G570 will not power on with or without battery

I have a G570 that will not power on or charge regularly. I have tested ac adapter and i am getting 20 volts. I also tested power at the jack on motherboard where the power port plugs in and getting 20v there as well. If I remove battery laptop will not power up on just ac adapter. If I plug in ac with battery installed the power button, power light and battery light just blink but still will not power on. I have left overnight and still nothing and I have tried 2 new batteries. My thinking is motherboard and I have tried googling but have not been able to find this exact symptom. Unit is out of warranty .

hi itrcomp
I would suggest doing a power drain
Remove AC and battery and hold down the power for atleast 15 seconds,
then reconnect just the Ac see if it will turn on.
One thing is sure here, your system is not getting power from the AC,
The light blinking when you have the Battery in is an indication that the battery power is low and it is not charging.
Your troubleshooting steps leaves the AC and the (Power system-DCjack or motherboard) the culprit.
Your System also has a DC in Jack part like this
Part number 31048400
PIWG2 DC-IN CABLE-15.6
that might also be the cause.
You can check your system Maintenance Manual about how to go about checking this.
I would suggest to Call Lenovo Technical Support for assistance if your not comfortable about opening the Laptop.
Best Regards

  • 13" white Macbook will not power on with known good battery

Macbook will not attempt to power on with a known good battery that shows full charge.  Also, when Magsafe plugged in, there is no indication (no green or amber light) it is connected.  This charger does work with another Macbook (same kind).
I have checked the Magsafe/port for any dust & debris, and have followed the tips listed in the FAQ's for a macbook with no power.  As I said, the battery & charger both work in another Macbook.
    Suggestions please!

Hi Stephanie. It could be a logic board issue or simply the power button at this point (let's hope its the latter). Can you give us more info on how this happened? Did the computer suddenly shut down or was it stored and unused for quite some time?
Without any power, and with you making sure both the battery and and charger is working, then I would suggest bringing it in to the Apple Store.

  • Iphone 4 will not turn on with or without charger. Lock/sleep button is broke. Itunes will not identify phone.

My Iphone 4 shut off randomly last night while charging. It will not turn on with or without charger (I have tried multiple working outlets and usb ports. Didn't work)
The lock/sleep button is broke (I tried pushing it down on multiple surfaces as hard as I could while holding the home button. Didn't work.)
My Itunes will not identify the phone is hooked up to the computer (my itunes is completely up to date. I tried all the methods of pressing down the home button and pluuging in the usb chord while Itunes is running.Tested my roomates Iphone 4 with my chord and it charged and Itunes identified it. Tried his chord as well. Didn't work.)
All the advise I can find in these communities involves using the phone. The screen is black completely black no matter what I do. It makes no noise either (called it several times) I have read about 15 different posts on here and tried every method I found more than once. Do I just need to take it in?

Apple won't repair it, they just offer you an out of warranty replacement, cost is US $149. Me? I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a discontinued model. I'd sell it for parts on eBay or go to a third-party repair shop. Be aware, if you go the third-party repair shop route, you forfeit all support from Apple, including the right to an out of warranty replacement.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • G7 will not power on with battery at 100%

I just bought a new battery because the one that was in said it was charging but the windows app always said 0% charge so I bought a new one. It's needed  a  new one for a year, so  I put the new one in and let it charge up until windows app in the corner said it was at 97% not charging. I unplugged and it was like  there was no battery in at all. I plugged the power cord in and I was at the windows shutdown error startup.
Ain't nobody got time for that. Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • 2006 Macbook Pro will not power up on a charged battery.

It was working today, then suddenly shut down while running on battery.
I've reset the SMC and PRAM.
Magsafe light is green, menu bar status is (Not Charging).
Battery is 83% charged, 204 cycles, 74% health.
Getting into the Apple Store is kind of a hassle, I want to exhaust every conceivable option first.
Computer operates fine while connected to A/C, with & without battery installed.
Any ideas on what to try to get a definitive diagnosis, or better yet, solution?

What ever you find is more convenient for you.  If you buy from Apple you know that you are getting the correct battery.  The one in my old MBP is been in service about 3.5+ years (second battery for that unit).
You can operate a MBP strictly from AC with no harm if the battery is out, but the CPU speed will be automatically lowered.
    Ciao.

  • My iPod 5g will not turn on with a full battery

I just got a 5th generation iPod touch and I plugged it in to charge and Now it will not turn on or even light up the screen is there anything I can do like replace it or whatever

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • T61 will not power up or run on battery

I have been having this problem for a while now. I have a genuine lenovo battery and a brand new ac adapter. The laptop will run fine when plugged in but when unplugged it imediatly shutsdown. one way to get by this was to start up a game or program that would take up the screen and the unplug the laptop, but as soon as you close down the program it will shutdown. The laptop when shutdown attempting to start up will get to the windows loading screen yet it shutsdown at a random point in the load time. At this point i am thinking that it is no longer a physical problem with the laptop but software shutting down the computer. any help of power software or drivers or anything that would cause this is greatly appreciated. Also i just figured out that it will run perfectly fine when run in safe mode. i cant find the process stopping it from running. i turned off all services and startup programs and it still shutdown.

So i have tried to update the bios but the updater from lenovo doesnt seem to do anything. can some one help me with installation/updating the bios.
heres a link to where i got the bios updater
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-67853.html
So i just checked the bios and here are the versions
    Bios Version = 2.26 (7LETC6WW)
    Embedded Controller Version = 1.08
Also i dont remember if i stated this before but when i disabled all the startup procceses and the services the laptop will still have this problem which cancles out all of those. Which leads me to think its a driver that is disabled when i load into safe mode and it only uses the base drivers to run the os. so if anyone has an idea of what driver could be causeing this or what driver could fix this that would be greatly appreciated.

  • HP Pavilion a1123c - will not power on after being unplugged while in use

    So bit of panic:
I've been using the above computer since 2007 with the expected wear and tear, slowing down. Today it was put through its paces and while on a multimedia-hwavy web page it became unresponsive to the point I could not even bring up the task manager to restart. Being a computer noob, I unplugged the computer to force a reset. It now will not power on with or without the power source. While plugged in the LED flashes rapidly. When unplugged the LED flashes but more slowly. I have tried flipping the voltage switch on the back but still my computer won't turn on.
I have all of my digital photos on this computer and am terrified of losing everything. What should I do? Is there hope of the data being salvageable? Thank you all so much.

Assuming erico 's advice fixes the situation, please make backups of the important data -  such as photos or other important documents to a DVD or flash drive or external hard drive.
If the power supply troubleshooting guide does not fix the problem, there are ways to still make the backups of that important data, on a working computer from the failed computer.  Just come back with the report on whether the advice from erico worked or not.

  • Macbook Pro will not power on without battery installed

    Hi there,
I have a Macbook Pro A1226 that fails to power on without a battery installed.
i.e. will not run off AC power on its own. I have tried 2 other power adapters, no change. All 3 adapters are outputting the correct voltage without fluctuations.
But, if I am in OSX with a battery plugged in, shutdown the laptop, remove the battery while AC is still plugged in, it will power back on without any issues. But as soon as I remove the battery, it will not power back on using just AC.
Is this an I/O board issue, or a mainboard?
I have power drained the unit and reset the parameter ram.
    Thanks

Any update on this? This is the same thing that's going on with my laptop right now. I was at the Genius Bar and they said they can send it in for repair. Takes 7-9 days and costs a minimum of $310. At the time I was there, my computer wouldn't start up at all, because the battery had drained to less than 20%. It didn't even start with just the power cord (no battery in). The "genius" finally got it to work by doing a PRAM and SMC reset. Got home and was able to recharge my battery to 100%. Used my computer for 2 days before I dared to take it off the power supply. Lo and behold, as soon as I take it off the power cord, then re-connect it, it shows "Not Charging". I tried to do SMC again, but no luck. Keeps saying "not charging". Even tried with a brand new battery. Do I have to get the I/O board thingy replaced?

  • Imac 27" Intel Core 7 CPU. Screen goes black and will not respond except with a push of power button. Second monitor connected via displayport continues to display fine. Apply Store did full hardware scan and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back

Imac 27" Intel Core7  CPU 16 Gig RAM. Screen goes black and will not respond except with a push of power button. Second monitor connected via displayport continues to display fine. Apply Store did full hardware diagnostic and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back to Mountain Lion but problem remains. Apple Store can do no more.

I did some more digging, it appears to be a backlight problem only. I can see the screen very dimly if I use a bright flashlight in a very dark room. It also seems to run ok if the brightness is turned down a LOT.
So I'm thinking this is a LED driver board issue or the display itself. I'll open it up and check the connection between the two and see if I can get any more clues. At least I can use it somewhat now by dimming the display significantly...
