G-mail and My iPhone
So i'll admit that i'm not the most tech-savvy person out there. That being said i have no idea where to begin with solving this problem.
I've had my G-mail synced up with my mail account on my iMac since i first bought it over a year ago, and since i bought the iPhone in Jan of this year it has been synced with that flawlessly.
Now, however, i havent been receiving any emails on my phone for about 5 days now.
Never had any problem like this before and don't know how to fix it. I have tried restoring my phone, reseting my phone (hold the home and power buttons) and even deleting my mail account from my phone and re-syncing with my iMac again. All of this has resulted in nothing. If anyone can PLEASE help i would be sooooooo grateful.
I have my gmail set up on my iphone also and have never had an issue. I don't use the mail app on my macbook though. I check my gmail through the web.
The only thing I can think is that you have it set up to forward the mail from the gmail server to the mail app on your imac and it doesn't "leave a copy on the server". So if your iphone syncs with the gmail server after the mail is forwarded, then there would be nothing on the server for the iphone to retrieve.
edited to add** Check the pop section in your gmail account settings and make sure you have "keep gmail's copy in the inbox" selected.
I hope that makes sense. I am not an expert either, but just a thought. :o)

I discovered the MessageUI framework today; I didn't even know it existed before. I realize that I need it to send messages...I'm looking at the MailComposer sample code. I'm just curious as to what the above code would trigger? I'm not yet in the paid program, so I can't test on device...anyone care to tell me?
Will there be an similar interface for in-app SMS in OS 4.0, or will it handle URL strings automatically, like with phone calls (I think)? If it's under NDA, then feel free to tell me—I'll just remain ignorant until I get into the program or it's released to the public.

Why am I seeing dupe Notes in Mail and on iPhone?
I occasionally see NOTES duplicated on my iphone, and of course in Mail too, since they Sync. I'll edt a NOTE and second one with the same title is created, rather than updating the first one. Since the NOTES are imapped from iPhone to Mail, I see the duplicates in both places.
Its a huge problem for me. I have ten gigantic lists I manage all day long - many pages long. When a dupe is accidentally created there's no easy way to compare between the two versions. Big trouble.
Mobileme accounts have been removed--everywhere I could find them.Well, they're backups... how are you supposed to recover something you accidentally deleted from the phone if they are removed from the backups at the same time?

I have a google apps mail account in the form [email protected] I have successfully set up both my mac (A1342) Mail and my iPhone (5c) mail so I get my account on both devices. However, when I read an email on my iphone, it remains unread on my mac (and vice versa). But if I read an email on either, the copy in my Gmail inbox on the web is correctly changed to read. How do I set up my mac Mail and iOS mail so they interact with eachother?
I am running OSX 10.9 and iOS 7.Set the account (on the Mac) as an Imap account, it seems as though it is currently set as POP.

Ok Apple users...Is there a way to delete e-mails on my Mac and not have to delete the same e-mails on my iPhone, and iPad...and vise-versa. I have the Cloud, and thought that everything would sync all of the time. If you know of a setting I need to adjust, please let me know.
Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails. -
I just recently got an ipad Air and some odd things are happening. I use Entourage on my iMac OS 10.6.8, and my iphone and ipad are getting emails into the junk folder and the email doesn't show up anywhere on my iMac. You can't label an email "not junk" on the iphone or ipad, so what do I do? So frustrated.

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

Syncing your device with itunes will then enable you to remove whatever photos you wish to remove from your device deleting them with the computer and not the iphone. -
I had over 200 e-mails. I went to my webmail and deleted most of them. However, my iPhone still shows 200 e-mails. How can I force my iPhone to update from the e-mail server? Or will I have to delete each e-mail from my iPhone as well? Thanks.
You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I have recently purchased the iphone 5S and have two AOL email accounts set up on it. They could both receive and send mail on the first day, but from the second day only 1 can send mail (both still receive). I get an message saying "Unable to send mail. A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed." This has been the response now for 3 days and suddenly this morning, I was able to send an email from this account, but only the one and now it's back to that same message. I have deleted and added the account again, using various methods. I even reset my phone and set it all up again from beginning with no luck. It is very frustrating and I am unsure why I can't send from both accounts, especially being that they are the same provider. I have read forums and it appears many have this same problem and I wondered if anyone has had it recently on this phone and how they fixed it. Someone said just use the AOL app to send from this account, yes that can be done, but it's inconvenient having to sign in all the time when i have a mail app that should work automatically. Any suggestions would be welcomed!!
I am not sure if this issue is going to help you but lets give it a try.
I know that where im from, which is the Netherlands, I am not able to sent e-mails from my iPhone or any other mobile device by using 3G or a random WIFI acces point. The provider only allowes you to sent e-mails when you are connected to a network of there own. Which means if you have provider "101" and your email settings are set up for this provider in your iPhone but your using the network of a friend of yours which is provider "202" you cannot sent emails from his network. Though you can receive them you may not sent.
As I said, I am not aware if this issue is the same for you totaly depents on the country and provider your using. -
Is there a way (or a setting) for my individual folders in Mail to automatically update across all devices? For example, if I transfer an email to a folder for follow-up on my PC - say 10th of the following month - the same folder in Mail on my iPhone doesn't update until I actually go into the folder and update manually. Interestingly though, if I create a new folder on any of my devices they automatically appear on the other devices so it is just the actual contents that I am referring to here. Appreciate any help or guidance.

JustinYou can turn mail off in the settings but then you can't use it for anything, including the "test" that you want to perform.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Account Name>Mail>Off. That totally turns off the mail account.
As long as mail is turned on and you launch the app, it will look for an download new mail. -
How do I remove "other users" folder in mail and on my iPhone
On one account only I have "other users" folder that lists all of the folders of every user on the server. On my iphone I have to scroll past pages of other user folders to get to any folder named with anything after "O"
Does anyone know how to get the server to stop showing "other users" in both mail and iphone mail?Unfortunately that is really the only work around since
Comcast uses POP3 and not IMAP like Gmail or
iCloud.

were beta testing IMAP with select customers but I doubt
if it has gone much further than that. -
I am trying to maintain my inbox on my imac while not carrying around all my mail on my iphone. As of now, I only seem to be able to sync the inboxes. If I delete a mail on my iphone, it disappears on both the server and imac. I only seem to be able to make it move the mail to the deleted mail box and keep it there.
That's the way IMAP servers work. The messages really live on the server; the iPhone and the iMac just view them.

I NEED to use icloud mail on both iPhone 4s AND my PC. I need to use both.
Trying to use icloud mail on PC is mega glitchy (STOP SCRIPT WARNINGS EVERY FEW MINUTES) and frustrating because:
1. my PC is ancient (but nicely refurbished/fast)
2. I run XP (with both Firefox and Chrome- newest versions)
3. thusly, I DO NOT MEET SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS for iCloud.
In my passed attempts I found that
1. Yahoo doesn't work well on iPhone
2. Gmail doesnt work well on iPhone.
I must be missing something... an app or... maybe a donated/ NEW FREE MAC! (That would be sweet! Ha.)
Is there an email platform that will run well on both XP and iPhone?

Is this iCloud apple tech only for wealthy middle class and above who can afford to have the newest and best of everything?@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

I'm not sure I understand your question really, but one thing for sure is that you need Lion for iCloud to work.

I've lost access to my e-mail and my apple ID. No way to reset them. It's a hotmail email address and Microsoft is refusing to reset it even after I provided all the necessary proof of ownership.
2 problems:
I can't switch to a new apple id and loose all my purchased apps
I can't switch to a new apple id as I'm being asked for the password of my current apple id - to disable the 'find my iPhone'-feature
How do I proceed as my device is virtually unusable as is ..
