G450 Display Driver black screen
Hi all, for a month or two now mostly when I'm browsing the internet my laptop would flash to a black screen for a couple of seconds before displaying a message
and then go back to the internet browser (I use google chrome by the way).
The past week this has happened almost daily, and it's gotten worse, so after the black flashes of screen my internet browser page would appear black, and remains black when I refresh. I would need to start a new tab.
Anyone has a solution to this problem please? I have googled but that's as far as my technology skill goes! =(
Would appreciate any help and thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
If you have the Nvidia GeForce G105M 512MB graphics card, can you try to:

3. Run Windows Update to get the latest patches and fixes (don't install the optional updates).
Let me know if you get any errors,
Cheers

Boot Camp: iMac displays a black screen during installation of Windows 7 - Apple Support
I have followed each of the steps listed in the link above with no success.
Prior to adding the extra drivers I was able to start the Windows install process up to reformatting the "Windows" Bootcamp drive. After that the computer would go through some instal processes and eventually restart. After the restart the screen would go black. The black screen lead me to the Apple Support link above dated March 5 2015. After going through steps listed in the link above, I get an error message stating that the D:\Sources\instal.win. file cannot be located. I am forced to restart the computer at that point and theWindows install process attempts to start again but always ends up at the same point.
Note: I am installing windows 7 Pro from a DVD. I scanned the AutoUnattend.xml file and noticed that it refers to "Windows 7 ULTIMATE" but not "Pro" or any others that I could see. (see below). Could that be part of the issue?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My iPod touch has 'freezed up'. It has displayed a black screen, which appears to be reloading. I've tried to turn it off, I have also charged it; connected it to my MacBook and 'Restored' it. However, nothing has worked. It still appears to be reloading. It is going on 20 hours since the problem started. I have a 32GB iPod touch 3rd Generation.
Have you tried resetting the iPod?
Try this:
Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time.
Hold until the Apple Logo appears. -
After upgrading my iPad will do nothing except refuse to take a charge display a black screen or a battery red line or the occasional apple logo. Have tried soft boot and hard boot and nothing!,!
Hello there, Victoria.
Great job on troubleshooting on your own. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps to review and additional recomendations:
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,
Pedro. -
Power Button Displays a Black Screen
After upgrading to OS X Mavericks, when I press the power button it displays a black screen. I'm assuming this is sleep mode. Before upgrading, pressing the power button would display a window allowing me to choose whether I wanted to restart, shut down, etc. Is there a way to get this functionality back? Is anybody else having this problem?
Thanks. This is a feature of Mavericks. If you hit the power button it puts the system to sleep. If you hold the power button for a couple seconds, it will display the menu that you are looking for. Also, due to the ATX compliant hardware, if you hold the power butto for about 10 seconds, it will hard power off the system without performing a clean shutdown.
I am not aware fo any System Preference setting to change the behavior of the power button under Mavericks. There might be a method to control it via a command line setting, but I haven't spent the time to seach for one once I learned that I can just hold the button down for 2 seconds to get the menu. -
my ipad froze during a upgrade. it might have run out of battery. i brought it with me to work and i'm charging it but it keeps displaying a black screen. it wont even let me power it off.
If it is totally black, all the time, and you can never see anything on the screen, I agree with stef7 - it needs replacing. Is it still under the manufacturer's warranty?
Is the proximity sensor (dot(s) on top of the phone) covered by a case or screen protector? That would make the phone "think" you are holding the phone at your ear to talk, and will turn off the screen to save battery.. -
During call switch off display to black screen
During call suddenly switch off display to black screen. Calling continues normaly , but is not possible finish this , I must switch off and on full iPhone...... And once one problem - I was think, so this is problem cohere with " Show My caller ID " in setting and now I see, so this function is OFF and is not possible switch ON..... Can you help me any ?
When you make a call or get a call, the screen is supposed to turn off when you bring it to your ear (it has proximity sensors that activate when on a call). It does this so your face doesn't touch the screen while active and push a button.
When you pull it away it is supposed to turn back on.
If it doesn't turn back on there are two possible causes. First case is those that buy and use a case for the phone. If you have a case, there is a good chance you are either using an older case (made for first gen iPhone) on a newer iPhone 3G or your case is just poorly designed. Either way, some cases have a habit of covering the sensor thus it cannot tell when you put the phone to your face or pull away.
If you have a cases (especially if an older case on a new iPhone 3G) remove it and see if the problem continues.
The other possible problem is just a bad sensor. So if you are not using a case and having this problem, take unit to an Apple Store for replacement.
My guess is that you are using a case that was made for the 1st Generation iPhone and not the new iPhone 3G (there is a difference...you cannot use an older case on the newer phones).

my apple tv 1st generation appears to have locked up. it constantly now displays only a black screen. No function reset etc from remote use.The led status is constantly blinking orange. I have tried all the manual tips etc but still blank. Any ideas anyone?
Gary.Same/similar thing just happened to me....two days ago or so. Ran fine for months since going from wifi (major problems) to ethernet now.
I hadn't been on atv 1 for a few days and had it powered down. Turned it on and it ran thru the startup video/sequence then did the ole sit on a black screen where you can hear the remote responses (say, if i hit left on the remote - the 'option not available' doink noise is made instead of the usual sound you'd get if you were moving to the left on the menu.....not sure if that description makes sense?
The 'exit' or moving out of a menu 'noise' does sound, as does the enter/moving into a menu noise.
This has happened in the past, but more when i had it set up via wi fi.
Thing is this time i left it sit on the black screen while reading the paper, and after about 5 minutes, the menu screen finally showed up. Everything was really sluggish to start - but it was there. But, then, i reset it to see if the sluggishness would go away, and back to the black screen after the startup video.....and then 5 minutes later, it came up.
Not sure what is going on...but did have the blinking orange light for a while during the issue.
Don't think its an age thing as it did this even when i first purchased it....
Once into a video or music it runs fine (though i did notice that every once in a while with the music playing from my itunes, it would have a second of silence mid song like it paused for a second, and then would resume as if nothing happened.....
Any ideas whats shaking with this? Does this sound similar to your issue or am i in a different ball park. -
Windows 7 Install Problems. After creating USB drive black screen!
So when I use boot camp I create the thumb drive and it downloads the updated drivers and then I create the partition on my single partition.
Once the partition is made boot camp reboots the computer and it goes to a black screen and I can see the thumb drive light loading for a second and then it sits at a black screen and does nothing.
If I reboot again and hold alt it days "boot failure" and to under a bootable drive.
If I create the partition myself and then use boot camp to create the thumb drive then manual boot holding the alt key it shows windows partition and then I boot into windows and it shows the logo for windows and then goes to a blank screen with a cursor and nothing happens.
I am using the ISO of the original DVD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! You might want to visit the Boot Camp forum where the Boot Camp gurus hang out. https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp

I've had boot camp run a setup on my macbook pro, I have a disk from Dell that states "for reinstalling Dell Inspiron and XPS system software". I would not read the disk as I am still looking at the black screen that portrays the Above statement of "No bootable device --insert boot disk and press any key"
my keyboard is inoperable at this point until I could do anything further with the above directions. This was my first time using a Mac and Boot Camp was a setup that I thought would help me become more well aquainted due to my history with windows. Could anyone be of assistance w/ my situation?... I have a disk from Dell that states "for reinstalling Dell Inspiron and XPS system software".
It sounds as if that disk is specifically meant to install the Dell's operating system for that specific computer. It is not a generic Windows installation disk. Microsoft has strict licensing requirements for Windows and I would be surprised if the Dell disk would be useful for anything other than the computer with which it was included.
You need to buy a copy of Windows that is not machine-specific.
I recommend you forget Windows unless you have a pressing need to use it. I can't think of any. -
hello everyone, as I have stated above, I have an Iphone 4G realtively new, just 3 months of use. I've never dropped it, nor got it wet. The problem is that the screen just one day went black and displays the apple logo, when I do the recovery mode everyway possible the screen shows the itunes link but the pc doesn't acknowledge it.. I've tried on many pcs (windows and mac) and none respond because the device is not shown on itunes it just says "driver not found"
please what to do???Call Apple Customer Relations - 1-800-275-2273. Ask politely & firmly that you want to be transferred to Customer Relations. Tell them exactly what you stated in your post.
GOOD LUCK!

IMac wont boot after displaying a black screen and then switching off
Help! My iMac screen suddenly went black, with a huge purple cursor and then a text box with hugely magnified text appeared momentarily and then disapeared, (the text block was just the standard "You are now connected to ...... " the name of our Network ) after some time and nothing happening I quit using the power off button, when I came back after a short while and powered up again now I cant get past the white screen with the Apple logo and the spinning disc? No start up tone either.
Yes, boot from the install disc and then use Disk Utility to repair the drive:
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
