G560 and audio driver with XP

Iv'e upgraded my G560 to XP. I get a blue screen sometimes, it mentions a driver problem, unfortunatly I did note not down the exact error mesage, but it was very generic, so I do not know what device's drive coudl cause this.
I see 2 oddities in Device manager:
Under "Monitor", "Thinkpad Display 1366x768" is listed twice.
Shouldn't there be only one monitor listed? Can I disable one?
Under "Sound, video and game controllers", I see 2 audio related drivers listed:
Conexant SmartAudio HD
And
Intel(R) Display Audio
Do I need both drivers?
Thanks for any help,
Lukas

If you want help it's bad idea to introduce yourself with bashing posts. Please stop that MSI bashing.
The Realtek driver works problem must be elsewhere. What means it doesn't work? No sound on front or rear panel connectors? Are sure to have used XP64 and not XP32 drivers? Does devbice manager of windows show the device unknown or with an exclamation mark?
I only use rear panel because of my 5.1 setup, and the speaker works perfectly in windows 8 x64 and ubuntu
My machine use triple boot OS'es >>> xp x64, win 8 x64, and ubuntu
And yes, there are several exclamation marks in device manager, and the realtek driver doesn't work at all, I installed all the other  xp x64 driver from the product support section
I have erased the xp x64 partition, and I tried to install the realtek driver in xp x64 virtual machine, and it even shows the same symptoms, either failed install or successfull install with no sound at all, and sound section of the control panel, said "no audio device"
This is the first time I encountered so many problem with one mobo during years of my computer hobby
Yes, I want help, but I don't count much on it
MSI may ban me, MSI is very much welcome to take any further actions on me

How can I get Time Machine to back up an external hard drive (iPhotos) that is attached to airport extreme base station. Note: Time machine is usb to macbook pro and external drive with iphotos is usb to airport extreme base station. Help please. Thanks!

Once you have the drive connected to your Mac, click System Preferences (gear icon) on the dock
    Click Time Machine
    Click Options
Be default, the hard drive will be Excluded from backups. Click the drive to highlight it, then click the "-" (minus) button at the bottom of the list to remove the drive from Excluded items.
The drive will be backed up on the next Time Machine pass
Everything above assumes that the hard drive has been formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as Time Machine will only backup drives in that format.

  • Firewire speeds and audio/video with Apple TV

    Hello,
I hope someone can give me some advice regarding 400 vs 800 Firewire connections.
After picking up an Apple TV about 8 months back, I have decided to consolidate all the audio/video content on my wife's and my Macbooks.
Looking at grabbing a Mac mini and connecting a large hard disk via Firewire to that to store everything. I don't plan on connecting the Mac mini to the TV...will continue to use the Apple TV unit for that. However, while some some of the content will sync between the Apple TV unit and external hard disk connected to the Mac mini, I figure there will still be a good portion that would be shared/streamed off the external disk as it is viewed or listened to.
I currently have an Airport Extreme network, and I am able to share/stream video and audio from my Macbook to the Apple TV and it works great. My question is, when I add the Mac mini and start streaming/sharing off the external hard disk attached to it, will there be a difference in performance if the drive is connected via 400 Firewire vs an 800 Firewire?
I figure the wireless transfer between the Mac mini and the Apple TV would be the limiting factor, but felt it prudent to at least check if the Firewire connection would have an effect.
If not, then I plan on picking up a cheap, used older model Mac mini with the 400 Firewire port to save some cash. The machine doesn't need to do anything more than stay powered on with the iTunes app running and sending files back and forth to the Apple TV.
    Thanks in advance!

No doubt the wireless transfer is the weakest link in the chain. Firewire 800 is substantially faster than 400, so you would gain some future-proofing by going with it. And the 2009 Minis come with Wifi-N, while the older models come with G/B.
A used Mini will usually lack the Apple warranty.
Minis are so handy that you have to ask yourself, why is someone getting rid of it? My somewhat cynical answer is that many Minis being sold on the used market are being gotten rid of because of some lurking problem issue that the owner hasn't been able to resolve.
If you must buy an older model, consider an Apple refurbished Mini, which comes with full warranty and current software.

  • 8.1 Disabled number keys and audio driver

I have a Lenovo G780 lap top that I just bought about a year in a half ago.  I purchased it from Lenovo with Windows 8.0.  When I updated to 8.1 recently, it wiped out the use of several of my numeric keys on both the number keys at the top across on my keyboard and also on my numeric keypad.  The update also wiped out my Dolby Audio Driver.  Does anyone know how to resolve this?  I already had a Microsoft tech dial into my laptop remotely and he was unable to resolve it and referred me to Lenovo.  Ugh.  BTW - the only way I am able to type several the the different numbers is by connecting an external keyboard to my lap top.  These are the numbers that work using the number keys going across the top of my laptop keyboard: 123456   These are the numbers that work using the laptop number key pad on the right of my laptop keyboard:  13456789  In both cases, the zero key is not working.

    Punkinero,
For the “unable to start the Dolby audio driver”, you can use the following knowledgebase article to correct it:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht100126
For the non functioning numeric keys, try doing this:
    - Go to the Control Panel, Ease of Access Center, Set Up Mouse Keys. At the bottom under Other Settings: Use mouse keys when NUM LOCK is: Make sure OFF is selected.
    I hope this helps!
    Cheers, Erich_Lenovo

  • Zoom H4n and audio driver error -2

I have a newish Intel Macbook with GB 09, and a Zoom H4n recorder that I have been using as an USB input device into GB with no problems.
However, GB no longer recognizes the H4n. The drill is to have GB open and connect the H4n to a USB port. The computer detects the device and asks if I want to use it as an input device. I say yes, and then this message appears:
"error code -2 was returned by the audio driver"
Is this a problem in the Mac? Do I need to reinstall something?

    Hi there,
Did you by any chance ever find a solution to your problem with the H4n?? I'm having exactly the same problem. I think it might have something to do with a preference file. I didn't disconnect the zoom properly before unplugging it, and since then I am having the same problems as you??? Very frustrating....
    Thanks.

  • MSI H61M E33 B3 audio driver with xp x64

The realtek driver provided in the installation CD didn't work nor the driver in the download section of the product
Tried the realtek driver from realtek website, that too, didn't work
In xp x64, no sound at all
This is the 2nd time I had so much trouble with MSI product, the 1st one is the bad quality MSI FX400 , which fan and optical drive dead for no apparent reason, and the MSI distributor in Indonesia (PT Alfa Artha Andhaya) doesn't give a about the notebook at all, they just tell me to go to another 3rd party service center which charges me around 2 millions rupiah, and disregarded about the MSI warranty on the notebook, with that kind of money, I could even buy a new other brand notebook
Have MSI sunk so low ?
Can anyone help me ? or willing to help, to be more precisely
    With regards,

Whenever I try and change the EQ in the Beats application, or the bass/treble in the tone controls, nothings. I click save, then when i go back to it, its reverted to default.

  • Video and audio crashes with communication error -8.

Hi, I sure could use some help please.
This is my problem, I can no longer use iChat on either of my computers which both have systems 10.4.10 and 10.4.11 in them. IChat version is 3.1.8 in both computers, my 2003 G4 eMac and my new Intel Core iMac.
I get a communication error -8 that comes as soon as I click on the video camera to connect to anyone.
I use no firewalls, my ISP server doesn't either and they block NO ports.
IChat used to work before I upgraded to system 10.4, in fact it even worked on dial up before I got high speed internet and it worked on high speed internet before the upgrade. One of my computers is brand spanking new, the iMac with system 10.4.10 in it.
I have automatic quicktime streaming and when I did try other setting, it made no difference.
I've called Apple and they had me remove plists from library preference folder but that made no difference either.
Both my cameras work for Skype and for yahoo. I'm bewildered. Can anyone help? I'd really like to have my iChat video and audio work again. (My audio gets the same error)
    Thank you,
    Martha

This post fails to say that the original computer was direct to the modem and now there is a router involved.
I also think I remember there was something else but my memory eludes me.
The info is in another thread.

  • Accessing files stored in Common Server and share drive with  SAP DMS

    Hi DMS Gurus,
We have a requirement, apart from retreving the data from content server storage, the client also wants the documents stored in common file server and Share drive also to be accessed through DMS,
    1) one option for this may be upload all the documents in the existing servers to DMS Content servers to get the full funtionality of DMS i'm i right? please suggest.
here again they have lacs of document so this may not be a ideal solution, now 2nd option is
    2) create a data carrier and Mount points with the existing server if i'm right, but by just doing this what funtionalities will this provide
i have a preassumption that this existing common server can be used as a storage area for DMS (as vault or common server), but only those documents which are stored in to this common server or shared folder through DMS can be retrived by DMS., again i'm i right?
but how can we access all the lacs of file which are already existing there for years.
how can we see all the documents in SAP DMS which are stored earlier in this common server before DMS,
is migrating all the necessary preexisting documents to SAP DMS the only Solution for this.
any solution for this please suggest.
Points sure for any clarification given
    Thanks and  Regards

    hi Priya
This is an old thread but nevertheless would like to give some inputs.
your point .. common file server and Share drive also to be accessed through DMS,
    1) one option for this may be upload all the documents in the existing servers to DMS Content servers to get the full funtionality of DMS.
<The option 1 is an ideal option as in future u would one day need to migarate the documents if u intend to use SAP DMS as the DMS system in ur org>
Alternatively if the documents would still need to be retained in the file server but also would need to associate to SAP business objects u could use the Define data carrier external DMS.
This again depend on what kind of documents are stored in the file server & are they relevant to be associated to SAP objects/ Transactions.
The point here is u still want to use SAP DMS to view the file , all though there are other option as Archive link, Service for objects etc. Using SAP DMS option will still call for creating DIR in SAP & assigning the file path hyper link using LSMW /upload prog.
So as for a temp sol till u clean up the file server u can use the hyperlink and later migrate to Content server.
    Regards
    John
