G5 and 37" LCD TV... how?

I have a G5 with a stock GeForce FX5200 card that I want to connect to a Toshiba 37HLV66.
The Toshiba does have a VGA input, but the best it yields is a 4:3 1024x768 image. I want to be able to use the full native resolution (1366x768) of the TV.
I tried connecting them with a DVI-to-HDMI cable, but could not get a proper "fit". IIRC, I was unable to select widescreen resolutions in the display settings of the Mac. I think I did manage to get some warped 4:3 image to show through the HDMI cable.
Anyway, I'd appreciate some advice on this. Do I need a new graphics driver? A new card? Some lower-level tweak to the display settings?

How can you tell if you need to just replace the glass on an ipod 4g or the glass and the LCD screen?

i just broke my ipod touch 4g about a month ago and i think it is just the glass but i am not sure. It cracked and the glass started falling out of the top right corner and today, the white part started cracking. is this just part of the glass or is it part of the LCD screen? I want to figure this out because i dont want to order a repair kit with an LCD screen if i dont have to. thanks in advanced

On the 4G the outer glass and the LCD screen is one bonded unit.

Google a third-party repair shop in your area to replace the screen. Should cost no more than US $50. I would never speed US $149 to do an out of warranty replacement on an iPhone 3G. You be better off purchasing a new/used iPhone 4 or 3GS before spending that kind of money on a 3G. If you can't get it fixed for US $50 or less, sell it for parts.

Accidental or wilful damage is not covered by Apple's standard or extended warranty. AppleCare + does cover this kind of damage for a small fee.
When taking the phone to Apple for repair Apple will not replace the faulty part. They replace the whole phone. However some stores may offer screen replacements.

Sorry, but replacing the LCD screen is no option for the iPhone 4s. This can only be done with the iPhone models 6 and 5.
Apple will replace the whole unit if you are paying the service fee for the other models.

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.

Try quitting all apps then try again.
Quit all apps: Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up for each open app

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing on your iPhone. It sounds like you are not noticing transparency on your iPhone. It may be that you have "Increase Contrast" turned on in your iPhone settings.
I recommend verifying that Increase Contrast is turned off in Settings>General>Accessibility.

Your fan(s) will run at high speed (i.e., loudly) while video is playing, and you can't get around that.
If your fans are not slowing down within 2-4 minutes after CPU- and/or GPU-intensive usage ends, and the application that was showing the video is still running, Quit that application. (In fact, if you're accustomed to Windows, you may not realize that simply closing a Mac application's window does not quit the application. You still need to use the Quit command in the application-name menu. There will always be a bright dot beside or below the application icon in your Dock for each application that is open.) Quit the ones you aren't using, and see whether that allows the fans to slow down without restarting the machine. If that doesn't do the trick, reset the SMC:

What iOS are you currently running?
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
