G4050 Scanjet Not Seen (Windows 7 Enterprise 64)

I have tried everything stated. I uninstalled and I disabled virus protection when reinstalling. To add extra annoyance, the software scolded me when I tried to uninstall, insistiing that I unplug the scanner. This is the only time the HP software seems to recognize that a scanner is attached.
Running Window 7 Enterprise 64-bit. Downloaded the latest full version of software for this model from HP today in about my tenth attempt at getting this thing working. I can scan using Devices and Printers, where the scanner shows up, so there do not seem to be issues with cables, power, or the scanner itself. It is a software problem.

Gina, have you found a solution yet?
If not, could you be more specific on what is happening? You are trying to access the HP software to run the scanner with but get the message about the imaging device not found, correct? It was working before and now stopped working?
I assume you have tried reinstalling the software several times but you probably havent uninstalled everything first. If a file or registry item is corrupt and not removed, reinstalling will do no good.
Have you tried the HP Scan Doctor to find the problem? If not, try that first.

IF no joy, continue to uninstall.
I like to use Revo Uninstaller (free version) to do this because it will also search for left over files that do not get removed after an uninstall.
Next, go to the registry and look for anything related to the HP scanner software.
DISCLAIMER: If you are not comfortable messing in the registry, then you may want to find someone who can help with this.
Back up the registry first.
Then go to search and type in regedit to select it.
Look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE under Software and look for anything related to the HP scanner and delete it. Close the registry and exit.
Then go to the AppData folder (its a hidden folder) from your User account folder and look inside both the Local and Roaming folders and delete anything related to the HP scanner.
Look inside the Programs folders (both x86 and x64) and again, delete anything leftover related to the software install.
Restart the computer.
This should remove anything leftover that could be corrupted so you can reinstall the software again.

Hello, I'm totally frustrated and have been searching for hours. Please someone help.

Neither Windows (my computer) nor Itunes sees my ipod. Ipod is working fine: did the menu/select thing, cable is good.

I'm completely frustrated, please can someone help me.

I was having the same problem the other day. I'm not sure what it was but I think it has something to do with the i tunes and i pod 1.2 update.
What I did was:
1. Uninstall i tunes
2. Restart my computer
3. pluged my ipod in a slow usb line
4. waited until my pc recognized it in there. It took a little while.
5. re installed i tunes from apple.com
6. waited until i tunes recognized my ipod
7. updated my i pod with my library it took a long time because i was in the slow usb plug.
8. re plugged my ipod into a 2.0 usb line
9. i tunes recognized it.
10. I then updated my ipod to the new 1.2 version
11. The problem started happening again
12 I repeated what I did before and now it is working.
It was very frustrating! I hope it works for you.1

5th Gen IPOD - Won't Sync and Not Seen by Windows

Help!!!
Tried the 5 R's. I have the IPOD in Disk Mode but whilst it will happily charge, it still is not seen by ITunes or Windows Explorer (though is visible inDisk Defragmenter). I have already un-installed and re-installed ITunes etc.
Prior to putting it into Disk Mode the IPOD still had my library on it and owuld happily work.

I run a script in win 7 Enterprise it worked but not in window 8.1

I run a script that hides folders and it worked in window 7 Enterprise, but then when I tried it in window 8.1 it did not work at all. Is there something I am missing ?

Following the suggestion from Thomas, I modified my script. It worked perfectly on my Window 7 Enterprise.Then I just took my flash-memory(where my script reside) and plugged it in my laptop (window 8.1) and started to run the script but it did not hide
the directory I intended to hide, and I did not get any error message either. I also tried to generate directories in different discs ...still it did not work. This Script is the corrected version after the suggestion of Thomas and Michael Taylor:

Bluetooth not seen in Windows

I installed Windows 8.1 through BootCamp and Bluetooth device is not recognized by Windows. I am talking about the new 2015 12' macbook.
It is not seen in the device manager list.

Can you check the version of BC drivers in bootcamp.xml on your USB?

Satellite A - DVD drive not seen by Windows Explorer

THe DVD deive on D is not seen by windows explorer. It used to work but has now disappeared. The dvd hardwars starts up at boot then ceases.
Any ideas anyone?

Try removing the CD/DVD Filters from the Registry.
When CD/DVD related software is installed (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), they install filters into the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.
1) Run Regedit (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3) In the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key, and delete the "LowerFilters" key.
4) Reboot.
If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).

CoCreateInstance returns 0x8007007e (Module could not be found) for the first call only at system startup on Windows 2008 Enterprise SP2

I'm experiencing a problem with CoCreateInstance, where it returns error 0x8007007e.
The code is something like this:

The problems occurs only on a single machine having Windows 2008 Enterprise SP2 installed (it works fine on other machines / OS versions). It happens only during the system startup (this is a Windows Service) and only for the first call of the CoCreateInstance.
The second call always succeeds.
The problem does not occurr when starting the service manually from Services.
I did some investigation using Process Monitor and found that the HKCR\CLSID\[CLSID of MyClass]\LocalServer32!LocalServer32 registry value is accessed before the failure. The registry value exists - it is added by the Windows Installer during
installation.
If I remove the registry value then the CoCreateInstance always succeeds.
I've been trying to lookup for some documentation on HKCR\CLSID\...\LocalServer32!LocalServer32 but haven't found anything useful other than it's a "Windows Installer Entrypoint". I assume that the Windows Installer does some integrity checks when
calling CoCreateInstance for such class and this fails for some reason but currently I fail to find the reason.
Can anyone help finding out what's the root cause of the 0x8007007e error here, please? Any help or tip is much appreciated.

Windows 7 Enterprise - disk not bootable?

I've just recently installed Snow Leopard, and now I'd like to install Windows 7 with Bootcamp. My copy is Windows 7 Enterprise, however the bootcamp installer does not recognize it as a bootable disk. I know this is false, however, because I have used the same CD to install Windows 7 on three other machines, all non-mac.
My problem did not arise with the installation of Snow Leopard - I had tried to install it in the past with Leopard, but ran into the same problem (Installing Vista Enterprise instead). This seems to be a tell-tale sign to me that it is not the program (Bootcamp), but actually the CD... A confusing predicament, since, as I have said, it has worked previously in non-mac machines.
So, my question is this: How do I install my copy of Windows 7?

"Boot Camp" is not really an installer, other than re-partition, and makes it possible when using GPT initialized disks to boot off MBR.
When you get to Windows install you have to delete the FAT32 parition and create NTFS, so it doesn't even create a fully valid partition for you.
Most of the time, this kind of problem can be from -
burning an ISO
optical DVD drive
DVD media itself
I am sure that there a few others with similar iMacs that had trouble, so you aren't entirely alone, but not everyone either

Windows 7 Enterprise is not genuine after installing new hard-drive and cloning the old one

I retired from my job as a university professor two years ago, and they let me keep my laptop computer, which is a Dell Latitude E4300 with Windows 7 Enterprise installed. I do not have any of the original disks for Windows. Recently, the hard-drive began
to fail, so I replaced it with a new one, cloning the old hard-drive onto the new one. Soon after that, a popup window began appearing saying that this computer is not running genuine windows. One important consequence of this is that I can no longer use Windows
Update, so I have concerns about security. If I go to the control panel under “System”, it says windows is activated and gives me the Product ID. I have talked to tech support at Microsoft, and they tell me something along the lines of the following: that
the problem is the new hard-drive is not recognized as being licensed to use this copy of Windows, and that I should post a question on one of the forums asking this: How can I reinstall Windows 7 Enterprise on the new hard-drive? Any assistance will be much
appreciated.
PS I have no idea which forum this should go under, so pretty much just picked one randomly.

Not able to install 11.1.2.2 on windows 7 enterprise 64 bit OS

I am trying install hyperion 11.1.2.2 on windows 7 enterprise 64 bit OS, I have got below errors at starting.
EPMINS-01001: One or more preinstallation checks failed. Correct the errors before continuing with the installation.
Installer Path check... Failed!
EPMINS-01091: Spaces in installer path are not supported
EPMINS-01094: User Account Control is enabled. Installation may lead to unpredictable results and thus will be stopped.
EPMINS-01098: User has to be a member of Administrators group.
Please let me know what could be the issue.

First of all read the support matrix, windows 7 is not supproted for server side components, if you don't want to hit issues stick to a supported OS.
The error messages are telling you the issues.
Do not have spaces in any of the installation path.
Turn off UAC
User should a administrator
Read documentation is useful to.

Open Device manager and expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Right click on Either the High Definition Audio Device if you have the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers and choose "Update Driver Software..."
Click Browse my computer for driver software, then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click "Have Disk..." then Browse to the folder where the drivers were extracted .......\V64 for 64-bit Vista/Win7. Click OK.
Select one of the "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" models in the list, there will be multiple identical entries.
Click Next, and you're done.
I'm not sure which one from the list will work for You.

Windows 8 enterprise update not availaible for windows media player

Hi,i am using windows 8 enterprise 64 bit and didn't find any windows media player so I downloaded the media player from the official Microsoft website and when I try to install it it shows that "WINDOWS UPDATE STANDALONE INSTALLER this update
is not availaible for your computer"
IS THERE ANY SOLUTION TO INSTALL MEDIA PLAYER ON MY WIN8 64BIT ENTERPRISE ????????

You can go to Control Panel> Programs and Feature > Turn windows feature on or off>scroll down to Meida features (expand you will see windows media player), tick then ok.
