G470 Laptop not charging stuck in 0%

Hi everyone ,
i have a lenovo g470 laptop installed with Win 8
1.laptop is not charging and the battery level is stuck in 2% [AC plugged]
2.battery is not draining as well it's stuck on 0% for more than hour [on battery

Lenovo’s Energy Management interface tool allows user-modification of system settings to make better use of available energy when running mobile versus stationary. Function also allows you to set options for screen brightness, CPU speed and other features which might impact mobile run time. Battery Gauge Reset can only be checked while performing the reset. Battery Gauge Management will not affect the battery but instead increases the life by changing specific settings. The Battery can be used after the Gauge Reset.
As you have performed all the troubleshooting steps and the issue persists. I would strongly suggest you to contact our Technical Support for further Assistance to get the details of the nearest Authorized Service Center to get the issue analyzed.

New laptop not charge battery

I just bought Pro book 440 g1 for 2 day, and now i can not charge the battery.
1. when the laptop power off, the battery led is not light, and not charge ( i see the battery 97% in windows, after 30 minutes, it's still 97%).
2. when i am in windows, the power manage said that "it's pluged in but not charging", and my laptop use AC power not battery.
I've tried:
1. unistall microsoft battery driver and re install the driver but it's not work.
2. try to remove the battery then press power button in 1 minutes, and put the battery in, when i put battery in see the battery led light only once, then plugin in adapter but it's not work.
3. The adapter is woking well.
Please help me! Why the new laptop have problem.

Certainly. Assuming you have being using this PowerBook for some time, I would recommend first backing up any important files to CD, DVD, or external drive, as you will be completely erasing the contents of the hard drive using my method.
The discs that came with your PowerBook should include one labelled something like "PowerBook G4 15-inch and 17-inch Mac OS X Install Disc 1". If you insert this disc into your PowerBook, you will see an application on the disc entitled "Install Mac OS X" (or similar). If you run this program, it will restart your PowerBook and enter the OS X installer.
During the process of going through this installer, at some stage (I can't remember exactly when) a button entitled "Customize" or "Options" will appear. If you click on this, it will give you several options for your new install of OS X - "Upgrade and Install", "Archive and Install", and "Erase and Install".
I don't personally know if the other two would have any effect on your battery issues, as I haven't tried them myself in regard to this particular program. Again, I must stress that if you follow this method you will erase all data from your hard drive during the process, and lose any of your documents etc. I would recommend backing up all of your data prior to trying this as a method. The Apple Store or AppleCare may also be able to offer more information on the Erase & Install method or backing up your data.

I really don't quite understand that. How about a bit of clarity. lets start with proper identification of your notebook. You have mixed up dv7 and the beginning of an Intel CPU identification. that is not a viable identification number. When you remove the battery take a look in the compartment revealed to find the p/n. Post it here please.
When your battery is replaced with another battery in your laptop does it charge? Is the replacement battery a known working battery?
Have you tried the battery check in BIOS or the HP Support Assistant?
Does your notebook boot into Windows with just the power adapter connected?

Laptop not charging. What do I do?

My charging cord seemed to stop working. When I plug it in and connect it to my computer I see a plug symbol inside the batter where it usually shows a charging symbol or the level of charge in the battery. What does a plug symbol in the battery mean? And how do you fixed it so that your laptop will charge? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The plug icon indicates that the battery is charged and that your MacBook Pro is now running on power from your charger rather than the battery.

Why is my laptop not charging?

My mom's laptop will not charge when the cord is plugged in and turns green but then does not go to yellow saying it is charging. Is this a battery issue? or what?

Ugent: DM4-1160us laptop not charging battery when battery completely drained

Hi, all,
I bought it last year and, a month later, I found it does not charge battery when the
battery was completed drained. "completely drained" means when clicking on power on
button, the charging light does not even flash. In such as case, if I plug in the power cord
to charge the battery, the computer will stay in "charging, 0%) forever and the charging
light stays amber and sometimes turns into white later.
Computer can not power up without power cord plugged in. Battery dinostics said battery
is bad and gave an error long error code. HP suppport replaced it with a new battery. But,
I found later the same problem happened again.
Note: the problem only happens when battery is completed drained meaning
the charging light does not flash when trying to turn the computer on.
I suspect the computer itself is defective. Anyone has idea?

Understanding battery charging issues
If the notebook battery is not charging or the notebook does not indicate that the battery is charging, the most likely scenario is that the battery itself is operating correctly, but its power management software may have become corrupt. In order to correct the problem, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the power management software by using the Device Manager. This document will explain how to uninstall and reinstall the ACPI Battery listings in Windows Vista, as well as how to obtain and install updated BIOS files, if needed to correct other battery issues.
Uninstalling and reinstalling power management software in Windows Vista
In order to correct problems with the battery's power management software, follow the steps below.
1. Click Start and type device in the search field, then select Device Manager .
2. Expand the Batteries category.
3. Under the Batteries category, right-click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listing, and select Uninstall .
WARNING: Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.
4. On the Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes .
Alternately, select Action > Scan for hardware changes .
Windows will scan your computer for hardware that doesn't have drivers installed, and will install the drivers needed to manage your battery's power. The notebook should now indicate that the battery is charging.

Msi laptop not charging warranty urgent help!

Hey guys so recently my msi laptop stoppe charging the local repairman told m that the charging circuit has issues or the motherboard so I was wondering would my warranty cover that? I had a problem long before 3 months after I purchased my laptop where I would have chargin issues where when I unplug the laptop and it drops to like 40% and when I plug my charger back in it won't charge back, it takes days for my laptop to start charging again if that makes any sense to you. I didn't think a lot about it because I'm always home so it wasn't really an issue but now it's an issue because my laptop stoppe charging completely it crapped the bed. What I'm wondering is if my warranty can cover the faulty motherboard or motherboard damage or the broken charging circuit. Any help will be appreciated.

T440 laptop not charging on inverter

I didn't see this listed anywhere, and a search didn't yield results.
I live in an RV and use a ThinkPad T440 laptop. When I plug it into the inverter (converts 12V DC to 120V AC, it doesn't seem to charge. I flip the plug around in the outlet with no effect. When another device is plugged into the same inverter/outlet, the other device charges/operates.
Is there a particular type of wave I need, like a pure sine, modified sine, whatever? Or could it be something else?
When I run my generator and plug into outlet then it charges fine, but running a 7 KW generator to charge a laptop seems like a waste on so many levels.
And, I thank everyone for this forum, but can't stand the thought of companies using volunteers as their first line of defence....... ICKY.
On a side note, my old laptop, which had a hard drive failure, is a Thinkpad T420, and it worked fine using same inverter/outlet.
EDIT: While I DO NOT have this particular inverter, it is an example of the device am using for power (when not running generator). Maybe this'll help identify what's wrong and/or what I need.

The quick and dirty solution is probably to get a barrel-to-slim adapter and use your T420 adapter.

Though you might be able to find the same thing nowadays at a saner price.
As for why it doesn't work, maybe the new adapter is just more picky. It's possible warranty will swap it out for a different manufacturer's adapter, but probably not.

Hello I have a problem with my laptop/tablet. The dock keyboard is fully charge but not the tablet. The model is g6q88ua. I just bought it a few months ago. This just happen a day ago. It was charging and the next day it wouldn't turn on. Is not the charger because I trued my charger in another device and it work.
The light stays ornge when the tablet is in dock when I take the tablet off it turns white.
I don't know what to do. Please help

I understand you're experiencing issues charging your Pavilion 13-r010dx Split x2 notebook.
According to the user guide (page 18) the amber light means that notebook is charging. White means the battery is fully charged.
How long have you left the tablet docked with the adapter connected?
Try performing a hard reset on the tablet with it undocked. Press and hold the power button for 8+ seconds to drain the power. It sounds like it could be an issue with the keyboard dock. You can also try fully draining and calibrating the battery:
Dock the tablet and remove the AC adapter.
Press the power button and tap F2 to enter the hardware tests.
Click System Tests.
Click Extensive Test.
Click Loop until error.
Allow the battery to fully discharge while doing the test.
Once this is done, plug in the notebook and let it charge until the power light is white.

Laptop not charging batteries NC6400

I received this laptop as a Christmas gift this past christmas. I was made aware that it was refurbished.
When I frist charged it Inoticed the battery only charged f\or about 1 hour, before the battery light went out, signaling that the battery was completely charged.
When I turned my laptop on, it would only stay on for about 1 hour. Then it would need to be charged again. I figrued it was because the battery was only charged for 1 hour, before being turned on, as opposed to the 8-12 hours that are recommended. So I bought a new battery. Again the same issue. The initial charge only lasts 1 hour. I read somewhere that sometimes laptops don't recognize certain batteries, so they stop charging after a few minutes. So you have to take the battery out, then put it back in to continue charging it.
I bought a 3rd battery & again it stopped charging after 1 hour. So I took it out then put it back in. the charge light didn't come back on.
So I assume now it's not a battery issue, but more of a laptop issue.
I was in a chat with someone and they more or less said that I can have someone look at it for $89. Which I am not going to do.
So any help would be greatly appreciated. (btw the 3rd battery has not been put to use yet. I haven't done anything but charge it.)

The battery life varies depending on what you are doing. If you get 45 minutes to 1.5 hours out of it, then you are in the normal range, IMO.
I was never happy with the battery life in my nc6400.
I really like the PC otherwise. There were two things I thought were lacking...battery life and a firewire port.
The 6930p's battery life is somewhat better, but no where near what they advertise it to be.
You can try it. If the battery is no longer charging at all, calibrating it won't help.
There could also be an issue with the charger.
If there is an issue with the motherboard, it probably came about during your possession, since you stated the batteries used to charge for an hour or so.
As I stated above, never, ever has my nc6400 ever charged for more than an hour and a half, and never has the battery lasted for more than a continuous hour + or - of use.
And that is surfing the web and reading e-mails, etc. Not watching DVD's or streaming videos. Then you are definitely looking at the 45 minute range.

Battery with 27 cycles NOT charging - stuck on 62% with Amperage (mA): 0

Hi All,
I replaced a 312 cycles bulging battery last October with a third party one that has been fine until last night. My son was playing WOW (which was running from his external firewire HDD) and also watching a DVD while running on the battery ONLY. It suddenly shut down with the battery at 62% and now will not run off the battery. When the magsafe charger is connected it starts up OK, but the LED on the plug remains green, and battery info says -

I have searched this part of the forum for possible solutions, and reset the SMC, with no change to the situation. I have not yet tried resetting the PRAM. This morning I was able to try a battery from another MacbookPro, and it started up and ran fine, and the charger when connected went orange and charged correctly. This would seem to confirm that all is OK with my MacbookPro's SMC and that the problem lies with the battery status not now being correctly "seen" by the MacbookPro. I read somewhere in my searches that the battery has its own microchip controller, and so am wondering if the sudden shutdown was due to the battery current capacity being exceeded by the demands of the fully worked processor running WOW, and the external firewire drive plus DVD running - and the software running the battery's controller becoming corrupted. If this was the case, can the battery controller be fixed, "re-booted" or re-installed somehow? Anyway, any advice will be gladly received at this point, even if the news is that my son's actions have now "killed" the battery and its time for another one!

I will follow this course and report their findings.

IPhone 3G will not charge, stuck on "lightning bolt" low battery screen

Yesterday I used my iPhone all day, like normal, until the battery got so low that it died at maybe 10pm. I plugged it into the charger that night, but this morning, all that's on the screen is a big empty battery with a sliver of red and a lightning bolt. If I unplug the charger, it shows an electrical cord + a lightning bolt for about 5 seconds, then it turns off. I've tried multiple cables and multiple power sources (charger, pc), but it will not change.
I was able to get the phone into DFU mode, and I restored it via iTunes normally, but when it rebooted and said "wait for the iphone to show up in itunes to set it up", it just went back to the battery screen and never showed up in iTunes.
Any ideas?

It's weird, but it looks like genuine adapter, with correct labeling and case. I've compared it with another one, and the only difference is that "wings" don't click. Maybe it's a fake.
