G400S Ram memory Support

I´ve bought a lenovo G400S Core I7 and then bought one extra 4GB RAM memory module.
Notebook only recognizes one module of memoy. It seems that second slot is disabled. Anyone know something about memory limits for this notebook?

  • X4 Memory Support on MS-6378 ...

    Hi!
    This mainboard might be old but i'm still using it.
    My mainboard is MS-6378, which is based on VIA Apollo KLE133 chipset for AMD Socket-A CPU.
    I bought this RAM stick that is PC133 512MB SDRAM, double-sided, 16-chips, but it's 64Mx4 IC organization (this is what the dealer told me).
    When i plug this stick into my MS-6378, my system won't boot with beeping sounds.
    I swapped back with my PC133 256MB 32Mx8 IC module and the mainboard works fine!
    Help!
    What is the memory support for this mainboard? Does this board support my 64Mx4 module?

    Supports four memory banks using two 168-pin unbuffered
       DIMM.
    - Supports a maximum memory size of 1GB (256MB DRAM
       technology).
    - Supports 3.3v SDRAM DIMM.
    - NO support ECC Function.

  • Is it possible to install a 8 GB of RAM memory to a late 2008 aluminium macbook?

    Is it possible to install a 8 GB of RAM memory to a late 2008 aluminium macbook?

    Apple's stated maximum is not always the maximum the hardware will support. If the 4GB modules were too expensive when this MacBook was manufactured, then there would be no point in offering 8GB as an option.
    I'm sure there are other explanations also, but all that really matters is that the maximum amount of memory your machine can handle is 8GB.

  • Can I expad RAM memory up to 8GB?

    I bought HP Probook 455 http://laptopy.do2000.pl/produkty-hp-g6v98ea . It has 4GB. Can I expad Ram memory up to 8GB?

    Dear Customer, Welcome to HP Support Forum and we are glad to assist you.  Yes, You may upgrade to 8GB memory Please go through the below information: MEMORY
    Standard
    DDR3L SDRAM (1600 MHz)
    Two SODIMM slots supporting dual-channel memory
    2 GB, 4 GB, and 8 GB SODIMMs
    Maximum
    Upgradeable to 16384 MB with optional 8192 MB SODIMMs in slots 1 and 2
    Dual-channel
    Maximized dual-channel performance requires SODIMMs of the same size and speed in both memory slots. NOTE: Due to the non-industry standard nature of some third-party memory modules, we recommend HP branded memory to ensure compatibility. If you mix memory speeds, the system will perform at the lower memory speed. With Windows Starter 32-bit operating systems, the amount of usable memory is dependent upon your configuration, so that above 3 GB all memory may not be available due to system resource requirements. Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again  **Click the White Thumbs Up Button on the right to say Thanks**Make it easier for other people to find solutions by marking a Reply 'Accept as Solution' if it solves your problem. Thank You,GBL84Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

  • Can I upgrade the ram memory of my Macbook air from 4gb to 8gb?

    Anybody knows if I can upgrade the ram memory of a Macbook Air from 4gb to 8gb?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    The memory in the MacBook Air is soldered onto the logic board, so you can't upgrade RAM after buying your computer. It's important to buy your MacBook Air with the amount of memory you will use because you won't be able to install more RAM

  • Satellite A100-626 - Maximum system memory supported?

    Hi,
    I have a Satellite A100-626 with 2Gb of RAM memory.
    As stated in specs for this model:
    standard : 1,024 (512+512) MB
    maximum expandability : 4,096 MB
    technology : DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)
    expansion module sizes : 256, 512, 1,024 MB
    It says that it can go up to 4Gb, but only shows module sizes up to 1Gb. (maybe 2Gb modules didn't existed at the time).
    Anyone knows or tested if it is possible to install 2 modules of 2Gb or 1 module of 4Gb to reach the maximum expandability of 4Gb?
    Also, does it supports frequency's up to 800MHz? If not, whats the maximum value?
    And at last, does DDR3 work on this model?
    Thanks in advance for the replys.

    Hi
    I found this Toshiba product page:
    [Satellite A100-626|http://pt.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=PT&DISC_MODEL=0 &ACTION=PRINT_WITH_BACK&BV_UseBVCookie=yes&PRODUCT _ID=119571]
    Its a Portuguese Toshiba page because I believe that this notebook model was designed for Portuguese market.
    There you can find a info that its possible to upgrade the RAM to 4GB (2 x 2Gb RAM).
    But note; the 32bit Operating system will be not able to use the full 4GB RAM.
    Just the 6bit OS can use and recognize the full 4GB
    > Also, does it supports frequency's up to 800MHz?
    This depends on the chipset. If the chipset would allows the 800Mhz then the memory module would run at 800Mhz otherwise they would be clocked down.
    > And at last, does DDR3 work on this model?
    No, as far as I know just DDR2 modules are supprted.

  • MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 Memory Support

    Hello, i have a question. Will the Patriot psd34g133381 ram memory work with the MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 motherboard? The Patriot psd34g133381 is not listed as a supported ram memory for the MSI FM2-A75MA-P33 mobo on the official site, but is there any chance that it will still work without any issues with that mobo? Thanks in advance.

     It should be OK. Just because it was not tested doesn't mean it won't work. It's impossible to test all of the RAM available on all of their MBs.

  • Problem with my ram memory

    I got 3 gigs of ram and after some of memory burn I'm able to have only 2 gigs of these ram. But today I try to find why. And after a multiples tests I found that on my riser A the slot 2 is lighting on but I try to put my +riser B+ intead of my +riser A+ at the place of my +riser A+ and the same problem arrive. So, after my test I found it's probably my motherboard but I found my +riser B+ works well and I put these configuration and I found my 3 gigs:
    *_Riser A_*: nothing
    *_Riser B_*:
    Slot 1= 1 gigs
    slot 2= 1 gigs
    Slot 3= 512 mb
    Slot 4= 512 mb
    So my question is: I know that's not the configuration for the ram memory, it's suppose to be:
    *_Riser A_*:
    Slot 1= 1 gigs
    slot 2= 1 gigs
    Slot 3= nothing
    Slot 4= nothing
    *_Riser B_*:
    Slot 1= 512 mb
    slot 2= 512 mb
    Slot 3= nothing
    Slot 4= nothing
    but can I have any problem with my new configuration like my ram memory are not working like they should or anything like this?
    Thank's!

    No, if it is the slot, there is nothing you can do that I know of - I believe the slots are part of the logic board (not sure on a laptop, but they are on an iMac) - to find out, do take it to an Apple store; the Genius Bar advice and diagnosis is free. At least you would know if it is the slot and how much it would cost to repair or replace it. Here is some info that may help:

  • How to Copy a value of a String to the RAM memory?

    Hi there,
    I was wondering how to copy a String into the ram memory (consider you're doing right click on THIS word and choose 'Copy'; the String's Value will be to the ram memory for a later Paste).
    In my application, a user has a table and he right click on it and choose Copy. I get the value of the item (Obj) but face dificulties to add it to RAM.
    my code looks like this:
              if (obj!=null)  //inside I have the value (say: 12345 --< Obj.toString)
                   Action copyAction = TransferHandler.getCopyAction();
                   int id = ActionEvent.ACTION_PERFORMED;
                   String name =  (String) copyAction.getValue(Action.NAME);
                   long l = EventQueue.getMostRecentEventTime();
                   copyAction.actionPerformed(new ActionEvent(XXXXXXX, id, name, l ,0));
                            ///what comes in the XXXXXXX
              }I tried, instead of the XXXXXXX, to put Obj or Obj.toString but...nothing.
    Anyone?

    Thanks,
    should implement ClipboardOwner
    and do this:
                  StringSelection stringSelection = new StringSelection( obj.toString() );
                  Clipboard clipboard = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getSystemClipboard();
                  clipboard.setContents( stringSelection, this );
    @Override
         public void lostOwnership(Clipboard clipboard, Transferable contents)
              //do nothing!

  • HI, I HAVE A MacBook Pro 2.3GHz dual-core Intel i5 AND I WAN'T TO UPGRADE THE HARD DRIVE UP TO 750GB AND ALSO THE RAM MEMORY TO 8GB. WHAT SPECIFIC MODEL OF HARD DRIVE AND RAM MEMORY SHOULD I BUY??? THANKS

    HI, I HAVE A MacBook Pro 2.3GHz dual-core Intel i5 AND I WAN'T TO UPGRADE THE HARD DRIVE UP TO 750GB AND ALSO THE RAM MEMORY TO 8GB. WHAT SPECIFIC MODEL OF HARD DRIVE AND RAM MEMORY SHOULD I BUY??? THANKS

    No need to type in all caps - we HEAR you!
    I would take a look at the internal drives offered by both Crucial (click the link "Internal Hard Drives Now Available") and OWC. I would stay away from Western Digital drives as they seem to have problems on a number of Mac models.
    You can also shop for RAM at Crucial and OWC - just select the System Scanner tab at the Crucial website to find out which memory is right for your machine.
    Good luck,

  • PDA RAM memory usage

    Hi all,
    We have created a PDA application running on <b>SAP Mobile Infrastructure 2.5 Service Pack 18 Patch 1</b> on <b>Windows Mobile 5 </b>and Windows Mobile 2003 SE.
    <b>Problem description:</b>
    The problem is the RAM memory size. For WM 2003 there is no problem because there are enough PDA's with 128 mb RAM size, but the problem is there is no normal PDA running on WM 5 with 128 mb RAM size. There are only devices with 64 mb RAM.
    So we are having some problems with the RAM size, and I want to watch what is in the RAM and I want to see the usage of the RAM easily when I use my application. I can switch to the Settings --> Memory and see the values, but this is not reliable and I only see the usage and not what's in the RAM.
    <b>Questions:</b>
    - Is there a tool to watch the memory and what's in the memory?
    - Can someone give me some information how we can store less in RAM and more in ROM without getting a slower application?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bart Elshout

    hi bart,
    had you tried profiling you application? profiling will help you in looking which
    portion of the code was consuming a lot of RAM and time.
    some common ways to counter heavy application
    1) lazy loading
    this is very effective in a sense that only the classes required for certain
    functionalities are loaded and instantiated. this can be realized by using reflection
    and customized class loaders.
    2) avoid caching smartsync data
    when using smartsync, i don't recommend caching of your syncbo data. the lower
    layer already have a cache (esp fileIO).
    3) avoid rewrapping if possible
    wrapping a syncbo or row into another class will make your class instance bigger.
    and caching the fields in it, again will also consume some RAM.
    that's only for the part of the data. now you have to consider your UI also. are you
    using any UI framework?
    regards
    jo
