G5 - Apple doesn't know how to fix it

Hi,
Last April I have some freezing in my G5 and sent it to Apple here in Brazil. To make a long story short, they sent it back to me 4 times, with new motherboard, new processor, new memory and new power supply. None solved the problem.
A few weeks ago they called me "came here and test it before we give it back to you. We think your hard drive was the problem". I went there and in 2 minutes it was freezing again, even not using my hard drives. So last Friday they said they have no idea how to solve, and will put a new motherboard (the 3rd they change!).
There are almost 7 months on that... Every new diagnostic takes 2 or 3 weeks. I'm trying Apple Brazil Support Number (maybe they have some clue...) but nobody answers the phone since Friday...
I'm really worried about it... 7 months without the computer I work with.
If someone has a suggestion in what to do, or who call to solve it, please tell me.

Hello! I'd be inclined to thing either the mouse/keyboard is having problems which "appear" to have frozen it or the guys are using ram from an unreliable supplier. At the point it freezes I'd unhook the keyboard and mouse wait a minute or so and attach a known good one to rule that out. I'd also unhook the dvd/cd drives to rule them out but I'd also ask if they were using a new processor on the new MB's or if they were installing a new board and reattaching the same old processor.     Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, double check the volume button just in case.  If you still can't hear the tones go into your settings>sounds and make sure the options are on.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost      
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings                 
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:                                               
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    Symptoms
    No ringer sound
    Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and select a ringtone. Does the device ring? (YES: Issue resolved) (NO: Go to step 2)
    Go to Settings> General> Reset> Erase All Content and Settings. Warning: This will delete all user data on the device. Verify that you have a backup before proceeding. Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and select a ringtone. Does the device ring? (YES: Issue resolved) (NO: Go to step 3)
    Restore device using latest version of iTunes. Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and select a ringtone. Does the device ring? (YES: Issue resolved) (NO: Contact Apple for service options)

    Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. You might try the steps in the following article regarding iPhone battery charging:

    Specifically:
    Resolving issues
    If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
    Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
    Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
    Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
    If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
    Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
    Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
    Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
    If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
    If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • I just got my dads old iPhone 4. I restored it to factory settings and set it up with my apple id. The albums in my music are fine in iTunes but on my phone the albums are split and each song is its own album. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Everything has downloaded fine but I have had many problems with my music. First it was where my phone didnt recognise my apple id, but I  figured that out. Then it was where iTunes took one of my albums and split it so all the songs where their own albums. I fixed the album split on iTunes but its still like that on my iPhone. I have looked online everywhere and I still haven't found a solution! I'm getting super frustrated! Does anybody know how to fix this?

    No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
    As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

  • My Ipod is frozed on the restore screen (the one with the apple, when you restore it). I don't know how to fix it, my computer says it is corrupt. What do I do?

    I was adding music to my Ipod the other day, from some cds I bought. My ipod randomly crashed, and said it was corrupt, and needed to be restored. So I began the restoration. It restored, said it needed it again! I began to restore it again, and my Ipod froze on the restore screen (where the apple shows). I don't know how to fix this, and I really don't want to buy a new one.

    What happens if you try resetting it while still connected and restoring it one more time in iTunes?  To reset the iPod, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

    Protocol error usually indicates that the very leftmost part of the URL is not recognized.
    So http://, ftp://, rtsp://, usually work.
    ableton:// would need to be added by some software somewhere...

    1) The older version of Bonjour can not be removed. Contact your technical support group.
    Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
    Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
    If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
    Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
    (If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

    RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
