G4 shuts down when trying to sleep or restart
Hello,
I've looked around on the forums but can't find the same problem as mine. When I try putting my G4 to sleep, it powers off right away. Same thing when trying to restart, it just shuts down. If it hasn't been on too long, I can press the power button and it will start. If it has been on a while, I have to wait 15 minutes or so until the power button will work. I tried replacing the PRAM battery and resetting the PRAM.
I'm running 10.4.11. Gigabit ethernet G4 running a single Sonnet 1.8Ghz, with 1.5GB RAM. Boot ROM 4.2.8f1. I have two hard drives, one 120GB and one 160GB. Haven't changed any hardware recently.
Is my power supply going bad? I replaced it about 3 1/2 years ago.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Boot in Safe Mode. See What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? (Mac OS X)

Takes a while to run, but it usually "fixes" problems.

Palm Desktop shuts down when trying to view calendar by month
I'm using a Palm TX with the latest edition of Desktop installed (I think that's 6.2). Everything is normal except, suddenly, I cannot view my calendar in monthly view. Daily, weekly and yearly all work fine. Desktop shuts down when trying to view in monthly view. I did a system restart, a Desktop reinstallation, a download of the latest version and installation of that version and, finally, uninstallment of the existing Desktop, download of the newest version and installation of that version. Nothing seems to enable me to view the calendar in monthly view. This is a spontaneous event. I've been running Desktop on a Vista Ultimate system since February without incident. I have no idea about how to solve this.
Thanks
Post relates to: Palm TXWell, here's where we are now. It's a good thing that I have desktop on my office computer because when I tried a Hotsynch with my home desktop, Hotsynch wiped out all the data on my handheld and then hung up both the handheld and desktop in the middle of the Hotsynch. I'm going to overwrite the entire handheld with the office desktop file. As for the home setup, I'm thinking the only thing I can do now is uninstall Palm and wipe out the entire directory of files. Am I correct about this? Do I need to do a clean uninstall?

</Event>The first error has nothing to do with Photoshop - that's some .NET application.
The second error is most likely connected to a third party plugin or driver.
And you're running Photoshop CC (14.x) instead of the current Photoshop CC 2014 (15.x). -

CS4 Products shutting down when trying to print
Has anyone had a problem with CS4 shutting down when trying to print
Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details. We know nothing about your system, your printer, your print settings or for that matter from which CS4 app you are actually trying to print.

Soundtrack Pro Shuts down when trying to fix analized Action
Soundtrack Pro Shuts down when trying to fix analized Action
Thanks, I'll have to give that a try if there isn't an easier answer out there somewhere. If I pull the card will I have to reload the software and drivers?
If my project is saved and I have a copy of the project saved will I be able to reload Adobe without losing anything? What I mean is will I be able to just import my whole project once reloaded?
I just don't understand what could have happened, since I was doing this with no problem a couple of days ago.
Thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated.

ITunes shuts down when trying to play video
My iTunes software shuts down when I try to play a video from my iTunes Library or from the iTunes Store site. I have backed up the library and have tried to reinstall iTunes, but when I did the entire library reappeared and the same problem exists. My Quicktime does work and iDVD, too, with home movies, other online streaming and DVDs, So I'm sure that the problem is with iTunes.

Why is iChat shutting down when trying to video-conference with Windows?
My friend and I are trying to video-conference.
I use an iBook G4, with an iSight.
My friend uses a HP Pavilion ZV5000.
For some reason, my iChat shuts down when it's connecting.
It'll connect for one second and then, my iChat will close.
I don't see what's wrong :(!
Help me, please!
iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8)Hi Bill,
Yes I saw that kellyRAWR mentioned that they were using AIM.
And Tony explained about the AIM 5.9 issue.
I was merely offering another option that she may not know about, since the AIM->iChat is flaky at best.

Mail Shuts Down when trying to Open Email with movie
Just recently Mail is shutting down when I try to open an email with attached movie. When I mail again, the email is still there with the blue dot.
I found one document suggesting a Java..Cocoa plug in may be the culprit but no luck.
Any ideas?
Any assistance very much appreciated.Am I the only one having troubles with Apple Mail?
As I said, when I go to open an email that has a movie (.wmv) attached it shuts mail down. Must be a record if I am the only one encountering this problem.
Any one? Any ideas? -

Until a few weeks ago I have never had a problem opening more than one pdf at a time. Now Reader just shuts down when I try to do so. The same thing happens when I click on the yellow highlighted categories in settings. All the other categories open fine.
Appreciate the help of anyone who can help me solve this.I guess you didn't know, but yes you can close more than one app at a time. You can close up to 3 apps at a time in the new IOS7 on the iPhone. Try opening at least 3 apps and then double click the main button to see what apps are opened. Then swipe to the left to see the three of them on your screen. Your not gonna see the ones on the side entirely but you can still put all three fingers on them, then simply swipe them up and it closes them up.
The thing is, when you have let say 10 apps open, and you start using this trick, some of them will stay open meaning you swiped them up to close them down but the bottom icon stays there. When you come back to your main IOS desktop and then go back to close the programs that you have opened, you can see that those apps are still opened. There is only like 2 or three out of all the 10 you had opened that stayed open, but none the less it's a bug in the system I presume.
You also asked about the icon at the bottom. When you are seeing what apps are opened, there is always a small icon at the bottom and on top you have a representation of what you were working on, and that is the part you swipe up. But often time the bottom icon will stay opened after swiping 2 or 3 of the apps to close them. -
