G/L account 513915 cannot be created as a cost element

Hi,
I have a PRD issue. The month end jobs are running. There are 6 jobs which runs one by one as dependents. 4th job failed due to G/L account 513915/513916/513990 cannot be created as cost elements. Because of this next jobs are not triggered.
Please advise ASAP.
I would appreciate your response and reward points.

Madan

Hi
The GL account was created as cost element with Cost element category 1 very long back i.e. in 2001 and assigned to cost center also.
Previously the month end jobs were running without fail, but today it failed and showing the log as above for these 3 GL accounts.
I've checked through KA01, KA02 and OKB9, seems everything is fine.
I donot understand why this error is occuring.
Please advise.

  • G/L account 59500140 cannot be created as a cost element

    Hi Viewers,
When I try to do the KO88 Process order settlement i am getting the below error:
G/L account 59500140 cannot be created as a cost element
    Message no. KQ119
    Diagnosis
When maintaining the posting rules for passing on results analysis data to Financial Accounting, you entered a G/L account that is defined as a primary cost element in cost and revenue element accounting. This is not allowed. You must enter a G/L account in the posting rules that is not defined as a cost element.
    System Response
    The entry invalid.
    Procedure
    You have the following options:
Enter a G/L account for which no cost element is specified in Cost and Revenue Element Accounting.
You can change the message type with user-defined error management (transaction OPR4_KKA). What should be observed when you enter a G/L account in a posting rule that is defined as a primary cost element in Cost and Revenue Element Accounting? You need to define a CO account assignment so that the posting defined in the posting rule can be executed. You do this with transaction OKB9 (default account assignment) or OKC9 (substitution), or using the default account assignment in the cost element master.
I would like to know the GL Account 59500140  is a P&L Account. Is it correct?.
Please help me to overcome from this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Aswin

Execute transaction code FSP0 and check whether the account is a P&L or a Balance Sheet.  Nevertheless, you can only enter accounts that are not created as cost elements in customizing transaction OKG8.  If you enter an account that is also a cost element, then you need to configure default CO account assignment using OKB9 or a substitution using OKC9.  Please refer to the following SAP Notes.

  • PROBLEM IN SETTLEMENT CO88 - G/L  7000203 cannot be created as a co element

    Dear friends,
I am facing with an error. Kindly suggest the way how to come up with the issue.
My Client due to some reason passed an JV in the month of december in PRD.
Now after this all the settlement for the next periods are in error. The following is the error while executing CO88.
G/L account 7000203 cannot be created as a cost element

I even tried to create make default the COST CENTER in OKB9 for that cost element as stated in the message itself but still the problem exist. I got another suggestion. Firstly i will transfer the values in new GL a/c, and make the necessary config changes in OKG8 with the new GL a/c.
can somebody guide me whether i am on the right way or is there any work around possible.
    regards,
    sandeep jain

    Hi Sandeep,
In Transaction OKG8 the GL account for P&L(7000203) should not be a cost element. I dont know how it was allowing you all this while.
Try assigning another P&L account without a cost element.
Keep us posted on the progress please.
    Thanks

  • Needed to create a new cost element hierarchy to come in line

needed to create a new cost element hierarchy to come in line with Victory reporting.  I went into create new group and referenced NETEXPS2.RD so that I could then edit it.
I made all the changes required for the new hierarchy NETEXPS3.RD.  Unfortunately some of the changes I made have changed NETEXPS2.RD.
Is this my fault for referencing?  Is there any way of going back to the original NETEXPS2.RD version and fixing it?
    Please suggest for the above.
    Regards
    Srinivas.

In addition to Krishna if you don't want to expose all the package to the trainee, then create a new role keeping everything same as default MODELING role (open it and have a look) but in "PACKAGE PRIVILEGES" add only those package that you want to expose to the end users.

    hi
In Cost Elements (Data is Dependent on Controlling Area), please go to extras and check your controlling area while creating the cost element, and make sure if u r creating Primary CE, it has been created as a G/L account and also make sure you use correct CE Category.
    Thanks
    plz award points if helpful.

  • GL account wrongly maintained as cost element

    Hi,
One GL account which would allow to post WIP value is wrongly assigned as Cost Element and during settlement through KO88 vlaue is not being allowed to post due to cost element gl "G/L account 711005 cannot be created as a cost element". Even after removing cost element category from table CSKB it is still not allow to post. There is no balance exist in GL account and debit and credit figure is equal.  This GL account is very vital and we have to post this GL account through settlement without assigining new gl account against this WIP.
    Kindly need any suggestion..
    Best Regards,
    Samrat Roy

    Hi Samrat,
As per my understanding you would like to delete the cost element for the WIP GL Account. and you said that the debits and credits for this GL Account are same. If there is atransaction data exists, you could not able to delete the cost element.
for this first you should delete the transaction data. i.e., need to delete the all the CO documents for that cost element. for this there is a program to delete the CO documents i.e., RKACOR20. once you delete the CO documents, then you can able to delete the cost element for the specified GL Account. then you can run the WIP without interruption.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Consumption accounts not created as cost elements - Implications

    Hi
There are following GL accounts as an Expense GL accounts:
    Cost of Raw Material Consumption
    Cost of Finished Goods Manufactured
    Cost of Finished Goods Sold
    Change in Stock WIP.
I have not created them as cost elements since its asking me cost center when i do any PGI or issue to sub contract stock, etc.
So i wanted to know the implications on CO-PA if i do not create cost element. I believe that value will flow to CO-PA on the basis of material code.
Further my doubt is, if i do not create it as cost element, how it will impact my cost center reports and product costing.
Please help. I am confused very much.

  • Creating Cost Elements for OBYC Accounts

    Hi
We are implementing COPA and we have manufacturing scenario (MTS) also. Now i have created cost elements (with category as 1). Now its giving me error for CO object when i post any SD entry (at the time of PGI and releasing billing document to accounting) or MM entry (MIGO / MIRO). So please help me cost elements needs to be created for following accounts:
    Price difference A/c
    Rounding off A/c
    Small difference A/c
If i do not create it as cost element, will it effect my COPA / Product costing / Cost center planning.
    Please help

We are implementing COPA and we have manufacturing scenario (MTS) also. Now i have created cost elements (with category as 1). Now its giving me error for CO object when i post any SD entry (at the time of PGI and releasing billing document to accounting) or MM entry (MIGO / MIRO). So please help me cost elements needs to be created for following accounts:
    Price difference A/c
    Rounding off A/c
    Small difference A/c
If i do not create it as cost element, will it effect my COPA / Product costing / Cost center planning.
When your postings hit CO (COPA) from Billing the system is expecting the Real CO Object (e.g. Cost Centre, Internal Order, WBS, Profitabilit Segment etc) to be Profitability Segment.
The RWIN interface (program group that posts to FICO - includes COPA) is checking and finding that there are Cost Elements created for the 'account determination' (accounts determined in Billing) that have a Cost Element category of 1 and I assume that you have determined these postings should go to COPA. Thus the error.
For CE Cat 1 (Primary costs/cost-reducing revenues) the system expects a Cost Object that is not a Profitability Segment.
The solution is to not create them or to use CE Cat 11 or 12 which allows Prof Segment.
Take into account the fact that if you are using the Reconciliation Ledger then CE Cat 11 or 12 should be used (i.e. adding the REAL (not statistical) postings in COPA + Cost Centre Accounting + WBS + Internal Orders = FI P&L).
Please test the use of CE Cat 11 or 12. The problem is that if you have already posted to the old CE's you will need to create new ones as you can't change CE cat once posted to.
The Business Analyst Question would be: Where does the Business want to see the REAL postings of Price Difference, Rounding Off and Small Difference? In COPA (then see above explanation - I would assume the Business want it here) or in Cost Centres (adjust your config and use CE cat 1).
    Hope this helps.

  • COGS accounts as cost elements

    Hi All,
       Please help me with this.
1.We have set up COGS accounts. Should we set them as Cost Elements? If yes , then should we use cost element category "1- Primary Costs" or "12 Sales Deduction" ?  Right now we dont have COPA , we are planning to implement in future . One more thing, if we don't set up them as Cost elements now and would like to set up as cost elements in future (After COPA goes live) - can we do that?
    2. Regarding Revenue accounts , we don't have SD or COPA now (but will implement in future)- Should we set up revenue accounts as "11 - Revenues"  in FS00. Please help me ,
    Thank you,
    Sri

    Hi,
    1. If your client specifies that he needs the data to be transfered to Controlling, then COGS has to be created as a cost element with category-1.
If your client does not want any data related to COGS in Controlling then no need to create it as a cost element.
If you are implementing COPA in your organisation in future, without creating COGS as cost element also we can get the data in COPA reports, basing on condition type.
Data flow from SD to COPA is through Condition types in Costing based Profitability analysis.
In KE4I we assign condition types to COPA value fields, Basing on that profitability document will get created.
To bring the COGS amount to COPA,
Assign VPRS condition type to relevant value field.
If your problem will get solved with this answer, kindly award me marks
    Thanks,
    Deepa

  • From which table check 'cost element' and its corresponding GL account?

    Hi,
May i know from which could i check the cost element field and its corresponding GL account field??
    Questions:
"the getting cost element should check the corresponding GL account, but I canu2019t find the
corresponding table which include these two fields. So, if you know the table in which cost element can check the corresponding GL account, please tell me ."
    Is below way correct:
From table CSKA, i could get the chart of accounts related with the cost elements.
Then from table SKA1, i could get the GL account according to chart of accounts field.
Then i got an relation between Cost element with GL account??
    Thanks!!

    Hi
Could not locate the table, but could find that, if you come to transaction KA02, click on Environment - Display General Ledger account - In Chart of Account/ In Company Code option, then you can display the GL account for individual cost elements.

  • Link between Cost element GL Account and WBS element.

    Hi,
I want to get the List of all dollars sitting on the GL account  attached to the selected WBS element.
For this, Any one please suggest me the table where i can get the link between the WBS element and GL account.
    or
Table for link between the Cost element and GL account
and Table for link between the Cost element and WBS element.
    Thanks,
    Suresh.

    Hi,
    1. There is no link between cost element and WBS
    2. Link between cost element and G/L account is one-to-one. This means, that if it's a primary cost element it has the same code as the G/L account. If it's a secondary element, no link exists.
    3. The table where you can see the postings on your WBS is COEP. There you will find the cost element, WBS, amounts, etc.
