G570 dvd drive how do i do vendor reset?

So here I am with a bit of a pickle, I've gone and run out of region code changes on my g570's dvd drive right when I actually have a dvd I want to watch. I hear tell that there is a way to do a "vendor reset" which will allow me to set the region code another 4 or 5 times (?).
Does anyone here know how I might go about doing this?
And more importantly is there a way to set this thing to region zero or nine? So that I never have to worry
about this region locking again?
(Please dont suggest anydvd or dvdfab passkey. I tried decryption software, It seems to hate the drive because the results of those decryption programs were pretty horrifically garbled and stuttery. It never even got as far as the dvd menu)

My Power Mac G4 MDD has no DVD drive how do I pair it install OS X on my new HD.

    Hi, two ways...
Put the Install Disc in another Mac tathas Firewire, put the other Mac into Target mode...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
This turns the other Mac into a big Firewire DVD drive, then boot the MDD holding the Option Key, select the Install Disc in the other Mac to boot the MDD from.
    Or an external FW DVD...

  • We do not have a dvd drive. how do we install the photoshop software?

I would like to install but do not have a dvd drive. how do we that?

There is no macbook of any vintage that doesn't have a dvd drive if it has any kind of optical drive, but you can always install the trial and enter your serial number into that. You will lose the special link to uploading to costco if you do it that way, though.
What makes you think your mac can't read a dvd?

  • G570 DVD Drive behaving strangely

    Hi,
I'm having terrible problems with the DVD drive in my G570. Although the drive shows in My Computer and Device Manager as working properly, when I put a CD in there is a lot of buzzing and whirring but after a few minutes of this it stops and says "Please insert a CD in the drive" and refuses to recognise that there is one in there already.
I have tried the following with no success:
Reinstalling the drivers for the the drive and ATAPI
    Deleting the drive and re-adding
Changing the drive letter in Disk Management
Removing the upper and lower filters in Regedit
    Uninstalling iTunes
None of these have worked and then, one day, I got fed up of this so used my spare external USB DVD drive and then, all of a sudden, the internal drive began to work. However, once I pulled the external drive out, the internal one started with its problems again.
Any ideas? I am at the end of my tether with this one and, in light of the weird USB drive thing, I don't want to replace the internal drive just in case it is a weird software problem.
    Thanks
    Paul C

  • HP Pavilion TSST CD/DVD driver-- how can I get update/replacement?

CD/DVD doesn't read-- troubleshooting message says driver is bad.  How do I access replacement for this drive?

    Hi,
The driver for CD/DVD Drives is supplied by the operating system, so try the following.
From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, from the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives.  Right click the drive and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.  When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ).  Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.
    Regards,

  • Macbook bad DVD drive how to install windows in bootcamp

My macbook has a bad DVD drive. I just upgraded it to snow leopard and want to install windows using bootcamp. Unfortunately when the windows installation starts the machine reboots but does not seem to be able to detect the windows disc in an external dvd that I have attached to it. I tried two different usb dvd readers and finally a firewire one I had laying around to no avail.
without the DVD drive working, how can I get it to install Windows?
thanks very much in advance for any help

    Hi Amy
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
This particular forum is for student software developers so you might not get an answer to your question. I suggest you post it again, but this time to one of the Boot Camp forums. Maybe someone there will have the answer you want.
    Best wishes and good luck

  • My macbook has no dvd driver, how do I install my Photoshop Element 13 I just purchased from staples

My macbook has no dvd driver!  How can I install for photoshop element 13 I just purchased from staples

Download/install the trial from http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-13-direct-download-links-premiere.html then activate it with your serial number.
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page.
If you need more help, you better ask in the Photoshop Elements forum instead of here in the Flash Player forum.

  • 2 DVD Drives: How to use the second one?

I salvaged a DVD drive from my PC and just installed it on my Mac Pro. How do I use it? When I press the eject button, only the top one (that came with my system) opens.

Yes, you should be able to drag them, although items added thru login items loaded on startup may place themselves to the left.
There was a problem before 10.5.2 with dragging an item to the FAR right sometimes.
If you want one book, "Mac OS X: The Missing Manual" series probably covers the most bases in a quick read. Not sure if the Leopard edition is out.

  • Problems with Lenovo G570 dvd drive

I've got a Lenovo G570 using Windows 7.  I've recently lost the ability to use my DVD drive.  It appears in the Computer file but won't load anything.  I've already checked and the software is supposedly up to date.  I've even taken it out and re-seated it but nothing works.  Any advice?

    Hi IMFrellingWonko,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The Upper and lower filter does not fit he Symptom here but I suggest you give it a shot
                http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
check My Computer screen when you put in a CD, sometimes autoplay won't work but you have to double click the CD icon to open the content.
If you already tried other known good disc format (DVD, regular CD, Mp3,data,bootable CDs) and still won't recognize any of them
It's possible that the Drive itself is having issue,
If you have other laptops that fits with the Drive size you can swap the Cd drive and check if it will work with other laptops. You can call Technical Support if the Laptop is still in Warranty.
    Best Regards
    Solid Cruver

  • No DVD Drive-How Do I Install New OS?

My B&W Mac doesn't have a DVD drive.
But I have access to friends with new Mac laptops WITH DVD drives.
Is it possible to network a laptop to my computer and use the laptop's DVD drive to install the latest OS onto my computer?

    Buy one.
This won't be the first and only time you will need a DVD drive. A combo DVD/CDr drive would be nice and a DVD burner would be best but even a plain old vanilla DVD drive will be better than a CD drive in this day and age. I bet you could find a used one for under $15

  • New imac doesnt have a dvd drive, how do i ...?

so, since the new imac doesnt have a dvd drive what is an alternative way to watch mymovvies and download cd's ? i think apple messed up removing the dvd drive and people that have/will buy thew imac deserve a refund or something to connect to the imac that reads discs or something.

If you bought an AV on DVD, then it's you who failed to buy the correct product.  You can buy lots of different AVs through download.
If you needed a computer with a built in DVD drive, then it's you who failed to buy the correct product for your needs, if you weren't willing to buy the seperate DVD drive.
Keep in mind, you also never payed for a DVD drive in the first place, since the computer's price would have been adjusted accordingly.  So you don't get something for free that you never payed for in the first place.

  • No optical (dvd) drive, how do I install my copy of photoshop and premiere

I bought a package deal notebook and adobe photoshop, assuming it came preinstalled...instead it came as a DVD, but alas, I have no optical drive in the new ultrabook. Can I download the software and use my product key from the dvd to activate it? If so, how?
Sorry if this is easy, I have never had a computer without an optical drive before.
    Thanks

It dpends upon the version of these products. If they are the latest version, then yes you can. You can download the trials from the adobe website http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
just use the license number that came with your dvd.
