[G510] Wifi

Hi,
I owe Lenovo G510 i3-4000M. I installed all the drivers in the CD. But the button on keypad is not working. In the keypad there is a sign of an aeroplane in F7 button. But it is of no use. That is the button is not working. Please help me. I have once run windows 7 and now on windows 8.1. In both the OS, the key is not working.

I’m sorry to hear that Wireless is not getting enabled by clicking on “F7” Key. To resolve this issue and enable the Wireless and other Function keys. Please install Wireless & LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) driver in the computer, below is the link to download the same:

Lenovo G510 wifi problem (Solved?)

Hello, few days ago I bought the lenovo g510, which comes with Win8 x64.
The laptop works perfect except the wifi does not connect me to any network. When I try to connect it tells me the connection is limited or null
Looking in the device manager, my wifi seems to be:
PCI \ VEN_14E4 & DEV_4727 & REV_01 & SUBSYS_060914E4
Where I can get any driver to work properly?

I think I've found a solution (a workaround) ...
For next wifi card:
PCI \ VEN_14E4 & DEV_4727 & REV_01 & SUBSYS_060914E4
"Broadcom 802.11n net adapter" <- This can be different
Driver: 6.30.223.143
Date: 06/08/2013
OS: Windows 8 x64
In the device manager, right button and click on wifi device Propierties -> Advanced options -> WMM -> Disabled
This will force the card to work in g mode (54mbpps), but at least it connect and dont disconnect with the time...

Going through the device manager worked for me too, FINALLY!
Been spending the last week since I bought my G510 to get the wifi to work for more then 5 minutes, and this was it.

G510 Wifi connection problem Linux WL driver broadcom BCM43142

Hello,
I have recently bought a G510 laptop and all in all I like it - it does what I need it for. There is however one issue that really makes me reconsider even buying Lenovo again and that is the Wifi Card that is builtin.
The Broadcom BCM43142 currently only work with the broadcom-wl kernel module under Linux and it doesn't work well. I get disconnects every 1-10 minutes that last at least a minute which makes it almost impossible to use WiFi properly.
This wouldn't be so bad - after all WiFi cards are not very expensive but it turns out that all cards I tried so far are blocked by the BIOS.
@Lenovo: I realise that Linux users are probably not your priority but can you please at least publish a list of compatible WiFi cards for your Laptops?

What is the Model no of the Router ?
Are you able to go online with another wireless computer ?
Try to lower down the security to WPA or WEP then,try to connect the wireless network.If still doesn't work then,upgrade the router's firmware and reconfigure it...

G510 wifi cutting out

Hi all,
I have a G510 running Windows 8.1 64 bit with a Qualcomm Atheros ar9485wb-eg and I'm having trouble with my wireless dropping out. It only seems to happen when I'm torrenting, streaming, or downloading large files (iTunes podcasts). I checked my device manager and it says my driver software is up to date. The problem is not as bad if my computer is right next to the router or when I have the ethernet cable plugged in. The router is an Arris DG860. the problem is fixed by turning airplane mode on for a few seconds and then turning it back off but this is not a very practical solution.

I would like to know which Wifi cards I use that that works with Intel Wireless Display, Intel say only these. Are any of these on the whitelist?

I'm afraid that the list does not show any WIFI adapter that support the Intel WiDi

K8n neo4-f no boot, no post, nothing, HELP!

Hopefully you can give me some insight. I have had the k8n neo4-f (939 3800x2 MB) up and running for about 2 months. The past two days I experienced a couple hard crashes complete freezes, 2 blue screens, and repeated reboots prior to the loading the OS (XP). It seemed to get progressively worse, and now it's dead. My PSU runs fine, all fans for the case, MB, and CPU are running, case leds, etc. but I no longer get the platinum pre boot screen, or bios, or system scan. The monitor was connected on it's last freeze and working/connected properly. restart did not work, so I went for the power switch, powered down then back up again. All I get now is a sleeping monitor and the swirling fans. I did not modify or add any hardware since I built it two months ago. It was never overclocked or showed any signs of overheating. What now? Did the MB blow?

Everything was working fine no hardware or bios updates in over a month prior. I did install some software: bittorrent, itunes, quicktime, and left my computer on longer (24hrs+) when i noticed the first crash the following morning. Bittorrent was running during the last crash.

G510 slow wifi // atheros AR9485WB-EG

Hello,
I've got issue on my new g510 with qualcomm atheros AR9485WB-EG with download transfer.
My broadband conneciton is 60 mb/s but my lenovo achieves max 3 mb/s.
On HP and Vaio laptops everything works perfetcly.
I installed the latest version of drivers 10.0.0.297, I did recovery, I set highest performance in power management.
Nothing works.
I am begging for help.

Result of diagnosis: Problem found
Root cause: Wireless capability is turned off
Detailed root cause: Radio is off (HW switch)
Repair option: Turn on wireless capability Use the switch on the front or side of the computer, or function keys if available, to enable wireless capability on this computer.
Does that work? FWIW I suspect this is another example of how lame the troubleshooters for Networking are. In my case, a troubleshooter made this and even more extreme suggestions before allowing a retry but the thing that worked for me was simply
Disabling and then Enabling the adapter. Seems to me that is something that a troubleshooter could have done for me automatically.

Lenovo g510 i7, internet without wifi card?

So, as the title says, can i have internet on my laptop without the wifi card if it's connected with a cable?, i want to connect an exernal graphic card to the pci slot, but i have to remove the wifi card then, will i lose internet with it?

Bump. Still have not fiqured out a solution. I have also latest driver Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7 64-Bit
in fact under properties in devie manager it says i have 14.1.1.3. Any suggestion for a possible solution?

This model only has 1 Mpcie slot and it is already occupied by the wifi card.
If you are aiming for using an SSD on the mpcie slot
You can either replace the wifi card with an MSATA SSD or replace the HDD with a 2.5 SSD

I cannot send email from pop account when in 3G, will send in WIFI.
I thought it was the SMTP server first.. but when i config my WIFI, suddenly the emails that i tried to send, left my outbox and sent.
Any idea's

The SMTP server you are using with Wi-Fi would be the outgoing server of your internet service provider... this is likely why that's working.
SMTP servers specific to a ISP would not work on the 3G network. You would probably need another SMTP server. One from your cell provider?

AIO Remote app cant find HP 7150 aio printer on my wifi network, on Windows Phone 8

Yesterday I install You App AIO Remote on Windows Phone 8. I have connected to wifi HP 7150 aio printer, but phone cant find this printer... I have Lumia 1520 and Lumia 920 smartphones both is connect to this same wifi network like printer, but You app on both Lumias cant find printer, again but no problem is to connect to printer WEB interface from this both Lumias, so wifi network is correct configured.
I have two tablet more in this same wifi network, both with windows 8.1 x64 systems, on this, You Windows 8 modern App AIO Remote find this same printer without problem...
So what is wrong ? printer config ? eprint is on, ipp is on, bonjur is on, ip is static.
Please help Me becease I wait for this app and now i cant use them

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are trying to use the new HP AiO Remote app for Windows phones to print to your Photosmart 7150 printer.
The Photosmart 7150 printer only supports USB connectivity, I have include the Photosmart 7150 Printer Specifications for reference. To be able to use the HP AiO Remote app the printer needs to be connected to a wireless network.
If you accidentally typed the incorrect printer model, please let me know which make/model/product number of HP printer that you have. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Ideapad A1-07 tablet wifi-bluetooth does not work!

Hello everyone. As you can see from the title on my tablet is not working wifi and bluetooth. When turning wifi tablet is reset and continues to be off and on until it forcibly turns off, and when you turn it on again, and do not touch wifi everything is normal and there are no problems with resetting. Can someone help me and give suggestion to solve this stupid problem. I'm from Croatia and I'm bad with the English writing.

Please perform a factory reset
Please ensure you have backed any important data before doing factory reset
Hold the volume down and the power till Lenovo logo appears .
System will boot into recover mode. Follow the instructions

Google Play on Tablet works on WIFI not Verizon network.

I have an Motorola Ellipsis Tablet. I am unable to use Google Player. When I open the app, I get "Background data disable. Google play store needs background data to be enabled." I hit enable and It asks me to choose either Facebook or Gmail. I choose my email account and it tries to sync and I get the message "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." Everything works fine when I am on WIFI at home but when I get to work and I'm on the Verizon network it won't work. I can't use Pandora or look at video. Can someone help me figure out why it is not working on the Verizon network? Thanks.

Oh my! Let's get you back to enjoying your device. Some applications depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available. To uncheck Restrict background data in the Google Play application, follow the directions in the link http://vz.to/1f5KM7b .
