  • Problem with KTV3 and PCI USB card extension from QTEC type 13068

    Hello all,
I have been trying to make work a PCI USB card extension from QTEC type 13068. This card allows to give 4 USB  ports more.
My problem is that oinly 2 ports are working and WINXP SP1 is saying that there are not enough ressources for all the PCI functions. However there is enough free IRQ. Even using this card alone on the mainboard give the same error.
I am using a KTV3 (MS-6712 VER:1.0A) and I have no idear why this is happening. Could it be a bad interaction between the BIOS and the card?  wall Or WIN XP? angryfire
All comments and ideas to try are welcome especially from those who have this QTEC card.
    Regards.

What operating system are you using?  The card requires SP1 for XP and SP4 for 2000.  If you have these, try to uninstal the cardl and let Windows reinstall the card on start-up.

  • New iPod not loading on computer w/ new USB card... HELP!

My new 30g 5g is only about a month old. I've been hooking it up to my computer (PC) via the old USB (1) and it has worked fine. I just got a new external drive which pushed me into needing more USB slots so I got a new USB 2.0 card (Startech) and put that in my computer. The drive and everything else works fine through the card, however, my ipod won't work properly with it. The iPod used to load on My Computer as an ipod with its name and when opened would show the folders on the iPod. Now, it loads as a "removable disk" with nothing inside. And it won't load in iTunes at all.
If I connect it through the old USB slot it seems to work as normal. Also, anything else I connect with the new USB card works fine.
I've tried updating iTunes, restarting, tried all the different ports on the new card, took the card out and reinstalled...
I've avoided wiping my iPod so far, but I know that is one option. My iPod is basically brand new so I'm stumped. Any help is appreciated.
    PC   Windows XP

my only suggestion would be to format it thru windows (mycomputer, right click the ipod, format, quick format) then restore it with the ipod updater.
i myself am looking into getting a usb 2.0 card because im hoping it will fix my problem with random disconnections. i hope you work it out.

  • Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC compatibility with Belkin 802.11b PDA card

    Hello,
I was recently given a Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC and I'm trying to sync it to my IMAC using my internet connection. I'm running OS X 10.3. Dell's website stipulates that the compact flash card that I need is an 802.11b model. I purchased a Belkin 802.11b Wireless PDA Network Card to satisfy this stipulation, but upon investigation of the software I find that I need to be running at least Windows 98 with Window CE embedded. Is there anyway of me getting around this with my MAC???? To further complicate matters, when I attach the pocket pc to my USB port it isn't even recognized. Is this because it's a Windows device??? Is there any work-around for this?????
    Thanks

    Prakash,
Thanks for contacting National Instruments.  According to hp's website, the 2490 does have a type II slot.  Also, if you look at the datasheet for the CF-6004 it states that it is a Type II card.  Let us know if you have anymore questions.

    Hi Cnu
Let me work through an example. A table named EMPLOYEE may have a natural key of EMPLOYEE_ID. When loading this table as a target in ODI, you will need to define the key that will be used by the KM for Updates and Deletes. This key will be defined on the Datastore as a constraint.
If you expand the Model, expand the EMPLOYEE Datastore, you will find the Constraints section under the Datastore. Create a new constraint. In the case of an SCD integration type, you should have a surrogate key as well as the natural key. EMPLOYEE_ID, being the natural key for EMPLOYEE, would most likely need to be setup as an Alternate Key constraint. So, set the constraint type as such and add the column EMPLOYEE_ID to the list of key columns. Save the constraint.
Open the Interface that loads the EMPLOYEE table, click on the Target Datastore (EMPLOYEE), and in the Property Inspector you should find a property named Update Key. This dropdown will list all of the available constraints from the Target Datastore. You will want to choose the constraint that the Interface will use to perform updates and deletes on in the Target (depending on your KM). In this case, the Alternate Key constraint setup based on the EMPLOYEE_ID should be chosen.
A long answer, but I hope it explains it well for you.
    Regards,
    Michael Rainey

  • USB card disappeared

I've been using a Belkin 2-port USB card in my Beige G3 for a number of years. This morning the card could not be found. I have an Epson 740 plugged into one of the ports and all lights on the printer just blinked all day. I could not print. The system profiler did not show the USB card.
On another note, I installed a superdrive about a month ago. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This morning while perusing the system profiler I clicked on ATA and the profiler froze -- never showed the superdrive. Had to force quit the system profiler, but it wouldn't quit, so I turned off the power to the computer.
Anyone have any idea why overnight the USB card just disappeared? And why the superdrive isn't recognized and only works on occasion?
Specs: G3 with Logitek 1.1 gig processor, 356MB RAM, 160GB HDD, OS 10.3.9.
    Thanks!
    Jon

Belkin USB 1.1 cards have caused a lot of grief in the Beige G3. Look at the largest chip on the USB card; if it says "OPTI," you may be better served by another card. The NEC chipset usually gives better reliability.
Before dumping the Belkin card, try moving it to the middle PCI slot. That sometimes makes the Belkin get happy again.

  • PCI USB Card Does NOT Work With Mass Storage Devices

I have a StarTech PCI card with 6 USB 2.0 ports that I inserted in my 500 MHz (overclocked) B&W Power Mac G3. It works great for any USB device EXCEPT for any hard drive or DVD/CD-RW drive. I checked the system.log file for errors. Nothing shows up in System Profiler or Disk Utility, obviously. Here's what it consistently says:
Dec 16 23:33:28 Geoff-Myers-Power-Mac-G3 kernel[0]: USBF: 674.997 [0xf9c000] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 6 of hub @ location: 0x62000000)
    Dec 16 23:33:33 Geoff-Myers-Power-Mac-G3 kernel[0]: USBF: 679.977 [0xf9c000] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device.
I'm running the latest version of Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.3. What is wrong? StarTech doesn't have a driver, but nothing should be necessary. Is there a 3rd party USB Mass Storage Device driver that might work better than the Apple generic driver? PLEASE HELP ME! I cannot live with USB 1.1.

Some users have reported problems with certain brand cards and their controller chipsets, so trying a different card may resolve the problem. Keyspan and Macally are often mentioned as being more "Mac-friendly" than some other lessser-known brands or generic cards. Does the card have a mini-power port to supplement the power requirements? With USB 2.0, each port is on a separate bus, so a card with six ports should have one. To minimize the overall draw on the available power, I prefer to install USB cards with as few ports as are needed.

  • Pb with X200, NEC based USB 3.0 PCI card and external USB 3.0 HD

Hello, I ordered a USB 3.0 Express Card based on the NEC chipset. I am using a Lenovo X200 under XP SP3 and I have an external Buffalo Ministation USB3.0 HD. No problem to install the Express Card driver, the card is recognized but the HD won't mount. I have the USB connection beep and in the next 10 sec the USD disconnection beep. This is not a low power issue, I connected to the Express Card a power supply and have the same issue. In addition, this config, Express Card and Ministation Buffalo just work fine on a T60 under Windows 7. Any idea? Many thanks ! Tom

I would like to add IO to my Mac Pro Details of it are below
I have looked at several options and would be happy to go with either eSata or USB 3.0.  I have heard some bad reviews about the USB 3.0 PCI offerings out there though.
On the one hand, I have an unused eSata enclosure so I would not have to buy one,  on the other hand a few USB 3.0 ports on the machine would allow grerater expandability with a USB 3.0 hub hung off the back.  ( can you get eSata hubs?  never thought of that until just now)
The nearest thing to an eSATA hub is a 'SATA port-multiplier'. This allows connecting up to 4 SATA drives to a single SATA port.
Note: Not all SATA or eSATA cards support 'port-multiplier' functionality. The CalDigit card says it does support port-multiplier enclosures, what this means is that a single eSATA cable can be connected to an external box containing multiple SATA drives and see and use them all.

  • Rear audio with audio usb card, hercules muse

    Hello,
i have bought an audio usb card (hercules muse pocket lt), but i have a problem to use rear audio output. Using vlc player it works fine with all outputs (if it plays a dvd with sound 5.1), but with other softwares (itunes, dvd player..) it doesn't work .. so it works in 2.1 mode, only in stereo.
In Audio/Midi setup, i have configured the speakers, multiple channels, and 5.1 surround, and I test each speaker and they work fine! But in audio output list i can set only master volume, and the six channels aren't active.
Is there a solution to use the rear audio output?
Thank you, and sorry for my english, i hope you understand my problem!

  • PowerMac G4 With Belkin Wireless Card

I recently moved my G4 (MDD) to the basement where I do not have wiring for the network. I have a belkin wireless pci card that I was not using so I thought I'd try to install it in the G4. How should I go about doing this. Thanks
    Jon

If the Belkin card uses the Broadcomm chipset it will just work, otherwise confirm with Belkin that they supply Mac drivers.
