G5 - light flashes 3 times with - but only 1 time without RAM

Hi,
recently I bought a broken Power Mac G5 (M9032LL/A) which won't start anymore,
so now I'm trying to fix it:
When I turn it on the white LED will flash 1 time every 4 seconds while there is no RAM installed.
After installing 2x or 4x KHX3200A/1G (Kingston Hyper X, DDR, 1 GB) the light flashes 3 times. (unfortunately I havn't got any original RAM strips...)
Today I found this:

• 2 Flashes: No RAM is installed or detected.
• 3 Flashes: Incompatible RAM types are installed.
• 4 Flashes: No RAM banks passed memory testing.
• 5 Flashes: No good boot images are detected in the boot ROM (and/or there is a bad
sys config block).
• 6 Flashes: The processor is not usable.
I didn't try the hair dryer trick yet
-> but why is the light flashing once only without any RAM?
Any suggestions?

What I forgot to mention:
One of the end snap-in bracket holders of the upper/inner RAM-slot is broken...
(was already when I bought it)
However - the stick still fits in perfectly.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...

Thanks, After changing my settings in face time per your suggestion, (it needed to be done), I turned off cellular data and data roaming and made a call using face time. It worked! Great way to stay in touch while overseas without the need for those egregious phone data plans.

How to check the current time with a Stored time in string format

I would like to compare the system time with an existing time values which is allready there in String format..
i mean i would like to check if the SysTime is inbetween 6:30 and 14:00
I accomplished this in Oracle ..
Select 'Y' from dual where to_date(to_char(sysdate,'HH24:MI '),'HH24:MI') between to_date('06:30','HH24:MI') and to_date('14:00','HH24:MI')
But instead of checking the DB each and every time , the perfomance would be better if we can do this in our java code..
Could some one provide me with a code to accomplish the above scenario..

On the RAM issue, I fully agree with what Etresoft has written. I have just visited various sites, including OWC, Mactracker and iFixit and your Mac seems to have the Penryn processor. It will address 6GB of RAM which is more than enough for your use.
Where I differ from him, is Lion. The last big cat which I liked was probably Snow Leopard, and thereafter now Yosemite. There has been a lot of successes with your generation migrating to Yosemite, but with 6GB of RAM. Admittedly there were also problems for some, but I have observed even more successes even after initial problems. Mostly these problems were caused by adware or crapware installations. (Thank you Etresoft for a wonderful utility!)
Your iMac also has a SATA interface for a 3GB SSD, which is good enough. We have a Mac here with the same interface, still with a normal conventional stock HD running Yosemite, but only 4GB of RAM and it is running fine.
Of course the newer technology processors, faster RAM, PCI SSD, greater bandwidth on the newer Macs perform much better. But as I am on the older side, (ha ha), some of the 'vintage' Macs are still my favourites to use for certain tasks. Like using 9.09 for doing certain things and then converting the results afterwards for completion!
But, once again, it is your decision and only you can decide as you yourself knows your own circumstances better. Weigh up the options, considering what Etresoft has pointed out vs what Yosemite offers ito continuous support, security and features. There are a lot of your type of iMacs out there, and some of the users spoke about feeling like having a new Mac. There were others, who were wailing though. You could of course, also follow the advice of a test installation on an external and testdrive it, or wait for the release of 10.10.2 which I read somewhere is eminently close?

Issue 1 :- Select the SWF file in library, right click, and
select update.
Issue 2 :- Actually it could be valid for Issue 1 also. It
seems like SWF file you are trying to import, does some action
like, importing another swf or connecting to server on the first
frame itself. Captivate will try to play the first frame of SWF
when you import them. Try creating a keyframe with the stop action
as the first frame in your SWF, and see if you still have the
issue.
Issue 3 :- The approach I am mentioning over here is
generally the last approach which I will take in such scenerios,
but since you have already experimented a little, so try this.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application
Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate
Rename captivate_v20.dat as captivate_v20_org.dat.
Restart Captivate Application.

My video's have moved a few times so I have many of the movies showing up 4 times. But only one of the 4 is the real path. How to I get rid of the invalid paths in mass? I know I can get rid of them one-by-one but I want to do a bulk clean up.

I know I can do them individually but it would take too long. So I want to do a bulk clean up so all the links are valid but I can't find a way to do it.

Install iTunes Folder Watch and set its option to check for dead tracks on startup. This will root out any tracks that are no longer in your folders, and can add any that are in your folders, but not in iTunes.

Greetings, I need to urgently create a flash
game with 10 questions, 3 answers per question. At the end of the

To answer my own question, the answer is yes. Add the phone number you want to Face Time with, on the iPad. It works just fine.

I have a form which accept data from user but i want that user can enter data only before 4 in the evening after that no data will be accepted and user get any message. Now the problem is I want to compare the current time with 4 o clock or 16:00:00 but i dont know how to check whether the current time is greater or lesser than 4. Till now my code are like this: if(tt.equals("16:00:00")){}else{}
where tt is current time. but this is not the feasible solution for my second clause.

Any idea.* You wouldn't implement before(). You'd just use it. It's already implemented for you.
* before() doesn't just compare the hour of the day. It compare two date & time objects to see which one is greater--that is, it effectively looks at all the fields, not just HOUR.
* You don't need Timestamp if you're not dealing with a database.

Time machine allows only time capsule

I try to use a drive of another machine for backup. Time Machine has only one option, this is a time capsule. Since I don´t have it, I cannot backup my data. The option for Time Machine is being switched of everytime I try to select another drive.

Time Machine needs AFP file sharing, networked Mac running 10.5.6 or later and the Time Machine drive to be formatted with some flavor of Mac OS Extended with GUID partitioning.

Time Machine can’t back up to an external disk that's connected to an AirPort Extreme, or to an iPod, iDisk, or a disk formatted for Microsoft Windows (NTFS or FAT format). If you select an NTFS or FAT-formatted disk, Time Machine prompts you to reformat the disk. Choose a different disk or reformat the disk in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. Clock time right but save times wrong?

The clock in the top right hand corner is correct, however when I save something, it will get the minutes but it will always say I saved it at 19:(mins).
I also have a similar issue when using ical and also when the screen saver has the clock it always gets the minutes right but the hour is always 7pm!

For this issue,please check your DC's time first.
On the domain,kerberos has a 5 minute time skew hence ensure that all clients/DCs/Members servers clocks are within the 5 minute skew.
If you use your domain user to login your system,domain controllers will synchronize your system time.
I suggest you change the time manually and turn off Time Synchronization.
You can perform the following step to turn off Time Synchronization：
1. Open PC settings, and click/tap on Time and language on the left side.
2. Click/tap on Date and time on the left side of "Time and language", and do step 3 below for what you would like to do.
3. To Turn Off Internet Time Synchronization
A) On the right side under Date and time, move the Set time automatically slider to the left to turn it off.
Meanwhile,I highly recommend to synchronize the time of your PC with a reliable external NTP server.

Synchronizing IPCC server's time with an external time source

We have a IPCC server (CRS 4.0.3) running on a Windows Server 2000 SP4 platform. The server is working along with a Callmanager 4.1(3) in a WORKGROUP environment and there’s no domain. The clock on the IPCC server is recently acting very weirdly (back and forth by 10 - 30 minutes!) and I was wondering how can i change the time source provider for IPCC server to use a reliable external time server available on internet (or even use our local router).
Any input on this issue is appreciated in advance!

Ok. Let's clear things up.
Problem:
Network Time Protocol service stops in Callmanager 4.1.3 (Windows Server 2000 SP4) after configured to use it's local router as it's upstream time provider as indicated in this document (by configuring "ntp.conf" file): http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a008009470f.shtml
Here is the error which is loged in windows event viwer:
Time correction of -3619 seconds exceeds sanity limit (1000); set clock manually to the correct UTC time.
Why? 3619 seconds is almost 1 hour but the time on the server and on the router is correct! Could it be something related to DST problem with this box?
Note: DST is not working correctly on this machine and whenever it starts or ends we manually set the clock ahead or behind. We've also left "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" unchecked due to this problem.
This beahvir of callmanager is causing trouble for our contact center as well because IPCC server is configured to sync it's time from Callmanager using it's own "ntp.conf" file
Any idea?

How to synchronize the FieldPoint time with my computer time?

When I using MAX to read the values from my FieldPoint cFP-1804 module, there is and timestamp generated for every measurement, but it does not match my PC's system time. How to synchronize the FieldPoint time with my windows PC?
I found a thread on the forum regarding this problem (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/C4E56AD6450FC5FD86256DFF0007FF01), it ask me to select the Time Zone on the System Setting tab, but I didn't find any System Setting tab and Time Zone setting in my MAX screen. (MAX version4.4)
I'm using the cFP-1804 without embedded CPU module, I'm using asp.net, measurement studio to link with the cFP-1804, not by using Labview. Does cFP-1804 have a Time Server function? Please tell me how to match the FieldPoint time with my PC.

In order to obtain an updated timestamp with each FieldPoint Read, you should
use a Flat Sequence structure. In the same frame as the
FieldPoint Read, use a Get Date/Time In
Seconds node.
The program obtains a fresh Timestamp each time the FieldPoint Read VI is
called.
