G web server as a W2k service

Hello All
I am having some problems with setting G web server as service on Windows 2000.
Did anybody try it before? Does it work stable and fast etc.
Thanks a lot in advance
Pawel

Oh, I see. Fortunately, you can do this. I'm attaching a zip file with documents which describe how to do this. I found it on NI's website a while back. It gives instructions and an example of how to do what you're asking. Hope this helps!

  • Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 SP3 service-j2ee threads problem

    Hi,
    Sorry my english.
    I'm an intermediate Java programmer and a newbie in
    the Sun's web servers world.
    I'm doing an evaluation of an web applicaction
    written in Java Servlets that is
    supposed to have a leaking threads problem. We use
    SunOS 5.9 (... sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-i2) and
    JVM 1.5 Update 4 (the problem is presented too
    in SunOS 5.8 and JVM 1.4.2_04).
    We have seen, thanks to 'prstat' (PROCESS/NLWP) a
    increasing thread's growing in one of the process
    that correspond to our web server instance (I'm sure I'm
    looking the right process). I have checkout the source
    code and it seems like the app doesn't have threads
    problems. I have used the Netbeans Profiler and I see a
    high number of threads called service-j2ee-x that grows
    in congestion moments and never disappear.
    Anybody could help me with suggestions?
    Thank you very much.

    Elvin,
    Thankyou, yes I am unfamiliar with debugging Java apps. I got the web server Java stack trace and I have passed this on to the developer.
    The web server finally closes the socket connection after the total connections queued exceeds 4096.
    There are several hundred entries like this... waiting for monitor entry.. could be a deadlock somewhere?

  • Cannot logout W2K wo stopping web server?

    I am running iws 6.0 on W2K. When I logout of the server the web service stops. I have tried different stop and start service scenarios to fix this to no avail. Any ideas?

    Try the following steps:
    1. Stop the WS instance.
    2. Go to the \web-server-root\https-server-instance\config directory and edit the jvm12.conf file.
    3. Uncomment the "#jvm.option=-Xrs" line and save your changes. i.e.
    Before change:      #jvm.option=-Xrs
    After change:      jvm.option=-Xrs
    4. Restart the WS server instance.
    Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks

  • Unable to install Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 Service Pack 7 on Wndows

    Dear All,
    I recently downloaded Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 Service Pack 7 and now I am trying to install it.
    The previous version of Web Server 6.1 that i installed is running successfully on Windows 2000 Prof. though it is not meant for it.
    To install SP7, i uninstalled the previous Web Server 6.1. I also removed the folder Sun and all the child folders of it. The Sun ONE Web Server services are still available and i can't able to delete them even from registry so i disabled them.
    Then I tried to install SP7. But after few steps, it gives error:
    You already have a Sun ONE Web Server installed. Install can not proceed.
    I am sure that i am able to remove completely the previous instance of webserver as i removed all the entries from registry also and also disabled the services related to it.
    Still why i am getting this error?
    Will it work on Windows 2000 Professional like its previous version?
    If not can i able to install previous version of the Web server 6.1 (without SP7) on Windows 2000 Prof?
    Please help me regarding this.
    -Sameer

    Sameer, you should have uninstalled Web Server 6.1 using the Web Server uninstallation program instead of just deleting its files and directories. Your Windows registry is now in an inconsistent state.
    If you can restore your previous Web Server 6.1 installation from a backup, you can run the uninstaller to correctly uninstall it.
    If you cannot uninstall Web Server 6.1 using its uninstallation program, you will need to manually delete the Windows services and edit the Windows registry to remove all references to the files you deleted. Note that you can render your computer inoperable by deleting services or modifying the Windows registry. Don't do this if you're not confident with what you're doing.
    To delete the services using SC.EXE:C:\>sc delete https-admserv61
    C:\>sc delete https-hostname(You can find the hostname for the Web Server 6.1 service(s) using the Services program in the Administrative Tools folder of the Control Panel.)
    To clean up the registry, use REGEDIT.EXE to delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Sun Microsystems/WebServer.

    So for some reason I've now suddenly got a dependency issue with Ruby. I have no idea how this occurred because I haven't installed anything other than official updates.
    I've tried wayne58's suggestion to no avail.
    I urgently need my Wiki back!!!

    Weird thing is... I have no idea how rack 1.4.1 got installed and by whom. In any case, uninstalling it and reinstalling 1.2.1 solved the problem.

    The subject fields indicate the account on the local system which requested the logon. This is most commonly a service such as the Server service, or a local process such as Winlogon.exe or Services.exe.
    The logon type field indicates the kind of logon that occurred. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).
    The New Logon fields indicate the account for whom the new logon was created, i.e. the account that was logged on.
    The network fields indicate where a remote logon request originated. Workstation name is not always available and may be left blank in some cases.
    The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.
        - Logon GUID is a unique identifier that can be used to correlate this event with a KDC event.
        - Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.
        - Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.
        - Key length indicates the length of the generated session key. This will be 0 if no session key was requested.

  • Web Service with IIS Web server feasible?

    Hi all,
    we have come up with the following architecture and would like to
    know whether we have mis-interpret anything. We would also like
    to know whether this architecture is feasbile or not.
         java client web page browser requesting for the WSDL
         application / of our web service.
              |
              |
         (Internet)
              |
              |
         Firewall 1 (only allow port 80 traffic)
              |
              |
         Microsoft IIS Web Server with iisproxy.dll installed.
         (hostname : d3dpc1 port number : 80)
              |
              |
         Firewall 2 (only allow port 8100 traffic)
              |
              |
         WebLogic 7.1 Server with a web service deployed.
         (hostname : d3dpc2 port number : 8100)
    Assumed that we have constructed a certain web service through
    the weblogic workshop and the web service page can be reached behind
    the Firewall 2 via the following URL:
    http://d3dpc2:8100/treasuryWebService/FileOperation/FileUpload.jws
    Next, we'd like to access the same web service outside the Firewall 1.
    On our IS web server, we make use of the IIS plugin and wrote an
    iisproxy.ini as follows:
    WebLogicHost=d3dpc2
    WebLogicPort=8100
    ConnectTimeoutSecs=20
    ConnectRetrySecs=2
    WLForwardPath=/weblogic
    PathTrim=/weblogic
    we insalled the IIS plugin accoring to the document
    "Using Web Server Plug-ins with WebLogic Server", starting
    with page 3-3, running through steps 1-7, 9-10.
    As a result, through the web page browser on the
    client machine outside the Firewall 1, we can
    obtain the WSDL through the following URL
    http://d3dpc1:80/weblogic/treasuryWebService/FileOperation/FileUpload.jws?WSDL
    At the bottom of the attached WSDL, we found that it appears as
    <service name="FileUpload">
    - <port name="FileUploadSoap" binding="s0:FileUploadSoap">
    <soap:address location="http://d3dpc2:8100/treasuryWebService/FileOperation/FileUpload.jws"
    />
    </port>
    - <port name="FileUploadHttpGet" binding="s0:FileUploadHttpGet">
    <http:address location="http://d3dpc2:8100/treasuryWebService/FileOperation/FileUpload.jws"
    />
    </port>
    - <port name="FileUploadHttpPost" binding="s0:FileUploadHttpPost">
    <http:address location="http://d3dpc2:8100/treasuryWebService/FileOperation/FileUpload.jws"
    />
    </port>
    </service>
    It presents to us the address is "http://d3dpc2:8100...."
    which is behind two of our Firewalls, which is, in turn,
    cannot be directly accessed by our client applications.
    As a result, if we run a java client applications to our web service by
    making use of
    http://d3dpc1:80/weblogic/treasuryWebService/FileOperation/FileUpload.jws?WSDL,
    we may obtain the WSDL but the subsequent method calls to our web service
    may be blocked. Are we mis-interpreting anything? Is it feasible
    for us to setup an IIS web service in between our client applications
    to our web service like that?
    We are pleased to provide further information, like our simple
    web service code, if not sufficient. Please offer help!

    [FileUpload.wsdl]

    Hi Kenneth,
    You need to modify the file weblogic-jws-config.xml in your workshop project
    folder before you genereate the WSDL file.
    The <hostname> and <http-port> entity below will point to your webserver
    address, in this case it would be: <hostname>d3dpc1</hostname> and
    <port>80</port>
    Here is an example of the XML file:
    <config>
    <protocol>http</protocol>
    <hostname>d3dpc1</hostname>
    <http-port>80</http-port>
    <https-port>443</https-port>
    <jws>
    </jws>
    </config>
    Thanks,

  • Difference between web server and presentation service

    Hi,
    Can anyone please help me in getting the answer following query:
    What is difference between the presentation service and a web server? OR If we have a presentation service then why do we require a web server?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Thanks for your reply.
    I gone through the image but didnt get the clear picture. Could you please elaborate it some more?

  • Sun One Web Server 6.0 Service Pack 5

    I installed Windows 2000 SP3, Coldfusion MX Updater 1, and Sun One Web Server 6.0 Service Pack 5. In 2 separate instances I had the Sun One Web Server Stop serving all html pages immediately after I set automatic access log rotation in the web server administrator. I had the access log rotate every 1440 minutes at 12:00 AM. Although the web server instance appeared to be started, no html pages could be served. In addition, I was not able to undo the changes through the web server administrator. I finally tried to edit the magnus.conf file to remove the new log settings. However, nothing could bring back the web server into a working state. Web Server restarts and entire server reboots did not resolve this issue. I was wondering if anybody else has seen this issue and if so, how did you resolve it? I was forced to completely uninstall the web server and reinstall it. This makes me hesitant to put Sun One Web Server 6.0 SP5 into production. Any other thoughts or experiences with SP5 in a Windows/ColdfusionMX environment? Thanks for any help?

    Since removing the log settings from magnus.conf failed to fix the problem, the log settings are probably not the source of the problem.
    Did anything else - e.g. ColdFusion configuration changes - occur at about the same time you changed the log settings?

  • How to run Naming service in WebAs server using telnet

    Hi
       i have a requirement to start a naming service in WebAs server.I have seen all the services running in server using telnet.But i haven't find naming service.So i have to start it.so pls send me the command and the way how to start it.

    Hello Bhogi,
    The naming service is a core service so it should always be started. You can check it via telnet using lss command on the server shell or in the visual administrator if you navidate to server-> services -> JNDI Registry.
    I suspect that you have not seen the naming service via telnet as you were on the dispatcher node instead of on the server.

  • Secure service in Java Web server 2.0

    Hi all, I have installed a Java Web Server 2.0 without the secure service running, and everything works just fine.
    Then I make a self-signed certificate with authstore, using key size 1024, MD5withRSA, hostname: <my computer> (testing on local net (maybe this is what fails?)), and all the other stuff. All looks good and certificate info looks like this:
    Subject Information: CN=yodopc1, OU=SW dept, O=Yodoba, L=Z?rich, ST=Z?ric, C=CH
    Issuer Information: CN=yodopc1, OU=SW dept, O=Yodoba, L=Z?rich, ST=Z?ric, C=CH
    Dates Valid: Thu Jun 28 10:19:35 CEST 2001 --> Wed Sep 26 10:19:35 CEST 2001
    Algorithm: MD5withRSA
    Serial Number: 993716375
    Then I exit, and restart (even tried rebooting machine).
    Start webserver, type inn key password, and login to the Server admin applet. There it says:
    Service -------------- Status ------ Port -- Network Address
    Java web server ------ Terminated - -------
    - Web service -------- Unknown --- 80 ----
    - Secure Web service - Unknown --- 7070 --
    If I try to start the server, it runs for about ten seconds before it is back to the same state again. Of course trying to access server through http(s)://localhost(:7070) results in a "Cannot find server..." If I delete the keys file in <JWS-root>, everything is back to where it was before I started creating the certificate.
    I have seen that there are a lot of old (1-2 years old) Posts with similar and perhaps related issues, but none of witch have any replies that finds a solution. Hopefully someone can help my now...
    All help and suggestion are Greatly appriciated.

    Hi Sjurba,
    Please follow this URL:
    http://www.sun.com/software/jwebserver/faq/faq.html#f6
    http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/sims35/install/postwa.doc6.html
    Also read the below.
    Client side workaround: Use Netscape Communicator 4.x instead of Netscape Navigator 3.x.
    Java Web Server workaround: Use the VeriSign root certificate that is shipped in Java Web Server 1.1. Follow these instructions:
    1.Copy or save the file named keys, located in the top level directory of your Java Web Server installation, to a secure place (for example, a floppy disk).
    2.Locate the secure server certificate that VeriSign sent you.
    3.Install Java Web Server 1.1 in a temporary directory. You don't need to run this server--you only need to run AuthStore to regenerate the keys file. (The install of
    Java Web Server 1.1 does need not be on the same machine as the install of the Java Web Server 1.1.x that has the problem).
    For the remainder of these instructions, 1.1.x server root is the installation directory of the Java Web Server 1.1.x that shows the problem. 1.1 server root is the
    installation directory of Java Web Server 1.1
    4.Copy the keys file from 1.1.x server root/ to 1.1 server root/.
    5.Run AuthStore under 1.1 server root. AuthStore is in the bin directory. You will need to type in the server passphrase to launch AuthStore.
    6.From the scrolling list, select the key that corresponds to the secure server certificate from VeriSign.
    7.Click Import and type the full path of the certificate that you received from VeriSign.
    8.Click Save to write a new keys file under 1.1 server root.

  • Web server refuses connections - Service exited with abnormal code: 1

    I have upgraded to yosemite 10.10.1, my web server refuses to allow connections and I get - Service exited with abnormal code: 1, in the log file. I have reloaded server software and I have rebooted and power restarted my Mac Mini many times

    Fixed this stupid iTunes issue with the following procedure. YMMV
    - Open the Activity Monitor (LaunchPad, Other, Activity Monitor)
    - Force Quit the iTunes Helper app (I had multiply ones running, so quit them all)
    - Install the iTunes .pkg from the Apple website.
    - Force Quit the iTunes Helper again after install
    - Shut Down the MacBook
    - Start again (watch for the progress bar, that’s the fix for permissions working)
    - Start iTunes
    You mileage may vary, but it worked for me.
