G only access after upgrading to WRVS440N wireless router

I am using a WUSB54GP wireless adapter.
I was using a WRT54S wireless router.
Both worked great together.
Now that I upgraded to a WRVS440N router, I have to set it to G-only in the
Wireless
Basic Wireless Settings page
in order to connect.
Using the B/G/N mixed settings does not allow me to connect.
FIrmware updated on the WVRS4400N to 1.1.03. No firmware update available for the WUSB54GP.
Reinstalled drivers for Windows XP Pro SP2 using the WUSB54GP.
So far no luck.
Suggestions?

In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall, including Windows Firewall, and see if that helps.
In the router, since the last firmware upgrade, have you reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch? If not, then please do this and see if it corrects your problem. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

BTW. I have seen posts suggesting age of Mac has an affect. Mine is MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
The mail I am having problems send is Exchange and google mail. The google client I re-installed and this had no affect.

I have contacted three more people that made the upgrade and they have the same problem. My advise is not to upgrade until Apple solves the serious issue, I would hate to have to re-install Outlook...

I can send e-mails just fine with apple mail on yosemite...
Might not be a generic problem but rather a personal problem..
You should try find a fix rather than waiting on apple.
Hopefully somebody can help you out.
More than happy to help with your settings/preference pain... And compare mine with yours...
If you send some screenshots... I can send you my equivalent... So maybe you can figure it out.
Is it a gmail or icloud email acount? Can be of more help if it is.

Lost 5 GHz wireless network access after upgrading to Windows 10

Hello, Lost the ability to connect to (and see) my 5GHz wireless network after upgrading Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on my Yoga 2 13. I have tried to update the wireless driver to the latest version. The WiFi card is the original Wireless-N 7260 that was installed when I bought the computer. I know for a fact that I was able to use 5GHz networks Before as I can see my saved networks and I can clearly see that I have my 5GHz network in that list. Please advice, Patrik

Good to see it fixed itself. One setting that can block Windows 10 from seeing the WD My Cloud and other devices/computers on the network is the "network location type". During the upgrade or install to Windows 10 one may not quite understand what they are reading when, or if, asked which kind of network they are connecting to. If they select "no" on that particular screen (example below), Windows 10 will block access to certain local devices possibly including the WD My Cloud. Slow access after upgrade

After upgrade to Firefox 36, extremely slow start up--- the hour glass comes on, then off, then eventually in the left hand corner "New tab" shows up and finally my home page arrives. Previous version of Firefox loaded almost immediately. I have Windows 7 and use Norton.

How can I set up my time capsule when I don't have access to our building's wireless router?

Our apartment includes internet but we do not have access to the router. We only want to use the time capsule to back-up our computer not as a wireless router. We have tried setting it up but the light flashes amber and it cannot set-up.

Cannot by ethernet for the first setup..put the TC in bridge mode and it should work fine.. There are a lot cheaper solutions to do this than a TC though.

Using time capsule model A1409 and trying to use it as only backup. Already have Verizon wireless router. Do not know which cable port to use in back of time capsule. And also it is asking for password. Have tried all of mine and it will not work.

I have a 2TB Timecapsule and really only use it for Time Machine backups. But the Wi-Fi side is used to sync my iPad at times.
Mine is wiredup thus;
Eth cable from iMac to modem (not the WAN port should you have one), then eth cable from modem to T/Cap in the WAN port (bottom port with an O sign above it)
I believe when its connected up you may have to set up a wireless network. Follow the instructions to set up Wi-Fi and Network
and then give it a password. The WiFi icon should appear in the menu bar where you can switch it on or off.
Its been sometime since I set it with the help of Apple Techs so I might be a bit rusty.

I Have comcast cable in my home. It comes into my basement. Recently comcast upgraded our boxes to a wireless router/modem unit. We now have a poor wireless network. I decided to run an ethernet cable up into my kitchen so I can place a time capsule there. Is it as easy as just plugging the ethernet cable into the back of the time capsule or do I have reconfigure everything?

Plug in the Ethernet cord, turn the Time Capsule on, then go Applications/Utilities/Airport Utility and you can configure the wireless there.

I’m on the 12th day now and all I really see is slower upload and download speeds. I’ve done a number of speed tests over the last 10 days (restarted modem and router a few time) and I am now of the firm opinion that overall the speeds are lower than before (certainly not higher) regardless of what I use to test the speed and what time I test at.
Before the upgrade I could max out my download speed at 34 / 36 by loading Itunes and downloading a number of updates and free HD TV progs at the same time, it was the only consistent way of measuring my speed, I used DU meter to measure the speed.
My IP profile before the upgrade was a solid 38.71 down 10 up, after the upgrade and 12 days later it settled at 39.56 down 20 up.
So at 7am (quiet time !) this morning before I went to work I ran all the speed tests one after the other,
Itunes lots of updates and programs only got 15 m down,
BT speed test was 10 down 7.78 up,
BBSpeed max 29.253 down 6.797 up
Speedtest.net 30 down 6.61 up
Now, I do understand that the speeds are fantastic when compared to standard broadband and that some people can only get 2/3 m downloads etc
But I don’t think it’s too unrealistic to expect a £25 / month FTTC service after a much advertised speed upgrade campaign where you have to re contract for 12 / 18 months to get it be more efficient and get at least as good as you were getting before.
Before the usual question is asked “what speed did bt say you would get”, I never did get a email after ordering stating what I would get and the BT upgrade seemed to be crashing regularly. But my point is that overall I’m seeing slower speeds than before the upgrade.
For me upgrading was a pointless exercise, for BT they have a customer locked in for another year.

The 17a profile (increased frequencies) was rolled out back in November time.
Everyone is on them period. All increasing cap does it allows your connection to connect at a higher rate if your line can support it. If you're not hitting 40 then lifting it to 80 isn't going to make a difference.
The same as if you drive a car that can only do 33mph in a 40 zone, by going into a 70mph zone the speed is not going to increase as the limit of the car (your line) is still the same.
No you can't be retrograded back to the 8a profile from the 17a.
If you were seeing a problem because of that you would have noticed it since November, not since the cap was increased. If it's since the cap was increased then it has to be something else associated with the 80/20 order that's causing it.
In my opinion you should be able to ask to go back to 40/10 if your service was more stable on that.

SAP GUI only black after Upgrade

Hi
I upgraded from 7.10 to 7.2. After the upgrade I only get a black sceen where the SAP GUI should be. I can only see some text and when I'm in a text box I just see a red squere representing the input area.
I have tried to uninstall the gui and install it again. But it did not work.
Is there any things that I need to reset?

I have actually seen this on a Windows 7 machine running 7.10 sp16 and 7.20. My initial thoughts were that it was a resource issue not displaying the graphics but the machines I have encountered this on were far from low end. I actually changed the theme from the SAP signature design to Enjoy and the black screen/icons, etc went away. It came back when we reverted to the signature design. My logs look in order and nothing glaring at me that there was an issue. Luckily those affected prefer the previous look over the Signature Design. I have heard of no other issues from those machines with SAP GUI since then. (about a month or more now) I am holding out that perhaps something in the next patch for 7.20 may "fix" this which I intend to check just out of curiousity.

Why can my macbook only access the internet from certain wireless sources?

I have tried connecting to the internet at my friends houses with my macbook but even though I can join the network, the internet itself doesn't work. Is there a reason for this? I've even tried to connect to the internet through a wireless network that my friend was accessing with no problem, from his macbook.

Possible reasons for being unable to connect to a strange network:
- Wrong proxy information
- Wrong network password
- Your friends router has "MAC address filtering" turned on.
You might find you can connect by creating a new location like this:
System Preferences > Network
Select the AirPort from the left hand side
Click on the Locations combo box and select Edit Locations...
Click on + to add a new location, give it a memorable name
Select the AirPort tab and enter your network name
Select TCP/IP tab.
Configure IPv4 Using DHCP
Now click on Renew DHCP Lease. After a few seconds you should get an IP address (probably 192.168.x.x)
Click on Proxies tab.
Select Auto Proxy Discovery and Use Passive FTP
Click on OK and Apply, etc.

You get an update notice for an app that is not installed on your Mac. Is there a stranger's Apple ID also appearing on your Mac related with this update?
If so, you have a pirated app on your Mac. If not, it should be another issue.

Forbidden Access after upgrading to CS6 - HELP!

I have created about 10+ sites all created in CS4. I recently upgraded to CS6 and used the built in DW FTP to upload a page I had changed on one of the sites. This is the way I've always done it in CS4. Now I am getting the following error:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /Pages/Contact_us.html on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
How do I correct this??

Thanks for your response Kenneth. In the Permissions, it does say "644". "Read" and "Write are checked but not "Execute".
I shut my computer down last night and this morning it let me override the files and now everything seems to be working. I just purchased a new Mac Pro and am working through all the kinks.

can only open firefox once per session. if i exit fox i have to reboot to open fox again. explorer works fine every time!!!!!!!
