G4Ti4400 and MSI 3D! Turbo Exp Question

I just got a G4Ti4400 and Iam trying to figure out how to use that 3D! Turbo Exp. and cant find any docs on it! also the fan speed and tempature gauge dose not seem to be working is there somthing I need to do to get that info in there?

MSI G4 ti cards don't have monitor support only MX.
MSI suck, I did also think that mine 4400 would be with all the features of cheap MX card.
I will stick with company that are not with miss leading information on their product.
Ps
you can run 3dTurbo, I can't because of XP + ASUS mb.
No support from MSI

It appears my suspicions were partly correct.
Evidently there are versions of the GF4 that do not support Hardware Monitoring. If you find any discrepancies, please notify me by PM.

I've already read on this site that it doesn't :( but from the other hand I've heard that some people have those Xp1700+ on the same boards and everythings works fine (with bios ver. 3.6).

The CPU runs at 2.26 at default, was it never that high before?
    My laptop has installed Intel Core2Duo 7350 P http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=36750

    or not?
then after installing the SCM and press the turbo may have about 2.3 GHZ

  • MSI 648 MAx Motherboard question regarding AGP Speed

I have recently bought a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb and installed latest radeon drivers and msi drivers etc.
I have one question. How do I change it from AGP 4X to 8X. When I click on properties and setting, advance, it only shows 4X as max setting. But my motherboard supports 8 Speed and the card is 8 speed so what do I do?
Tried searching forums already but to no avail. Tried looking in BIOS for options but no luck. Any ideas?
    Cheers guys

    Yup.
I fixed my problem. But now that has brought on a new one.
When I installed the latest driver, it would only let me use AGP 4 speed at most. To proove the newest driver was installed, I did a dxdiag and looked for the agp version and found it. When it is the latest driver installed, it only allows 4 speed. So I had to revert back to a middle driver(ie not the very first one and not the most recent). This then brought up the option of 8speed AGP in my ATI SmartGart panel. I was happy with this. But it is not the latest driver and this is now causing Battlefield Vietnam to crash. Continuously. And experience slowdown etc. Which, lets face it, should not be happening.
SO to sum it up, with the latest driver installed, AGP 4 speed is as high as it can go.
But with a middle driver, i can achieve agp 8 speed but my game crashes with this driver.
And to show just how bad SIS are for updating driver, I have to go into device manager, manually find the .inf file for the latest driver and use this to install the latest driver for it to show up as the latest driver in dxdiag.
So who is at fault here? SIS or MSI? What a piece of crap.
EDIT: Would there be any point in flashing the cmos?

  • MX440 problem and MSI support

I am experiencing problems with a new MX440 and cannot resolve it.   I attempted to submit a request via the MSI website, but it never returns a response once the information is submitted.  I sent an email to the support account - no response.  I posted in another thread where other people experienced a similar problem (MSI Clock).  The only resolution (in that thread) was to install Win98.
What do I do?  I think my only option is to return the card and NEVER buy another MSI product for myself or a customer.   Does anyone have any other suggestions?
    Problems:
    1. Most games will not play properly, or will only play for a few minutes.  Including the games provided with the card.  "No One Lives Forever" flickers really bad and locks up (or blue screens).  Similar behavior with Giants, Diablo II, et al.
    2. The "MS Information" and "MSI Clock" Display Properties crash the control panel application with the following error:  "An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel File c:\winnt\system32\desk.cpl".  I am not able to view or modify these settings.
    3. Live Update Fails with a VBIOS.DLL failure.
    4. 3D Turbo crashes the IE 5.5 window when started.
I upgraded the bios on both the MB and video card. I installed the latest drivers for the video card.  I've tried every combination of scan rate, screen resolution and 16/32 bit.  I prayed.
It's only the 3d apps or apps that are video intensive that have a problem.   All other applications work great.
    My Configuration:
    ASUS P4S333 Motherboard Rev 1.xx (Award Medallion V6.0 BIOS - revision 1006C - 4/19/2002)
    300W power supply
    Intel P4 1.7GHz
    256 MB SDRAM
    MSI MX440-T AGP (PCI Mode) Bios V4.17.00.24 / nv4_disp.dll v6.13.10.300
ViewSonic GS771 Monitor running at 1152x864 32 bit 60H scan rate
Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live 5.1 sound card
    Windows 2000 Professional
    DirectX 8.1

    Hi ,
It seems I have the same problem than you; in addition I also have a ASUS P4S333 motherboard; running XP Pro.
Well my problem is really with 3D games, all of them, even those distributed with the graphic card. I am trying to get help from MSI and ASUS on that problem; before going back to the shop for getting a replacement card to test it will change something or getting a new card.
what I have tried is NOT installing MSI drivers since it adds some option in the display menu and constantly crash it when they are selected (MSI info and MSI clock)., got driver directly from MSI from 27.xx to 30.xx, try them all with "no one lives forever" and Medal of Honor with always the same results....freezing screen after 5-30 minutes of games.
I was wondering of a fan problem, that the GPU will get too hot , and you will get the typical freezing bug; however, if the image remains frozen (almost, because it is still working, but it is really slowwwwwwwwwww.), the sound is still playing properly, so the CPU is OK; it seems to be hardware GPU problem....
    Did you solve your problem??
if yes what was the solution
Thanks in advance for your answer
    Eric

  • No MSI info and MSI clock speed flags in display properties

My problem is really curious. Several days ago I bought new harddrive and made clear instalation of Win98 SE. After that I installed VIA 4 in 1, on-board audio drivers, the new DirectX and then DetonatorXP drivers for my G4 Ti 4600. My problem is that in display properties I miss two flags descrabing my nVidia card - MSI information and MSI clock. System has detected card correctly. In advanced display properties I can adjust OpenGL and Direct 3D settings, AA settings, etc.
My system is stable in every game and benchmarks, so it means that card works correctly. Powerstrip detects core and memory speeds correctly, under adapter options in this program I see 128 MB video memory, AGP 4x enabled, fastwrites enabled - everything is correct.
But in display properties I do not see MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Why ??? I have also reinstalled VIA 4 in 1 and Detonator XP drivers - it did not help.
Before byuing my new harddrive (80 GB Seagate,7200rpm) I had 30 GB IBM,5400rpm. Windows 98 SE installed on this harddrive detects card correctly too including MSI information and MSI clock speed flags. Now I miss it. Any idea ???
On both harddrives I have installed DetonatorXP 29.42 then I have updated to 30.82
    My system:
    MSI K7T Turbo 6330 3.0
    1,33 GHz Athlon T-bird
    512 MBRAM
    G4 Ti 4600
    80 GB Seagate BarracudaIV 7200rpm
    Win98 SE

I installed the MSI Drivers from the MSI cd. All ok but the clock and info tabs were missing. I upgraded the driver from msi site to 3000 and no tabs.
     X(
Before the GF4 i had a gf2 and i realized i forgot to uninstall the nvidia drivers before installing the new card's drivers. I uninstalled them and reinstalled the msi driver 3000. But no clock nor info tabs.
Can someone help me? Are those tabs needed?
I'm using xp pro, intel p4 1.8 on motherboard intel d850md, 1gb ram.
Also the 3d turbo experience gives me msivga.ocx initialization error.
    Thanxs.

  • Msi ge60 Turbo button!

Hi, i got this laptop and i have it for one month now, i i do not really know how the turbo button works.
When does it put on (blue)?
    Why does it put on?
Can i put it on manually, can i put it off manually?
    Really what is its job?
    thanks!

The MSI GE60 Turbo button has only one function: to open a favorite program chosen by you. You will need to have SCM or S-Bar installed to be able to use this.
The MSI GE60 Turbo button light has a different function. If it illuminates, it will indicate that the GTX660M, this is the powerful discrete graphics card, has taken over for an application or game.

  • P35 Platinum and MSI 8600 GT problem

I have a problem with the computer locking up. It will do it on certain web sites, clicking around in Media player and other programs. I tried everything I could think of. Finally I Got an 8400 video card locally and everything is fine. My question is, since the 8600 GT gets all of it's power from the PCIE slot could it be a voltage problem? If so, I see no way of increasing the PCIE voltage in the bios for this MB.
Any ideas before I send this card back?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Core2Duo 6850
    2 gig Corsair XMS2 6400C4D Dominator Memory
OCZ Stealth X Stream 600 Watt Powersupply

It locked up with default bios settings and no overclocking. I didn't overclock the video card at all. I tried everything. Since I put in a temporary 8400GTS I have the processor overclocked to 3.3gig and everything is fine. Could the 8400 need less power than the 8600GT and if so is there a way to increase the voltage on the 16X PCIE slot? This is a MSI MB and MSI Video card so I would expect them to work together.

  • The Newbie, the dragon, and MSI...

As the title mentions (vaguely) I'm new to PC building, and I have a Soyo KT333 Dragon Ultra. I'm looking for a good video card and MSI's TI4400 caught my eye. The price range is right (190 w/shipping at Newegg) and the reviews I read looked pretty solid.
Here's my problem. When I got my mobo I didn't realize that while Soyo makes pretty decent boards, they are REALLY picky with the components you place in them. My question is, does anyone have any information pertaining to MSI cards paired with Soyo mobo's?
Actually I have 2 questions now that I'm thinkin of it. I have read a few of the posts HERE and found that there are those that have had heat and/or chipset problems (not really sure which) with the MSI GF4 TI4400. Is this simply a small percentage of ppl who own this card being that this is a forum, or are the majority of these cards proven faulty?
As previously stated I'm ENTIRELY new to this field and I'd hate to be putting my pretty little box together then have to RMA a faulty video card. Being that this is my first experiance I'm looking for the fewest possible complications (though I'll hit several I'm sure). ANY help would be great! Thanx!

For the price of the card, I think I have every right to expect that.
    DeathStalker wrote:
Humm.... If you do not like the card, do by all means go get another one. If you have an issue with drivers, go get the new nVidia Drivers. Either the 40.41 or the 40.52. They are both an excellent set of drivers.
There are plenty of reviews on the MSI GF4Ti4600. You might want to read them.
Perhaps, it wasn't clear in my earlier posting, I already own the MSI GF4 4600.
At the time of my earlier posting, I had already addressed all issues I had with the card and it is running quite well now.  Like I stated in my earlier posting, the card is excellent performer, once you find the right drivers and software for it.
The reason I don't recommend the MSI to my customers and friends is because of their (MSI) drivers and video software.
Perhaps you are used to dealing with PC techs, PC gamers and PC aficionados who live to tweak their systems performance to the absolute max.  Most of my customers do not share that same level of commitment.  To them, the card and ALL  its features should work well right out of the box.  My customers are not just gamers who don't care if all the features on their cards work or not.  Many want high end cards for video recording and digital photography work, training and business presentation purposes etc.  They want to spend their time doing work, not tweaking their systems
You get this great presentation when you buy the card, features, connectors and lots of bundled software.  Then they shoot themselves in both feet by providing shotty drivers and video software.
If MSI would pay as much attention to developing their drivers and video software as they do to the manufacture of the cards themselves,  then I would recommend the MSI as the best high end video and TV cards on the market.
Come on MSI, you have well made products.  Now it is time to follow-up with WELL written drivers and software.

  • Problem with MSI Board and MSI Geforce 4 with Windows XP

    I have a MSI 845E Max(MS-6566E)
                  MSI Geforce 4 - 420
                  Celeron 1.7 gig
                  Soundblaster Live
                  2 Network Cards
                  and the usual stuff.
I have loaded Windows 98 on my system and it works fine. But then I load Windows XP on and the system starts rebooting. After it reboots my video resets itself and I have to load it back in. I will then reboot and sometimes it will work, sometimes it will not. I try playing a game or even searching the net for awhile, but out of the blue the system will give a very quick blue screen and reboot. And of course when it boots up the video is reset. I loaded all the drivers I could find on MSI's website and used every video driver made by Nvidia and MSI. If I do a Windows XP update to my system the computer will not even boot up. it will just keep rebooting when it is trying to bring up the login screen.  Anyone else run into this with Windows XP?

My system sometime freezes. Why ???

If you know the primary email linked to the account but do not have access to it or the answers to the security questions, then the next best thing to do is call Apple at 800-275-2273 and ask for Account Security.  They will ask you for two pieces of information from the account in order to unlock it.  The options are usually the security questions (each question counts as one piece), the credit card linked to the account, and either a device serial number or device verification code that they will send you.
After this verification is complete they can send the reset link for your password to any email you choose.  Please be aware that if they verify you with something other than two security questions, there is a 24 hour wait before the email arrives.
    Good luck!
