Hi

i bought a new drive and followed instructions to load a clean copy of xp on the new drive. it loads to the point where it says that it is going to start windows and then i get the same blue screen as if i had the old drive in.
error message is stop.1 0x0000007B
i do not know what to do to fix my problem
could some one please help me solve this problem
thank you

You need to enter bios on boot, and change hard drive mode
to "compatability mode", save and restart your install.
Should work?

    Hi masi,
Update bios only if necessary. You may use the version in this page for your Type 4446 machine.
    Hope it helps.

  • G530-4446 - Win7 - Scroll on touchpad no longer works

Hey, I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate on my G530-4446. My touchpad works, but the scrolling doesn't. When I go to Control Panel > Mouse - I notice that the settings are no longer there to control the scrolling. I remember there was a driver I downloaded previously that corrected this issue, but cannot find it anywhere (I've been searching for 2 solid days now). If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    hi mcal,
May I ask about other feature did that driver put back some other feature no your touchpad?
I would suggest doing a clean install of that driver.
try to look first under control panel Programs and features look for a synaptics software the un-install it.
After that do a restart and reinstall the Driver again.
also try to access the Setting under mouse properties
and check if the scrolling are enabled.
    link to sample photo
that photo may not be exactly the same but that should give you a hint on where to check.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers!!

  • G530 (4446-22G) unknown devices after Win7 installation

    Hi,
I recently installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my father's Lenovo G530 (4446-22G) laptop. In device manager I see 2 "base system devices" in yellow that are not recognized. Does anyone have any idea what those devices might be? I attach screenshot of the device manager both by type and connection.
Also, I installed the Energy Management for win7 64-bit but the Fn keys do not work. Any suggestions about this?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Vista 64-bit on 3000 G530 4446-38U?

I'm a little bit dissapointed that 3000 G530 4446-38U laptop did not come with 64-bit operating system. In fact since specs listed 64-bit processor I assumed I would have a 64-bit operating system. I do have Vista Ultimate 64-bit, problem is there is no drivers for this 64-bit operating system.
Will lenovo release 64-bit version of drivers for Vista?
P.S. Signing of drivers is not necessary, since there are ways to make 64-bit Vista not check for signed drivers.

?.....search at Lenovo Support - Downloads&Drives. or..call to the Support line, they will tell you exactly what is the status for the 64 ver.

  • Specifications for G530 4446-36U?

I have ordered a new G530 4446-36U from a Lenovo reseller and am having trouble finding detailed technical information about it. (The model is not in the most recent 3book.pdf, for instance.) I'm not even sure whether this model is in the commercial or consumer line.
I plan to do a clean install of Windows XP on this machine, which will require me to find the most correct and up-to-date set of drivers. I'm wary of the list I have been served when putting my model number into the Lenovo web site--that list includes drivers such as nVidia graphics and Bluetooth that I'm pretty sure none of the G530 4446 machines need. I also am worried about being pointed so often to N500 drivers and information--are those models really the same in all relevant respects?
Furthermore, in a look through this forum, I have noticed that some Value Line customers have had trouble after trying to upgrade the BIOS, and other G530 owners running XP have problems with video resolution. I'm hoping to avoid those situations by finding the most correct and complete drivers, documentation, and specifications.
I would be grateful if someone could point me to the most specific and accurate information available about the G530 4446-36U.
Message Edited by KevinTMC on 07-31-2009 12:01 PM

    Hi KevinTMC,
4446 is definitely a commercial product instead of consumer line.Commercial products has only 7 digits of serial number.
You can get the drivers from Lenovo Support Page or here to be exact .
The http://consumersupport.lenovo.com page is for consumer products other than 4446 type.
If you browse through the Lenovo Support Page, you'll be able to see your machine description as below:
    Product: Lenovo G530 4446-36U [change]
    Operating system: All [change]
    Original description: T4200(2GHz), 3GB RAM, 250GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1280x800 LCD, Intel 4500M, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11bg wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, Touchpad, Camera, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Home Premium 32
    Hope these help.

  • Friends G530 4446-36U died

my friend gave me his laptop to try and fix. its a G530 4446-36U. It would sit there on startup repair for over 10 hours and nothing happened. I backed up his stuff and use the lenovocare to get it to do a full restore. It restarted, and then it said BOOTMGR is missing press ctrl-alt-del to restart. i did and now it just sits at a black screen when you turn it on. i really really need help guys!

sometimes it just happens without no reason.
you need to perform clean windows installation to fix the issue. try to use novo button. ( one key recover button ) if it doesn't work, try to use recovery disks, if you don't have any, you can use microsoft windows installation dvd then enter your serial number from the stick under the laptop. but if you do that with microsoft dvd, one key recover system may not work.
you can also ship your laptop back to lenovo support line.

I have installed latest BIOS upgrade from Lenovo  and my laptop crashed. (June 24 2011)

Does anyone know of a utility to create a bootable USB (or disk) BIOS flash

    Yeah.... Warranty .... Thank you!
    This is a solution which actually works;
It was recommended by a brilliant friend who is not associated with Lenovo:
    create bootable usb flash drive
here is a link to download wintoflash utility:
           http://download.cnet.com/WinToFlash/3000-2094_4-10974471.html
Unzip 6get19ww.exe to the usb flash drive to a folder (for example C:\SOS)
boot computer from newly created usb flash drive (if Windows doesn't work, use command prompt)
locate an old bios file on a crashed machine. It should be name bios.bak
copy located file to another folder with the name bios.wph for example (C:\SOS\bios.wph)
run WinPhlash.exe from a folder (for example C:\SOS)
specify backup file for existing BIOS as bios1.bak
specify new BIOS file as C:\SOS\BIOS.WPH
    flash BIOS
    Everything WORKS!

  • G530 (4446) wireless lan problem on Windows Vista 32bit without AC

I have  new G530 lenovo laptop with the following problem
After I have enabled the wireless driver (pressing Fn+F5) and moving the switch in front of the laptop, the wireless led is blinking BUT, I can't find any wireless networks. When diagnosing the problem with windows vista,it tells me that the wireless should be turned on.
Of course, it is ON. After I have reinstalled the wireless driver again from your the support site, the problem disappeared, but reappeared after a couple of days.
I do not use Access Connections. I have Uninstalled it since I don't need it
I have seen this problem on several sites when I googled for a solution.
    I need a deterministic solution:
    a. What drivers should I update?
    b. In which order should I update them?
    c. What configuration should I change from their default?
    d. What causes this problem and can I prevent it from happening (like- don't go to standby but just to hibernate state)?
    Thanks
    Guy

    Hey, guys.
I just discovered that the computer had no issue at all.
    The problem was with me.
Somehow I managed to disable the wireless network.
I just typed Fn+ F5 and reactivated it.

My issue was similar. I don't know if this will help but support did nothing for me either.
I had problems upgrading and had to install from scratch. The install appears to have created a new Download folder at install (same date and time). I could not access the folder nor could I see any permissions or view or change the owner. I ended up turning off uac and restarting. I deleted the folder and created a new one. No problem now. You might check any itunes folders created with the install for the same permission issue.

  • G530-4446-24U takes FOREVER to POST after BIOS update

    Hey,
I just installed Win7 Pro 64-bit a couple of hours ago and lost the ability to adjust my screen brightness.  After installing chipset and power management drivers I still had no luck.  So I updated the BIOS with this file.
Now it all works well once I'm booted into Win7, but it takes a very long time to POST when I push the power button.  I haven't timed it, but it seems to be over 60 seconds before I have anything displayed on my screen.  When it does start POST, it works fine at the expected speed.  It also restarts when attempting to wake from sleep, and the same problem as mentioned above applies as it must POST again.
Is there a more appropriate BIOS update for my machine, or is this a terrible bug that must be worked out?
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I couldnt flash either from Windows 7 pro x64. I ended up using BartsPE to run the flashing program. I dont have the speed issue, it boots up with the same speed it always did. you should make sure you used the right BIOS. i had the problem once, but it seems to be working now. I still havent gotten the Brightness to work though.
as for the "Cannot load driver C:\Drivers\BIOS\6get18ww\PHLASHNT.SYS.  Please check your accounts, if you have no administrator privilige, please login again! This driver has been blocked from loadingError code: 1275"  message, this is because it uses a 32 bit driver. You cant use these drivers under 64 bit. my solution worked really well. if you  want to use and need help configuring the PE, i can help.
