G4 MX440-VTD8X Stats

Using a MSI k7t Turbo Limited Edition i spent hours trying to find out about the mx440:
Windows 2000 Pro: neither video in or out work
Windows Xp Pro: Capture works but not output

It usually take a bit when oppening overlay tab, because it checks if there is any overlay working. To make any change to the overlay settings, you should open any program that uses overlays (vg. TV software, Media Player with any movie,...). If not, all the overlay settings will be disabled.
About the dealy when oppening the OpenGL tab, I have no idea... take a look at http://www.guru3d.com, and download "detonator destroyer" (or something like this), and make a heavy uninstall of detonator drivers, then reinstall them, and try again

  • What is the size of capture window for MX440-VTD8X?

I am trying to figure out how best to resize video I have captured with my MX440-VTD8X. For the application I am using (AVISynth) I need to calculate the PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), for this I need to know the size of the capture window for my video capture card.
I think that this card uses a Philps SAA-7114H, although I cannot be certain as MSI don't seem to publish this fact anywhere. (I found a few references to the 7114 via Google so that is the best lead I have had so far).
Anyway, even if I knew it used a 7114H that doesn't much help as I can't find any published data that tells me what the capture window (in microseconds) is for this card. The WDM driver might modify the window so how, so I can't just look it up in the datasheet for the 7114H.
I am looking for figures for the capture window for both PAL and NTSC,
    could someone please help?
    many thanks,
    Kevin

To quote from the article I have been using which gives step-by-step instructions on how to calculate to aspect ratio ..
(Pixel Aspect Ratio, Source Aspect Ratio and Target Aspect Ratio)
"To determine your source PAR, you first have to know what the aspect ratio of the capture window of your capture device is. This capture window is fixed, but again it is rarely exactly 4:3. The device always digitizes the same area of your video and resizes it to the size you set in your capture application. The raw captured height is always 480 lines for NTSC and 576 for PAL. The width of the capture window has to be determined. A table with known values (and a more elaborate explanation) can be found in section 5.4. A method for determining this value yourself can be found in chapter 11.
Once you know the capture window width, the Image Aspect Ratio of your device can be calculated as:
    PAL IAR = (4 / 3) * ([window width in µs] / 52.0 µs) / (576/576)
    NTSC IAR = (4 / 3) * ([window width in µs] / 52.6555 µs) / (480/486) "
The 'window width' is given for some capture cards in the guide, but unfortunately not the MSI one I am using, and the 'window width' does vary from one type of capture card to another.
Without this information I am at a brick wall. There is a method to determine the window by using a PAL DVD player as the source video, playing some test image, the problem is that I only have an NTSC DVD player so I can't use that technique,
this is something that the manufacturer must know, but unfortunately they rarely publish it,

  • HT4623 Netflix vga video out

I'm trying to watch Netflix on my projector but it says it don't support it so I need the Netflix 1.0.2 version but I don't know how to download it because it came out in 2010

This is correct....on the MX440, if you are running a single analog monitor, DO NOT connect it to the analog port, use the supplied digital-to-analog converter that was supplied with the board and connect your analog monitor to the digital port.  Using this configuration allows the the TV-out functionality of the VIVO 4-port adapter to work much better.
I have a new G4 MX440 VTD8X and had the same issue described here....the TV could not be detected by the video card when connected via RCA jacks (S-video worked, but the CLONE option was never present).  I moved my primary monitor from the analog to the digital port, and viola, the TV out functions perfectly now.
I don't know why this is, but I spent the better part of several hours downloading drivers, trying BIOS updates, and traversing the forums....to no avail.  I finally found the above workaround (not really a fix) to allow tv-out to function, and so I'm posting it to every thread with an MX440 experiencing TV-out recognition problems.

  • Geforce4 Ti4200: when capturing video, how do I change the screen size

I'm capturing video from my vcr, but the video doesn't fully fit the recording area.
How can I stretch the video so there are no borders around the image?
I see no way of doing this in the video options and I have the latest drivers.
    -Thanks

This problem may occuer if card do not automatically swithes between NTSC and PAL. I have to switch it manually using WinProducer, then captur with VirtualDub.
I'm looking for small soft switcher for NTSC/PAL (mx440 vtd8x). If anyone has - please notify.

  • MS-8888 TV out problem

     ;( I bought this year KT4V and MS-8888 (MX440 TD8X)
and I instaled W2K. I have a problem with TV out. I switch inch conector to TV and VGA card and nothing.
I installed new update for VGA and new detonator 40.71 and others and nothing. I don´t know why I have´t free option for TV (this is still gray, not black).
    Please hepl.
    Thanks.

A previous poster (in a different thread) found that if the video card has both analog and digital monitor outputs, then for TV-out to function properly with the VIVO 4-port adapater, you need to connect your analog monitor to the digital output using the supplied digital-to-analog converter.

  • GeForce4MX440 VTP8X Tv-Out problem

    I've recently bougth a GeForce4Mx440 VTP8X and I'm not able to make Tv-Out work.
I try with MSI ver31 drivers and 5 differents version of Nvidia drivers, on 3 differents pc's on 2 OS (Win98SE, WinXP).
    The problem is the following:
I can't use NView function and I can't select tv-out! I'm unable to see something on tv. I know that all cables are good, because I have another card with tv-out function and it works.
    Any clue?
    Thanks

    widlan,
Did you load all the Drivers along with the Patch for WinProducer?
    MX440-VTD8X
Make sure you loaded the second half of WinProducer, WinCoder, so you can output.
    Good Luck,

  • MSI GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP 8X - No Dual Display?

Hello! I have just purchased the MSI MX440-VTD8X  based on GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP 8X. I have the latest drivers and everything but I’m unable to enable the clone option to have pictures on both my monitor and my TV. The option is grayed out. The TV connection is correctly connected. I can choose my TV as the primary display, it’s just that I cannot have dual display! Isn’t my card supposed to have this option? Here is a pic:

I am wanting to switch my workstation from Windows 2000 to Linux Mandrake 9.0. Anyone tell me if all of the TV in/out and dual display stuff will work under Mandrake 9? It is the GeForce 4 MX 440 with the dual VGA out and the s-video input/output connections. The main concern is the dual display. Let me know at [email protected] or post here. Thanks for the help!

  • New PSU ??

I just rebuilt my pc and after reading the fourm for a while I started wondering if I should consider picking up a new PSU. All works great as is, no problems, (knock on wood) not even the CRC error problem listed here with allot of KT4VL that others are having.
Here is the catch, I am going to add two new case fans, one 80MM cooler master for exhaust and one 60mm for intake which will make for three fans ( one came with case, in the front of course ). I bought this case two years ago and it is a pretty nice one and came with a 300W HiPro PSU. If I am only going to add the two additional fans should I consider adding a new 400W PSU?

    Hi,
Fans take somewhere between 1.5-2.5 W, so you have to add a lot to get into trouble.....
When you use like 20 or more of them, you might consider it :D

  • MSI 3D TURBO EXPERIENCE Doesn't Work

I was told that I could read my GPU tempertures with this program that I got with my MSI Geforce 4 4400. I installed the program but the window closes after about two seconds and it says that the temperature is 0. Anybody with this program know how to fix this? Thanks.

It appears my suspicions were partly correct.
