Time Machine is not supported in pre-Leopard (OS 10.5) nor in Windows.
The requirement for using Time Capsule as a remote disk is identified as "Mac with Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later" or "PC with Windows XP (SP2) or Windows Vista; Bonjour for Windows (included on Time Capsule CD)".
Doesn't that pretty much spell out that Time Capsule works as a network drive without the need for Time Machine?
Also Joe (the OP) never indicated any desire to use it with Windows so I'm not sure why all the discussion about Windows compatibility. ??
Also the quote posted by Henry seems pretty clear:
"Time Capsule with Time Machine in Leopard is the ideal backup solution. But that doesn’t mean Tiger, Windows XP, and Windows Vista users can’t enjoy the benefits of Time Capsule, too. Because it mounts as a wireless hard drive, Tiger and Windows users simply access Time Capsule directly from the wireless network for exchanging and storing files quickly and easily."

  • After Upgrading to IOS 5.1 I am having issues connecting to the WIFI

After updating to IOS 5.1 i am having ptoblems connectng to the WIFI.
If I reboot my wireless route it will connect
Without the reboot it will just set and search.
My wife's phone is running 4.2.1 and connects everytime.
Can I back out of the upgrade easily until the problem is fixed? My Data plan minutes are on the rise.....

I have upgraded the router to the latest rev.. Still does not work... My computer connects fine and my wifes phone connects fine
