G510 audio driver installation problem on Windows 8.1

I've just received my brand new Lenovo G510 and installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto it.
Most of the drivers from the attached CD installed without any problems (though I was quite surprised that no newer versions were available on the Support wrbpage) but I can't install audio driver.
Apparently this series is equipped in either Conexant or Realtek audio chips and the provided setup application is desigend to detect the correct chip and run the appropriate driver installation program.
The problem is that setup is not working for me. All I receive is the notification "This utility can not be used on this machine". Since there are no "orphan" audio devices in the Device Manager, I can't really tell which audio chipset is installed in my machine. I don't want to install both dirvers as it may just cause confilcts.
How can I say which audio chipset is installed and install the correct driver?

hi mikolajek,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Under Device manager
You should look for your Audio
Normally it stays under Sound and gaming controller,
And if no driver is installed in shows as High Definition Audio
Right click on it and select Properties
     Go to the Details TAB
change the Value to Hardware ID then check the details
ex. PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_051014E4&REV_01
Get the 4 digit after VEN and DEV
Ven is the Vendor and Devi is the Device
Go to PCI database and do a search for the VEN
Then search for the DEV and youll know that device

  • Audio driver for HP Compaq with Windows 7???

    Hi
    Here's my problem...
I have a HP Compaq dc7100 PC tower, I installed Windows 7 on it, but now impossible to find a working audio driver...
There's only audio drivers for XP and Vista...
    What should I do?
Thank you so much in advance!

    Hi:
    You have two choices:
    1. Launch the Windows Update program and let WU download and install the W7 audio driver for your dc7100 or,
    2. Download and install the Windows Vista Business audio driver for your PC:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12...
If you installed the 64 bit version of Windows 7, you will need to click on your audio controller in the device manager, click on the driver tab. Then click on update driver and select the automatic method of finding the driver. Windows Update will download and install the 64 bit driver that way, but it won't if you just launch the Windows Update utility from the programs menu. Go figure!

  • Acer Aspire V5-531 Dolby Advanced Audio driver issues after updating to Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 I was getting an error on loading Windows media player which indicated that: The current Dolby audio driver version is 7.2.8000.17 and the softwareapplication expects driver version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a valid driver and application combination  Although Windows 10 has probably updated your driver to the latest version of the driver (you can check this in device manager for yourself) but the Dolby Advanced Audio V2 application which was supplied by Acer (not Dolby) has not been updated to the corresponding latest version. So, you need an updated version of Dolby Advanced Audio V2 (Version 7.2.8000.17) Acer have not published an updated version. Looked all over the site coudn't find it.  My solution was to remove the error was to uninstall the Acer version and replace with the correct version downloaded from the Lenovo site below. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028945  I'd wanted to make sure it was the same software, so I tried without uninstalling first and it refused as a version was already installed. So that was reassuring. Thanks for the archived post below pointing me to the softwre on the Lenoveo site at the Lenovo site. I'd looked all over the Acer site for it. http://community.acer.com/t5/2013-Archives/how-i-solved-the-dolby-realtek-audio-problem/td-p/103157  There are warnings on the page above not to use the Lenovo version of the software because of 'tuning', but my audio sounds just as good as before and the error is now gone. Without it the Dolby would have been uninstalled so it seemed a reasonable punt to me. Disappointed in Acer, will buy a Lenovo next time...

Hi, The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for The V5-552G on windows 8 (not 8.1) This will work on your computer even if different model... the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 has not work either. So the one I´m using is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To Download the Driver and Software needed Go to: http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers and Go: Ultra-Thin / Aspire / V5-552G To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck

  • Audio driver for Compaq NX7400 in Windows 7

My OS is Windows 7 Professional. The computer is Compaq Nx7400. Can anyone tell me where I can get a compatible audio driver for this laptop? I tried installing the one available for Windows Vista but I think it's not compatible since the computer always turns to blue screen (with dumping physical memory, etc.) so I uninstalled that driver and up to now, my audio device is not working.
Another problem is that this computer go to this blue screen thing from time to time and I'm worried that eventually this might not entirely work anymore. How can I solve this? Thanks!

    Hi,
Go to Control Panel -> Devices Manager
Click with right button of Your mouse on each yellow sign and choose properties. Then go to bottom details and paste here Hardware Ids. This way we will know what it is.
Below You've got example how to do it:

  • I need an audio driver for Yoga 13 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bits English

    Hi all,
I downgraded my Yoga 13 from Windows 8 to Windows 7 pro 64 bits, and ever since then I have a problem with my microphone.
Skype finds the microphone and can use it, calls are all working fine, but any other program using audio does not work with the microphone.
After troubleshooting, I concluded that I need to update the driver but I cannot find it. Anything that I find on the Lenovo support pages does not install (event the one found on this page: http://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/downloads/ds002860).
After looking at this post: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/I-need-an-Internet-driver-for-Yoga-13-wit.... I figured I would to be provided with the link by someone from Lenovo support.
Here's the hardware ID of the soundcard: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_506E&SUBSYS_17AAA001&REV_1000. In Windows it is recognized as High Definition Audio (in the device manager).
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello,
From looking at the Yoga 13 Hardware Maintenance Manual and downloading the driver package from the Realtek Wireless LAN & Bluetooth Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Yoga 13 page and extracting (but not running) it to look at the contents, it appears the Yoga 13 uses a wireless LAN card based on Realtek RTL8732 chipset.
I would suggest that you try downloading the drivers, expanding, but not installing them on to a USB flash drive or SD card, then plugging that into the Yoga 13, running the Device Manager (filename: DEVMGMT.MSC), clicking on the appropriate entry for the wireless network adapter, selecting update, and then choosing the Browse my computer for driver software option, pointing that to the location of the unpacked drivers.  Perhaps Device Manager will find the correct drivers to install that way.

  • HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw; Wireless Driver installation problem in Win 8.1

Product name : HP Laserjet PRO MFP M125nw, product nr CZ173A
US Operating system: Dual Boot:   Win Vista home premium (32 bit) / Win 8.1 pro (32 bit)
The printer was installed under Vista in September 2014 and was and still is wireless printing and scanning without a problem.
Recently I tried to install the printer (wireless) under Win 8.1 and I downloaded the latest Full Feature software from HP.nl.
During installation the software installation package could not find the printer and installation was aborted.
I ran the printer self test / Configuration. The network Info and product info sheets were without  errors. A ping to the IP address of the printer was without a loss. The firewall indicated that HP software is accepted.
Off course I read everything on HP about this problem I followed every advice and repeatedly gave it a try. I even installed the usb cable solution ( USB was working ok) followed by your change connection instructions, but all in vain.
To my surprise HP was able to find my printer when I checked on http:// www.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpsupport/index.pl. However the printer was found in my local network as a HP Laserjet Pro M1132 multifunctional printer with product nr stars 3NW-01 which is not correct, however the found serie nr. of CNB7G3RC78 was correct.
The print and scan doctor made some changes to the software and after that I was able to print wirelessly, however the Scan doctor button did not react at all and using the program was not possible further. Starting the program again gave the same result.
Conclusion:       In Vista: HP wireless print and HP wireless Scan is working fine
In Win 8.1: HP wireless print is OK, HP wireless Scan cannot be installed !????
In Win 8.1: Windows Printer driver and Win Fax& Scan driver both wireless working ok
Remark: Reading the display is difficult in dim lit areas. The on / off button is brightly lit and this light should be used to enlighten the display instead.
A solution for the scanning problem would be appreciated.
    Kind regards

Hi @JWAH , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're experiencing driver issues. I'd like to help!
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125/126 Series Full Software and Drivers.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • My d530 SFF, wont complete AC'97 audio driver installation. It Shuts down without warning.

I recently formatted my "hp compaq d530 sff" and installed XP sp3. Everything works fine except that there's no Sound from the Machine. When I try to install the AC'97 sound driver the machine shuts down just as it is about to complete the install. It then restarts itself still with no sound. what could be the problem?

Back up all data immediately as your boot drive may be failing.
This diagnostic procedure will query the log for messages that may indicate a system issue. It changes nothing, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator. I've tested them only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.

The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.

  • Audio driver for MacBook Air and Windows 8?

Is anybody aware of a solution to get audio from the built-in audio device of the latest MacBook Air under Windows 8 Pro?

Maybe you got mega bucks, but for me throwing money at at Thunderbird drive is STUPID.
How many times a day are you cloning your 200GB drive?   Must be several times a day.
I'm all for getting the fastest computer with the most HP, but for backup money I'm going with USB external drive. I probably should state that I run my Time Machine about once a week.

  • M-Audio Firewire 410 soundcard problem on Windows on new iMac

I've had this problem since I got the new iMac. When running Windows natively, with all Boot Camp 2.0 (same with the older Boot Camp) drivers installed and the latest drivers for my M-Audio Firewire 410 for Windows XP Pro, I haven't been able to use the sound card at all. Everything installs perfectly, the control panel works, but the hardware won't respond to any sound playback. I'm not sure if it's the Boot Camp drivers for my iMac or if it's my interface. It worked fine through Boot Camp with my MacBook Pro, but not the new Aluminum iMac. Using it with Ableton Live 6/7 fails. Playing it from iTunes fails. Everything fails. My interface is basically rendered useless on Windows. I believe it's an iMac + Boot Camp problem, not the interface. Audio program forums didn't help, so I cam here. Hope someone can help. Thanks!

    from M-audio...
M-Audio does not support Boot Camp on Intel based Macs at this time.
The problem is that there is no BIOS on Mac Intel systems and getting devices to work on some XP systems requires BIOS/OS tweaks. Boot Camp works around the need for BIOS; Windows does not. Windows installations are not always consistent and the fact it works on one Intel Mac does not mean it will work on another.
Attempting to install any M-Audio device or drivers in Boot Camp is done solely at the user’s own risk.
Here is a website that has many troubleshooting tips that can help get devices to work on XP and MAY work for Boot Camp; however this is all done at the users own risk.
    http://www.pcaudiolabs.com/setuptips1.asp?cat=setu
    For M-Audio FireWire devices:
Switching from Mac to PC the FireWire device may not always load the firmware properly. To get the PC firmware to load you may have to boot into XP then shut down, disconnect, reconnect and reboot. Switching from PC to Mac automatically loads the correct firmware.
If this workaround does not fix your issue, you will have to run the device solely on Mac OS or on Windows hardware.

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All in One installation problems with windows 8.1

    Hi,
I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All in One printer which was working fine on wifi with Windows 8. A few days ago I got the prompt to upgrade to 8.1. Following this the printer would not work at all, and I got prompt/warning message to re-install the printer software. So I went to the control panel and removed all the old HP software, and tried to re-install the latest one from the HP site...to no avail.
I have tried doing this a number of ways - manual download, downloading the HP software that determines what software is required, then downloads it for you....
It seems to start unpacking ok, but then gets stuck on 'Checking System' and never progresses to do anything else. Help!

    Hello Cam77,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are encountering difficulties installing your Photosmart C7280 printer after upgrading your computer to Windows 8.1.
I have included the Windows 8: The Progress Bar on the Software Installation Stops or Stalls document. It will walk you through the steps to get the printer installed.
Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties while doing the above. If you do, please let me know at what step things went awry and what any error messages said. Please also include how you have the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless). Thank you.

  • False Audio driver on lenovo site

i downloaded realtek audio driver for lenovo g580 for windows 8 from http://http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/0lau05w8.exe
But this driver is fauly. it gives this error while installling.
We can see that its for Vista and not for windows 8. Can u help where do i find the right audio driver?

    Hi firozmkhatri,
Try it from here .  The Consumer site is being phased out, I'm surprised it still works.  Everything is being combined.
If it still doesn't work, try it from the Chinese site.  Use Chrome to translate it.

  • Removing Core Audio driver

I've recently tried to install the digidesign Mbox to run with garageband, but had no luck. I installed the appropriate Core Audio driver with no problem, but now I can't get it off of my system. I've ran the unistall that came with the download but it still is showing up in my activity monitor as "coreaudiod" and is slightly slowing down my machine. Any thoughts on how to completely remove this driver from my system? Thanks!

What you see in Activity Monitor is the audio driver of the OS.
You might quit it. It will automatically restart if any application that has sound implemented is active.
I've done so when system sounds behave unnormal.

  • H67MA-E45 - Audio driver will not install

    Hello,
I look very much forward to suggestions how to install audio drivers for mainboard H67MA-E45 under Windows XP SP3.
After the hotfix KB888111 was installed, the Device Manager shows "Other Devices/Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" (four of them show up).
I tried to install the latest audio driver 5.10.0.6151 (Windows XP) from MSI's web site, but I always get the same error message: "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software". I have looked through all available catalogues to find the missing files, without success.
    Regards
    Adlon

Thank you Svet, I tried the following suggestion but it did not work:
    "Do this:
Go to device manager, then expand "System Devices", and locate "MS UAA bus" Right click over it, then click "Disable".
    Reboot and enter in "Safe Mode", {hit "F8" just after bios post screen}
Once done go to device manager then expand "System Devices", and locate "MS UAA bus"  Right click over it, then click "Un-install".
Reboot PC, then run Realtek driver installation again."
Instead of "Other Devices/Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" the Device Manager now shows "Other Devices/Unknow device (four of them)"
Same message after trying to install the audio drivers "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software".
I also tried to install the audio drivers after I had changed from version SP3 to SP2 in the registry, but no difference.
    Any more suggestions?
