G570 Choppy Sound - Poor Performance

Hi I'm currently having a few issues with my laptop All drivers are up to date
They all seem to happen at the same time so I believe its a internal issue
A lot of the time lately randomly my sound will get really choppy a static sound right when that happens the computer will have terrible performance doing anything ive run system restore to factory setting  but that seems to only fix temporary.   Also i have alot of trouble restarting the system a lot of the time It gets stuck on starting windows 7...
Not sure if relevant but month after buying it the keyboard went out completely but i was able to fix with restoring to factory settings...
I hope someone can find the problem :/ I will be unable to respond until later tonight will be going to work soon thx for help

Hi Brandon045 and welcome to the community,
Is your problem anything like this thread ?
What antivirus are you running?  Any 3rd party firewalls?  You might want to open your resource monitor and see what the processor usage is when this happens.

  • Really Choppy Sound in Windows 7

?Hi guys, i want to share my problem and seek a possible fix. So thats my problem: I get really CHOPPY sound in games, outside everything is fine, everything is OK, but in-game its like listening to a vynil played a thousand times. My rig is the following: Win7 x64, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 9800GT GPU, XtremeMusic installed on my PCI slot, latest Creative drivers (drivers only, nothing else). The problem happens in games that are not EAX compatible: Battlefield Bad Company 2, Left 4 Dead 2. Put in simple: it happens randomly, it affects all games. Sometimes i get it fixed in L4D2 by changing the output a couple of times (i.e 2>5.>7.>2) but most of the times i have to exit the game and pray to start clean. I tried daniel_k drivers but with them i randomly loose the whole sound output and i have to change through the Working modes to get it back. If anything in summary: i regret purchasing this piece of **bleep**. But still i'll welcome any help to fix my issues.

Re: Choppy sound in Windows 7 on Sound Blaster Audigy SEk What I meant was when you uninstall your graphics driver and use standart VGA drivers then the sound turns to normal without any crackling/popping. But of course you wouldnt want to do that or else you wouldnt have graphics accerelation. (You can't play video games and even watch any kind of video)
For instance you freshly setup windows, dont install any nvidia/ati drivers, just with the big screen, install the creative drivers u wont have any problem with your sound.
That's why I said that there's a kind of confliction between graphics interface and creative drivers. Because when u install any kind of display driver, crackling sound starts again.
There's no solution for this except updated SB drivers. And that's why people get mad to creative on this forum. (Not only on this forum of course, it's a worldwide madness)

  • Choppy sound in Windows 7 on Sound Blaster Audigy SE

    Hey all,
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I love it with the exception of my sound card. Ever since I upgraded, all my sounds are super choppy (like every 5 seconds it chops). Of course I installed the new creative windows 7 drivers but it didn't fix the problem. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this or other possible solutions to try?
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Windows7 64 bit and Audigy 2 choppy sound while recording what you hear

Driver version I have currently installed 6.0..37 I tried to record off youtube in "What You hear" while using Wavelab5 mode and the sound is very choppy, I tried every setting I could think of but am unable to record, I managed to get one recording but tnext one with same settings is coming up rearry choppy. Another problem when browsing the support I click on "If your product is not listed above, please click here" I choose Audigy-->Audigy2 but I get nothing in the next window, I tried on FF and IE8 but nothing populates in the next field, found another way to get to the drivers but when I choose Windows 7 64 bit and choose drivers it takes me to the main support page here <a rel="nofollow" href="http://support.creative.com/welcome.aspx"]http://support.creative.com/welcome.aspx[/url]
    I am on:
    Intel Q2600
    Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6
    2 x 2GB DDR2 - 800 CL4 Ballistix
    Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit
    Kaspersky Internet Security 200.
All current Windows7 updates are installed.
Oh yeah I can hear music (mp3, avi, youtube or any online source) no problem in either winamp, WMP2 or in Wavelab5 while monitoring. It's only the recording that is giving me trouble.
    Cheers
    Rob.

Right where do I start...... I got the latest drivers installed, "What You Hear" was working for about oh four recordings then stopped and back to choppy recorded sound, I went through alll options and nada. So I downloaded Audacity to see if this was a problem with Wavelab and re-tried. Well same thing choppy sound and even rebooting did not help. So I will be taking EVERYTHING!!!!!! CREATIVE off my machine, if these idiots cannot be bothered to release drivers that work then I'm going elsewhere. My music creating will have to be put on hold, my 22m will still have to sit in it's box.
Creative you are all a bunch of ?$"?%$%" idiots period. You have ALWAYS (till now in my case anyway) had good drivers. Even though Windows 7 has been in RC for ages you (absolutely missed that boat, hell you didn't even get up to try to catch it) cannot be bothered to write drivers that work and your idiotic half cooked attempts at customer service to give your bread and butter (that's right your customers who keep you in business) solid drivers are an absolute joke. YOU CAN KISS MY SHINY METAL HINEY!!!!! (thanks Bender lol). I am going to my onboard drivers. Thanks Creative (the name "creative" is kind of contradiction in itself, you should look up the meaning of the word lol). Oh and I will be advising EVERYONe who thinks of upgrading to Windows7 to avoid Creative hardware.

  • Very choppy sound on t5570e Thin client

Hello dear HP support forum and forum gurus.
Our company bought approx 3 000 Thin Clients (t5570e) for a big organization in our country. The problem we encountered is associated with sound.
Every thin client connects to a Terminal Server /WinServer 2008R2/ via RDP (port:3389). Every RDServer configured identically.
Let’s take one site (biggest one) with 6 RDServers and 800-850 users. The strange things happens!!! On some RDServers (ok RDServrs hostnames: TS1, TS4, TS5) users can view videos on YouTube with perfect sound, but the same user on another RDServer of the same RDfarm can view YouTube video but with very choppy sound (not ok RDServrs hostnames: TS2, TS3, TS6).
I mentioned when user starts its RDP session and when RD Connection Broker redirected that user to ok RDServers HP Velocity tray icon on Thin Client became green. But when RD Connection Broker redirected that user to not ok RDServers, HP Velocity tray icon on Thin Client remains blue. Anyway, at a moment when I mentioned this behavior of HP Velocity tray icon on Thin Client, HP Velocity Server Side applications weren’t installed on any RDServer.
A few weeks ago I installed HP Velocity Server Side x64 on all RDServers. Now I see HP Velocity Tray Icon on my RDServer. I can even view IP Addresses of a thin clients that redirected to a RDServer. But the problem remains.
Now, when RD Connection Broker redirected a user to not ok RDServer, HP Velocity tray Icon became green but even after installing Server Side App, sound remains very choppy.
Please help me understand what the problem is?
    Regards

  • Choppy Sound using the X-fi Platin

hey guys, just have a problem.
has anyone else using the X-Fi Platinum Card under Vista Experiance choppy sound and/or drop out's depending on what your doing I'm using driver version 2.8.0004 and im experiancing very very weird sound distortions and what not during game play when i play World of warcraft in a window. it's really strange behaviour so ill try and explain it best i can.
Normally, when i play WoW I play it at in a Window. and alot of time's i want to listen to music while i play the game. when i have the sound enabled while playing the game and try and load up itunes the music will work fine. but when i disable the sound in game and contenue to listen to music the sound gets all choppy and distorted, and on rare occasions it'll drop out. but if i have the sound disabled in game and try and play a mp3 it doesnt work at all and just sits there at 0:00
Its the same thing when i want to watch TV and play WoW at the same time.
When i have the sound enabled, the Audio playback in my TV Tuner Card/Software work's perfectly fine (aside from the occasional strange static popping sounds in and out sounds) its when i disable In Game sound in WoW is where i'd start having problems.
its not just with WoW either, when im watching TV and start web browsing, and try and load up something on youtube, usualy ill hear a loud static POP sound before the audio drops.
and if i try and load up itunes too watch a video, same thing, static sound. then audio drop out.
I'd blame vista if i wasnt having similar problems on XP before i upgraded.at the most, these problems just negate my ability too multi task like i'd like too on multipule screens. but atleast when i was on XP i was only geting the occassional audio drop out, and was able to multi task like i wanted too. but can anyone explain what's going on..
Thanks in advanced, my system specs are in my signature.

Yes, most people are having these same issues.

  • Choppy sound when using airplay with airport express

    Hi everyone,
This is my first posting and I hope I can get some advice with the following situation:
Setting: a CISCO router with WIFI for my apartment, a mac mini, an iphone and an ipad all connected to the network. I also have an airport express that is attached to a set of speakers (the airport express is connected to the network as a client).
When I try to use airplay from ANY device and play music to my speakers connected to the airport express, I get choppy sound (volume goes up and down) and bad sound quality.
Any advice and how to go around the issue?
I've updated firmware but the issue doesn't seem to be that.
    Best Regards,
    Will

    Hello WillMendoza,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Troubleshooting AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4215?viewlocale=nl_nl&locale=nl_nl
Ensure that other devices are not trying to stream to the same Apple TV at the same time.
Turn off Bluetooth on your iOS device by tapping Settings > Bluetooth.
Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is set up with the recommended settings for the best performance.
Certain external devices, such as microwave ovens and baby monitors, may interfere with a Wi-Fi network. Try moving or disabling these devices.
If possible, try to locate your Wi-Fi router in the same room as your iOS device and Apple TV.
If your wireless and wired networks are the same, try connecting your Apple TV to the router via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.
If the Wi-Fi router has an external antenna, check to see that is it connected properly and in good condition.
Use the Wi-Fi network troubleshooting guide to resolve interference and other issues.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Ekiga has very choppy sound

I've tried running Ekiga both on 32 and 64 bit Arch, and I can't seem to get it to function correctly. What's happening is I get really choppy sound. I believe that all of my sound system is functioning properly, and I could run Skype under 32 bit just fine (when I had 32 bit). I've tried changing the audio codecs with only minor changes in the results. I've turned off echo cancelation. I've played with the jitter settings. Nothing seems to fix it. My best guesses are:
    1) The codecs simply don't like my audio components (or visa-versa).
    2) Ekiga is running at a too nice 'nice' level or
    3) The Ekiga SIP server sucks ass ([email protected] is my test site)
Does anyone here have any ideas other than setting up a chroot environment?
    ---------->>>>>>>  Edit
I tried twinkle just to see if SIP clients work. Twinkle works fine with the [email protected] test site. Ekiga is the problem. What am I missing?

  • Choppy sound through any browser

    Hello,
I've been having this problem for a few good months: the sound coming out of Firefox when playing e.g. Youtube videos or MIDI files is choppy, as if only every other sample of the sound were played. This happens even when there aren't many programs opened, so likely not a performance issue.
The problem is not browser-related, as the same thing happens in Chrome and IE. I'm guessing it's from Adobe Flash Player, even though I also get choppy sound when playing sound files which I don't think play through Flash, such as this one.
Playing other sounds, e.g. MP3s using Winamp, works just fine.
I'm running Win XP 32bit on a laptop with 4GB RAM and dual core CPU. I tried to find the Flash version but I'm not sure where to look for it.
    Can anyone help? Many thanks!

I think I'd agree that this isn't Flash Player specific on your system, the .ogg file also has problems.  When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    dxdiag instructions
How do both of these video files work with Chrome?
    HTML5   video
    Non-HTML5 video

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You must restore from a computer.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.

  • G570 Windows 7 microphone problems (choppy sound when recording)

    Good morning,
I have a nice Lenovo G570 with Windows 7 that has been running perfectly for quite a while.  I have some old audio tracks (multi-track recordings) that I have done using Audacity on an ancient Windows XP desktop.
I installed a new version of Audacity (64 bit) for Windows 7 from their website and it is fine.  It opened up, displayed, and played the old audio tracks without a problem.  It even allowed me to remix them as well.
My main problem is using the microphone and wanting to do some musical recordings and multi-track recordings on the Lenovo G570.  I plug a Shure microphone (using a 1/8" adapter) into the mic jack on the side of the G570 and start to record.  It works fine and allows me to record the first track (keyboards).  But yet when I go to record the second track, while listening to the 1st track (i.e. multi-track), the microphone input dies out, gets choppy, fades back in to normal level, fades back out, etc...
I ran a test on the microphone jack and the drivers (Conexant SmartAudio HD)...  I plugged my MP3 player into the mic jack using a stereo 1/8" cable and clicked "Listen to this device" and then clicked Apply.  One of my MP3 tunes started playing, but was so awful and so choppy, I instantly knew I had a problem.
I downloaded the latest Conexant SmartAudio HD driver from your website - - 8.54.4.51 and installed it and rebooted.  I still have the same problem with choppy audio when using the microphone for recording.
What gives?  I performed the same test on my wife's Dell laptop (as seen above with my MP3 player), and a Beatles tune came through beautifully.  You could hear Paul McCartney clearly singing, "Yesterday...  All my troubles seemed so far away..." and it was not choppy at all.  Then again, my wife's Dell laptop does not use Conexant SmartAudio HD for sound drivers.
Can you provide any help with this strange issue with using the microphone for recording so it won't come across all choppy?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the reply.  I got it worked out...  I contacted Audacity and went over and over everything them.  I downloaded and installed the latest audio drivers from Lenovo too (version 8.54.4.51).  On my Lenovo G570 with the Conexant SmartAudio HD package, I had to do into the "recording devices" section of the audio after selecting the microphone (either internal or external - if it's plugged in).  Then click on "Advanced" and go down to the checkboxes and uncheck:
Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
    Give exclusive mode applications priority
    ...and finally...
    Enable audio enhancements
Click OK, exit out of it, close everything, reboot...
Sha-zam..  Audacity records perfectly fine without any problems, choppyness, cutting in/out, etc... and on all tracks, while other tracks are playing.

  • T520 poor performance and SpeedStep problem

Hi to all the users in the forum!
I'm new to this forum and I would like to thanks for any future help that you'll give me.
After some months of using my new T520 (i7 2620m) I was really disappointed for the poor performance of this ThinkPad.
Briefly I've noticed slow responses to many programs in particular in the MS office enviroment (.ppt files) as well as on my gmail interface under firefox, and in general the Win7 environment. It sounds really strange to me, I came from a 5 years old Intel®-Centrino® (1.7Ghz) experience and the differences between the old and the new machine should be more sharp. So I've investigated to understand this behavior. Before that I've upgraded the system with the newest files.
To understend the behaviour I've used the following software (x64):
CPU-Z to evaluate the performance in terms of Core speed; Multiplier and Bus Speed
Prime95 to produce an heavy load
Intel processor ID Utility to produce a "certified" report.
The responses is always the same. The multiplier is stuck at 8X with a frequency of about 0.79Ghz and the gauge in the CPU performance of the Lenovo Power Manager” always indicating  29% (that is 0.79Ghz of the 2.7Ghz of the i7 2620M processor).  Nothing change if I switch on the turbo boost or if I made some variation in the performance profile. The only change that I can observe/listen is an increase rotation of the system fan and the consequent noise increase when the turbo boost is on. Even during the “torture-test”  of Prime95 no differences in frequency is observed.
The only way to obtain an higher frequency is to disable the speedstep technology from the BIOS setup, with the consequence to have the multiplier stuck to 24X with a frequency of 2.7Ghz…. but is not a solution!
The described behavior of this processor under Win7 is also observed with Ubuntu 11.04.
I’ve reported the problem to the technical support, and they ask me to run the “Lenovo Toolbox System” because is the only software that they can “trust”. So I did it and sent the log files. Now I’m waiting for a response and in the meantime I would like to discuss, report and share my experience to this forum.
Actually from my point of view, there is a serious problem with the i7 processor, that I can’t solve and a substitution is required. I’m disappointed because I’m using since some months a PC with reduced performance and because I spent my time to demonstrate this evidence. I hope to solve quickly this inconvenience and I’ll report to the forum any news from the technical support.
    Thanks
    Misuraka
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The CPU will throttle down if the battery is removed. This is intentional for various reasons.
To extend overall battery longevity, use the provided Power Manager.
    1) Launch Power Manager
    2) Click Advanced in the top right
    3) Go to the Battery tab
    4) Click Battery Maintenance
    5) Choose Custom charge threshold
    6) Start charging from 80, stop charging at 90.
This should extend battery lifespan. Avoid overcharging it, and avoid overdepleting it. Lithium ion batteries don't last long under those circumstances.
In extended storage or when you know you will be using AC almost exclusively, set the charging threshold to 30 to 40, deplete it to 40%, then leave it there.

  • [W510] - USB 3.0 SSD, poor performance.

    Help please?
I'm getting some rather poor performance on both of the USB 3.0 ports on the laptop.
I have an SSD that's been tested via internal SATA II connection, capable of (sequential) read 275MB/s, and write 250MB/s. Also have a 3.5 inch WD Caviar Black 2TB SATAIII (WD2002FAEX), tested via eSATA, capable of (sequential) read 150MB/s, and write 150MB/s (think it saturated the eSATA on the W510).
However, when either of these two drives was connected via USB 3.0 (tested with three different brands of USB 3.0 enclosure), the sequential read performance was only at 85MB/s, and write was (REALLY bad) at 60MB/s (even with the SSD). This leads me to think there's a bottleneck somewhere on the W510 (because I know for certain, the USB 3.0 enclosures are capable to at least give 130MB/s read and write. The drives are also capable of performing faster than 100MB/s as well).
All drivers, BIOS, firmware are the latest. Platform is Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit.
The NEC USB 3.0 chipset seems to be connected to PCI Express 2.0 x1 bus.  Reading on the Intel QM57 chipset spec, the PCI Express 2.0 implementation is only capable of serving 2.5GT/s (http://www.intel.com/products/notebook/chipsets/qm57/qm57-overview.htm), using 8b/10b encoding (http://www.tmworld.com/article/318759-What_does_GT_s_mean_anyway_.php), that gives 2Gbps.  So I was expecting the USB 3.0 connection is capable of giving me around (not exact, as I accept there's overhead) 200MB/s.
At this point in time, a single mechanical drive (consumer level) can't quite go up to 200MB/s yet, but SSD can.  And therefore, I expected my SSD benchmark via USB 3.0 could at least give me that....sadly it wasn't the case with the W510.
This brings two questions I have for the forum:
    1. Why is my W510 USB 3.0, in combination with high performance disks and rather capable USB 3.0 enclosures, perform so poorly.
    2. If my understanding from above is correct, then isn't this "USB 3.0" feature (regardless of my benchmark result) sounds misleading?  Because the product, W510, is simply incapable of delivering a USB 3.0 experience even in "ideal" situation (limited by the 2.5GT/s).

I did try eSATA as well, the WD drive was able to do 150MB/s and 149MB/s, read and write respectively. (as the QM57 chipset natively supports SATA at 3Gb/s)
The issue here is as part of the decision process to get the W510, USB 3 capability came into consideration (for having more than 1 fast external storage device).
    EDIT:
Ultimately, what I'm really after is:
    1. Have I configured something incorrectly, or misconfigured something.  Or is there's some ideal component linkage I'm missing.
    2. Is the W510's USB 3.0, at the very least, capable of delivering 2.5GT/s?
    3. I may, or may not have to file a complaint to Lenovo or BBB for misleading marketing / sales info.
    2nd EDIT:
I do thank you for suggesting eSATA.  However, if Lenovo is going to reply to this, I simply won't take "use the touchpad instead" if the trackpoint isn't working properly.

  • Video took on iPhone 5 is choppy and poor quality after sync

    Dear Apple Support Community,
Video that I take with my iPhone5 running the newest iOS runs crappy on my mac.  I sync my phone and upload all my pics and video to iPhoto and the video's picture is choppy and the frames skip, however the sound is unaffected.  I tried opening them in QuickTime and the same thing happens.  The video plays back on my phone with no problems.  Most of these videos are of my children and I really want them on my computer!  Thanks in advance guys/gals!!

    James,
I have heard the same thing about processing power, but the answer was vague and no one has told me anything definitive yet. However, I a cant afford to buy a new iMac, as much as I dearly want a new one, but I did upload my pics and vids to my mother in laws iMac (almost two years old running Lion) and they worked just fine. Why does this happen?!?!?!?  I don't know. I thought maybe the OSX only allows iPhoto a certain amount of processor power, but I opened them in QuickTime and they produced the same choppy effect. Probably some bit of code they sneak into iOS to make one have to buy a new iMac/MacBook. I wish, for the both of us, I had a better answer. Anywho, good luck and Godspeed in all your endeavors.
