hi pushpender,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Try opening the Mouse / Touchpad settings
Open Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Mouse
The last tab on this Windows should be your touchpad
Once you have that window click on the ELAN hardware then click on options.
Try configuring the tapping option in there.
Let me know your findings
Cheers!

  • T430 Touchpad Click Issue [FIXED, 3RD PARTY PROBLEM]

    Hi,
When using the touchpad on my T430, my click buttons rarely work as intended. Sometimes, they begin to work after the laptop goes to sleep, or occasionally an entire boot is okay. However, this is rare. When it isn't working, what happens is that the right click doesn't function at all, and the left click seems to be more of a left click + context menu key rather than a pure left click.
I've tried reinstalling the Ultranav drivers, restoring their settings to the default (I can confirm that the left click is set up to function as a left click, and right as a right click - if I set up the right click to function as a left click, both do the odd context menu behavior), and even doing a complete BIOS update, to no avail. I've yet to try this in another OS, so I haven't yet isolated this to a hardware or software issue.
What could be my issue? I am not under warranty and would prefer to not send in my laptop for repair.
EDIT: I was able to fix the weird context menu behavior by disabling the Menu Key in SharpKeys (mapping key 117 (0x0075) to do nothing (0x0000)). However, my right click still does nothing. I can bind it using the Ultranav settings to be a left click, and in this mode, it left clicks. Anything bound to be a right click literaly does nothing.
    Any ideas?
EDIT2: I ran sfc /scannow on an elevated command prompt and it fixed a lot of errors. It drastically sped up my computer; what's odd is that I've hardly installed anything on here, all I did was remove a lot of the Lenovo bloat (but not all of it). Anyway, after doing that, I restarted and lo and behold, my custom theme was wiped out because it restored the three .dlls that I patched for that. It also wiped out SharpKey's registry entry. So, I re-created the registry entry, logged out, logged back in, and again, left mouse worked fine but right didn't. I then re-patched the theme .dlls and restarted.
That was the fastest boot I have ever experienced on Windows 7, it was on the login screen before the orbs of the logo even joined together. My right click is working as intended now, and it's nice to have it work again - however, this has happened in the past, where it worked for one boot and then stopped the next, so I'll keep this post updated to see how it pans out.
EDIT3: Literally as I hit submit on my past update, I couldn't click my taskbar. This happens from time to time on this machine and I think it's a driver mishap regarding Optimus. Either way, the only way to fix it is to hit ctrl+alt+delete, get to the prompt asking about switch user/task manager/etc, and hit cancel. Then when it returns to the desktop, everything is fine. I did that, and now my left click is pseudo right clicking again and my right click does nothing. pls help
EDIT4: I just updated my BIOS with the latest release on the drivers page (1/24/14 or something) and after a quick reboot/flash cycle, I was able to log into Windows with the mouse working as intended, both left and right clicking. We'll see how long this holds up; if I never update this post again, it worked!
EDIT5: I literally had a full repeat of EDIT3. I'm going to keep looking into ways to get this working.
EDIT6: I logged out and back in again, thinking SharpKeys would reapply itself, and lo and behold, it fixed the odd left click. My right click button is still doing nothing though, but at least I can navigate Windows.
EDIT7: It appears I had an AutoHotkey script tampering with the Menu Key. I deleted it and now everything is working as intended, plus my machine is faster than ever.

Try turning off first the touchpad and seeing if the trackpoint set of buttons work. Then try turning off the trackpoint instead.
Chances are one of the sets of buttons are broken and is interfering with normal operation.
I get the left-click behaving as right-click behavior once in a blue moon, but it goes away with tapping right-click once.

  • Double Clicking Issue Feature Or Bug

    Hi All,
I've been using Mac's for over ten years and I'm experiencing an issue unlike anything I've ever seen before. I have this double-clicking issue (maybe more appropriately "accidental double-clicking issue") in certain programs.
In iTunes for example, when I choose File/Add To Library and I double-click the root folder on my external hard drive (which contains subfolders such as Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music, Applications, etc..) iTunes begins to automattically import EVERYTHING on the folder without my having clicked the CHOOSE bubble. EVERYTHING!
Either I'm crazy and I'm just noticing this now or this is the most annoying bug/feature I've ever seen.
The issue also occurs in Mac The Ripper. When I went to choose a Save location and accidentally double-clicked a folder that had subfolders in it, I didn't get the opportunity to click CHOOSE. The Finder just assumed that my double-clicking a folder means that that is the folder I want to select.
I hope I'm explaining this clearly. I don't know I never noticed this "feature" before!
Is there anyway to turn it off?

There isn't anything similar between the two in a hardware sense. The two machines aren't sharing anything. I only use the Magic Mouse with the new 27" i7 iMac.
I tried to reproduce the effect in 10.5 to see if it was indeed a "feature", and it is. To a certain extent.
At this point I've come to the conclusion that this is supposed to happen, in 10.5 and 10.6 (possibly 10.4 or earlier too) when a folder and it's sub-folders contain compatible files respective to the program attempting to access them. However, I don't think it should happen when a folder contains subfolders that have files that are incompatible with the particular program that is currently being browsed.
Furthermore... I'm unable to reproduce the same issue today! This new 27" iMac i7 has been very "buggy" across the board!
    Like for example;
When I first started it up, Airport and Firewire didn't appear in the Network preference pane in System Pref's. And it didn't recognize USB devices that I plugged in until I rebooted a few times.
It ran REEEEEALLLLLLY HOT! Hot like when you put your hand on the hood of a car thats been sitting in the sun. But today it seems to be running much cooler...
It also wont boot from any external hd or Disk Warrior 4.2 DVD.
But all in all it's still a pretty sweet, and crazy fast.

  • Mouse clicking issues

For the last 2 weeks or so I all of a sudden have mouse clicking issues on a 2009 iMac. The mouse (I have tried 3 different ones from apple and Logitech) seem to be able to open files etc. on a click. I have to click repeatedly to get it done. When I run the disc utility it mostly goes away. Now, I run the disc repair every morning to make it go away. Annoying. I have seen other people having similar issues - it sounds like a OS issue????

This same scenario has happened to me sporadically over the past few months and seems to be increasing. I have the Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks. Got it 3 years ago for use with my G4 PowerBook (1.5 GHz, 2 GB RAM, OS 10.4.8). First I thought it was the batteries, but then realized that if I'd just wait a few minutes the problem would usually go away. Nothing new electrical on my desk that would cause it. Gets really annoying. The mouse becomes sluggish and the clicks are non responsive (a right click will open a sub-menu window, but then no other clicks work. Trying to move the mouse around on the screen gives spotty results - stops and starts - as if I'm moving it on a reflective surface. After multiple clicks the window goes away. I can disconnect the USB transmitter and have complete control with the mousepad.
Sometimes the problem won't occur all day long. Other times it comes and goes multiple times during an hour. A restart will usually get it out of that overly annoying loop.
I bought a new Logitech Mouse a few days ago, thinking mine was wearing out, but the same thing happened within minutes.
I can only think there's some conflict with an OSX update. VERY frustrating. I don't want to go back to a wired mouse.
So I, too, am eager for a solution.
    Thanks,
    -Scott

  • HDD ridiculous parking (spinning down) and clicking issue

I have an original Macbook Pro (Santa Rosa) with upgraded hdd Seagate Momentus 500GB 7200.4 ST9500420AS.
The disk is parking and spinning down in ridiculous moments, it can park itself every two seconds for ten times when I browse the web with a loud "click" and a froze the mac for a second. It helps to use hdapm and set the disk apm to max, but this is not a solution.
This is not the beep+click issue on the unibody Macbook Pros.
Is it a Seagate fault or the power management setting in Macbook Pro?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
One thing to check is that your Seagate is not the model with the G-Force feature, which is Seagate's version of a sudden motion sensor. If your serial number is correct and there is no "G" at the end, then it should not be. If you do have the drive with the G-Force, you may need to disable Apple's built in Sudden Motion Sensor. Here are some links links where you can read about this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1935
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1934
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1901090&tstart=0
Another possibility is a problem with the new drive. You can do a comprehensive check of the physical health of the drive with S.M.A.R.T. Utility:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/32454
You can download the demo and run it several times for free.
Using these links, you should be able to evaluate the Seagate drive and decide if it is the problem or not.
    Good luck!

There's nobody here but we users.
If you have a double click issue than slow the time down in System Preferences > mouse. The slow side gives you more time between clicks, faster is less time.
If you have tracking issues the preference slide bar range doesn't solve you can experiment with the settings as explained here:

  • Click issues IE / VC app

    Hello,
Our users (and myself) are experiencing click issues, whenever an attempt is made to click on the InputField UI element or a Table Column to enter data, the cursor is not seen. Thus it is annoying for users, since they cannot enter.
Alternatively have requested to use TAB but would like to know if this issue is related to VC app or IE?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Many thanks,

  • G500s Touchpad issues

After recieving the G500s from Lenovo for repairs on the touchpad I decided to replace the HDD and re install Windows 8. Now I cant use any multitouch features.
Tried to install the latest drivers from Lenovo but ran into issues
However I did managed to install the driver but any features/options are grayed out.
Also tried reinstalling windows but no luck.
    Thanks!

    hi GenNoNamae,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Looking at the screenshot, I suspect that you have a Synaptics Touchpad not an ELAN (you should be able to see an "ELAn Smartpad" or similar device in the mouse properties after installing the Touchpad driver. From the screenshot, it just shows a "Standard PS/2 Mouse").
     - Link to picture
To verify what kind of Touchpad that you have, you will need to identify it via the hardware ID or use a software like AIDA 64 Extreme Edition
    - Link to picture (Synaptics)
    - Link to picture (ELAN
Try to uninstall the ELAN Touchpad driver from the Control Panel (reboot if necessary) and install the Synaptics Driver installer from D:\Drivers\Touchpad Drivers (Synaptics, Elan)\Synaptics
Let me know how it goes.

  • Windows 8, Y55 ideapad continual clicking issue with touchpad. Help please

For some reason, when I tap to click the item I clicked remains actively clicked when I move my hand away from the touchpad. In order to process any action, I need to move my cursor away from the button I'm trying to click.
Interestingly enough I tried to disable tapping to see if it would solve the issue, and tapping continued to work...which is odd. It doesn't have this issue when I click objects with a mouse, only when I use the trackpad. Please help me, I'm confused.

    hi BFG9000,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
You can try Uninstalling the driver of your touchpad from Device Manager, under Mice and other pointing device and make sure to put a check on Delete Driver/software prompt.
Then try Checking the touchpad if it works ok without a driver, If it does then try downloading a driver from synaptics website.
If not then Most likely this is a Hardware concern and you need to contact Lenovo Technical Support for assistance.
    Best Regards

  • Notebook G500s - Touchpad multi-gestures not working

    Hi,
Ever since installing Windows 8.1 the multi gestures on my touchpad stopped working (i.e. scrolling with two fingers, swiping for the charms to appear etc.). I have the most recent driver from the Lenovo site installed. Whenever I go to Control Panel > Devices > Mouse > Elan Tab; the 'options' button is grayed out. (I used to be able to modify the multi gestures there.) I think this is a driver issue but I can't find a more recent driver.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

The only other thing I can think of is to uninstall the Windows 8.1 driver, reboot the computer and then install the Windows 8 driver.  If you get any error messages about using the older driver then try using Compatibility Mode for the installation.
EDIT:  Here is the link for the Windows 8 driver......

  • G500 GPU 8570m issue

I have the essential g500 with windows 7 64bit intel 2020m and 8570m gpu. The gpu is clocked at 825mhz and has 1gb of memory. How is that so since amd site repots that this gpu should have 2gb memory and 650mhz clock?
I also have a wierd issue. Wether i lower/increase my cpu ghz or overclock the card the frames on games remain the same. Also the frames are the same even if i underclock the card up to a point. What kind of graphics card doesnt change frames when it is either overclocked or underclocked when the cpu isnt bottlenecking?  Is this a special lenovo version of 8570m?

If I uninstall the driver for the TouchPad the keyboard and TouchPad will work simultaneously on the windows driver however the TouchPad is very limited. There is no option to turn off the palm touch listed as a fix in other forum post.

  • Is it a major fix to get touchpad click back?

    Folks:
I've had my iBook for maybe 6 or 7 years, had the HD replaced under warranty 3 years in and more or less it just keeps going.  Recently had an issue where tapping or clicking on the touchpad would do nothing . . . my first thought was system failure, but then I plugged a USB mouse into it and it works.  Question is whether it's a major problem to get the touchpad tap or click repaired, or whether it's smarter to just use a mouse until it falls to the ground?  It's handy to have an older computer to schlep around without having to worry about it, but being able to use the touchpad is easier than dragging the mouse out, etc.
    Thanks,
    e.e.p.

    Rhonda:
Thanks kindly for the fast reply . . . no, I have not tried reset on the PMU . . . .  One thing to mention, the trackpad itself "works" meaning that I can move the cursor around by using the trackpad, but when I try to click by either tapping or clicking on the clickpad . . . nothing happens.  I didn't think of the word "clickpad" until now, but it is click or clickpad that doesn't work . . . the touchpad is somewhat functioning.
Anyway, I'm away from that computer right now, so it'll take me until tonight or tomorrow before I could play with it . . . wasn't expecting a fast answer, I have another post on the MBP forum from a few days ago still languishing there unresponded to.  But, it seems that doing the PMU reset is fairly drastic?? or is it no biggie and it's just the time that I need to re-set afterward??
