G3 b&w no video, nothing at all

Hi people.
Im using a 350 mhz b&w with 10.4.
It doesnt work anymore. When I turn it on, there is no video. I hear the start up chime (its the same as always but a bit intermitent) and the drive spins up but doesnt start up (it does not make any noise exept from its rotation).
When I have the machine turned on and open the side door, it sometimes shuts off, like there is some bad cable. Or it will shut down if you press on the motherboard while its on.
If someone knows anything I could try to diagnose the problem it would be great.
It has 512 mb of ram and nothing connected to the back, only keyboard and monitor.

The display gets no signal. It blinks green... When there is signal the green light should remain on.
I dont know what could it be. I have had many macs from IIci to g5 and never seen this problem.
It sometimes turns off when I open the side door, so I think there could be some bad cable o a bar motherboard. I think my next step would be to take it appart and check for something that could be visibly broken... Dont quite have the time for that now... If you have any other suggestions I could use to diagnose the problem....

Tried to reinstall iPhoto library from external hard drive, it shows that the photos and events are there but there are no thumbnails and if you click on an image or video nothing comes up.

My hard drive crashed recently and we took it to apple to get repaired. The apple employees said that they would have to replace the hard drive but they didn't have the equipment to get the data off my hard drive. So I took it to a computer store who had the right equipment after a month and a half of waiting they finally got all the data off my hard drive and put it on an external hard drive (Seagate Expansion Portable Drive). I then took it back to apple who replaced the hard drive. Now I'm in the process of reinstalling everything. I have never done a Time Machine back up or backed my laptop up to . Which I now will do very often once I've reinstalled everything. I have reinstalled all of my desktop images and folders as well as my iTunes library with no issues. However when i went to reinstall my iPhoto library it came up blank. I then Rebuilt the library several times and this was the result.

Please help i have three years worth of images from holidays on here and would be devastated if i lost them.

iPhoto cannot find the thumbnails or the original pictures.
Go to your iPhoto Library in the Pictures Folder.
Right-click on it and from the resulting menu, choose 'Show Package Contents'.
This will bring you inside the iPhoto Library package. There you should see a Folder called Masters. Within that, there should be folder containing your actual photos.
Are they there?

Yes, we are talking about FCP X...this is the thing:
I worked on a project a few days ago and went to share - export movie.
Today, i opened the FCP again, to make some changes, and when i enter to the project, it shows me as one big clip.....i dont see it says compound clip....and i tried anyways pressing break appart clips...but nothing....could it be that i made it compound before exporting it..? if so how can i recover the un-compound version >?
I tried to import the saved .mov file, but it opens the same....as one long clip...

I can get on the page and read my mail, etc. like normal if i use Internet Explorer, but I prefer Firefox. The problem is Firefox and I rely on my e-mail for job purposes. I want a simple solution to gain acces to all my videos on Apple TV
I want to have all my videos in ONE PLACE!!! Right now they are scattered all over my system. I don´t want to search iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes and different folders every time I want to play my different video files and movies on... let´s say Apple TV. Why can´t we have ONE deticated unified "storage and play back" solution for all our video files on Mac OSX? Or at least a front-end that showcases ALL your videos and that is enabled to fetch ANY of those videos for directly playback right there.
I do understand the need for different input solutions/apps for videos such as iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, Aperture. BUT after processing (or what ever you do with your videos) in those Apps, it would be great to be able to transfer... or keep a grand overwiev of all your videos and movies... in ONE place!
Right now I have video file duplicates all over the place because I want to acces videos easily on my Apple TV and from what ever of the following apps I have open... iTunes - iPhoto - iMovie- (Vimeo) - (Youtube).
I can acces all of my music in ONE place in iTunes. I want a simular "ONE place solution" for my... holiday videos... my downloaded videos... my production videos (iMove etc.) etc. etc.
My question for now is: As we don´t have a proper solution for this yet, then what is at the present, the best and most simple solution to gain acces to my many different videos via Apple TV? I would like to avoid a media server and keep the files on my Mac.

If you want to play them on AppleTV, they need to be in iTunes - simplest way to do this from iMovie is using Share to menu and adding to iTunes.

Is the SIM from the carrier the device is locked to?
Has the device ever been hacked or jailbroken?
Have you tried simply removing and re-installing the SIM? What about replacing the SIM?

That is just a link to what is already on this website. I don't know what any of that stuff MEANS. Tell me what to click on in my computer, if you know. I THINK it has Windows 8.1 but don't know how to tell. I was nagged into installing 8.1 and didn't like it and tried to uninstall it but I think it is still there. The hyperlinks were still working long after that. Now, suddenly, google chrome doesn't work, hyperlinks in emails (only) don't work. I don't know how to "reset" anything. I've checked the obvious things, changed the fuse, tried different cables, poked paperclips in reset holes, but nothing doing. I wonder if there is anyone who knows what might be wrong. Was it possibly a power cut in connection with a thunderstorm? Any other evidence of higher than normal voltages (light bulbs, et cetera)? Has the line voltage been checked (measured with an appropriate voltmeter/multimeter)?
If necessary, it would be possible to remove the hard drive, and then connect it to an external IDE/ATA to USB adapter (example below). That way you could gain access to files on the hard disk from another computer.

I have successfully run Apple Hardware Test and it returned the error code...

A Google search reveals that this is a sensor error. The "V" of VPOR indicates a voltage sensor and the "P" indicates the sensor is on the Power bus. However don't yet know what the "OR" refers to.
I have had a non operative optical disk drive for a year or more but the fault with the video only developed in the last week or two. Could the "O" in VPOR refer to the Optical drive?
By the way, I got the impression from the instructions on running the Apple Hardware Test that I had to use the internal dvd drive to run the APT program from the install disk. But this turned out to be not the case. Just put install disk ito an external drive plugged into the usb ports and use system preferences to set this drive as the start up disk.

Go to your Gmail account in the browser.
Hit the folder icon that brings up the folder selection.
Scroll down to the bottom and select desktop version.
The broswer will refresh and bring up your gmail account as though you were looking on it on the computer.
The go to the upper right corner and select settings.
Then go to forwarding and pop/imap
Go look at pop download
There you'll find 3 numbered lines
Go to 1. Status
And select enable pop for all mail
Then save the settings
Once you have done that you can go back to BlackBerry device settings and sync your mail or wait for it to sync it's self.

How do I stop the page from re-directing when I am searching for something? It re-directs to something that has nothing at all to do with what I was searching for

I put something in the search bar such as "making centerpieces for baby shower" or I put it into google. Then a bunch of matches come up, I click on one that looks good, but immediately it goes to "re-direct" and a web site comes up that has nothing at all to do with the search like an auto shop or something.

I would need more details for this, as you have mentioned rulers move ? Are you referring to rulers on page in design ?
You can move a guide lower down the page , ruler marks will be displayed on ruler but that will not stop you moving the guides.
What happens if you uncheck rulers from top view options ?

Here som other steps you can try;
Make sure that you have an internet connection
Make sure that you have a valid Apple ID (check here: myinfo.apple.com). Note that your Apple ID to register FaceTime on iPad 2, iPod touch, or FaceTime for Mac must be an email address. You can create a new Apple ID or make changes by visiting myinfo.apple.com and using the “Manage your Account” part.
Tap Settings > FaceTime to see that your email address is verified. If your status is saying “verifying,”; then try toggling FaceTime off and on (Settings > FaceTime OR FaceTime for Mac: FaceTime > Preferences)
Try turning FaceTime off and on again using the following (iOS: Settings > Phone OR FaceTime for Mac: FaceTime > Preferences)
Make sure that FaceTime is enabled (Settings > FaceTime.)
Make sure that the camera for FaceTime is not restricted (Settings > General > Restrictions.)

Opening files in Word and Excel - blank or nothing at all

I am a newbie to Mac (going on my third week) and am having problems with MS Office documents and spreadsheets. Most of the time opening a .doc from Finder will result in a "cloud" but Word does not open. The same with Excel. Sometimes Word opens in a blank document, but mostly nothing at all. Sometimes it works out just fine. I haven't been able to figure it out.
If I open the same document from Word (File-Open), then it always works just fine. The same happens with email documents, the file downloads but nothing else happens.
Any ideas where the problem might be?

Until you resolve this issue, and I would point out that MS Office has never really played well with Leopard, you might consider using OpenOffice and/or NeoOffice, both of which are 99.99% MS Office compatible, they have no Leopard issues and they are both free.
Once I began using them I never looked back at MS Office, not even on my PCs.
