G570- Blueray not playing film

Hi,
I have recently bought a G570 with a Blueray player. I first tried to play a Blueray film at the weekend and had real problems. My G570 came with Cyberlink Power DVD 10 pre-instaled but this would not run the film. It said that an update was needed which I then did. The film would still not play and the Cyberlink programme continued to state "Cyberlink DVD does not support the playback of this media format."
I contacted the Lenovo service desk and was advised to try another programme to run the film and was reccomended to download VLC; which I did and that also did not play the film. I then tried another programme 'DAPlayer' which, although it did not auto play the film, I was able to explore the disk and run the film from a file on the disk.
So I now know that the Blueray disk does actually work. However, why have Lenovo sold me some hardware and not given me the software to be able to actually use that hardware?
I would wlcome any ideas. By the way, the film I have is called 'RocknRolla' by Warner Bros

Hi Theogrin,
There isn't a readme with that downloadable app, and I don't have a Lenovo Blu-ray player, so I'm speculating a little here.
The multimedia downloads on the Lenovo site are usually updates that won't install (correctly) unless the originally-delivered app is already installed.  I would expect the update to fail if you removed the original first.  It may be that the error message is misleading, and the problem is that the update can't find the original.
Can you restore the original and try again?  (again, I don't have a similar machine) Maybe in D:\application, or D:\drivers, or similar?

Itunes 11.3 not playing Film trailers or Purchased TV movies, will only play music video trailers! Plays songs fine! Running Mavericks 10.9.4 on iMac mid 2014. Have 8gb ram and 1.4ghz processor with turbo boost to 2.4ghz. So it is not a power issue. Is this a bug in the newest version of iTunes?

Well, movies play from my iPad and my iPod via both the HDMI cable and Apple TV just fine and I was going to ask for details regarding your difficulties.    However...

  • My iPod is not playing films. It plays music videos, but not films. When I press play on a film the play sign will come up and then change back to the pause sign. Is there anything I can do??????

    Please help me!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all videos and then resync/redownload
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • HT1657 I downloaded a film for rental from itunes and it will not play properly, why?

I rented a film last evening The book of Kells and it will not play properly.  My computer has more than enough memory or whatever it needs and I am using an account I have used in the past with success.  The films starts, then stops, then speeds ahead like it is not successfully loaded.  Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Where did you download it to and is it a purchase or rental.

  • Films do not play on my iphone

  • I have rented a film on apple tv but it will not play?

It says downloaded but when I go to play it had 'An error has occurred loading this content try again later'. Well I have tried again later for several days and it still does not play?  I have also rent another movie on that would not play.  It again said rented much like this one but would go as far as starting the film but would pause waiting for further data?  These are the only 2 problems I have had as it has worked well up until these most resent rentals?

Sometimes a complete restart can help, (unplug, wait a few moments and restart), however the error you get can be caused by extremely slow download speeds. Check your download speed at speednet.com and report back.

  • Apple tv my tv programmes are not playing in widescreen even though rented movies are. Aditionally my photos on my iPhone 4 are also shown only in the middle of the screen? Why are not all films/programmes / photos filling the whole screen?

Just purchased Apple TV 2 & music videos purchased and films rented from iTunes play in 16:9 ratio and fill my 6 year old Samsung TV screen completely. However my photos and videos played by AirPlay play in the centre of the screen along with TV series purchased and played from iTunes. Why are not all played media filling the TV screen even though they are playing in 16:9 on the TV?

if the original material is not in widescreen appletv will not play it in widescreen
if it did it would mean that it had to cut off some of the image

I purchased a film on iTunes and sync to Apple TV (1) and the film will not play say not authorised please help?

This problem seems to have started around October 28, it appears to affect content purchased only on other devices but played on the Apple TV 1.
There have been other workarounds suggested from time to time, but I have found the simplest solution is to purchase something on the Apple TV 1 directly (There may be free content in some locations and this appears to work just as well).
Once the content has been purchased, it will not only play as normal, but will also allow all other content purchased on other devices after October 28 to play as well.
Some have reported that it's necessary to restart the Apple TV before and/or after purchase, but I found it worked without.

  • Film not playing smoothly on quicktime!

    Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me as i am out of ideas of how to solve my problem!
I have exported a film it is 2 mins long with the first min being a slide show of photos with tilts and pans. When i first exported it the first minute when played on quicktime were jumping. Not at the same point but at random times. I downsized the photos on photoshop and this helped it but they still are not perfect. The rest of the film was playing fine. I then decided it might help if i export the photos as a separate film and then reimport it. Again this helped but they are still not playing perfectly on quicktime for some reason. Any ideas for what i could do? I have put the res down too much already so i cant down size them anymore.
Now when i play the video on quicktime the last half of the film is jumping in the same way as the photos were. I have tried it on VLC player and it works fine but it has to be played on quicktime for a client so i really need this to work on quicktime. I have tried exporting it as many different formats and reducing the bit rate but still the same thing is happening.
I really need some sort of clue to what is going on and how to solve this problem as i am out of knowledge and ideas!
the info on the  latest export of the film:
    QuickTime movie
Size: 153 MB on disk (152,965,033 bytes)
    1920 × 1080
    H.264, AAC, Timecode
    Audio channels: 2
    total bit rate: 8,492
    Thank you!!!

I am not sure I understand everything you asked me but let me try my best to answer your questions.
Basically I was attempting to point out that different encoding strategies and software applications could affect your workflow in different ways. For instance, your used the term "slideshow" which could either be the sequential display of a single JPEG fr
I am using premiere pro to create the slideshow. I import the jpeg then i add motion via the effects tab by key framing. These jpegs go into the same sequence settings as i listed above and are exported as a .MOV in the H264 Codec bit rate is 8,223 and 25 FPS .
Yeah when I exported the slide show as a film and then reimported it  into the sequence it was a .MOV with the above properties.
I used quick time 10 to play the film. I also have version 7 but i want it to play on the 10 as this is the version my client has.
That is a good idea but i still have the same problem with both films played separately. It is difficult to determine what is causing it as it is unpredictable where it jumps and for how long for.
ame for a specific period on a single track, the interspersed display of such JPEG photos on two different tracks on an alternating basis with or without a 'tweening track to apply transitions between the display of alternating track photos, or the display of such photos in a single track which has been encoded as "video" content containing multiple frames per unit of time.
My sequence settings are as follows:
Editing mode: DSLR, 25FPS, 1080X 1920, Codec: MPEG I FRAME.
The software I am editing on is Premiere Pro CS6.
The photos are JPEGS and the films are .MOV, 1080 x1920 at 25 FPS.
Not a Premier user, so your settings (DSLR and MPEG I FRAME) are somewhat confusing to me.
The JPEGS started out as roughly 3,000 pixels large and 300 dpi. This made the video jump a lot. So i took them into photoshop and reduced the pixel dimensions to the closest possible i could to the 1920x 1080 format my film is to be in. I cant remember what each indiviual JPEG was as they were all different but roughly speaking I set them to around 1500 - 2000 pixels and 72 dpi. This certainly helped the jumping but didn't stop it all together.
The slide show has no text. It is old black and white photographs from  the 1920's . I should also say that when i reduced the distance that the pans and tilts has to travel this helped the jumping. it seems to be where there is movment over the still images the film jumps in quicktime.

    Thanks for the clarifications.
If you are changing both dimensions and the resolution reference in Photoshop, then it sounds like you are doing everything correctly here. However, am not sure about your use of the term "key framing." Are you referring to the use of "key" frames to initiate/modify motion effects or the use of "key frames" to insert additional I-frames to improve the rendering of motion effects? The use of an excessive number of I-frames can change the allocation of data between intra- and inter-frames if the target data rate is left unchanged—sort of a "rob Peter to pay Paul" situation. E.g., if too much data is "borrowed" from the "difference" frames, then the motion transitions may cause playback to become jerky in the same way that "dropped frames" during playback would. In this case, you may wish to try an increase in the target data rate for the file to see if it provides a smoother rendering during photo "slideshow" playback. (Am assuming here that your MPEG-4 AVC exports are a minimum Main Profile @ Level 3.1 allowing data rates up to 14 Mbps in which case I would likely try a target setting of about 10 Mbps for testing.)
That is a good idea but i still have the same problem with both films played separately. It is difficult to determine what is causing it as it is unpredictable where it jumps and for how long for.
Suggestion was to test whether the problem was caused by sourced content encoding or the process of "merging" the different types of content. Recommend you reprocess the photos in Photoshop at 72 dpi reference (if not already doing so) to appropriate resolutions and then reprocess the results in Premier to see what happens.
You mentioned VFR- is there a setting i should be aware of for this- can you explain this to me in a bit more depth what is that? I thought the FR is set to 25 and it sticks to 25 unless i select another frame rate?
you mentioned at the end of your reply that it could be data rates or frame rate issues- what would you suggest to solve this problem?
Not familiar with settings available in Premier. Was referring to the use of VFR strategy to eliminate duplicate frames. I.e., if you were exporting photos as stationary "slideshows" rather than using motion effects like Ken Burns, then the elimination of duplicate frames might reduce the data rate requirements associated with "slideshow" exports in "video" compression formats. QT is programmed to skip frames if it is unable to keep up with data throughput—which is most frequently the primary source of jerky playback.

  • HT1947 Does anyone else have my problem with atv3? Plays films in iTunes without any problems but on music every time I use the remote app on my iPhone 3GS it stops playing after around 5 tracks in. Anyone having this problem?

Does anyone share my problem with atv3 I can play films through iTunes without any problems. When I start playing music using the remote app on my iPhone 3GS after around 5 tracks in it just stops playing and seems to lose my connection. Hoping this is human error on my part?

I think this is probably a sign that your network could be better than it is.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

  • I bought a movie on itunes and it will not play even after re-downloading it.

I bought a movie on itunes, it would not play. I contacted apple support people, and they told me to delete and re download it, I did that and it still will not play, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if my itunes isn't up to date, or maybe it's because I'm not trying to play it on an apple device. Whatever the case me be, I just really want to watch this movie, or get a refund.

You should be able to play films on windows computers, if it wasn't compatible with it (e.g. you should have got an error if you tried to buy an HD film on non-HD compatible computer).
The current version of iTunes is 11.4 - you can see if there are any updates available via the Help > Check For Updates menu option.
Or you can download the current version of iTunes from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
What happens when you try to play the film, and do other videos that you have in your iTunes play ok ?
If you can't get it to play but other videos play ok then contact iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

Depending upon what country that you are in (films can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the film from your iPad and redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app (or the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes).
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download films, or if you have problems with the re-downloaded version, then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • Musik with Dialog not playing correctly

    Hi there.
Music with spoken texts is not played correctly on my T410i with Windows 8 pro installed.
For example, the soundtrack to Kill Bill1
Track 5: Queen of the Crime Council - dialogue excerpt from film
Track 6: "Ode To Oren Ishii" - The RZA
The problem occurs in all music players (iTunes, Windows Media Player, the Windows8 App "Music" also flash based player of Sky.fm have this problem (e.g. http://www.sky.fm/play/altrock) .
Hardware: Lenovo T410i with Nvidia / Intel graphic card combination.
    What I've done so far:
    * reinstalled Drivers (Conexant 20585 SmartAudio HD).
    * reinstalled Codec pack (Klite Codec Pack (32-bit and 64-bit)
    * turned off the advanced features (bass management, Virtual Surround, ...) in the options of the speakers
    * switched off the detection of communication activities.
    * Speaker Setting is "Stereo" (two Speakers)
I have no idea why this happens, as soon as there is a spoken text in the music, it starts sounding bad with echo, cracking noise and the spoken texts are very very silent.
I don’t know how to fix this.

I am having the same problem with my Jam Pack loops. I bought the jam packs a few years ago and have been using them fine with my iBook. I put them on an external drive (trying to keep the iMac HD empty) and dropped the folder on my loops browser. They've worked fine with my iBook for years. I just got a new iMac and, again, dropped the folder on my loops browser. They play fine in the browser, but when I drop them in the timeline I only hear a faint beat.
    Any suggestions?

  • Yahoo music videos do not play with v4 - rolled back to v3.6 and had no problem

yahoo music videos do not play with v4 - rolled back to v3.6 and had no problems.

DustinMedlam, I have the same exact problem. I started using my Iphone 4S for shooting video about 2 months ago and tranferred them to my Windows machine with Windows 7. I use the clips in Sony Vegas pro 11 and make short movies. I upgraded to ios 6 last week and every video that I shoot with my iphone 4S now is not usable in Quictime or Sony Vegas???? My old videos from before ios 6 play just fine and I can use them in Sony Vegas with no problems. The only way to play the files is with Windows media player. this does me no good as I just began making short films and now I can not use any of the video I have shot since ios 6. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I shoot video with it and use the clips in Sony Vegas with no issues!?? I can not believe this is not BLOWING up on the internet like the WIFI issue is..... What do we do? All my video gear is for my Iphone not my galaxy S2. This is very annoying. I also notice that no one from Apple response to these support forums. So why are they available?? What a JOKE!
