G4 Tower install, missing iLife application

I have no idea where iLife. How and where do I look? I went from OS X to OS X v10.4.

iLife is not included with the OS. It will either be on the the discs that came with your computer or on separately purchased iLife discs.

  • Archive and Install misses-Some-applications ( ? )

Amidst two efforts of Archiving and reinstalling I have been amazed at two consistencies . One is that the routinely running iTunes , i.e. working like a Swiss Clock , disappears and the Address Book remains among the missing .
The missing Address Book is the reason for the flurry of Archiving and Installing , so I am inclined to accept that as less surprising that it remains unusable . However , thanks to a stand alone down load , I can recover my iTunes application from Apple Computer .
This somehow strikes me as odd that an other wise happy Operating System will Ostracise first an Address Book then Strike another application after being "Restored" .
What gremlins pursue in my Address Book remains a secret , but by piling Mount Ossa on top of Olympus , then Mount Pelion on top of Ossa , so to speak , What can the meaning of my Archive and install twice removing iTunes be ?
Having purchased Pacifist I had entertained high hopes that this parsing of the install Disc would provide a substantive fix in replacing the "Missing" applications . I say "Missing" because they are right there according to my lying eyes and Get Info .
All ideas entertained until the cows come home , Frederick

In the interest of saving space, can I trash the app folder from my previous system?
    Yes.
What else can I safely trash from the previous system without compromising my data?
Anything which was reinstalled. That folder is left there partially so that any files you may have added to the previous system can be restored.

  • How can I do a clean install of Snow Leopard with out losing iLife applications?

I bought my Macbook pro in 2009 and am currently running the Leopard software. I want to do a clean install of Snow Leopard, but I do not want to lose my iLife applications.  I lost the DVD's that came with the computer. Is there any way I can do a clean install of Snow Leopard with out losing my iLife applications?
Will a regular installation of Snow Leopard allow the App store to recognize that my computer has iLife and mark it as a purchased item in my account. If it can, then would I be able to do a clean install and re-download the apps for free.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    1. Install Snow Leopard normally; this will keep the applications intact. An actual clean installation involves either erasing the partition or creating a blank one, and neither of those will carry the applications over.
    2. The previous iLife installation won't carry over to the Mac App Store, and the Mac App Store versions are incompatible with Snow Leopard.

You probably need to either uninstall and reinstall itunes or to download the apple application support by itself
you can download the itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/ here
then to do a complete uninstall / reinstall follow these instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
you could also use 7zip to extract the individual installer for apple application support from the itunes setup file http://www.7-zip.org

  • I had to reinstall my software but now I am missing some applications like garage band

I had to reinstall my software but now I am missing some applications like garage band

GarageBand, iMovie and iPhoto aren't included with OS X, so it's normal that you haven't got them after reinstalling Mac OS X.
If your iMac didn't come with DVDs, open the App Store, go to Purchases and download iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand free of charge.
If your iMac came with DVDs or you didn't purchase the iLife apps at the Mac App Store, insert the second Mac OS X disc or Applications disc and install the iLife apps. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version.
Respecting to third-party applications, you have to reinstall them manually

  • I am missing iLife on my new MBP, how do I get it?

I purchased my MBP just over ten days ago, I noticed that I am missing "iLife". In an attempt to re-install it through the app store, my account was charged $14.99 for an application I should already have. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue??
    Cheers,

See if you can extract it from the restore partition with http://www.charlessoft.com/ 's Pacifist. If not, it appears that Apple now is saying you have to purchase iLife if you didn't clone backup your pre bundled software when you first received your Mac, and lose the applications since the only mention of iLife on the restore directions link below is the one on the Mac App Store:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
Contact the App Store billing http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact.html?form=account And explain to them your installation had the iLife applications in the first place.   Though remember iDVD was probably not included, since it hasn't been since Lion's release.  iLife '11 on DVD from the regular computer store is the only way to get iDVD, and has been since Lion's release.

  • I am trying to download Adobe reader latest version and when I hit download a bar appears at the top of the screen telling me to install missing plugins but firefox states plugins up to date what can I do?

I am unable to download Adobe reader to update my system as I only have version 7 on my computer. Normally I would be able to download direct from Adobe and my system would update but when I try to download a message bar appears which states on the left hand side "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" and on the right hand side there is a button which states "install missing plugins". When I click on the button a dialog box appears which states "no suitable plugins where found with a message next to a manual install button "unknown plugin(application/getplusplusadobe16299)

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • ILife Applications acting quirky

I've noticed a few problems with my iLife applications. My Garageband application doesn't contain all the loops. (There greyed out. There is an option to download but that never happens.) Also, I was looking for the previous version of iMovie yet that file can't be found. The only reason I'm posting in this section is because when I bought the laptop (new from Best Buy) it was preinstalled with Tiger and came with the Leopard install disk and I wasn't sure if maybe something upgraded wrong that would make iLife not operate properly.
    Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
iLife applications aren't preinstalled on OS X so, after reinstalling OS X when you erase the drive, you have to reinstall them again. As you have a Mid 2011 MacBook Air that came with OS X Lion, you can get iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand apps from the App Store. Just open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and download them for free

My default Oracle JDeveloper 10g Early Access 10.1.3.34.12 is missing "View|Application Navigator" and "View|Connection Navigator" from the View toolbar. Am I simply missing an additional installation or do I not have something configured correctly?

Thanks for the answer, that's exactly what it is. I'm new to this environment and had it installed for me, hence I didn't see the differences at the download choosing time. Thanks again.

    "[ProgramFilesFolder]DeployWebServices\Webservice.lvws"
What did I do wrong? The project example is attached

    Hi,
long time ago, but I can remember. You have to copy a folder.
    e.g. I have the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\2013\LVWS , but there is no LVWS folder in \Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\2012
(I have a new computer, and for some reason I'm also missing the file in the LV2012 folder now.)
Try to copy from another version to 2012 U(or download my fzip). I also don't now, why it is missing. Maybe something during the LV2012 installion was wrong.
    Hope I could help,

  • Do I need to re-install 10.4 applications after installing 10.4 Server?

I have 2 new hard drives I want to put in my G4 MDD. I no longer have my original 10.4 installation disc. I have a Mac OS 10.4 Server installation discs. If I install the SERVER on the fresh blank drive will this also install the entire 10.4 applications??? Or must I get another regular OS 10.4 install disc? BTW the 2 new discs are sata and I have a new PC card and cables for the conversion to sata.

    Hi
Apart from some under the hood differences, the only difference when using the Interface is the addition of a Server folder in the Applications folder. This folder will contain the applications specific to OSX Server:- WorkGroup Manager, Server Admin, System Image Utility etc. None of which you have to use if you don't want to.
Within the Applications folder (Server or Client) - assuming a standard OS Install with no additional iLife - will be all the usual applications - Safari, Mail, iTunes, TextEdit, Stickies, Time Machine and the rest. You'll also see the Utilities folder which will IIRC be the standard one you'd normally see with a client OS.
There's nothing stopping you from installing any other application you would normally install on the client OS and use it exactly as you would on the client OS.

I tried to download the itunes update and at first it would say i was missing msvcr80.dl so I completely uninstalled itunes and its components, then reinstalled it. Now it says I'm missing"Applle Application Support" How do I fix this?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

    Hi,
Appstore icon is missing from applications foler. my mac version is 10.6.8. Can you pleae help on this?

    Hi...
Install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
That will reinstall the App Store for you. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
