G3 Firewire...Serious help needed on Start-up!

Hello folks,
I've had my G3 power book for 4 1/2 years now. I've never had any serious problems until now. When I start it up I get the flashing question mark. I've had this problem before but I was able to fix it by pressing
'shift' while starting up. I've also tried holding the 'space bar', 'cmd-opt-p-r', 'c'. Anything that I try does not seem to work. I am unable to start up from the cd because my cd drive does not work. I've also tried an external cd drive but that doesn't work either. My main concern is that I can get some saved information that I desperately need.
Is there anything else I can do? Please help.

Shut down the Powerbook FireWire a.k.a. Pismo and disconnect all cables, PC cards, and peripherals.
Press the PRAM reset keys (command-option-R-P), power on and release the keys after you hear two startup chimes, and see if it will boot. You have probably already done this many times, but give it a try anyway.
The host computer...running 9.x or 10.x? If 10.x, the Finder Preferences may not be set to display an HD icon on the desktop; open a Finder window and see if the HD is in the left column.
Does the Pismo powerbook properly enter FireWire Target Disk Mode. Please follow the instructions in the link in my previous reply.
Host computer turned on > Pismo turned off > connect Pismo to host via a 6-pin FW cable > start Pismo while pressing the 'T' key until the FireWire symbol appears on the Pismo's screen.

SERIOUS HELP NEEDED!!!

Hi, My 5th gen ipod has somehow lost all of its songs. After pluggin it into the computer and taking it out all is gone. This is the second time that it has happened. Now when I tyr to reset it the latest updater says that the ipod is in use, but nothing is open. I need serious help I can nto do anythign with my Ipod now when I try and press it it says the website of apple.com/support/ipod. Thanks so much!

Error message showing on start-up. Serious help need.

I am not able to search on Google.com and mostly all of the search engine, it is showing Untrusted connection and if I enter complete website then it works sometime(e.g www.facebook.com). I have already tried setting up the real clock timings. Also, even after downloading ad-blocker, I am still facing ad problems.

What is the error message you see at startup? Is that in the page itself or a pop-up?
There are many potential causes for widespread certificate errors. These include Firefox not being fully set up to work with your security software (or using Firefox's Reset feature, which means setting that up again). But malware also is a potential culprit.
Have you added any exceptions (using the Add Exception button in the "I Understand the Risks" section of the error page)?
You may want to check that your Firefox connection setting has not been modified:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
You could try "No proxy" there.

Help needed to start a basic connection to a database

Hi,
totally new in this java JDBC concept. Need help to perform a kick start ni a program which will connects to a database and perform a simply SQL query.
Possible can demostrate a full simple program that connects to the database and perform the SQL query.
PS : database not accessed through webserver, but through direct connection.

Help needed on start up

Hello all... I seemed to have done something very bad to my iMac. When I start it up 3 images flash repeatedly and there is no way for me to start any work on my computer. The 3 images that flash are the apple logo, a prohibited symbol, and the file folder with the question mark on it. I have tried the startup holding down the control key, see the startup disk, bu when I click the arrow the system runs through the 3 symbols again. Eventually the process stops on the file folder. I realize I may need to bring the computer in to a store, but I thought I would throw the question to the masters first. Any suggestions? I will admit that I deleted the library folder, only because it was duplicated. I realize that this is probably the reason this is happening, but if anyone can assist me in restoring the library folder (even though there is already one on the hard drive) I would appreciate that as well. Yep. Figured. I was running Mountain Lion (pre-mavericks). So, what to do, what to do?
I thought since the library was duplicated I'd be good. Never thought that this would be the result. Do I bring it to an Apple store, or sell it as scrap? I do have an external hard drive that has been backing up, so we're good there.

Okay this has happened to me twice. Second time just now. I noticed all my files were mucked up and wouldn't open, so I performed a battery pull with the device turned on. Turned my phone back on to discover a media card error with clustered files- tried to repair, repair failed. I've lost everything- again. I went to options>device>storage and tried to repair from there and it said I didn't have a media card installed. Tried to repair anyway and it also failed.
The first time this happened I tried to repair from my computer and that failed too- it has failed this time also. I reformatted the card from my device- if anyone has a way to get my files back please let me know!
I had seriously important memories and things I seriously need to get back. If there's any way I can't get them back please let me know. It says I have absolutely nothing in my files on my phone. Pleaaaase help!

Serious help needed... AS2

Ok. I'm NOT good with as. I'm building a website. i'm gona try to explain the best i can.
SO...I've had a LOT of problems with this website. so i decided to start it over. The way it is now (to fix a lot of other problems), i have a menu ON the main scene, in a mc. And to call the "sections" of the menu (example: photos), i call labeled frames, which are on the MAIN scene as well. Up to now, its working.
Next, when u click on the PHOTOS button (which is a mc as well), the background changes, and the thumbnails appear to the right (animated from outside the stage to inside...) Then, u can pic the pic u want. When you leave the section, i wanted to have the "ThumbOut" animation play and finish BEFORE the section changes.Still ok up till now.
NOW...in the photos section, i created two animations: thumbsIN and thumbsOUT, for when u get IN the section, and LEAVE the section.(OUT) i labeled the frames (thumbin, thumbout) and called those with AS. Still ok.
i then made an action to call these animations when we click on the PHOTOS mc, and SOMEHOW figured out (by copying tutorials and bits of AS:P) how to get it to animate OUT when u leave the section.
it looks like this:

Works FINE!!! when im in the photo section, and i click on the about button, works like a charm: thumbnail animation plays, then finishes, THEN changes section.
the problem? THIS: when i'm in any other section, the About(propos) button doesnt work!!
now i think i know why, but i dont have the slightest clue on HOW to do it:
i think i need to say: if the thumbMc is already loaded, go on with the script (meaning, wait for the mc to finish before playing). if NOT, just go play the frame: "propos".
i hope that iv been not too complicated...

ok we are getting somewhere!!! nice.. ok, now the REAL problem is:
if i'm IN the photo gallery section (meaning that the thumbMc is loaded), i want it to do this actionscript we just discussed
if i'm NOT IN the gallert section (any other section, meaning that thumbMc is NOT loaded), i want it to just directly to _root.gotoAndPlay("Propos")
meaning that it bypasses the thumbMc animation, and just goes to play the frame labeled "Propos" at the root.
i tried this:

Serious help needed, google chrome wont work, access priviledge problems

I have a 2007 MacBook Pro. I recently wanted to change the settings so I wouldn't have to type my password to make changes to the system settings, so I typed this is the terminal :
sudo chown -R myname .
Then I put in my password. After that I changed an account called "wheel" that I never saw before from "read and write" to "read". In the middle of this I think I cancelled the operation. Shortly after the internet page I was on crashed. I tried to restart Google Chrome and it doesn't respond. I tried safari and it doesn't do a thing. My iTunes keeps giving me a message that says the library cannot be saved because I don't have sufficient access priviledges.
I'm seriously worried right now that I permanently broke my laptop and I am very concerned and help would be so appreciated rn.

Just a few additional thoughts; if you would like to attempt some automated repairs:
A) Repair disk permissions via single user mode. This link should help: http://osxdaily.com/2014/01/27/verify-disk-command-line-mac-os-x/
B) Purchase a boot-able flash drive for Disk Warrior: http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior. Which is a more advanced tool than the built-in one.
By using sudo, it makes (super user) changes instantly. The reason unix and similar oses prompt for a password is to safe guard potential harmful system changes. You can't remove the requirement entirely from needing one.
Its tough to trouble shoot blind without being there, but hopefully the system can be restored with a backup or repairing permissions.

Serious help needed with icloud restore

Hey guys and ladies, i am in a serious state of confusion.
firstly with my old email address i was getting alot of spam and fake emails, so i changed my email address, and i updated my apple id to this as well. all going well, and then i decided to get an iphone 5.
i was using iphone 4s and backup my photos and apps to icloud so i could restore it to my new iphone 5 today.
well that hasnt worked out great. its still asking for my old account/apple id password and even the senior level of applecare support cant figure it out either.
i have lots of important family photos sitting in the icloud that i truly dont want to lose. when i reset and try again still asks for the old and new logins.
been a nightmare today.
any help or tips would be great.

Since the email address is no longer active you'll need help from iTunes store support to reset the password. (Even though this is an iCloud account, they deal with Apple ID issues all the time.) Suggest you contact them here, explain that you are trying to access your iCloud backup but it isn't accepting your Apple ID password and you are unable to reset it because the primary email address associated with the account is no longer active and need their assistance: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

WRT160N Version 3; SERIOUS HELP NEEDED FOR SETUP PLZ??!?!?!

I bought this router probably around 3 weeks ago.
The following is a list of chronological scenarios that i have tried in order to install it and everything during the first week that i got it:
1. I followed the CD's instructions, got LELA, but then when i used LELA to 'add another computer' it just gave an error, and then after this i could not be screwed using LELA anymore and so i uninstalled it, and then went online to 192.168.1.1 to configure the settings of the router, SSID, password and security which i put was WPA2 etc.
BUT THIS DID not work at all, i have 2 laptops, 1 of them which is new, and the other which was a couple of years old, they could not detect anything.
2. I then did some internet research, and read on these forums that i needed to change some of its advanced wireless settings, i did that. And then I could actually connect......and was extremely happy at this moment, BUT the next day i noticed, that even though i was about a metre away from the router, my speed was varying BADLY, initially when i first connect with my new laptop which has a Intel Wifi 5100AGN adapter it has a speed of 144mbps, but when i open internet explorer, i see the speed going slower and slower, until it is 1mbps, and sometimes the wireless just cuts out. This happened to my other laptop as well.
3. I then called for technical assistance, spent so much time talking trying to solve, and downloaded the latest firmware, reflashed the router, but still it has this problem of slowing speeds which is really frustrating.
And doing some more talking and following more instructions from the person on the phone, both my laptops could not connect to the router, even though it can see it at 'Excellent' connectivity.
4. And so, the person on the phone concluded that i should exchange the router with new one, which i am planning to do, and will probably get it tomorrow. But i am also thinking to myself whether or not to get a different one.
SOME NOTES:
-When it is wired the internet works fine
-the adapter in the older laptop is a intel 2200BG, so i know that it would probably go at a max speed of 54mbps
-when i said changing advanced wireless settings, i meant changing frequency/RTS/beacon levels etc to the values i have seen on these fourms.
CURRENTLY, since i am exchanging i have gone back to the old ASUS router which is G. and it connects well with the old laptop with a constant speed of 54mbps, but havent tried the new laptop as i can not be bothered. Also my main reason of getting a N router is just for range, because with the current one, i just cannot detect the router when i am in my bedroom, which is less than 20m, even if i can detect it is is very poor connectivity, WHERE AS with the WRT160n before i exchanged it, i could detect at first with Excellent connectivity, but as i said, the problems with speed and wireless cutting out etc is what results from this router.
I guess my main point is that, i want to ask any of you have used the VERSION 3 of WRT160N, and is currently working very well wirelessly. Can u please tell me the step-by-step instructions to help me set this router perfectly?

Try updating both of your laptops wireless cards that could fix the problem (you know may not be compatible with your WRT160N).
I know you said you changed the channel your router broadcasting in but do you have a lot of other wireless networks in your area???

Can't Activate my Creative Cloud Subscription -- SERIOUS HELP NEEDED!!!

For the past 3 weeks, I've been trying to activate my Creative Cloud subscription (placed my Creative Cloud order on 12/29/12). Like others, it appears that I’m trapped in perpetual "trial mode" status. When I try to activate my subscription -- I click the “register product” button…sign into my Adobe ID account…and receive a prompt to enter a serial number. Every time. I’ve litterally read every post/link/tutorial/troubleshooting selfhelp in this forum and on the Adobe FAQ pages - with great attention, might I add - but nothing seems to work.
I've spent hours upon hours on the phone/live chat w/ Adobe reps trying to resolve this issue. I've opened no less than 10 support cases. EVERY SINGLE TIME that I try to activate my Creative Cloud membership, an Adobe rep feeds me the "I'll be sure to escalate this issue to the next level of support" line. Likewise, Adobe support reps stated numerous times, that personnel from Adobe would contact me within 24 hours of my call to resolve the issue. However, they’ve yet to follow through with this claim. (Surprise)
Adobe should be ashamed by the egregious performance of their "technical support team.” If Adobe won't fix the software, which they've already charged me for, then they've left me w/ little choice but to cancel my order before the initial 30 day period is up. Enough is enough.
With that being said, Adobe, the following describes this dismal experience:
I bought a subscription of Creative Cloud on 12/29/12 (somehow I ended up w/ the Multi Language edition of Creative Cloud- yes I've fiddled w/ the language settings in the app manager. Doesn't work.)
I received an order verification email from Adobe for my purchase, however, the order was never listed under the "my recent order" section of my Adobe ID
Despite telling Adobe support that I only had one Adobe ID, they insisted that my order was showing up in their system, of which, was accessible by logging into my alternative Adobe ID (this didn’t exist because I only have one Adobe ID).
Eventually, Adobe determined that a system error occurred on their side while processing the transaction, and fixed this initial issue.
After this was resolved, I was able to login to my Adobe ID account and actually see my Creative Cloud membership order when viewing “my recent transactions.”
After all of that, I'm facing my 2nd major issue w/ this program: the inability to activate my subscription. As previously stated, I've tried everything to fix this issue. I'm thinking that the initial problem w/ placing the order resulted in defective software. Also, I’m not sure if this info is relevant, but I purchased the multiple language edition of Creative Cloud (somehow). I live in the US, speak English, and am running OS X 10.8.2.
Someone from Adobe, please look into this issue and help me. I’ll be glad to provide any other relevant info that you may need.

Had the exact same problem, just got it fixed. The solution is quite fast. Navigate to the hosts file. On a pc it's in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder, locate the file named 'Hosts' inside the etc folder. Open it with notepad. Delete everything underneath

Save. Open the application manager again, click "License this product" and sign in. It should work, now.

Help needed to start HTTP Protocol with timeout

I am looking for information to point me in the right direction. I would like to create a class that would implement the HTTP protocol and would allow the user to specify a timeout if unable to connect to the server. I have used the URL and HttpURLConnection classes before, but have not used any of the other classes in the java.net package. I am just trying to create an app that will download a file from a specified URL. Something that I could use in the future and something to get more programming experience using the java.net package.
Could you tell me:
1) Which classes I would need to use to help implement a timeout
2) Where I can find an example or other information on how to implement the HTTP protocol with the class from question 1 above.

That would definately reduce the coding time but would
do little to help with my understanding of classes in
the java.net package or to gather a better
understanding of the HTTP protocol. :-)
That said, I am currently downloading the 1.5 beta to
see what they have done.If it's just an academic thing to re-invent the wheel (code) that deals with the HTTP protocol, then go right ahead (ok, you don't need my permission).

New to flash help needed to start

hi i have just downloaded a template which im now trying to modify, i have tons of files which came with the template which one do i start on first to make my website. many thanks debby

If your template came with some form of Read Me file, you should start there. A good template design will provide instructiuions on how to modify it to include your own content. Beyond that, if it is a Flash site, then you want to edit Flash files that have .fla extensions. There may be data files that came with the template that may have .xml or .txt extensions. You may want to look thru these to see if the resemble/define any of the content you plan to change.
Unfortunately, if there are alot of files that came with your template then there are alot of possibilities as to what files need to be dealt with in what way. If there is no read me file, then open whatever fla file came with it and see what's in it that you planned to change as a starting point.

Please consult with AIX (OS) person is there any exe running at the time of SAP start otherwise this is not happining with SAP.
