G4 not starting up/loading

Hi all
Would appreciate some help from the experts out there.
I gave my daughter my old G4 when I bought a MBP. Has been working fine until she inserted a CD that got stuck. While the CD was stuck the G4 would not get passed the 'flower". I assumed that was because the G4 was trying to read from the CD. Looking through the posts on here I found the "Stuck CD" post and carried out the procedure as the note said and the CD ejected. Wonderful.
On trying to switch on again I get the Apple and the Flower and nothing but the Apple and Flower. I have tried resetting the PRAM and doing a Safe boot to no avail. I still get just the Apple and the Flower.
I am thinking of trying to reboot from the Install Disks but am nervous they might get stuck too.
Anyone know of another method or key sequence that might help, or should I just bite the bullet and try the Install disks?

You can reset the Power Management Unit (PMU) which can prevent startup if it becomes scrambled: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431 .

Applications not starting or loading

Seems odd my safari, mail adobe reader apps do not open at all. The mail icon will jump up but will not load anything. Any ideas. Seems strange mostly apple apps. Is there an app or something that opens these and is not working.

It does the same thing even in a brand new user account?
Try rebuilding the Launch Services database. You can do that by opening Terminal and copying and pasting these three lines all at the same time, and then pressing return:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/\
Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister \
-kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
You could also give your system a thorough hosing down. Try downloading OnyX and running all of the maintenance and cleaning tasks.

K9N2 SLI Platinum nForce 750a AM2+ Windows will not start after loading drivers

Unit started and ran fine after initial Windows XP load.
After loading NVIDIA drivers (supplied with motherboard) unit boots up, shows Windows splash screen, but then screen goes black. Unit continues to run with black screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE:
I started Windows in Safe Mode and uninstalled the NVIDIA video drivers. Windows start up fine now, but I still need to work on getting the correct video drivers installed. I'll post my results later.

Scanner HP Director does not start after loading Elements 8

Since I loaded Elements 8, I cannot open my HP Scanner
Director, but can still scan or copy by using the buttons on the front of the scanner.
It appeas that Elements has "married" itself to my scanner.
Does anyone know a remedy?

I understand that you got 2 Windows updates, during the installation of the second one the computer froze. After 1 hour you removed the battery and reinstalled it.
Now when you try to power it on you get a blank or black screen with no error messages. The wireless light is lit for about 30 seconds before it powers itself down.
There has been some Windows updates that have been causing an issue.
Would you boot into Safe Mode and uninstall these updates.
KB2982791, KB2970228, KB2975719 and KB2975331.
The other one that is suspected of causing this issue is the "Search Protect" software.
If you check under programs and it is listed, please uninstall it.

IPod service manager will not start after installing iTunes 10

iPod service manger will not start after loading iTunes 10. iPhone will not connect. I've removed reinstalled, wiped the registry reinstalled and deauthorized, removed and reinstalled from several different downloads. I have full permissions fo rservices and am administrator.. We now have three other units in teh office with the same issue.
now what do I do?

Don't know about fixing PitStop. However, have you tried a simple repair on Acrobat. If Acrobat won't open you can do that from the Programs and Features menu (Add/Remove Programs in OS prior to Win7).

Hi,
You are right, JSPM will not start with server0 down. And server0 will not come up with SAP JVM not updated.
Perhaps you could try a manual update of the SAP JVM as mentioned in the thread:
SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NW CE 7.1 - java doesn't start after updating jvm

On my registered iTunes computer, the following message appears every time one plugs in a device and refuses to load said device to be synced: "This iPod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". Each device has been registered onto this account and this computer, and all have worked finely in the past. I am so confused as to why now seemingly without reason, none of our apple devices (one iPod, two iPhones) are allowed to have music and other material downloaded onto them. Also, as a side note, they still are charged by plugging them into the computer, however they do not even show up on the left-hand sidebar in iTunes.
It should also be noted that for my iPhone it does not allow for the new update software to be uploaded; it just says that an error has occurred, nothing more.

<sql:param value="${userid}" />I would recommend you not to do database connectivity stuff in JSP, JSPs are the view layer of an application and they aren't supposed to be for doing business logic. Also since you are using a random userid, you might end up with multiple users with the same ID and IDs are generally supposed to be unique...

The system was running fine for about two weeks and now the dispatcher will not start, we have upgraded the java server from windows 2003 to windows 7 and i did a system copy using the sapinst tool. This is a java only server using ABAP ume to connect.
Hers is the errors i am receiving:

Not much investigation can be done with:
Loading: ThreadManager returned false!
Kernel not loaded. System halted.
Just retrigger a server restart and then check the below logs. You will definitely find more information on the error:
/usr/sap/<SID>/work/ dev, std and jvm*
and
/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<nr>/j2ee/cluster/server0/logs/default trace (latest).

iMac will not start following OS X 10.9.4 update - takes 30 minutes to load with spinning wheel and progress bar and then when it appears to be finished it powers off?

Thanks for the suggestion - this was the 1st thing I tried but it does not appear to work either. I'm still getting the 30 minute spinning wheel and slow moving progress bar on a grey background - even if I try to start the iMac in 'safe' mode!
