G3 recognizes airport card, but cant see the network
I just bought an Airport Card for my 10.3 400MHz iMac. I plugged it in, it recognized the card, but it isnt seeing my wireless network. Whats going on?
Did you connect the wire for the antenna to the AirPort card?

Hi, I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro but cant get the mirroring function to work with Apple TV. I've got the most recent Software 10.7.5 but cant see the mirroring icon or turn this on. I'm able to mirror from my Ipad but not my Mac, any thoughts?

AirPlay Mirroring is supported on your Mac, but it needs OS X Mountain Lion (10.8). See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404
You have two possibilities:
1. Make a backup, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion to upgrade to this OS X. Then, you will find the AirPlay Mirroring icon at the top right of the display, on the menu bar, or on System Preferences > Displays.
2. Keep OS X Lion and use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
Both options work properly, but I recommend AirPlay Mirroring as it doesn't need a third-party program -
Airport cant see the network its created
Did the update today...unsure that has anything to do with it, as the problem hapopened before. Anyway, I've reset a few times - to factory and hot reboot. Nothing!!!!!!
Help -If you reset the AirPort to factory defaults, then you'll need to search for a wireless network with a name like Apple Network xxxxxxx to be able to "see" the AirPort Extreme.
There's no security on this network, so no password is required.
You will need to log on to this network first if you want to configure the AirPort device using wireless, then open AirPort Utility to reconfigure the AirPort device.
You can also temporarily connect a spare Ethernet cable from your computer to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Airport Extreme if you want to configure it using a wired connection.
Once the device is re-configured, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable. -
My laptop won't see internet, but can see the network
I have Comcast internet service. The Modem is connected to my AirPort Extreme (n + gig-e) and the ethernet is distributed with a linksys gig-e switch. My PowerBook can still see the internet via a wireless connection (g) and the G4 PowerMac can still see the internet via Ethernet through the switch and router, but the MacBook Pro cannot see the internet using either the wired or wireless connection. It gets an IP address (MAC reservation) from the AE and it can connect to the other computers on the network, but it is not seeing the internet. I am assuming there is something screwy happening to the AE because the MacBook Pro connects to the internet just fine when I take it to work and my friend's PC laptop had the same problem on my home network.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me nuts!Seems like it is a DNS issue of some kind.
I changed the MacBook DNS servers to a bunch of public ones and now it seems to be working again.

Okay. I hope I can remeber all my steps exactly because I fixed my own problem...with absolutely no help from Apple. I opened itunes. I connected my ipod touch to my computer. On my itunes page that shows my songs in the upper right side under the search library box there is an itunes button and since I am connected there is an ipod button. DO NOT CLICK THE ARROW in the ipod button...just click in the mail part of the button. On mine it opened to a summary page that gave info on my ipod. The menu bar has Summary, Apps, Tones, Music and more. I clicked on the Music button. I chose to Sync the entire music library. That replaced what was on my ipod but what was on there was going to be put back on so I was okay with it. I then clicked the Sync button on the lower right side and it sync'd and all my songs are on my ipod again. I hope this might help someone else. Good luck.

Cant see the document canvas just grey background
CANT SEE THE CANVAS PS4 ?just built a new pc and my ps4 (previous hdd ) runs fine ( so the mob and video card seem all good ). I created a new os on a new hdd and installed ps4 everything seems fine but cant see the canvas , can draw on it but just see the grey backround ( i can see it creating in the layers pallet). Illustrator works fine ..please help

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem. -
Im trying to use my apple TV to see a movie from my iphone. Since i select the airplay icon on my phone, i can only hear the voice of the movie on my screen but i cant see the movie, can anybody help me pls? Tks

I cant seem to scan from my hp photosmart 7520 printer to my iMac but can scan using the iMac? Photosmart cant see the iMac. Mac is wired to the router printer over wi fi.

I dopped my iphone on the floor today and nothing cracked but when i tried to turn it on, the screen had a bunch of barcode like stripes. even though i cant see the screen, i was still able to type in my password and answer a phone call. how can i fix it?
YOU can't fix it. But you can bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty replacement for $199.

I have a Power PC G4 which is running on OSX 10.5.8, it has the AirPort utility but cannot connect to the internet as my iMac can, I think I might need an AirPort Card? Is that the case or do I need something different to connect to a wireless modem?

Only one variant of the PowerMac G4 could use the faster Airport Extreme Card. The rest used the original Airport card that is pretty slow.

There are USB solutions also. However, all PowerMac G4 towers had only slower USB 1.1 ports, so any USB wireless adaptor can only run at about wireless 'B" speeds (slow) unless you also install a PCI USB 2.0 adaptor card. Doing that would allow a USB wireless adaptor to run at its maximum rated speed. These items working together would accomplish that:

That does not work on model year older then 2010 and really doesn't work on any older then late 2011 models.
You will need a set of original system dvd disc thjat are always sypplied with every mac sold before Lion came out. Systems older then late release early 2011 models.
If you don't have them you kcan order a replacement set from apple by calling them. Have the serial number of you mac handy. -
MacBook 2008 wifi suddenly stopped working and says no wifi hardware. Took it to an apple shop, they said it could be the airport card but wouldn't do anymore then that.
Any help on how to fix this? How do I know if it is the airport card or not?

Go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites. They have parts and installation instructions. To install an Airport card is fairly easy.

These photos were sent to me by photgraphers who have edited the photos and added captions and technicala information that shoudl be seen in Lightroom.
I cant open the photos that are in Creative Cloud in Lightroom and therefore acant access the captions and the other specifics regarding copyright etc

ThanksThe photos on CC will be synced to a folder on your hard drive.
You need to import into Lightroom from that folder.
