G5 "system Failure: cpu=1; code=00000001 (corrupt stack)"

Any ideas on system crashing Waiting for remote debugger connection? it is frozen and happens after 10-20 min or with use of some programs?

Older meanings...
Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.
For the LCD...
If one of the Apple LCD displays detects an error condition, the power LED will flash in a certain pattern to indicate the issue.
Pattern
Meaning
short, short, short
The display is detecting wrong video format or an unsupported resolution.
Verify that your equipment is compatible and restart the computer. If the issue continues, reset the PRAM.
short, long, short
Make sure you are using the correct power adapter with the display. This alert will only appear on displays built in 2004 or later which require an external power adapter.
short, short, long
The display is detecting a backlight error. Check your display's power connections and restart the computer. If the problem continues, contact Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

  • Crash - System failure: cpu=1 code 00000001

For the past few days I have been experiencing computer crash:
    System failure: cpu=1 code 00000001  ......
I have been reading blogs online and this appears to be a big problem with the Mac G5 PowerPC.
I have done so far a DiskWarrior fix. A Disk Utilities from the OSX install disk.
Temps are in the range of 32C to 56C.
Has been running OK today except for this morning when it would not boot up - just the gray screen with the spinning circle.

    Might try this...

  • Can Anyone Help With........System failure: CPU=0:Code=

Trying to help a friend diagnose an issue with her I-Mac. It's running along fine then all of a sudden it freezes and a black window comes up with white type which reads System Failure:CPU=0:code=00000007(unaligned stack) Latest crash info for CPU0: (then about 9 lines of descriptive code which I have if it helps)
Sounds like a processor error to me, but don't know. If anyone can help it owuld be sincerely appreciated.
    thanks,
    Rodney

Hi there & welcome to Apple Discussions...!
I'm wondering if the processor is over-heating? Is that a G4 iMac?
The model and configuration would determine several factors.
If possible, a sensor software may be able to tell if the computer
is over-heating; but if it is too old a model, there would be little
if any information from the processor. Some don't have a sensor.
If the computer has been worked on, and the upper section opened
beyond the place where the second RAM and wi-fi card hides, it
may be possible the thermo-paste and thermo-couple may need
to be looked into; since this is important. If the factory RAM slot
has seen an upgrade, or if the clock battery replaced, or maybe
if the hard disk drive was upgraded; these require the upper part
of the iMac G4 to be opened. And it is a tedious process...
And if that is an iMac G5 or maybe a newer Intel® powered iMac
the question of overheating or other hardware issue may remain.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Power Failure: cpu=1; code=00000008 (unaligned stack)

    I have a Quicksilver 2002 DP 1.0GHz.
System Profiler reads it as a DP 733GHz about 50% of the time and a DP 1.0GHz the other 50%.
It always has a screen freeze about 4-5 min after startup.
I reset the processors; nothing changed.
But now I'm getting some system failures at bootup:
Power Failure: cpu=1; code=00000008 (unaligned stack)
and something about waiting for the debugger.
Anyone have an idea where the is?
    Thanks,
    Shamus

Yesterday my computer blacked out, like the circuit had blown but no. I put my hard drive into another G4, Dual 1.25 Mirror. It's a 120 G drive, running 10.4, current Safari. I ran Tech Tools and Disk Warrior and everything seems fine with it. But as I tried to lauch iTunes, it acts as though I’m loading a new version, asking me to accept the terms of the software. I canceled. Wierd. I purchased and downloaded an audio book from Audible yesterday and synced my ipod which received it. In iTunes info it gives that time as when iTunes was changed. It's wierd enough to wonder about a bug. Otherwise this hard drive acts fine.
Any ideas? Much appreciated. The original computer that I'd like to fix is still blacked-out although as long as I hold the button, it lights. I zapped the PRam but have no other ideas. Thanks for any ideas.

  • Installed new RAM and now got System Failure: cpu=0 error

This is so frustrating! I installed a 1 GB RAM chip (4200) in addition to the original 512 RAM. I turned on the computer, everything started and was working. I went in to the System Profiler and it was showing RAM as ok, but it had this: (Reversed) <-- in the name. I thought it was odd, but it was at least showing up. I quit iCal and I got a screen full of code with errors - the one I kept seeing was a kernel error. There was also a message that I needed to restart. I did - then it would not come on (fan was running, no video). So I shut down, took out the RAM, put it back in and let it sit for a few hours. When I turned it back on, it started up and I was able to log in to Gmail and created a message reply. In the middle of typing, I got an error that starts out with "System Failure: cpu=0; code=000000004 (No saveareas)" There's a lot more (about 1/3 of my screen) and the last line says "Waiting for remote debugger connection." I live about an hour and a half from a Mac store, so if I have to get there, I can....but does this mean I have a bad RAM chip or just a bad computer?

Odds are that it's a bad RAM module. People report many problems even with RAM modules that supposedly meet the printed specs. This is why a vendor that will easily replace modules is helpful.
Go back to the original 512MB only and see if the computer at least works. You might also try swapping sockets. It's possible you may have exacerbated the dead RAM socket problem, or even just have lint or dust in the sockets.

  • Post gong black strips with white type. System Failure: cpu=0;  etc. HELP

I happened to plug in a palm pilot dock unit to my keyboard while my machine was booting up and although it may have noting to do with it, I now have the grey screen with the system failure message. The first line ends with "Corrupt Stack" and it goes on with "unaligned frame address" etc.
I tried to boot from the Tiger install disk, but no luck and the same result. Booted and held the x key. Booted and held the c key. Nada.
    Is it dead?
    Steve

Weird...after closing down and rebooting with a Tiger install disk (which my drive wouldn't read), and holding down my mouse buttoms, it's back like nothing ever happened. I just cleaned up my permissions and will now look for some utilities to figure out what's up. I'm getting a new iMac in a couple of weeks, so hopefully Ole Bess will hold up until then.

  • System Failure - please help

I had the black screen with System Failure at the top.
System Failure cpu=0 code 00000001 (corrupt stack)
It also said Memory access exception (1,0,0).
Can this have anything to do with my internet service. I have been having trouble with my Mac ever since my cable company switched to roadrunner.
The system failure occured when my mac tried to open java.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Could be that's a kernel panic. Does the same screen reappear after you
press and hold the power button down for several seconds to power it off,
and then press it after awhile to restart?
If it is a kernel panic, you could try troubleshooting to find out. It takes
time and procedures outline a path to test the possibility here:
    resolving kernel panics
I'm wondering if some questionable RAM in the user accessed slot is part
of this issue, because it has been known to happen. There may be other
hardware causes of this kind of symptom; including logic board failure.
You can see if your computer can startup from the included Apple Hardware
Test disc (should be a CD or maybe on the bootable DVD if your system came
with all the OSX system stuff on DVDs) to see if error messages
    show. Not sure if any startup keyboard combos could help this;
maybe there's a reset that could purge corrupt data.
Hopefully it's something simple, like carefully removing the user-access
RAM and seeing if it runs normally. Check out the kernel panic info.

  • Kernel panic - corrupt stack

My iBook g4 has a kernel panic (below text).
It did a '3 beeb, flash light 5 times' crash last week but then re-booted fine. About 4 months ago, this happened repeatedly and the 'power down now' error message appeared on a black screen. Finally it refused to boot up at all and we took it apart and found a loose connection inside (I don't know what it was), reattached it and it has worked fine since.
Am worried as I have stupidly not backed up recently and have a website on there that is due to posted. Please help!

    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

First, sorry for the delay, I only work a few days a week
Second, there is no panic.log on any of the machines. I looked in the console and system profiler programs in all the directories and searched in terminal using 'find / -name panic.log 2> /dev/null'. That is one reason I had to take a picture of it. I will try hard to get a panic.log.
Keep in mind that these are very hard lockups so I am wondering if the kernel even CAN sync the log to disk in this situation. However, I come from the Linux world and am fairly new to Macs so perhaps I am expecting it to be a hardware problem when software really can make a Mac Kernel lockup.
Furthermore they are networked together, we use LDAP/NFS home directories but each machine was prepared with it's own local copy of CS2. There is no sharing of the application.
Also, i tried a boot with apple-v but all went well and there were no out of place message.
Since my first posting I have also tried an fsck which revealed nothing but a clean FS.
Also, we do use radmind to help clone machines. The OS was installed manually with our application loaded using radmind templates.
We do use our Macs very heavily and use many applications at once using all RAM and heavy swap. Do the Mac Minis not like to be exercised hard? I think I may try to use a 1GB stick in a machine and see if that helps.
Also, could CS2 really cause a complete lockup of the machine with a corrupt stack? To me an application-level program should never cause the machine to freeze or should never be able to corrupt memory it doesnt own unless the OS lets it meddle with hardware.

I have an older G5 and It has been crashing a lot lately.  Mostly when I'm using billing software or Vinyl cutting software.  It also won't launch safari and occasionally it won't launch mail.  The fan starts running faster and I get dos code that comes up on the screen over whatever program I'm running and it says:
    System Failure:cpu=0;code 1436778.

Three or four times in the last day or two, my G5 has been displaying a very strange 'freeze' whereby the following happens:

    Hi Catherine,
Hmmm the pmap is the Physical Map of all the HW, Caches, Virtual Memory, etc, so it could be CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, just about anything.
Boot off your original G5 Install Disk while holding down Option/alt key to select AHT, then run the extended Apple Hardware Test.

Woe is me (and my kids)!   Got the 'printhead problem' message while using my C6380 printer.  Followed all instructions - cleaned the printhead, replaced the cartridges with new HP products, reset the printer - but persistently getting the 'ink system failure' message.  The error code is Oxc19a0007 which is NOT one of the many listed error codes -  ...0006 and ...0008 are on the list but not ...0007.
    Any ideas, anyone?

    Hello DPCT,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your Photosmart C6380 is stating "Ink System Failure". I will do my best to assist you! Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
Please follow this HP document on 'Ink System Failure' or a '0x...' or a 'C2...' Error Message Displays on the Front Panel. If you're still experiencing the same problem, then please contact HP technical support for further assistance. Click here to find out: HP Worldwide Contact.
    Good luck.

  • System failure during locking GL account "co.code" by "GL a/c"

    HI Experts,
When posting an excise invoice in J1IIN we are getting the following error.
"system failure during locking GL account 1800 by 13113910"
Any one have idea why we get this error?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi ,
This error could be caused because of many reasons,
As per my understanding, the error is encountered only
when multiple user press the SAVE button simultaneously(the error
is not encountered when multiple users run the transaction J1IIN).
While creating the excise invoice, at the time of saving system tries to
lock the GL account that is getting updated with the new balances.
Probably some one else could be changing the GL account data  at that
point of time. This is a very short phenomena and is meant to keep the
data consistency. It is the intended behaviour of the system. Two users
cannot perform simultaneously on the same G/L account.
Also, Please note that while saving the Excise invoice through J1iin
you must click on the save icon only once even if you get any messages
Just  press 'enter' key, instead of clicking again on the save icon.
This will not give the GL account locking error.
If you press the save icon the GL account will be locked and if you click
on the save icon again it tries to lock the GL account again and since
the GL is already locked this error will come.
So please do not click on the save icon more than once
    Regards
