G580 model 20150 Bluetooth

Hello. I know that here are many toppics about this problem.I dont have in devide manager the bluetooth device.I read them all. The usefull seems to me this one. I did it step by step, but i can still find BT device. My operation system is Windows 8 professional x64. I know that this laptop bluettoth has, because i used it when i had Windows 7 installed on it. Thank for your help.

When I updated my G580 to Windows 8.1 I had to go thru very specific steps to make sure my card was recognized correctly, including downloading the right driver.  I was presented with no less than 4 different driver files for my module and I had to try several before finding one that worked.
What worked for me:
1. Download correct drivers from internet (lenovo)
2. Remove all bluetooth and wireless network hardware from Device Manager tree by right clicking on the device and choosing Uninstall option.  If asked, choose to remove driver files as well. Reboot machine.
3. Install new drivers from downloaded files, check Device Manager to verify wireless card has been correctly installed.
4. Cold Boot machine (power cycle).
5. On start up, Windows finds new hardware, loads Bluetooth drivers, enables device.
6. Return to Device Manager, verify hardware is working without errors or warnings, reboot if needed.
7. Open Bluetooth Manager, search for devices and pair with one to prove working status.
I had to try several of the files to find that I needed to use an "Atheros" driver for the installed bluetooth to work correctly.

  • BIOS Request for G580 Model 2189 Windows 7 x64

Hello, could someone please provide an original BIOS for G580 Model 2189 x64 Windows 7? Thank you!

Not to difficult to find... Why the "original" BIOS request?  Usually not a good idea to backstep BIOS unless directed to by support professionals.  Also, BIOS updates are independant of Windows Versions, the installer or "flashing": program used to install the BIOS file is sometimes Windows version dependant.
Either way - check this page for BIOS files:  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g580-no...
    Good luck.

  • G580 models which wireless card in which model?

I understand price points mean less features/more features.
What I don't understand is the lack of details regarding which wireless card is in which model.
I do know entry level G580 is basic 1x1 N card.
Which cards are in which models please?
    Jim

The recovery discs can not be downloaded from the web. Therefore you would need to go to ASP, so that they could order it for you.
I'm not sure, but I think the wifi module is under the keyboard, but don't ask me how you can get there. All I know is, that you will have to remove some screws from the bottom of your notebook in order to clips out the keyboard.
Anyway, there is software around that can identify devices in your machine, like Everest.
But are you sure you have Wlan equipped in your notebook? As far as I know a wifi module was not built in.

  • Apps for cannon ip100 using iPad original model using bluetooth

    Any connecting steps, thank you.

    Ed-
I understand the ip100 is a printer.  The iPad prints through WiFi, not Bluetooth.  To print, you will need an intermediate device such as a computer that has WiFi, and can print to the ip100.
Search for AirPrint Activator to find a way to share your computer's printer via WiFi.

I have the same problem. G580, model 20150. I clean installed W 8.1, deactivating UEFI, but the Bluetooth device isn't discovered. I installed the appropriate driver, but the issue remains. I believe it's a driver issue. How can we contact Lenovo to tell our problem? They don't provide an e-mail adress, unfortunately... I'm wondering why?
EDIT: by reading the post #3 on this thread, by Solid_Cruver, I uninstalled Lenovo Energy Management for W8.1 x64 and installed older version as suggested. Then pressed Fn+F5 as I used to do in Win 7, activated BT, reinstalled appropriate driver and... Voila!, I have functional BT! Yupi!!!
Thank you very much, Solid_Cruver! Good solution!

  • BIOS G580-20150

Hello, I have a G580 model 20150 and periodically I check if updates are available for my laptop. I saw a weirdness in Lenovo download Center:
    - updates aren't available for my model, 20150, under W7, see here http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS038599
    - but are available under W8, see here http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS039067
**bleep**, I must upgrade my OS only for update the BIOS?
On the other hand, the version confuse me, one is 40, the other is 96... and I just "feedbacked"  5 * the Download Center.

Nobody can help me? Let's rephrase:
Currently, my G580, model 20150, has rev. 3.7 BIOS. The OS is Windows 8.1. Which BIOS version upgrade is suitable for my laptop?

  • Think disabling WMM on G580 solved wifi Limited Access issue

I'm posting this in the hope the hope that it may help someone else.  I have a G580, model 20150 with Windows 8.1 and the Broadcom wifi card.  Like many of you, I had the limited Access dropout issue.  Here's the things I can remember trying previously:
Switching from the Microsoft Broadcom driver to the Broadcom driver.
Turning off power management on the Broadcom driver
Setting IBSS mode to just b/g
    Disable Bluetooth collaboration.
Disabling all things power managment I could find.
    etc...
The thing I found that seemed to fix it once and for all is going to the Advanced properties of the Broadcom and disabling "WMM".  As I understand it, WMM is a QoS feature for prioritizing audio/video port traffic over data.  Supposedly, you can't take advantage of wireless N speeds with WMM off, but I'll trade performance for not having to reconnect every 15 minutes.
I'm not going to mess with telling you how to disable WMM since there are tons of instructions and discussions on the interwebs.  I also can't guarantee that it wasn't a combination of WMM and other fixes that solved my problem because I'm not willing to experiment on my finally working pc.  My system has been constantly connected and going strong for 12 hours.
Good luck and I hope this helps.

Don't these usually work by intercepting the DNS quieries and then redirecting you to the gateway for authentication?  Check your DNS settings and  try to use theirs for the nameserver.  Make sure something else isn't getting specified such as Google Public DNS.

  • G580 Unidentified network after up grade Windows 8.1

    My machine details:
    Machine: G580
    Model: 20150

I turned off the modem but the problem continues

    hi jimmyneutron,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to check, when it says "Connected - No Internet Access" can you open an elevated command prompt and type ipconfig /all and observe the TCP/IP IPV4 address
    Wireless Network Connection:
DHCP Enabled ..............   xxx (value should be Yes  No)
    DHCP Server  ..................  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    TCP/IP IPV4 Address .....  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (preferred)
    Subnet Mask ....................  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Default Gateway ..............  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    - If you get a valid IP address (192.xxx.xxx.xxx / 172.xxx.xxx.xxx / 10.xxx.xxx.xxx) then there's most likely a security software that's interfering with the internet connectivity. If you have a security software from your old Windows 8 installation (eg. Mcafee, Norton, AVG, etc.), try to uninstall it and observe.
    - If you get a 169.254.xxx.xxx IP address then you're most likely getting a DHCP failover (APIPA).  check this thread and try the script made by cbautis2 to refresh the winsock and TCP/IP configurations of the PC and observe. In addition, ensure that the DHCP Client service is running under services.msc.

Let me know how it goes.

  • G580 - No speaker sound

    Hi everyone!
i have just bought my laptop 2 days ago...and there are problems yet :-/ There are no speaker sound. First time there was sound on speaker, but i connected a headphone to it. It sill worked, but after i disconnected it, there was no more speaker sound, just on the headphone. I tried to install the lastest audio driver, but it did not help. I use win 7 64 bit. The laptop is G580, model: 20150.
    Please help me!
    Thank you in advance!

    hi atilenovo,
On your posted video Your system is utilizing a Microsoft default/inbox driver, since it says on you volume mixer "(High definition Audio"
If a driver is properly Communicating with Windows It should list the Audio source you are getting from, like on these photos
    REALTEK http://www.reviversoft.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Volume_Mixer_-_Speakers_Realtek_High_Defi...
    Intel Audio
    http://blog.nirsoft.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/volume_mixer_win7.png
A driver is needed in order to fix that
On lenovo driver download says that G580 can be shipped with either REALTEK audio or CONEXANT Audio
we need to identify your Audio device then
    Here's how
     http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96442-device-manager-finding-unknown-devices.html
that works with Audio devices as well.
If you were able to identify your Audio Device
    download the right Driver here
    Best Regards
