G4 dual Logic Updated to 7.2.3 Exs Instruments not found!

I have a G4 dual , with OS 10.4.8 and I just updated to Logic 7.2.3 and now when I do the Expanded scan or try to get my computer to recognize my Exs24 instruments nothing happen, its searched i tried selecting folders, its searches but its says 0 found instruments....!
I have all my Exs stuff on an external drive and I made alias's of the exs and the sampler instrument folders and placed them in the main library, in the app support, in the logic folder is where i put the alias's. Then i went into logic, project manager and did and expanded scan...nothing. Whats up!!? I really need to figure this out asap.

No, that's not the problem, I mean it installs perfectly from the DVD -- no errors, no indication of any problems whatsoever, however when I double click the app to start logic up, instead of starting up I get the error message: The Application Logic Pro has unexpectedly quit. What would you like to do: Close, Reopen, blah blah, not even a splash screen shows up. nothing. I am using Onyx on a regular basis and have been running all cleanup and optimization scripts in it. didn't help at all. And I really don't want to create a second user on my machine -- it's only my machine, nobody else uses it, and I have only had problems with multipe users in the past (especially with authorizations and stuff), but I also don't think it has anything to do with accounts

Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

Logic crashes when opening song with EXS instrument

I'm having problem opening a L7 song that contains and EXS instrument. Can't get song open before logic crashes.
The song loads except for the exs file (stock sample in default library). "Loading audio files" for the EXS gets to the last wav file of the patch then stops, the command-period to cancel doesn't work. Logic freezes and L7 "not responding" and have to force quit. Ironically, this EXS patch works in a new song when loaded.
I think i have tried everything with project manager scans and prefs: rescanned project manager, removed the scans, changed all the project manager pref settings ("search using pm database only", unselected "pm on program launch", etc)
Its not just this song but backups / previous versions. Trashed logic preferences, etc but no change. This song also uses ewqlso (loads fine) but i have reduced the buffer on that and there should not be any memory problems.

Finally I got the free time to explin wht happened. Well, here is what happened to this particular corrupted song. I have heard rumours abound about OSX updates and EWQLxx but i have absolutely no proof of this just like I originally thought this was an EXS problem.
Anyways, I found a solution - With core audio disabled I emptied logic trash via key command, but did NOT reorganize song memory. That was the kicker for some strange reason.
So I think I figured out what some already know here but trying the three combinations (trash only, reorg only, or both together) may help solve similar issues.
Good luck, this one really blows under a tight deadline.

Unable to update or restore Ipod due to firmware not found?

Can anyone help me? I've had my Video Ipod for about a year and a half and have never had trouble with it until now. I can't update it to the lastest software as a message comes up Unable to update software due to firmware not being found. I tried to resort to restoring it to the original factory settings but I ran into a message that said Unable to restore ipod due to firmware not found. Has anyone else had this problem? Help!!!

Logic exs inst not found?

Hey I have Logic 9.1.7 and it seems some exs inst. do not load because they are missing some files. The question is how do I find which instruments are affected, plus how do I fix this? Do I have to re-install?
It seems to only be the issue with the EXS.

I thought it may be of some intrest to also mention that I tried to open my EXS sample straight from Finder. The sample is 'checked' to open in Mainstage and this is what popped up:
I found it interesting that Mainstage says the sample is corrupted. So, I went into the EXS sampler itself from Logic and found you can access all the instrument '.exs' files via the 'edit' button to the right of the preset pane. You open the sample via the 'instrument' button at the top of the edit window.
What's happening is, EXS is identifying the sample and wants to play it, but in my case, the '.aif not found' file, although very small, is missing and corrupting the sample. I guess it's like trying to start your car with a faulty spark plug, it's very small, but it's crucial and the car wont start without it. I continued to proceed in the EXS editor and got this:
In the 'Audio File' column, are all the '.aif' files that seem to represtent the 'pitch' of the MIDI events that occur in a recorded MIDI region. So, my '.aif not found' file one could argue, is actually a missing 'note' within my 'Dobro Slide' sample. If you notice the grey, rectangular shapes above the piano keys at the bottom of the pic. There is a square chunk missing on the left side, I have a feeling that's the missing piece of my sample, deeming it 'corrupted'.
I have noticed your's is a '.wav' file that is missing, but, at a guess, I think we have the same issue. I think a re-install of all samples are the only option.

Older Logic 7 & 8 song plug-in extension ".SDIR" not found in Logic 9

I have some older songs done in logic 7 & 8
When I try to open them in logic 9, as an example it might spend time searching hard drives for: Space Designer plugin settings with the extension ".SDIR" but my saved setting have the extension ".pst" … this wastes a lot of time looking for them.
Q: Is there some way to stop the searching and / or correct the extensions so ".SDIR" can 'live' in logic 9?

I found that old logic 8 ones are organized in 26 folders and new ones are in 5 main folders...
I probably only need a few old ones to add in to logic 9 (many might be the same) so where is the best place to add them in:
/lib/audio/Impulse Responses/apple/EXTRAS HERE?

Logic Pro 8 hangs while loading EXS instruments/reverb...

Recently, I encountered a strange problem with logic pro 8: After saving with assets (copy external audio files to project folder), logic hangs every time I load an apple software instrument (i.e. EXS, sculptor) or apple reverb (i.e. space designer). The instruments will load and I'll be able to even get sounds from them, but soon the spinning multi-colored logo appears and logic hangs. Interestingly, after I choose to save the same project as without assets, the problem disappears. Any ideas?

Yeah I too have unfortunately been having it since about the time logic 9 came out :-/ i would greatly appreciate help as I've reinstalled logic, rebooted logic, deleted preferences and still it has trouble with the instrument load times. I also can hear and even play an instrument but have absolutely no access to logic while the circle spins. any help would be appreciated

I am trying to reupload the pages of my site but it will not update after, instead it tells me 'Object Not Found!', please help?

I downloaded the pages of the website to another computer that I have access to, edited them and tried to re-upload them back to the website with the changes made. In doing this I went to see if the changes were viewable on the website and they were not. Whenever I try to "open" the newly uploaded pages it tells me "Object Not Found!". I am running the latest version 10.0.5 through a Macbook Pro that has just been upgraded to 16GB Ram and a 960GB SSD which has made it as fast as ****. I upgraded because I was experiencing problems before and it was suggested that I didn't have enough Ram?
I am using a Focusrite scarlett 2i4 and an Alesis Q61 midi controller. Weirdly, just trying to put a bass line down on a track using the Alesis, the bass sound goes out of tune with the track during recording only. This is very frustrating! I surely can't be the only one experiencing this?

Time lost could be a problem, but.....
Sadly, I don't think that there are any Apple docs relating to networked storgae issues with Logic. Other than a 'school' or 'business' setup, NAS/OD/AD setups are not usual circumstances for audio.
If the issue is one of data backup & security, it may be enough to automatically backup the students local work folders to the NAS.
If the issue is one of the Users being able to work from any Mac and pick up their files from the server, you are not likely to resolve this problem, without copying the files to the Local Mac.

Thx, but i had already read that and tried it: did not work.
Got it fixed now by reinstalling Logic Studio 9 from DVD.
That indeed creates the Logic Pro folder in Applications - something I had tried earlier by simply moving my existing Logic folder. This means the Logic 9.1.5 update does not simply check a folder name: there must be another entry/registry entry it checks. Reinstalling Logic Studio from scratch solved it for me.
After reinstalling thought Lion forgot my Focusrite Saffire 40, so no DAW. Solved that by reading a forum entry on beta drivers.
So I am happy, music creation wise.
Left for me is to solve the X Mail application saying it does not run under Lion!

For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder. It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works. Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution: I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm.

Sampletank 2.5 won't launch after installing Logic update 9.1.7

After installing 9.1.7 update, my Sampletank 2.5 XL will not launch. Contacted IK Multimedia to troubleshoot, they pointed the finger back at Apple. ????

What OS are you on? I just checked it in SN 10.6.8 and Logic 9.1.7 64 bit and it opened fine in the 32bit bridge.
